  1. Ok this is a visual, will based Fatigue attack by the master. DC 22 Reflex Save, or you must make a DC 22 Will Fatigue attack. Also, please make a DC 22 Arcane Knowledge and Sense Motive Roll. Revenant is free to attack back or do anything, after the gaze, the body collapses in on itself, to become a shrunken withered inanimate corpse.
  2. GM "Oh my dear...I have tried so very long...to become..." He rasped, like he was a collapsing balloon, caving in on itself, become wrinkled and ancient. With a jolt, he stood up like an animated puppet, full of furious power. He grabbed Revenant by the shoulders and twisted her to him, like a bolt of lightning, fast and horrible. He gazed into her eyes, the sockets hollow and withered as he continued to wither and collapse. "to become YOU! HAHAHAHA!" he laughed like a horrible wind, with the last breath from his collapsing chest. His eyes were black as the darkest night, and drank in Revenant, scratching away at her soul...
  3. May as well roll initiative guys (for the round after this surprise attack). Parsons: 1d20+0=16 Also, for failing the gaze of horror! Despair: The subject is shaken, suffering a –2 on attack rolls, saving throws, and checks. Failure by 10 or more means the target is overcome with hopelessness, helpless and unable to take any actions. NB: Feel free to also use this as an extra complication, such as running away gibbering Cthulloid madness, or becoming pathologically afraid of Churches, or any other madness you wish to inflict on yourself!
  4. OOC for hthis thread. Voltage and Ironclad investigate a PING! and lots of mayhem. (And yes Ace is the vile Jock from hell).
  5. GM 1st June The kids were not quite kids, not quite adults. Four of them, in the dying heat and light of the day. Out in a small park area, hanging like the final year schoolkids they where. "Hey wheels" laughed the Jock, a tall muscular man with a crop of brown hair and irritatingly good looks that cushioned his nasty sneer "what you going to do after School, eh? sell pencils?" He grabbed his girlfriend, a skinny little blonde who dressed a little to little for decorum. She smiled, but in her eyes she was repulsed by his behaviour. "Hey, Ace, leave Joe alone. He's a good kid..." The stoner, a whacked out kid who, funnily enough, didn't actually use drugs but still acted like he did, was sitting by a tree listening to his i pod. He was lanky and ruffled, but not unhandsome. His eyes were big and glazed lending him a rudimentary attractiveness. "Yeah man, chill..." he mumbled. Ace just laughed "get with it, Stephan" he said to the lanky youth "you gonna go to Art college, least do something, even if its just Art. Wheels here, he got nothin' hahaha!" he laughed. Wheels, or Joe, was a forlorn kid, in a wheelchair, and clearly suffering from some neurological deficit. His tearful eyes gazed at Ace with pure hatred and frustration at his impotence. He writhed in his high tech chair, resplendid with gadgets, leads, and monitors to maximise Joe's independence. PING! Only Joe heard it, resonating through his wheelchair equipment, a pulse of radiowaves that was more powerful than anything he had heard. He actually felt the pulse course through his body...and... Meanwhile... PING! Even a mile away, the pulse created an almight sound, overloading the senses of Voltage and Ironclad with an intensity enough to cause pain for a moment, like a massive boom, or flash light....
  6. Ok this guy is not going to be much of a fight actually, but he is throwing you an emotion control (despair) effect. Will Saves vs DC 15. As this is a Sense Dependent (Visual) thing ("look into my eyes....") you can also have a Reflex Save vs 15 to look away at the last moment.
  7. GM "You dare threaten me!" said Parsons, spinning around. "I am a man of God" he sneered. "But not your God!" he laughed, mumbling under his breath a nonsense stream of words. The clouds darkened, and the wind grew colder and rose. "You feel the power? the abyss in front of your worthless lives? You are nothing! NOTHING! My flock, my brood, they have worshipped the unspeakable one for centuries. And now we will feed on your bones and despair! Aiii! Aiii!"
  8. "There's no time to debate it" replied Synth, flexing her multitudinous muscles "we need the edge. If you can get me on board, do it. Ill stay undercover, and see what I can do from the shadows..." She turned to Starlight, giving the heroine a reassuring pat. "If there is any trouble, I got your back, I promise. And when the time is right, give the signal, I'll act" she said, a pang of anxiety reaching her as the seconds counted down. "Patience" she said to herself as much as anyone, before turning to Nikki. "Although the clock is ticking. If you can do something, best do it now..."
  9. Ok as per chat! I will throw a variety of ideas at you. I am afraid I dont know Geek lore on vampires, I am starting from first principles. The back story is fine, but it is rather specific - related to the Bathory line. I imagine your character will be getting into a lot more scrapes that just those related to that, and in any case sooner or later that will resolve. Suggestions: In order to stop this being the cliche of "Seductive Sexy Female Vampire", put a spin on it. E.g. She needs the blood of someone who loves her to survive (so you can have a boyfriend, or other scenarios). Although she can glamour, this wont feed her need. Bingo, conflict and complications. Possible powers suggestions that are interesting and might drive good stories: Insubstantial 2 (Gas) Extras: Continuous, Action: Reaction (Strong emotions). So if she gets scared, or loves, she turns to smoke! And therefore can't feed! Instead of Superstrength a Boost Strength/Superstrength power based on Feeding on somebody who loves her. Emotion Control, Sense Dependent (Visual or Auditory), her words or hypnotic gaze can inspire emotion in people. Regeneration: the bonus is helpful but more helpful still would be increasing healing rate. Source is great, and if you would want to make it "Blood of somebody who genuinely loves her" that would probably be a -2 Limitation. You could look at Morph feat with Metamorph powers into bat / rat / snake / wolf etc. Or, you could have a drawback such as only people she has kissed or something, to make it more interesting. This power might be better outside an array. Also, think of things like her true form is always visible in mirrors. Concealment to all powers is a bit dull in my opinion. But you could do something like Concealment to Visual senses drawback: can be seen in mirrors (a subversion). Or only to men. Something to spice it up a bit. I personally think Comprehend is better outside of an array (not efficient at all, just better). Again you could think of flaws and limitations to this, such as needing to have kissed or touched the speaker, or tasted their blood, or something. The same thing might apply to telepathy, needing to taste a drop of the victims blood. Anyway just a few ideas. I think playing with flaws, complications and drawbacks will make for a much more interesting character and threads.
  10. OOC for this thread. Silhouette and Overclock in a steamy affair.
  11. GM 1st July London, Earth Victoriana "I see..." said M, soberly, and gently put down the phone. He sat down heavily. "Cup of tea, please, Wilkins..." he said to his excellent butler, an efficient man who was also one of the deadliest fighters in the empire if M ever needed protection. The tall, thin man with slicked back black hair and shining green eyes nodded, and went off to brew the requested beverage. Normally, of course, Scotland Yard would deal with murders. Even high profile ones. But Contessa Erika Von Lichtenstein, daughter of the German diplomat, Karl Von Lichtenstien, was beyond "high profile"...and Germany had taken to a lot of Sabre Rattling recently. He doubted that the Germans could seriously take on the Empire, but their engineering and manufacture was on a par with their own country, and whilst small, a war with Germany would be costly and bloody. He drummed his fingers together. Normally, he would have considered calling in Lord Steam to the affair. The damn fool was probably the best detective in the Empire. But unfortunately, the idiot had a dalliance with Erika five years ago. Helpful enough, since they now had a dossier on the girl, but one whiff of Steam being involved would have Count Karl firing the first cannons of war himself. Besides, there was something...extraordinary...about the murder. And that was the ministry for extaordinary affairs was for. One possibility did present itself. Somebody who could not be traced back to the Empire. Or even the earth. She had proven herself extremely capable in the past. A hero of the realm. But not from the realm. He opened up a cabinet behind him, and picked up the red iron phone....
  12. Synth looked at the Ship and back to Starlight. "I don,t see how...." she answered. "I can probably jump or clamber on to it, but getting in is another matter altogether...I wouldn't,t know where to start. If you can spring a door for me, or something that would work, but it's taking a risk. Ithey may find it aggressive. And they have the bigger guns...." She slammed two fists into two palms. "But Iam NOT going down without a fight....!"
  13. GM "Cease your prattle, mindless one!" said the Reverend, stepping down from the Altar and scuttling towards the two of them. "This is a house of...God..." he smiled, a grimy insincere smile "I serve this...community...and its special needs...." He turned, walking back to the Alter and raising a wraggling fist. "You are not welcome here, Stranger...not...at this time! muahahaha!" he laughed. Again, a most unwelcoming and unpleasant laugh to match his smile. The cavernous ruin of the church, whilst sadly inadequate to keep the rain from seeping in, was excellent and dramatically reverberating his voice.
  14. Rene peered at the woman through his glasses, rubbing his chin. "Possession! Young lady, you have been dabbling with ze forces beyond your control!" he said firmly, with a punitive tone. "I understand..." he turned slightly to Revenant. "Ze spirits perfuse this world, alive, but intangible. But ever so often, ze spirits, they condense, become more real, take life...take mind...like this young lady. Infused with pure rage...." "Of course, ze question is, how? but I fear only the lady can answer that. And she is, as they say, not quite with us..." He furrowed his brow and pressed his head to his temples. Broken Crow, probably the worlds greatest master of spirits had taught him a thing or two. It did however, require a battle of wills. The chant he spoke was of an ancient language even Rene did not know. But its effect was powerful...as he summoned his own inner strength to eject the spirit, pressing his most formidable will into the lady, and then retreating as he did so....
  15. Thats enough for a complex message. YB to make a sense motive roll please DC 10 for a basic understanding, DC 15 for a complex message, and DC 20 for new information i.e. the details. E.g. (Detail up to you guys) DC 10: DC 15: DC 20:
  16. Just to note, El Heraldo can pick up Parsons Speech, but Young B cannot. If El Heraldo wants to communicate what he heard, he will need to either say out loud (so Parsons can hear) or use bluff innuendo as per rules.
  17. GM At the church... Fang was not big, and in the setting sun, looked ominous and deserted. Mutterings and unpleasant looks peppered the short journey to the Church. The residents of Fang looked odd somehow, in dress and looks, something that neither of the heroes could quite put their finger on. The Church, despite being large, was even more tumbledown up close, barely standing up. It looked like you could breathe on it too hard and it would collapse. Insider, it was shoddy, with half rotten seats and a broken stain glass window. Reverend Parsons was crouched over the altar, apparently drinking sacred wine and muttering to himself, fiddling with an small stone idol in his hand. The acute hearing of El Heraldo could pick up his mutterings, a mish mash of languages that the hero could nevertheless understand. Reverend Parsons was a man of medium build, with an odd shaped face, completely bald with buldging black eyes, his frame somewhat bent and twisted. "What do you want???" he snarled as the two heroes approached, interrupting his own mumbling trance.
  18. Synth started to undress, before catching herself. Not in the station now... she reminded herself. Nudity was, if not exactly evil, still...inappropriate in the society she found herself in. It didn't make much sense to her, but then, it didn't have too. "Err....pardon me...." she mumbled, her extra arms dancing around to give at least some decorum by holding up discarded and yet to be worn clothes strategically. "Errr...don't look..." she smiled, as politely as she could but looking terribly clumsy at the same time. In any case, her abnormal dexterity and fast fluid movements soon got her into something that didn't look so quite so silly...
  19. Ill dispel using Extra Effort (or a HP?) - if Rene is up next? How do you want to simulate this?
  20. GM The man chuckled. And not in a nice way. He nodded over to the centre of Fang, dominated by a tumbledown church which looked worse for the wear, to say the least. "He headed over there..." he said slowly. "With Reverend Parsons. The goat. That's where you will find your man, in cahoots with the filthiest of us...hahaha..." He cracked his knuckles. "And don't get any idea's young man. We here at Fang. We a community. Like family. We don't want know trouble. But you can bet we can cause it if we need too. We don't want no prying eyes. We don't want no saving...." he glared at El Heraldo deeply.
  21. GM "I probably shouldn't" replied Tyrone, scratching the faintest stubble on his square jaw. "But what the hell, I told you his name, and its easy enough to look him up. He is bang next to City Hall. Little squit, I tell you. Holed up in some swanky little office. Here, his address..." He scratched it down on a piece of paper. It was evident that Cloak was not a popular fellow in general. "What about the deportees? come to say goodbye to them?"
  22. "It's not much to go on..." muttered Synth, still smiling at the prospect, leaning forward to peer at the hologram. "They look basically human..." Her features blurred, and changed, her colour and tone matching as best she could that of the aliens. From her sides, bud's appeared, quickly growing into the additional limbs of her model. She was no expert at this - and it was a tough thing to mimic, but it might do the trick. She concentrated on getting the details as correct as she could - a ridge here, a depression there... She looked down at her spandex clothes. "These, I cannot change.." she explained. "Perhaps something more fitting, if you have anything you can supply in the next few minutes?" she asked Nikki.
  23. 1d20+10=28! Also, using variable power to grow some extra arms (is it 2 or 4?) Variable Power: 4 PP: Additional Limbs 2 (Extras: Continuous)
