  1. OK, wouldn't Transmit be up to 9 ranks though? With the extra, it's 2 pp/rank.That's really the reason I raised the cost, I want him to have worldwide travel.
  2. So, does this work as an array?: Electrical Control: default Blast 6 (extra: Area [cloud]) AP: Dazzle (visual) AP: Transmit (extra: Accurate) AP: Datalink (PF: cyberspace) for a total of 21 pp. The main thing I'm uncertain about here, is the fact that I added an extra to the default effect in order to raise the total cost of the default power while staying within PL limits. Is that kosher? This is actually an ideal way for me to arrange the character's powers, given that he can only use one of these at a time, and his alternate form powers are still available to him.
  3. Alright, that makes much more sense now, thanks Doc! I'll have to go over all the possible configurations tonight, methinks.
  4. The absorption is for healing, and in regards to making datalink an ap, that wouldn't actually change the cost any, since it's only 2 pts as is, would it? Also, if I were to use electricity control to make an array, that makes blast redundant, since that is the default setting of electricity control. I guess what I really don't understand here is the math behind the array structure, how the full cost of the array is figured. I was intending him to be able to transmit from his normal human form, but that comment about becoming energy first does make sense. I certainly want him to be able to use datalink without becoming energy, though. Also, I'm a bit confused about using absorption for boost; do you pick one thing that it boosts when you take the power, or do you decide when the energy is absorbed? I think I'll still use it for healing though, the idea being that if he gets hurt, he can run to a wall socket and "energize" himself to recuperate.
  5. Okay, so I'm looking over my powers here, and I can't decide whether I ought to put them all in an array, or keep them independent (math is not my strong suit). So far, I have Datalink 1 with the Cyberspace feat (2 pts), Transmit 9 with the Accurate extra (18 pts), Absorption (healing) 5 limited to Electricity (10 pts), Alternate Form 7 with Insubstantial 3 and Energy Aura 5 (35 pts), and Blast 5 (10 pts). I think it may be a bit too much to afford after buying skills and abilities and whatnot, but I don't completely understand the Array structure, so I don't know if it would be cheaper or not. Can anybody more capable with the crunchy bits walk me through this? I looked at Electrical Control, which is an array, but some things were listed as possible alternate powers, and others as related effects, and I guess I just don't understand the distinction. I think I can get by with 75 pts spent on powers, but if the array is cheaper, I think that may be the better option, especially considering all these powers are aspects of the same basic ability with electricity.
  6. Thanks for the help! I may have some more questions later on, after I've worked on the array a bit.
  7. Just working on a PL 6 villain, and ran into a few uncertainties, think I've got them figured, but wanted to double check with the more experienced people on the board. First, Transmit is described in Ultimate Powers as being a teleport effect using a medium, like taking teleport with that flaw. As such, does it suffer from the same limitations, mainly needing to be able to perceive the location or have the Accurate extra? Second, if said character has datalink and cyberspace, and can insert himself into a computer or server at the location he wants to enter, is that enough to transmit there through that computer, or does he need to see the physical location visually first? (assuming he doesn't take accurate, or even if he does) Third, in choosing a medium for transmit, the book uses "Networks" as an example, and electrical and data networks as examples of that. Now, is "Networks" a specific enough medium, or would different kinds of networks require different versions of the power? And fourth, if one power in an array has a power feat (not an extra) that also applies to another power in the same array, do you need to take the feat again, or will it apply to both powers from taking it the first time? I suddenly remember exasperating my teachers in elementary for some reason....
  8. Hoping no one has seen him arrive yet, Colton teleports up to a nearby rooftop and opens fire on three of the minions standing guard there, dropping only one. OOC: Teleport to square E15, attack minions at squares E11, I11, and I15 by walking autofire. Drops the one at I11.
  9. As Colton arrives on the scene, he sees the police taking fire and rethinks his original plan of riding his bike through the scene, and jousting whoever he came across. He decides instead that the thing to do is park behind the car in front of him and bring his assault rifle to bear. Initiative (1d20+4=8)
  10. Colton Browning -- PL10 -- Attack +5 (+10 ranged)-- DEF +6 (+3 flat-footed)-- Damage Varies by weapon-- Tough 14-- Fort 9-- Ref 9-- Will 6 Colt will come in at A3, but shh, you don't know it's him ;)
  11. I really like that blend of the Warbird and '70s Miss Marvel costume. Is that your idea, or did you see it used somewhere else? Another fantastic drawing, all the same!
  12. Colton glances at his wrist (despite not wearing a watch). "Uh, yeah, I really should run, myself." he says, and takes off in the opposite direction from Aaron, heading for the nearest dark corner. As soon as he is confident no one is watching, Colt teleports directly to the roof of his house, and using short teleports from one out of the way spot to another, makes his way to the impound. After a brief and uneventful exchange with the man behind the desk, Colt reclaims his bike, and heads home. He grabs his sword and knife, stocks up on rubber bullets, refills the utility bandoleer across his chest, and straps the sword and assault rifle to his back. After ensuring everything is thoroughly attached, Colt sets the GPS to direct him to Moore and California, and pays little mind to the traffic laws on the way.
  13. I stated in my in-game post that he was only using non-lethal ammo when he was arrested, so I'd assume that's what he has on him. And reloading is why he has Quick Draw 2 ;)
  14. Colton has his armor in one bag, an assault rifle, uzi, heavy pistol, and light pistol in the other. His utility pack I considered to be attached to the armor, but that is a lot of his miscellaneous items, so I'll understand if you don't like that bit. The two sets of goggles are part of his helmet, along with the rebreather and camera. The sniper, binocs, laptop, tracers, and obviously the motorcycle, are not present. Probably has the multitool and cell phone in a pocket, I mean, I do now, so that's not too much of a stretch.

Um, mine is the, uh, Koaladolphin. See, you take two endangered species and combine them, thus making an even more endangered species. You know, really, I'm just gonna blame it on these guys: Least I Could Do, it's their pic, after all.
  16. Hey, I just thought I would drop a line and see if you were still taking requests, or if you have your time filled up already. I really like what I've seen here, though a lot of the images didn't show up for some reason. I have a commando style character, dressed all in black with lots of weapons. I especially liked the look of Gears, btw.
  17. Colton prefers conventional weapons, but he'll use energy weapons when he must. He's simply old fashioned, is all.
  18. Colt laughs to himself a little at the Norseman's comment. "Well, it is a bad neighborhood, and I've got things to carry. But I suppose it is bad manners not to have introduced myself. Colton Browning, Paramilitary Specialist and part-time Troubleshooter." Colt sets down the bag in his right hand and puts it out to shake, hoping it won't hurt too much. _________________________________________________________________________________________ Edit: Notice Check (1d20 10=25) [VUA] Did I do that wrong, as far as the tag? Should I have done that on Invisible Castle? I have no idea what you meant.
  19. Colt gives the boy an exasperated look, he hasn't had to deal with the younger generation much, and forgot what that kind of faith in law enforcement was like. "For what? A friendly conversation? Well, more or less. Fella's well within his rights to dress as funny as he wants, long as he's dressed. And they just released me with no charges, I doubt they're keen on arresting me again within twenty minutes. Oh, I think that's my cab down the street, anyone else want a ride?" Colt hoists his bags up over his shoulders and sticks out a hand and whistles at the cabbie, still a block or so away.
  20. If you have some ideas and want to ref, that's fine with me. I had a couple thought up, but I hate to ref my own character, not cheating can be stressful ;)
  21. Colt cocks his head at the Norseman's antiquated speech. "'Carraige?' You been under a rock awhile, friend? It's a car, or a truck, or van, or, well, you know what? It is kind of confusing, isn't it? Regardless, you are far from the only fearsome fella' in Southside. Hell, one a' these bags is full a' guns and live ammo, and no one has any idea. Don't look at me like that, it's not like I'm gonna start shooting people, I'm on my way home."
  22. As Colt sat on the Precinct steps, his eyes couldn't help but be drawn to the giant viking causing such commotion walking down the sidewalk. Until he saw the boy, of course. Wasn't gonna budge, was he? Colt thought for a second. "One kid, alone, in Southside, not reacting to this very unusual fella' coming towards him at all? He's either got balls like asteroids, powers, or he's high as a kite. Bad thing about this city, is all three are equally likely." After the boy gave him a cursory glance before looking away, Colton hopped up off the steps, and headed for the youngster, calling as he went, "Hey! Isn't it a bit late for a kid your age to be wandering around Southside all alone? I mean, I know the police station's right here, but who's that stopping in this city?" Colton came to an abrupt halt about ten feet from the boy, not wanting to seem violent himself, and also realizing that there was the ever-rising possibility that the kid was both high as a kite AND a super. Colton cursed the number of metas, or supers, or whatever in this city for the thousandth time in the week he'd been here, only briefly dwelling on the hypocrisy. "I mean, look at this fella'. He could take us both apart and be gone before the cops realized he'd been by, most likely. Shouldn't you be gettin' home anyway? Don't you got cab fare? Hell, I'll loan you a fiver or two if you need it." Colton thought about what his mother told him last week on the phone, "You know, stopping gang violence doesn't always have to mean using more violence. Help the community, and the community will stop the violence itself." "Well, mom, hope you're happy, I'm trying it your way." Colt thought.
  23. I was just gonna confront a kid about wandering around Southside all alone, but is that too simple? And sorry I haven't done it yet, been working overtime all week, keeping me fairly busy.
  24. Okay, started a thread, titled "A Very Unlikely Assembly" in Southside. Sorry it took so long, been busy.
