  1. "What time do you call this?" said Rene, opening the door and winking slightly. He looked like he had taken a shower, his hair was wet and he was not wearing his beret. "You smell like a sewer, my friend, and those bones you carry smell even worse...bring it in, although it will smell the house out..." Once inside, Rene dismissed the invisible ink with a wave of his wand. The corpse looked even worse in the pale electric lights of Marcels home. "Come come!" motioned Marcel, in the kitchen, downing a glass of wine as he did so "horrible work tonight, help yourself to some wine. Cheap stuff, but it serves it purpose in the early hours of the morning, after digging up corpses and facing of a plague of rats..." Rene lead Marceau through to the Kitchen, where Marcel had laid down some plastic tarpaulins on the floor. "A bit shabby" conceded Rene "but it will have to do if we are to remain undercover. What now?"
  2. Could we start off with a Gather Information Roll for Catalyst, and taking 10/20 is fine. Just so she has some background to rumours etc...
  3. OOC for this thread Synth and Catalyst meet some zombie hobo's!
  4. December 9th, 2011, 11pm... 'Tis the season of goodwill to all men... Synth sat on an abandoned, rusting freight carriage, that was in turn, sat on an abandoned rusting railway. Greenbank was not "the face" of Freedom City. It wasn't that attempts were not being made to rejuvinate the area, it's just that so far, they had not had much luck, just like the down and outs that squatted there. She was wrapped in a simpled blanket, although she didn't particularly feel the cold. Not like human's anyway. So wrong... she thought, surveying the broken landscape. She had come here with the mobile soup kitchen, to do a bit of voluntary work, see the city. The kitchen, run by Diedre McManus, a fierce Irish Lady who washalf revolted by Catholicism and half embraced it like a lover, was parked only a hundred or so yards away, and had a small queue of the hungry and needy. Synth was disgusted with the poverty and situation of the Hobo's here, amidst such wealth. The burping and snoring of a drunk asleep in the carriage with her reminded her that, sure, some parts of the situation were self induced. But the whole situation seemed so inhuman to her. She smiled slightly to herself at the thought. That she should be judging what was human or not.
  5. GM The trick worked flawlessly. The solid, real, and detailed carpet appeared, and was promptly yanked, forcing the Crime Lord straight onto his face. It was...odd...here, dimensions seemed to be totally arbitary. Although the crook had taken a good dozen long paces towards Revenant's door, the carpet somehow rendered him back tow where he was, even though he hand't moved. All things, like time, and space, operated very differently. "What was that?" cried the boss, sprawled on the carpet and smarting from the fall. "What the hell is this? a carpet???"
  6. Excellent! Reflex Save for Da Boss! In this case I will treat that as a counter: 1d20=10 which he looses, and fall flat on his face. You have initiative! PS: This is going to involve a lot of fudging of rules, hope you are ok with that!
  7. GM Stopping off for a quick lavatory break, a very intoxicated Gorsky violently threw open his door and stomped out of his hotel room. "Damn it to hell!" yelled Gorsky, staggering out of the hotel room, and past the receptionist. He was drunk, but his screams held a certain conviction - he believed hell was not far behind him. "I...gotta end...this...nobody...screws with me...." he said, stumbling towards his car. "What are you looking at?" he screamed at a frightened couple, and waved his enormous revolver at them. "Goddamn Americans!" he shouted as he reached his car and opened the door. "I'm gonna burn that hospital to the ground!" he whispered to himself "Make sure it ends!" Even as he spoke, Dead Head could smell smoke. His eye in Gorsky's room saw smoke belching fortrth from the toilet in Gorsky's room!
  8. "I can get there in a moment" replied Supercape "Just a matter of folding two point in 4 dimensional relative space together, entangling them at a quantum level by parabolic distortions in the m-brane flux through the 11 dimensional singular entrapment of the n over.." He paused. "Yes, anyway" he continued "I can take us all there although" he mentally assessed the mass of the heroes and the victims. "Too much mass for one journey" he explained "I'll take the two victims, can you make your way there under your own steam? I'll let security know, it's not far..." With a distortion of time, space, and other dimensions, Supercape and the two victims evaporated away.
  9. GM Detectives Burns and Winterstone sat in their van. "Guess that wraps it up for tonight" said Burns. "That Grue, or whatever it was, got clean away. God knows what it wanted here, or with that Lady. Damned if we ever find the cockroach, but its wanted for alien abduction now. If it pops up again, we can throw that at it. No point putting out an APB, the thing is probably past Pluto now. But we have its description..." He tidied up his papers and strolled out of the mobile base. "SWAT nearly finished their debrief, time to pack up and go...you coming?" he asked his partner. "In a minute" replied the wound up Winterstone. When Burns was gone, he looked once again through the papers, studying them for several long minutes. "This doesn't add up, Ms. Moya. Something's amiss...why you?" He tapped the table a few more times before finally putting his Jacket on and putting the files away. "I'll solve it one day..." he mumbled before stepping outside. "See if I don't..." ~ Fin ~
  10. GM "Is this the Nec-row-man-ser?" said Nora, eyeing up Nick suspiciously. Her eyes bulged and the sallow flesh seemed less anaemic. Revenant had had to keep her fed (courtesy of her regenerating flesh) at a careful pace...Nora was insatiable, but if fed enough she would at least not become crazed at the prospect of the whole Gourmet of Revenant in front of her. "He looks....skinny..." she commented, ignoring the fact that her frame was little more than skin and bones. "No tricksy stuff!" she warned, wagging her finger furiously at Nick "Or I'll gobble you up, even if you are on the skinny side!"
  11. Sure, although Stealth skill mastery and a roll of 25 should cover it!
  12. "The Quantum Matter?" replied Supercape "Theoretically, it could collapse it's wave function at any time although the chances are proportional to the observation it is under, and usually extremely small. Extremely small. I have calculated that, if unobserved, it would have an average life expectancy of 10 to the power of 10billion years. The expectancy significantly shuffles down as it is observed. In a city street, it would probably only last, on average a few decades. In a country lane, a few millenia. It's all relative!" He took a scrunched up handful of cape. "This? I suspect its actually more advanced than the Atom's material. However, it's never going to be mass produced. I had to construct it almost atom by atom. Took me over a month to stitch it together..."
  13. "That's the spirit!" "Computer! Standby mode!" At the command the Simulation room faded to its uniform light appearance, albeit this time much darker, with pinpoints of lights on the floor and at the exit for reference. "Well, I think that about wraps it up. I have a bit of data to go through, won't take long, but it's pretty dull, and unlikely to be of much practical help unless you need to use your telekinesis in the middle of a particle smasher or in a sea of mesons" He started walking Kristen out of the suite "Of course, if anything interesting does pop up, I'll let you know!"
  14. "I doubt we can get to the bottom of this here" said Supercape, musing the matter. "And in any case, these two need medical attention..." He bent down on his haunches, examining the two unconscious bodies. "Lets take them to the Lab" he concluded "you know it? big shiny skyscraper in Hanover? full of lots of technological stuff?" He presumed most people knew of the Lab. But "most people" was not "all people". And heroes could be a...strange bunch with equally strange histories. "It has an infirmary and plenty of equipment to examine these two" he explained.
  15. Done Done (as two linked powers). Why not? And - Jack of all trades and Grappling Finesse feat! Other stuff will come with a little development and more PP. I believe it fits concept wise - no training has been received.
  16. Supercape watched as the grey-steel weight arced gently at whipped through one of the targets. It was followed, soon after, by two other weights sliding through the remaining targets, each pulsing and evaporating once they had been struck. "Bravo!" said Supercape, clapping his hands. "Excellent shot! might come in handy, that target practice. Always good to know you can throw a crook into a cell accurately!" he quipped. "Remember, if you go crime fighting, you don't always have to beat the bad guys senseless. Putting them in prison is the aim..." He shrugged. "Some heroes, well, they can smite the unjust a little harder than is strictly necessary, if you catch my drift...don't fall into that trap!"
  17. Final question (looks good)./ The Fatigue/Healing combo, as written means you could heal yourself without necessarily fatiguing somebody. If you wish healing to be dependent on a successful fatigue, that would count as a limitation on the heal, meaning you could push up the ranks a bit. I leave that as an option before approving.
  18. Looking good in general. Points: 1. Equipment. Generally accepted that if you have skills in a craft, you get the toolkit for free, and in any case this site has a fairly liberal view of what equipment you can get for free. A Commlink for instance might be considered free as would a cellphone, unless "souped up". Masterwork tools however would require EP, but in this case, you need to specify which tools are masterwork... So, you might spend your points: Masterwork Electronic Tools (1 EP) Masterwork Disable Device Tools (1 EP) Masterwork Laptop Computer (1 EP) Nightvision Goggles (1 EP) +1 EP on something else...e.g. binoculars. 2. Attack bonus As both Melee and Ranged bonus is +12, you could just leave this as "Attack: +12" without further annotation. 3. Shock Staff This looks odd to me. The two alternate powers need to be 18PP, not 20PP, as they are alternate powers of a base 18 PP power (Blast 8). You should notate the blast power as the base power. 4. Mimetic Stealth Biosuit Looks very cool! I presume you are buying concealment to all visual / auditory / olfactory senses? (at a cost of 1/2 PP per Rank given two flaws...)? You should notate this as concealment 8 and that it affects all of those senses.
  19. The problem with boost is that one could consider it to remain active when one switches array powers, making a bit of a mockery of the cost. If its enhanced strength, when you switch the array the strength will go. I'll leave the choice of alternative to you. THe Fatigue/Healing one works, otherwise you could go Drain Strength/Enhanced Strength, Drain Strength/Healing, or Fatigue/Healing depending on your preference. Otherwise it all looks ready for approval.
  20. Any thoughts on if would be ok to swoop the two victims to "the Lab" for a recovery and investigation?
  21. Supercape half-raised an eyebrow at the revelation, and scrutinised Quintescence carefully. "Very interesting" he commentated. "Potentially very helpful. Or dangerous. But certainly worth knowing. Admiral, from my understanding, Sedna is still a considerable mystery. An unknown. We should, as they say, expect the unexpected...." Logical contradiction he added to himself, without verbalising his thoughts. "But forewarned is forearmed. We do, of course, appreciate any information you can give us..."
  22. Just for fun, how about an attack roll on that target? DC 10 to hit!
