  1. Which is the second (technical/game rules-specific) thing I pointed out ;)
  2. Unknown. Personally, I'd say no, but there is pseudo-precedent for allowing it: Jack-A-Knives, the Murder Spirit of Freedom City, has Strike 2 (Penetrating 18, Mighty). The book does not say if this means the host gains Strike 2 (Mighty) with Penetrating equal to the total damage rank (up to 18), or if it means it grants the host Strike 2 (Mighty) and the full Penetrating 18. I've asked Kenson at the ATT, here. Hopefully he'll answer somewhat soon.

  4. It'd make it so nobody but you (or the wearer of the T.H.O.R. armor) can use it, and only a limited group can even lift it. Who/what that group is would be up to you, based on descriptors.

  6. Okay, looks like Dryad failed her save against Star's Blast by 14, meaning she's both Stunned (cannot take actions, lose dodge bonus to Defense, and suffer an additional -2 to Defense) for a round & Staggered (can only take a single standard or move action each round) for at least an hour. This doesn't mean she's beaten per se, but she's close to it. I, for one, would not mind seeing this go on a bit longer. Since she's the villain of this story, there might can be some way we can do a "GM Fiat" where she can gain the benefit of a Hero point (I'd suggest either "Improve Roll" or "Recover") save in exchange for one or more of us (probably just Alan, since it was his attack) getting a Hero Point. We should probably contact the mods/admins for that, though (I'm still not entirely sure how player-run adventures should be handled here).

  8. By the book, it appears to be a "you know people in all sorts of places who may be willing to help you out in a number of situation" thing. I could maybe see buying a limited form of Enhanced Skill (Diplomacy), "only for Connected checks pertaining to X type of people/organizations".

  10. Well, remember, someone bought via the Sidekick feat isn't necessarily a "subservient lesser," it's just someone you can consistently count on. And for some inventor making a THOR-ish armor, naming the wise, advice-giving supercomputer ODIN makes some sense.

  12. Bah! Do what you want! So what if there's already another character in another book that has some similarities? It's still your character! Besides, given how many millions of comics there are out there and dozens upon dozens of RPG books, it'd be nigh-impossible to come up with a character that didn't share something with some other already-published character!

  14. Alan's blast may've hit Dryad -- if she's Stunned for the round (and from the description, I think she is), her Defense is low enough that he would've hit. Which calls for either a DC 25 Toughness save (if he used his Blast), or a DC 20 Reflex save (if he used the Dazzle; from the post it's hard for me to tell which one he used).

  18. Willis, the PARAGONS book has a power suited char (named Valkyrie) with an A.I. sidekick (bought as a Sidekick) named ODIN! I'm sure no Germanic mad scientist had anything to do with it..... ;)

  20. Sounds nifty Tactical Harness for Offensive Response Threat and Hazard Operation Responder Transuranic Hyperpolarized Oscillating Radiator (refers to the ultra-tech nuclear reactor core powering the armor) Would O.D.I.N. be a full A.I. (i.e., a Sidekick), or just the fluff-text for some feature of the armor (like Enhanced Skills or Feats)?

  22. That's not a character, though, that's just a faceless, history-less mass of powers. Unwritten Rule #1: If it's too good to be true, it probably is. Unwritten Rule #2: The Rules As Written (RAW) cannot possibly cover each and every concept a player can come up with. If something is allowable by the RAW but still 'feels' off, a GM is completely free to disallow it in the interests of making things both fun and challenging for everyone. Heroes (one could even say Characters in General) are defined in part by their abilities, but they're also defined by how they strive to exceed their limitations.

  24. Fair enough, and it is a solution I'm readily able to work with :)
