  1. Oh, I think I can guarantee that Fleur's drawbacks will come up in threads I'm running. And everyone else's too. Though I did miss Belphegor's last time, I'll have to get him next time... Anyway, the major problem is having Fleur's power loss happen so bad guys know to exploit it. It's not as obvious as waving a cross at Avenger, or grappling Belphegor's wings, but it's still very easily doable. There are a lot of ways Fleur's hair could get lost in the busy life of a superhero. A well-placed Blast of any number of descriptors could burn off her hair; Bee-Keeper (or any other strong baddie) might rip it off in melee next time he's out in the field with her. And that's just by accident, a science-savvy villain who figures out she photosynthizes could make the intuitive leap to do it as well. Perhaps the Green Man, no doubt as part of a larger scheme to steal the powers of plant-manipulating heroes? And once word gets out that it's a weakness of hers, it's something her enemies would work to exploit. Plus, there's always the luck of the vulnerable. Just as Mr. Immortal is the core GLA member who takes the atomic bomb to the face on every mission, so too it's the person who'd be hurt by losing her hair who gets it toasted off. Besides, the advantage of the play-by-post structure is that Electra (and her GMs) can set the drawback's frequency by actually having involuntary hair loss happen to her every three-to-five adventures. In fact, if Fleur gets her hair ripped or burned off in her very next fight, that would explain why she hasn't gotten points for the drawback yet: it hasn't come up yet. makes a mental note for Fleur's next fight with the Bee-Keeper In a world where Avenger got three points for a drawback that hasn't actually come up in play yet (though probably will soon, there just hasn't been a thread where it would realistically happen), I'd think Stesha could get a point or two for a drawback coming up next fight. :)
  2. Edge jumped again when Phantom showed up, but settled down a little bit when Grimalkin showed her face. When he could actually see and hear these two ladies, they weren't so scary. "It's summertime," he replied politely to Grimalkin, "so Breakdown and I don't have any morning classes." He looked Grimalkin up and down, a skeptical look in his eyes. She's like eighteen. Maybe she's just well-preserved. "We're out here because we're superheroes. This is Breakdown," he said, pointing to Eddie, "and my name is Edge." He carefully wrapped up the remaining third of his huge, sloppy sandwich and slipped it into the space in his grapple gun holster, and gave an expectant look to Phantom and Grimalkin.
  3. Only one change I'd suggest making: you should give her Skill Mastery in Disguise rather than Pop Culture, given that she's been in prison for many years and evidently never botched a Disguise check while she was in stir. APPROVE-D
  4. OK, it looks like the only thing you have left is template stuff, then. (i.e, alphabetize your feats, say what your attack focus is in, give how many ranks in Second chance you have, etc.)
  5. What's her professional relationship with more modern thieves like Downtime or Magpie? What superheroes has she been...entangled with over the years?
  6. I like that you've made a viable character out of a broken NPC. The numbers look good to me. APPROVED
  7. Edge looked fairly nonchalant about all the students worried about Mr. Summers' reaction. "It'll be all right, guys." He nodded confidently. "Mr. Summers expects a lot out of me, so I'm going to give him everything I've got." That actually seemed to make sense to Edge, though students with a different relationship with the headmaster might not be so convinced. "Eddie, I'll figure something out as we go. And Psyche..." He turned and winked at her. "Making a difference is cool." "Geckoman, be ready to scoop me up if things get too dramatic." Edge waited patiently for everyone to leave before he signaled to Eddie to put his voice on the speakers. When he spoke, his voice was clear and powerful, ringing out over the stadium as if he'd been practicing his whole life. And he had been, as it happened, to his toys, to his bathroom mirror, to his computer, ever since the day he'd been old enough to understand the heroic legacy of his family. As his voice rang out over the crowd, Mark Lucas truly considered himself the luckiest boy in the world. "People of Freedom City! I hope you don't mind our little interruption, but before you could finish the game we had to take out the trash!" His smile was absolutely gigantic, his joy in this moment patently obvious to everyone around them. "But we've taken care of the bad guys now and once we've got them off the field, America's national past-time and the good people of Freedom City will be safe again." He let out a breath. "We are the heroes. You're safe under our watch."
  8. Spending an HP to get the Pitchoo working for Geckoman, if possible. If not, spending one for Psyche so she can get Edge's voice out on the loudspeakers.
  9. "Geckoman, try the Pitchoo again. See if the crash jarred it working again." Edge kept a close eye on the crowd as they began to stir. "Everyone, move in on me so we can conference." When Psyche asked her question, Edge knew he only had one good answer. "We stand up and tell them who we are," he replied to the others, calling out so they could hear him across the field. "We don't have anything to hide, Hellion. We're _superheroes_." We did it. We actually did it. Mom, Dad, I hope you're watching this. He shot a look at Phalanx and leaned close, murmuring, "Phalanx, if you really don't want to be here, fly Tech Kid there out to the EMTs. But come back here when you're done." He had a feeling Wander would probably get a talking-to about the fight, but it wasn't his place to tell her off: he wasn't her teacher. Besides, he was young enough to just feel glad she'd taken the obnoxious inventor down before he'd done the same to anyone else. Besides, she'd taken a lightning bolt for him! He wasn't the kind of guy to dwell on it any further than that. He looked up at Breakdown and Hellion, nodding approval to himself at what they'd done. He was a little curious how Hellion had told off the demons, but hey, that wasn't his business. He certainly knew nothing about magic himself! This is a sweet team. We're going to have some sweet adventures. Once we figure out what we're doing. Surely that wouldn't take very long. "Psyche, can you rig something from there that'll put my voice out over the field?"
  10. Edge was on his feet quickly, pulling his cap down to cover his eyes. Can't give away my identity, can't give away my identity... But if they got into a fight in the middle of the bar, who knew what disasters might happen? Not here, not like this! He thought hard, trying desperately to think of a solution as some of the more watchful people started to react to Erin's drive-by Gecko-snatching, when suddenly the two supervillians bolted to their feet! "Cheezit!" yelled "Dee-Dee," keeping her brain isolated from Psyche's probing by sheer force of malignant will. As the two lady supervillians bolted for the bar door, Edge pulled his Madman Finale hat down low over his eyes and yelled "Stay inside, folks! We'll handle this! Come on, team! We'll show them how we do it!" With that, he bolted out the door right after the two fleeing bad guys.
  11. Edge uses Luck Control to help Phalanx with his Ultimate Toughness save.
  12. Early the next morning, Jack gathered his clothes and disappeared. Moira was many things, but disappearing under her nose even after they'd been intimate was no difficult task. After all, he was very sneaky, and very fast. He noticed Stesha had already risen and left by the time he departed, but maybe that was for the best. His memories of the night before were certainly very vivid, and exceedingly pleasant. But it was a new day, which meant new responsibilities for both Jack and Avenger. One responsibility in particular. He'd only half-fed the night before, which meant that this was a morning for thirst.
  13. Edge uses an Aid Another action (with his Attack of +10, he can't possibly miss) to give Wander +6 to hit Tech Guy on her action.
  14. "Team!" Edge yelled out loud. "Hit the button! Wander and I are taking this guy down, hard!" His injuries hurt, but the joy of imminent victory blotted out the burns he'd gotten from the exploding robot. He raised his wrist blasters and fired a beam of hard light at Tech Kid, the gadgeteer easily dodging the blasts but leaving himself terribly open for the counter-strike he was knew was coming from Wander. There were advantages to fighting alongside the most powerful brawler in Claremont. "Wander! He's open! Punch him out!"
  15. Jack was genuinely torn for a moment, weighing his feelings, Stesha's feelings, and Moira's feelings against the safety of everyone involved before succumbing to temptation. What the heck; life, even life-in-death, was about embracing new situations. Having resolved to do something human, Jack did a quick once-over to make sure Stesha was all right before joining Moira in the bedroom. "We'll have to be quiet," he warned her as he closed the door behind him, shutting off the light from the bedroom a moment before he turned off the lights inside. The night was young yet, especially if it was your favorite time of day.
  16. If Doc Samson has taught us anything, it's don't cut green hair if you're super-powered! I think you've got a good case for your moderate drawback. It would take some policing and use of the timeline to make sure you were getting the full cost value for it, but it could still work. (You're active enough that having the character impeded across contemporary threads would be more than feasible, and a serious impediment to boot!) I don't quite know how to model Weakness for straight Instant damage, though, the book isn't very specific in that area. You might have to adapt it to a check or bonus penalty. (Or even make it a little worse; being 'out of breath' all the time could easily hurt you enough to be a moderate drawback.)
  17. Why did I tell her my name again? Oh yeah, because sometimes she looks at me like that. Jack had initially been resistant to Moira's charms when they first met, years of living close to Melinda and Claudia had given him a natural resistance to an overwhelmingly pretty face. But now he did know Moira, and knew she was trustworthy, and hot, and...Hey, biting a goddess! There's a great idea! Visions of his head bursting into flames, then exploding, let him concentrate on the conversation as he said, "Huh, well, it sounds like you've got a pretty diverse group there. You've got your aerial support, your sneaky person, your flower girl, your powerhouse..." But who says you have to bite her? You don't do that _every_ time you're intimate with a lady. Only most of the time, actually. But it seemed like it would be different with Moira. Very different.
  18. "You're right," Marionette admitted. Looking down at the old woman in the bed, she folded her red-gloved hands open and shut, open and shut, the leather squeaking slightly. "Killing her would have made me feel a lot better, but it's pointless now. She's already dead. Her family would probably buy me a gold medal for saving them the trouble." She sighed, shaking her head, before focusing on Ace as the air around her seemed to crackle. "You're still alive, aren't you?" she asked Ace suddenly, her eyes glowing white. "Still alive, and still young, when everyone else is OLD AND DEAD!"
  19. "I'll do everything I can to make sure no one dies on my watch," agreed Jack quietly, his angry mood broken by the conciliations from his friends. He rubbed his eyes, looking profoundly fatigued. "My injuries will have healed completely by tomorrow night. I'll contact what allies I have then...and then fight Melinda." He looked down at himself, a look on his face that was hard to read. "I'll just go put some pants on," he said quietly, excusing himself to walk past Scarab and Dark Star into the living quarters. Feeling an unaccustomed, bone-deep fatigue, he changed into red and gold. What the heck; it was the Scarab's place; might as well wear her colors.
  20. When Scarab has finished passing along all that the various teams have learned about the menace in the other dimension, Avenger was the first to speak. "So we go there ourselves," he said, not really making a suggestion. "Need to get there, get the job done." He shot an inquiring look at Phantom, not wanting to come out and admit that he didn't actually know that much about how her powers worked. If not her, they'd probably have to jump into some crazy time vortex of Dr. Archeville's, and he wasn't really thrilled at letting the scientist get his hands on him. This is no time for bigotry. Not all German scientists are madmen. Admittedly, he couldn't think of any. Rachel and Ray Trask volunteered to open their minds to Scarab's mental probes as much as possible, but the mental blocks that someone (likely Arachnos) had put in place were very difficult to get around. They had solid recollections of the layout of Freedom City (a name it still bore, painfully enough) and how to enter the World Tower, but the layout and security inside wasn't something they could force themselves to remember. It would take a deeper probe for that. There was at least no sign of a deadly failsafe in their brains, a sign of either the enemy's capacity for mercy...or his arrogance.
  21. Hey Doc, is it time for you know who to show up with you know what?
  22. Well, you did say you spent the HP on your power-stunt in your original OOC post, Quote, so it looks like you're just at 2 HP and not-Fatigued. So you're probably OK. But I dunno, we're all just marking time here. :)
