  1. Colton sat in the spartan room, with its cinder block walls, steel table, and lone light bulb, completely non-responsive. His armor, his keys, and a sizable portion of his arsenal on the table in front of him. His helmet stared back at him, the black flash goggles reflecting the light above his head. His hands were cuffed behind the chair, but that wasn't what stopped him getting out, it simply wasn't the smart thing to do right now. Officer Powalski sat across from him, examining Colton's sword, its rather unique form intriguing, and very unfamiliar. Hoping he'd stalled long enough, Officer Powalski looked up, trying to meet Colton's eyes directly and seriously. He was surprised to find, however, that the man he was trying to interrogate was paying him no mind, and sat quietly, staring at his helmet, as it stared back at him. By the time Colton lifted his head to meet the officer's gaze, his serious gaze had drifted into an exasperated, weary stare. We've been over this, officer, and I can't make myself any more clear. The anonymous tip went unanswered, and something needed to be done. They were selling drugs to anyone who would take them, and extorting everyone else. Something had to be done, and you weren't doing it. So I did. That's not your job, and that doesn't excuse breaking and entering, murder, and aggravated assault. We have you and your bike on the scene, some limited camera footage, and more than a few eyewitnesses- -All of whom have extensive criminal records and most of which have logged some serious jail time. And if anyone died, it was from their comrade's bullets, I only used riot ammo and sleep gas. Oh, and flashbangs, but only a couple of those. I didn't kill anyone, and I snuck in behind them, they had broken into the place to begin with. But I digress, that's not what we're here for. So, you say that anonymous tip, and all the alleged evidence, is no longer anonymous, that was you? Then where is all this evidence? In that helmet of course. Why do you think I've been staring at it, genius? there's a memory stick on each side of the rebreather. One contains all my research on those boys, the other is a recording of their meeting, and the fight. You want evidence? There you have it. You really did plan all this out, huh? Handing us all this evidence, and these boys, on a silver platter? That's awful noble of you, being as it got you arrested. I didn't get caught, you realize this, yeah? I gave myself up, so you'd get this, and so you would see exactly what I did, and not have to live as a fugitive. I've got a reputation to upkeep, you know? So when I see this, I'm just gonna let you go, huh? Proves your innocence, does it? Only if this is still America, and I still have the right to self defense, and to enter a public building. What? That building is public property, I checked, it's not been in use for years, but the deed is still in the city's hands. Now, if it were posted that one could not enter, or that it were condemned, or even locked, then yeah, trespassing would certainly apply. But seeing as I basically just walked in the door of a public building, and was shot at upon my entry, I'm pretty sure I was fully within my legal rights to do exactly what I did. Go ahead, have a look. The password to the left one is "Conquest" and the one on the right is "Little Room" You're serious? No, of course you're serious. You wait here, we'll have a look at those. Two hours later, Colt waited outside the precinct house, with a couple of police issue duffel bags containing his belongings, waiting for a taxi home, which was only a short walk from the impound where he could retrieve his bike. Luckily, no one had found the rather illegal modifications to it, and he would be allowed to just leave with it, with the thanks of the FCPD. Thank the stars he hadn't started recording until after he beat the location of the meet out of a couple of goons. Now it's time for a beer and a bath, and hopefully his exploits will be apparent on the eleven o'clock news.
  2. I'll start a thread in Southside sometime tonight then, cooking dinner right now. Any ideas for the name?
  3. Alright, I'm on it! What kind of game you guys want to play? What kind of characters are you? And what part of the city should it be in? I'm a somewhat violent "bad-ass normal" as tv tropes would call it, and I think I like southside, but that's mainly because of the mob presence, I could go with something else.
  4. Hey! I've got no idea what I'm doing, either!! It was suggested I find someone to start a thread with. What say you we find a GM, and start our own?
  5. Right you are, that was 119. Alright, now hopefully THAT is a finished character. :D
  6. Okay, those are fixed, and I'm probably gonna move some more points into defense later, bring it up to 6, but I don't have time to do the math just this second, so I'll get to it soon. Probably take the points from skills, and maybe get rid of benefit: wealth, or a couple more pieces of equipment. ____________________________________________________________________ Alright, I think that's all my edits for now, hopefully that's a finished character.
  7. Wow, I, uh, really cannot believe I forgot to include my defense stats. That's more amateurish than even I thought I'd been. Defense is 10, and I'll probably do the device, I'll need to have a look at it, buy it up to 10. I opted for a balance between the two, rather than specializing in one. The idea being, that he's good, but not super (except for the teleporting, of course). And I just included the descriptor/origin with his name, he's a mutant, born with the teleportation, and the predilection for firearms, as well.
  8. Players Name: VideoGeek Power Level: 11 (152 pp) PP Unspent: 2 Characters Name: Colton Browning Alternate Identity: CK-045 Origin: Mutant Height: 5'11†Weight: 190 Hair: Brown Eyes: Blue Description: Colt is a stocky, muscular man in his late 20's. He wears his hair brushed back, and parted in the center. He has a somewhat sullen demeanor, and is not especially social. He usually dresses in simple, casual fashions, such as loose blue jeans and bunched up long sleeves, on the rare occasion that he is not dressed in his personal black body armor. Colt's favorite fashion accessory, however, is guns. Lots of them. Not a fan of energy weapons, Colton sticks to conventional arms whenever possible. He carries various ammunitions, lethal and non-lethal, as fits the situation. He tries to avoid innocent deaths, but does not obsess over them. Colton's stated objective is key, and he will not stop until it is accomplished, or the goal changes. History: Colton has always been hard to pin down. In school, he was a troublemaker, a vandal, a thief, and prone to fighting. He wasn't a bully, however, he reveled in a fair fight. As school wore on, he continued this way, his conduct preventing him from ever really being involved in school activities. As his inevitable scrapes with the law began to build, Colton was approached by a military officer working with UNISON. Upon graduation, Colton would be trained and employed by UNISON as an independent undercover peacekeeping operative, in exchange for a clearing of his criminal record to date. Colt proved to be a natural for his position, dedication and a knack for precision combining to make his assignments go off consistently cleaner than expected (his teleportation ability also helped greatly, but his superiors need never know about that). He was eventually promoted to Solo status, and found himself with much more free time between assignments. He took up residence in Freedom City, wagering that there, of all places, there would be no shortage of mercenary and freelance work to stay in practice and pad his resume, and his pocketbook. 9. Point taken. Alright, scratch that concept then. Thanks for the help, hate to go to all the trouble of making the character to realize I couldn't use it.
  10. I suspected as such. I might work on an alternate build of the character, save the real thing for use as an NPC someday. Now, would there be the same level of opposition to Precognition? With the Uncontrollable flaw if necessary? And I'm still wondering if anyone has any ideas on that time travel build, because it seems crunchy.
  11. I have been looking into a character with limited time travel abilities (i.e. one day into the past or future), but I haven't figured out how to create that in-game. Also, would any of the GM's on the site be willing to allow such a character in their games to begin with? (I promise not to abuse it!)
  12. ¡Hola! My name is Bill, but I am secretly the illustrious VideoGeek! I'm new to MnM, but not PbP, and certainly not to RP. I started playing with ADnD 2nd ed., then DnD 3.0/3.5, then Aberrant, then Marvel Supers, then Star Wars D20, until one day, something magical happened. I was partaking in my webcomic habit, and happened to read Dom's rant on megatokyo. He mentioned this game his group likes to play, and I looked into it, and thought it sounded interesting. Then there was a chicken or something, ADD kicked in, and I forgot. Then I went to the city a few weeks later and saw a hard copy of the book, it all rushed back, and I immediately bought it. Three guesses what the book was.... Boring story aside, before anyone asks, the name didn't actually come from anywhere, I just needed a net handle, and I was way into anime and my Xbox at the time, and I'm about the biggest geek I know (IRL, anyway), so there it was. Since then, steady RPing groups have come and gone, and I've dropped/flunked out of two schools (I'm not a moron, just a terrible student.), and living in the boonies as I do, there's no face to face opportunity around, so PbP is my friend. I devour comics like candy, game whenever possible, and otherwise am very lazy. I work in a payday loan office here, which pays well (by local standards) and doesn't require that I do much actual work. Just bought a house, and have been completely overwhelmed by the amount of work and money having your own house requires. Found this site by way of Atomic Think Tank, where I haven't actually posted yet, either. Working on a telekinetic array today, and if that goes well, I'll be looking to join a game here shortly. Comments, questions, or insults can be sent to aninnocentchild@gmail.com to be laughed at heartily.
