  1. okay here's Leviathan's save vs DC 25 16, gonna hp re-roll that nonsense 26 much better! :D
  2. Okay so, re-submitting the character edits for Spitfire : take out the 1 ep for Caltrops as it puts his point total in equipment over by 1. (I honestly don't remember why I even put that in there in the first place!) Take out the costume's immunity to Fire Effects and pump that point from equipment in to will saves So the costume should read like this: Fire-Retardant Costume: Protection 3 [3EP] Oh yeah and his Fire eater tricks array should be rank 15.5 not 156.5 hehe Also pump remaining power point into will saves as well, so will save should be: Will +7 (+2 Wis, +5) Incinerated by Supercape
  3. Leviathan Something Fishy - 9 Something Fishy Part II - 3
  4. Leviathan Leviathan cursed under his breath as things went from heated to boiling and weapons were drawn. He did not wish to reveal his true appearance, especially to the Atlanteans, who had nothing but a deep prejudice for his kind. Having little choice in the matter, and deciding to show restraint instead of blatant violence, Veijlial conjured black tentacles from below the Atlantean Warlord, attempting to fix him to his place and keep him from attacking his allies. The tentacles had little effect, however, as the warlord sidestepped the gathering pool of darkness beneath his feet. As the spell formed, Leviathan's prior spell dissipated, and the Atlantean facade melted away, revealing the scaled green-black flesh beneath. His teeth became pointed monstrosities and his eyes clouded to a deep soul-swallowing ebony. Leviathan did not attempt to hide the transformation, hoping it might take the Atlanteans aback enough to offer his friends an advantage. "As you can see sire, the term 'rebel' doesn't quite do me justice."
  5. ok so Leviathan is going to try and snare the big Warlord, let's see if he can even hit the poor schlub 11 Not even close. I'll mark that down and have him move to a shadowy area of the room, if there's any to be had. I'll toss in an IC post as soon as Lord Steam's attacks versus the minions has been cleared up.
  6. ok, gonna have Leviathan take a beleagured shot at talking the situation down a bit, considering he apparently looks like an Atlantean at the moment. 13 considering a +0 modifier it's not terrible but I wasn't expecting much, heh
  7. Leviathan Sensing that his apparent heritage might work in his favor, Leviathan stepped forward and pulled the hood from over his head to display his Atlantean features. "Forgive the hasty intrusion, sirs, madam. We heard screaming and thought that someone might be in danger. I assure you that whatever the ambassador has done, we are not at all part of her plot. As for you ambassador, you have a serious crime to answer for. Not only to the Realm, which you deprived one of it's sons through murder, but also to Freedom City, for committing such an atrocious act in their city. Gentleman, I understand that a question of jurisdiction in regards to the murder, might I suggest that you let us take the ambassador into custody and we can sort out the proverbial red tape down at the police station? Veijlial put on his best smile while silently sizing up all players in the room, trying to decide which would be the largest threat should this little foray get ugly.
  8. Leviathan Leviathan stepped from the car on shaky legs. Having never traveled by car before, let alone one as... unique as Lord Steam's, Leviathan was left winded with heart racing. Sure, he could instantly jump from one shadow to another, but that was not velocity, it was negating physics. Leviathan was acutely aware the entire ride that at such velocities, physics weren't easily negated in the case of such things as a collision. Before Veijlial had time to properly compose himself a scream was heard from inside the house, the rest of the party reacted much quicker than him, which was for the best. Leviathan was not at all prepared to reveal his true heritage unless absolutely necessary. Revenant's feat of strength saved him from having to work any magic that would require dropping his facade. While rushing along behind Revenant Leviathan tried to take stock of all he saw, especially the shadowy areas and winced at all the expensive decor he saw. He hoped the ones screaming would be grateful enough to understand any collateral damage that came from rescuing them as his magic wasn't exactly... subtle sometimes.
  9. okies here we are: Notice is 14 Okay, Leviathan's gonna follow everyone in, trying to hold off dropping his disguise to the last possible second.
  10. Leviathan The interrogation process rolled along well enough, and considering Veijlial's less than stellar people skills he spent the time studying the techniques of his compatriots as they went about the business of investigation and interrogation. To learn that the murderess was the ambassador to Atlantis was shocking enough, but to hear it could have simply been over a love affair with a younger Atlantean was almost too "day time soap opera" to be believed. Veijlial had a feeling something greater was happening here, but seeing as he had little clue as to what that was, he decided to keep the thought to himself until he could further evolve his theory. When Lord Steam offered them a ride in his ridiculous car Veijlial raised an eyebrow in incredulity, but considering that if he were to teleport near the mansion he would have to drop his Atlantean disguise, Veijlial weighed the options thoroughly. "I see no harm in us all traveling together. It will afford us a better opportunity to bounce insights off one another." Veijlial walked up to the passenger door and held it open for Revenant, bowing and gesturing in the cab. "After you, Miss. I shall relinquish unto you the rights of "shotgun" as it were."
  11. Sorry I been away guys. Real life's been kickin me around last week or two. I'll get a post up soon.
  12. Leviathan Leviathan gave the officer an annoyed look and shook his head before letting go of the hands of his compatriots. "Well, that was a surprisingly productive effort, considering certain... distractions. We now have a description of the assailant, and who was last to see the Atlantean alive. We also know that he belonged to the noble house Ahdahr, though I admit ignorance to the significance of the family. Do either of you have inklings to the relevance of the name? If not, perhaps the good detective can give us a synopsis on what the constabulary knows of this house." Leviathan stood and broke the circle of symbols with his foot before gathering the rest of his supplies. What he wasn't telling his compatriots was that the scene truly perturbed him. If this was any way connected to the Serpent People, the link wasn't evident, though it wouldn't be a stretch to see the Serpent People working through cat's paws or hiring an assassin. Still, all that would get him is more conjecture and less truth, so he had to settle on what he did know and work from there. He knew the bouncers had tossed the Atlantean out. Now he needed to know why. "Are either of you skilled at the interviewing of witnesses? I am not what you would call a... people person. I suggest we talk to the bouncers of this establishment as soon as possible, the more time that lapses the less they will remember about what transpired."
  13. sorry it took so long to get this to you buuuut: Notice Check: 11 it's official, IC hates the crap out of me and search check: 23 ha! spoke too soon!
  14. Okays, here we are: Spitfire The Harvestfair Leviathan Something Fishy
  15. Leviathan Leviathan lifted one eyebrow quizzically at both Revenant and Lord Steam. Having lived most of his life in an unforgiving underwater environment with little time at all for merry making or mirth, Veijlial wasn’t well versed in jocularity of any kind. “This is no séance, this is true arcane power I wield, not some form of stage magic, and it would be wise not to mock such powers. I assure you the results of the ritual will speak for themselves. As for side effects suffered from this particular ritual the only one you are likely to experience is an increase in the frequency of the feeling of déjà vu for the next few days, nothing serious. Understand we are not actually going to go back in time, simply going to be passive observers of things already transpired. There will be no transformations involved, so there is little fear of odd cravings or alterations to one’s religious habits or character.†Hoping his explanation assuaged any lingering doubts as the safety of the experiment, Veijlial continued his chanting.
  16. Leviathan Veijlial let Revenant's question wash over him while he concentrated on the ritual, when he came a reasonable holding point he turned to look at her, a look of calmness stretched over his face. "What you speak of did not happen, per se, in that manner. Yes Atlantis sunk, but i was not due to Poseidon's wrath. For years Atlantis and Lemuria were at war. Lemuria was the kingdom of the Serpent People, and it rivaled Atlantis in both wonder and technology. Both cities sunk during what is known as the Great Cataclysm. Lemuria was lost to the Serpent People, and now reside in the subterranean lairs mostly. Atlanteans however, genetically adapted themselves to life in the deep dark of the ocean, and still reside in Atlantis to this day. This should not be taken as a full historical record of the accounts of Atlantis' sinking, mind you, there is much more than this that transpired to cause these troubling events, but I must return to the ritual." With that, Leviathan closed his eyes and continued his slow murmuring incantation.
  17. Leviathan Having formed the basis for the ritual to see into the past into his mind, Veijlial set off to find the object in question that was most likely to offer the most information. Finding a suitable candidate a piece of the Atlantean's jewelry, Leviathan patiently waited while Lord Steam completed his examination of the body before clearing his throat and speaking up. "Excuse me, fellow bretheren but I believe my services might shed some further light on this crime. I have the capability to perform a ritual, which will allow us to see into the past of some object, possibly garnering us a look at the murder and the assailant. However, since my investigatory skills are woefully lacking, I think it prudent that I bring you both along through this cerebral trip back in time. If you would be so kind as to join me. Officers if you would please offer us a wide birth, we might have more leads yet!" Leviathan removed the piece of shell jewelry from the Atlantean, and walked a short distance away from the corpse. Leviathan then drew a circle upon the grown, lining it with arcane symbols, setting the jewelry down in a smaller circle within the larger circle that housed Leviathan and the other heroes. Plucking a strand of hair from all gathered, he entertwined them into one long strand, then tied one end from his finger, to the piece of jewelry. Clearing his mind and closing his eyes he steadied his breath and prepared to speak the incantation. "If you two would be so good as to join hands with me, I will start the incantation." As Leviathan spoke the words of power, a slight vibration coursed through the bodies of the heroes, in an almost rythmic pattern like waves crashing against a rocky shore. They could all almost hear the sea in Leviathan's voice as it rose and fell like the tides, deepening the trance and the magic reverberations within them. Colors started to swirl behind the lids of their closed eyes, brilliant greens and blues dancing in a maelstrom of flashing lights. All these things built upon each other in a crescendo of the senses before an almost anticlimactic feeling of falling backwards overcame them all as the ritual completed, bringing them back in time, at least, in their minds.
  18. Alright, so I'm going to go ahead and try this ritual. Since my search and notice checks are awful I will add the affects others extra to bring everyone along, also going to jury rig the ritual to skip the design stage, making the DC 23 so here goes 11, blech gonna HP for a re-roll 25, alright! made it by the skin of my teeth. Doing the IC post now.
  19. Spitfire Spitfire, as his custom, played up their victory for the crowd while they waited for the AEGIS agents to show up with their do-hickeys. Turning to the crowd, arms outstretched and smiling widely, Spitfire let loose a gout of flame from his mouth straight into the air, which exploded 50 feet above him, sending a wave of heat and sparks through the air. "I tell ya, boys. This here is my favorite part of the hero biz: the adulation!" Spitfire then walked up to Bluesman and offered a hand in congratulations "Howdy friend, name's Spitfire. You did a right fine job takin' out those thugs. Yer a handy fella to have around! Not to mention I like yer style!" Spitfire went around offering similar congratulations and handshakes to the rest of the impromptu team, introducing himself, and commenting in some way or another on their respective abilities. He called Asad's performance "electrifying," he noted with some envy Quintessence's strength, and Weaver he was particularly delighted in, making a horrible pun about "pulling one over" on Mr. Mist's muscle, and "pulling the rug out from beneath" Mr. Mist's pompousness with his barbs. It was easily evident that Spitfire enjoyed the spotlight and the encouragement of the crowd, and knew how to play them, and it was also clear that he truly believed it an honor to work beside other heroes. Despite his naive enthusiasm over being a hero, it was easy to tell that the young Spitfire enjoyed helping others, even if he did so with a little more pomp and circumstance than was actually needed.
  20. It's totally fine with me to call an end to the combat. Now for the real fun: Victory lap!
  21. Wondering if it's possible to perform an arcane ritual that would allow me to do what is referred to as "object reading." That is to say, read the memory of an object or witness things that occured in the vicinity durinng an object's past. One might call it in game terms: Postcognition (limited to events experienced by touched objects) or what have you. If this would sort of jump the gun and reveal too much too soon, no big deal, just a thought.
  22. Leviathan Veijlial was somewhat surprised to note that Lord Steam was not acquainted with the Atlantean race, but he did his best to hide his incredulity for the sake of politeness. "Indeed sir, I will happily expunge all I know of Atlantean culture, if it might help the investigation. However, from my limited examination of the victim I can tell you that he is mostly likely from a noble house among my people, possibly a member of the royal advisory, or at least, his family is. More than that is clouded in the murky depths of uncertainty. As you might imagine, Atlanteans are of stronger physical stock than humans on average, due to living at increased pressures, we can also breathe underwater, and swim excellently. Other than this, Atlanteans are similar to humans physically, at least generally speaking, without delving into too deep a biological analysis." Leviathan scowled around the crime scene as he spoke, almost as if speaking to himself, making notes in his head instead of answering the questions of Lord Steam. "It should also be noted that I am not detecting in any way a modicum of arcane attachment to this crime. It would seem this was not perpetrated by occult interests. I would venture a guess that this murder was either committed as a crime of passion, or was politically motivated, due to the victim's stature within Atlantean society. I would tend to lean towards the latter. It is imperative we ascertain the identity of the victim more fully. As it might indeed lead to more clues to the motive of this attack." Leviathan shook his head, as if clearing his mind and looked to see Revenant interrogating the garbageman, which set off in Leviathan's brain a novel idea. What if it were possible to see what actually happened here? Leviathan made a run through of the arcane equipment he currently had on him and started searching the area.
  23. Hey Ari don't forget that being stunned makes him flat footed so that 19 should hit. Don't mean to be stepping on yer toes buddy, just reminding you
