    Avatars

Almost everything Jim Steinman does is based on Peter Pan/Neverland.
  4. As I think more on it, I am going to give first shot to those characters who are not currently in an adventure. Seems fairest (to me) for those folks to get first crack at a new adventure. (And it cuts down on the "Wolverine Syndrome" ) So, show of hands, who here is not currently in an active adventure? I know Legionnaire is in one (with my own character, no less); who else? I'm guessing Nightshyft is free, seeing as how he was just approved.
  5. I'm a tad leery about letting in characters who are currently in an active adventure... but if I completely omitted them, I'd have a far smaller pool of potential players! Would those of you who do not have a link to your characters in your sig kindly provide a link to them? It'd make things a tiny bit easier on me :)
  6. I have no idea what you mean. Here, have some Kool-Aid and relax....
  7. While a very cool idea (and one I certainly appreciate given my own character's good/evil straddling), I would prefer to keep this particular adventure fairly simple and straightforward, and so ask only for true heroes. If there's a scarcity of applicants, though, I could be persuaded to alter my plans enough to allow Exile in ;)
  8. Adventure Name: "The Creeping Killers" Adventure Start Date: I will begin on April 1st (possibly March 31st). The adventure itself will be taking place in late spring/early summer. Location(s): North Freedom/Hanover, mostly. Accepting: 3-5 Heroes, any PL. First pick for those characters who are not currently involved in any active adventures. Estimated Length: Short. Some investigation work leading to a fight. Fight may be short or prolonged, depending on various factors. Once fight is wrapped up, some minor clean-up. Details: See news report, here. Player Roster: 1) Catherine Kato (PL 6) 2) Mongrel Angel (PL 6) 3) 4) 5)
  9. "Our breaking story: shock rolled through Hanover today as a third mutilated body was found along the trails of the Promenade, one Alex McGee, a graduate student in zoology at Freedom City University. Police have released few details, save that, like the bodies of Eve O'Nell and Alvin Oates, the victims were severely burned by some type of acid. One eyewitness, a vagrant , claims to have seen the attackers, though upon questioning could not give any solid leads. Despite a small but vocal public outcry, Police Commissioner Barbara Kane has not assigned the STAR Squad to this case, claiming there is not yet enough evidence to suspect true superhuman activity, nor did she offer to comment on any link between these three FCU graduate students. All visitors to the Promenade are urged to travel in groups and only in well-lit areas, and to report any unusual activity as soon as it's seen...."
  10. Just before, if possible Since my initiative's so low (lower even than nareik's!), lots of things could happen that'd impact what I would/could do. Oh, and a reminder to folks, I'll be away from the 'net for most of this Friday and weekend (I'm gettin' married!). Also, in the "A New Day, A New Away" thread, Jack said that he'd be away and posting infrequently for the next few days.
  11. Which is sorta a shame, since Cryptic's going to be changing things around (visually, at the very least), and anything published by HERO Games for the Champions tabletop game will have to reflect that new Champions-verse, not the one seen in the currently-available books. So there may be confusion.
  12. Oh, important point, Archeville is currently wounded, he's got a Bruise after his run-in with Dryad.
  13. It was a testament to the persistence of Freedom-ians that the club had already started getting back into the swing of things, despite the superpowered tussle from just a few moments ago. Archeville looked back and forth between the fallen, crumpled plant-girl and Keira & the odd time-tossed Roman. Hearing the approaching police sirens (in response to his 'message') nudged him to go with his two new associates and investigate this new trouble. As he headed out he paused at the bouncer, "If you see eizher zhe Star-man, or zhe young man who came in mit zhe dark girl und me, tell him ve've gone zhat vay." He pointed towards Legionnaire, then continued after them via gravimetric flight, activating his force field as he went. "I try not to melee," he said as he moved to the left side of the Roman, leaving enough room for him to maneuver, "but can do so vhen zhe situation calls for it." To the Roman's surprise, the German did not take any sort of fighting stance, but instead seemed to merely point at one of the yellow-clad foes. "Oy!," he called out to the one on the left, "who are you? Vhat do you vant, und vhere is zhis man's friend, Valencia?"
  14. That's a great pic for Archeville No one used any Hero Points in "A New Way, a New Day". Initiative is.... (1d20+1 = 5)
  15. I'm still interested. And, yes, that map is exceedingly awesome!
  16. Cosmicarus, please check the New Day, New Way OOC thread (and maybe the IC one, too). There may be things relevant to Archeville's potential joining the adventure.
  17. Thanks Legionnaire seems to be running off. My character's expressed an interest in joining, but I don't know if nareik (or the GM, Cosmicarus) would want Star & Kizzy in. The way I see it, things are at a point in the story where we could easily all transfer to the new story, running off to join the mysterious Roman (possibly leaving Dryad to slink away just before the cops arrive). Would Alan & Keira want to follow the Roman, or continue clubbing, or something else? If they don't want to follow the Roman, I'd be happy to continue acting as GM for you two here. Nareik, would you want others there with you? Comsicarus (if you're here), would you be okay GMing up to four people?
  18. Since it looks like things may be headed this way (as seen in "A New Day, A New Way"), would you be adverse to Archeville tagging along?
  19. "I... vould be most interested in meeting her. Not zhat I don't believe you, it's just zhat I am also somewhat new here, too."
  20. "Evidence, ja," Archeville said as he turned to Keira, "but also... trophies. Und a vay for me to fulfill mein promise: to help her. Best to have as many minds vorking on a vay to cure her as possible, und I can do so at mein own laboratory, razher zhan take up space at ASTRO Labs or zhe Albright Institute. As for contamination, I highly doubt her hybrid biochemistry could house anything communicable to myself, and even if it did, mein force field protects me as vell as any gloves." "Speaking of protection, perhaps you should go check on Alan's safety," he added with a hint of a "go away, kid, you bother me" tone, "or keep an eye on zhe plant-girl until zhe police arrive." "Now," he spun back to face the Roman, "you say you are not native to zhis time? Und zhat 'Valencia' knows more? Who is she? Vhere is she? Is she zhe one who pulled you out of zhe past?"
  21. I'll be away all Friday and this weekend, as I'm getting married! :)
  22. Hope you had a good trip! Oh, I'll be leaving in about a week, too -- getting married on Friday, mini-honeymoon'll be that weekend. :)
  23. Archeville shook his head (as if clearing mental cobwebs) as the metallic figure flew off, then had his attention drawn to the teenaged drone of Keira. "Vell, as I vas telling zhe... Star-man, ve had best call zhe local constabulary. Zhey haff several vays of holding superpowered criminals, und if ve can get zhem here before zhe regains consciousness, zhe better." As Archeville spoke, one hand kept manipulating the glowing, blinking rod-like device in his hand. He saw a green light on one end flicker on, and smiled. "Und zhat's exactly vhat I haff done -- zhe police vere already on zhe vay in response to zhe disturbance, und mit zhis device I accessed the onboard computers on zheir cars to give zhem some brief details." He turned and knelt back down by the plant-girl, collecting a sample of the green ichor flowing from her wounds into a tiny stoppered glass vial, and placed the thorn she'd shot out at him into a separate small plastic baggie, then placed both into one of his labcoat pockets. "Ja, I did see you hit her, Keira, you did quite vell. I'm sure your parents vould be proud." He stood to face her, "AS for being a superhero: vell, you have zhe energy, certainly, und zhe power, but you vould do vell to learn more... focus. Und some tactics, too." Archeville peered past Keira and saw the newcomer, Cassius. "Odd, I didn't zhink zhe police here took to dressing in zhe style of zhe Centurion..."
