  1. Leviathan As uncomfortable as the ride to Steam Mansion was, how Veijlial felt inside Steam's house was infinitely moreso. Being waited on by staff was something Leviathan was not at all used to, especially since he hadn't bothered returning to his disguised self. And the overwhelming presence of a distinctly alien technology to him, left Leviathan feeling alone and out of place. It was times like this that Veijlial especially missed the comfort of the deeps, and the company of his sea creature friends. Shaking off the homesickness and self pity, Leviathan put his mind to the task at hand, and followed Lord Steam to aid in the evaluation of the knife.
  2. Alright, Leviathan will try a Life Sciences check: 16 IC hates me SOOO much! lol
  3. Spitfire Spitfire walked over to inspect the panel and frowned. "No meltin' it? Yer jus' takin' the fun outta everythin' ain't ya?" Spitfire said with a smile before bending in closer to take a look, trying to find anything that might resemble a hidden catch, or push button to open the panel before turning back to King. "Yer absolutely positive ye don't want me ta melt it? I got some perdy fine control and I could simply cut the panel out ya know, least amount of damage possible and all that. But barrin' that I don't see nothing that would indicate a secret lever or nothin' either. Mayhaps if it's got hinges, and Synth here can locate em, I could just slag those areas, leave the thing mostly in tact."
  4. Alright this is going to be completely fruitless I'm sure but Spitfire's gonna try a search check 14 Yeah, unless it was hidden by a 10 year old with markers pointing to where it is, Spitfire isn't gonna find anything "hidden"
  5. Leviathan Leviathan was uncomfortable keeping things from his new found compatriots, being a Deep One, it was hard enough to garner trust without the added problem of keeping secrets from those one is supposedly in league with. However, he also understood the burden of mistrust, and if this Oma woman did not feel comfortable revealing something to these humans, it was not for him to coerce her. Grudgingly, Veijlial met the woman's eyes and a small nod accompanied a look of determination that crossed his face. Leviathan was unsure what game she was playing, but he felt he must see this game to its end to discover the truth.
  6. Leviathan Leviathan was, in a word, perplexed. Being slipped something by someone who he had been outwardly denuoncing was one thing, the fact that she was trying to hide it from his compatriots was another. Still, he had asked this Oma to trust him, and to out her now would do nothing to engender feelings of goodwill between them. Leviathan didn't know if his compatriots saw what she'd done, but he thought it best to work on the assumption that they hadn't. "Excuse me, I must attend to a private matter. I will be back momentarily." With that Leviathan moved to the shadows and teleported himself just outside the house into the shadows of the building. Carefully, Leviathan reached into his pocket...
  7. If you need some sort of diplomacy check for that last statement it's only a 10 prolly should invest in that skill huh?
  8. Leviathan Shock is a feeling that Veijlial was not at all familiar with, it ran through his body, leaving an almost tangible weight in his chest from it's passing. Eyes locked with this Oma woman, Veijlial felt all the pain, the loneliness, and the hopelessness of his years in exile. Alone, with nothing but the waves and the sea creatures to confide in, solitude was a prison Veijlial was not eager to experience again, despite his aloof nature. Suddenly, it almost seemed he understood this Oma creature, what lengths one would go to, just to belong. Veijlial still wasn't sure what the motive of this woman was, or even what she was, but he knew he couldn't hate her, no matter what she was. Looking for the first time, with understanding, into Oma's eyes Veijlial breathed, "Please, tell us what you know, what is truly happening here. It is obvious you are more than you claim to be, let us help you. Let me help you. No one can stand alone, in the dark, none of us are a microcosm. Allow me to float on the same waves as you, so that we both might better understand the tides that pull us." With that, Leviathan lowered his head as he slow stood on shaky legs, feeling almost as drained from the words he spoke as the spells he wrought.
  9. Spitfire "I seem to recall that this here bank was built on the site where a super baddie lived. Now which one I can't say, but it might have ta do with why these peeps could just hop on into the vault. Perhaps that old supervillain was into secret passages and what not? Or maybe there's somethin' left over underground that these ninja boys were after. I bet if we get ahold of both the blueprints for this gig and the one that used ta be on this site we might find something. Or mayhaps you can tell us which villain, if any lived on this spot miss?" With the last question he faced the bank manager and raised his eyebrows, waiting for an answer.
  10. Perhaps Spitfire's knowledge of the low down on the streets might tell him why they Katanarchist's would be hitting this bank in particular? Or why at all, they planning something big? That kinda thing Seriously doubtful considering his poor skill level but let's give it a go anyways 23 good check considering only a +5 to the skill!
  11. Spitfire Spitfire nodded at each of the heroes in turn. "Nice ta meet ya Synth, King, Voltage, let's do as the nice lady asks and find out what's what so to speak." Spitfire followed the rest of the heroes, although he wasn't much of a brain himself, perhaps his time spent at a circus might offer a unique perspective into motives or plan of attack for this little botched robbery.
  12. Spitfire In the space of a few seconds, the rest of the wannabe ninjas were down and Spitfire used the opportunity to survey the room. "Aw, come on pardner! You didn't haveta go and ruin all mah fun didya? I only got to charbroil one o' these here losers!" Despite his protests Spitfire had a wide smile on his face and in his crimson eyes. "Sure are a lotta us in this here bank, I don't suppose y'all are sharin' a 401k or somethin'?" Spitfire took the time between good natured jibes and trash talk to help the different bank patrons to their feet and offer quiet words of reassurance as he moved around the room, binding the unconscious villains before returning to the center of the bank. "I suppose we gotta wait to give a statement to the fuzz? Always the worst part of heroing: the paper work that's the for sure. Name's Spitfire by the way, pleased to make all y'all's acquaintance."
  13. Spitfire As the steam dissipates, a man with red eyes rises from a kneeling position, sporting black and red leathers and tattoos. With a vicious smile, Spitfire points to one of the Katanarchist's carrying a hostage, "Hey red! Don't think yer leavin' this party so soon now!" Sucking in a breath, Spitfire aimed carefully at the bank robber whilst attempting to miss the hostage. Narrowing his eyes Spitfire let loose from his lips a near white-hot volley of fireballs into the would-be ninja's chest, scorching holes in his ridiculous armor before dropping him to the floor unconscious and burned. Spitfire looked around the room and screamed "Who's next?! Who's up for ninja-extra crispy?!"
  14. Going to blast with autofire one of the dudes tryin to carry off a hostage. 21 to hit So that's a DC 26 toughness save plus whatever autofire makes it by. Go down sucka!
  15. Leviathan As the spell completed Veijlial slumped to the floor, going to one knee, taking in deep breaths before looking up at the pathetic display the Atlantean was putting on. "What I attempted to do was to unravel the glamour that is hiding whoever this "Oma" truly is. She is no more your original assistant, ambassador, than I am. However, that suspicion remains unproven, as my power has been weakened by the melee with Brutus. As for you, Atlantean, as you can see in my current condition I am little threat to you and the pretend woman so there is no need for such posturing." Turning to his compatriots, Leviathan gave them a pleading look. "You saw the effort she used to resist my spell, if this is indeed her original form why should she look to be in pain? I tell you she is not who she says she is, I implore you to take her into custody."
  16. well I'll be using that HP to shake off exhaustion! Yay! :D
  17. alright, let's do the target area burst then, with power attack Attack roll: 17 Power check 15 Complete suckage (sigh)
  18. the delaying of actions has me all turned around, is it Synth's turn again (since she delayed till last in initative, but also rolled first) Or is it Spitfire's go?
  19. Leviathan Veijlial had had enough. All this back and forth was getting nowhere, chipping away at the problem took time they possibly didn't have. What if the "assistant" didn't call who she said she'd called? Time could be running short before some nefarious back-up arrived, so Veijlial decided to take a gamble. Digging deep down into both his willpower, and his knowledge of glamour and shapeshifting, Leviathan formed the spell he used everyday within his mind. The facade spell he used to avoid fear, hatred, and persecution, and then he simply reversed it, doing and saying everything backwards, unraveling the threads of magic that alter one's form into something it's not, and rained down the spell over the room. If the spell worked, whatever the assistant was hiding would be revealed, if not, the only harm would be Leviathan looking silly, paranoid, and of course, being extremely drained of energy.
  20. Actually, that's not a bad point, it was so that they couldn't just automatically revert back, but once outed, I don't see why it would matter what it morphed itself into. So I think I'll use an Area Burst Nullify instead, so as to avoid the hassle of an attack roll, it would look rather silly if I missed!
  21. Spitfire will be spending his action changing into his costume
  22. I was wondering if it would be possible to perform a power stunt on my magic array, to determine if the assistant is really who we think she is. Given my character's ability to morph into other humanoids, I want to basically, unmake the glamour he believes is on the "assistant." So basically the power stunt would be: Nullify 9 (Morph effects) [Duration] Whatcha think?
  23. Leviathan Leviathan cleared his throat to draw the attention to him and looked the ambassador in the eye. "I performed a ritual of sorts, that let us see into the moment of the murder. It plainly showed you, or someone who was wearing your countenance, murder the Atlantean with the knife in question. So as you see, getting information out of a would be conspirator is, of course, out of the question. I do find it odd, however, that an assistant to an ambassador would so casually denounce an ambassador's input into a situation. Given your station should it not be apparent that you believe the ambassador wise, and deserving of the respect of her office? Tell me something ambassador, has your assistance regularly been this flagrant in the disregard of your council?" A naturally paranoid creature by the nature of his past, Leviathan's gaze narrowed considerably on the assistant. Ever since the assistant conveniently arrived on the scene, it had seemed to Veijlial that she was attempting to manipulate the situation. Taking charge of things was not usually the purview of an assistant, and her manner did not belie anything so much as even conciliatory towards the ambassador. Gears started to turn faster in Veijlial's fatigued mind as implications started leading to connecting evidence and hypothesis. "I suggest that you step away from the phone, and the ambassador while we figure the situation out entirely.
  24. Spitfire Maxie, surprised by Marceau's brashness let a large smile form on his face, long enough only for Marceau to see it. "You just follow my lead friend. Ole Max knows a thing or two about a thing or two. Watch my back for a second will ya?" With that Max slowly bent to the ground, gathering fire in his lungs, stoking it till he was sure it was hot enough to melt metal at least, then slowly, Max breathed through his nose, the heat of the fire, hidden beneath his hand, burst the water molecules in the air, causing a blanket of steam to fill the room almost instantaneously. When the steam had nigh well made seeing anything distinct from within a few feet impossible, Max started donning his leathers. "Maxie, ole boy," he said to himself "it's times like this, you can really cook!"
  25. Alright, Initiative for Spitfire is 18 Not bad. Will be using an HP to shake off fatigue from the power stunt.
