  1. While Faye is sipping her drink, her eyes fall upon a nearby table, where several odd-looking individuals are engaged in a spirited discussion; a few of them in turn take notice of her, and one of them, a rather frightening-looking plant woman of some kind, motions for her to join them. Faye pursues her lips as she considers the offered chair. That lot is up to something, maybe a job? It's always nice to meet new people. At last she shrugs and strides on over, raising her glass in greeting. "Evening, gentlemen and lady; mind if I have a sit down? Me name's Red Queen, I'm bored and I'm available."

  3. I've been looking through the Freedom City book, and pretty much all the baddies are PL10, if not higher, which poses a bit of a challenge;no only are Grim and Nano from opposite sides of the law, they come from different Power Levels as well The basic idea I have is some sort of hostage situation; a small group of baddies are committing a robbery of some kind in the Riverside area, they run afoul of a super or supers, and they decide to take the patrons of the nearest restaurant hostage, which just happens to be the Monorail Cafe. My first thought was two or three members of the Power Corps, but someone else could just as easily do it. This would be a potential situation where both Nano and Grim's powers would be of use; the only thing I'm not sure of is whether or not to try and balance the encounter by using a a mixture of lower and higher PL baddies, or just trust to the fates and stick with PL10s. Any suggestions?

  7. A ring of red light appears in the air, just above the old helipad; as it spins and twists, an arm and soon a head poke through, followed by the rest of a young woman in her mid-twenties. She is perhaps a trifle too thin for some tastes, but there are wiry muscles beneath her thin leather jacket and designer slacks, and her black eyes scan the world with no pity. Her reddish-brown hair is cut short in the front but a slender ponytail hangs down between her shoulders and down to her waits. She wears low-heeled ankle boots and driving gloves, and all of her fashions have a sharp yet simple European cut. The young woman takes a moment to get her bearings, then steps to the edge of the helipad and drops down to the deck of the rig; she dusts herself off and heads to the entrance, but is intercepted by Legend, who scrutinizes her sidelong. "Red Queen, born one Faye Spenser not so many years ago; so nice of you to 'pop in.'" The woman frowns, but does not seem overly hostile. "You would the Legend I've heard so much about." Her accent identifies her as Irish, educated and from the east coast of the Isle. The older man smiles and does a sort of bow. "It's just 'Legend', Miss Spenser, but have no fear; there are many more secrets in my head, and all of them are safe." Faye smiles politely but with little warmth. "Of course. By all means, lead the way." She follows close behind as he guides her into the 'bar', where several unsavory types are currently enjoying on kind of poison of the other. She signals the barkeep with a nod. "Bushmills, single malt, neat." She turns, rests her elbows on the bar and crosses her long legs as she surveys the room with equal parts professional scrutiny, amusement and disdain.

  13. I think the restaurant needs to be attacked right now; something needs to leap or be thrown through the windows and start a mad panic, so we can see Grim and Nano's heads turn to the door at the same time, and then they rush into action out of the men's room. Who's with me on this? :D

  15. I guess this is where I'd put this request, don't think it falls under Character Building, but whatever. Can I have these headshots of Grim and Red Queen put into their individual character sheets, somewhere near the top? I'm starting to get distracted by both of them staring at me at the bottom of my posts, and would like to remove them  Here's the link for the mini RQ, if Barnum or anyone else wants to use it as a mini token.

  19. Lynn looks up at Ren; his sad, pathetic and goofy face is upside down to her, like everything else in her life, and she knows what she wants to do, what she has to do. She turns and stands, growing slightly taller as she does to bring her eyes even with his, and gives him a warm and wicked grin. "No, this is topping off the perfect evening." She wraps her arms around his neck, pulls him in close, and gives him a warm, lingering kiss right on the lips

  21. Lynn sighs and shakes her head. There's just not going to be any easy way to do this. She holds up a finger as she bows her head in deep thought; finally, she nods to herself and looks deeply into her disbelieving grandfather's eyes. "At the battle of Monte Cassino, there was a Polish unit fighting with the British; they had a pet bear who carried ammunition and ate cigarettes, and after the last of the four battles was over, you met him and fed him the last of your Lucky Strikes." She smiles and looks at him with a mixture of bemusement and unconditional love. "Louis Silberman, I am your shapeshifting grand-daughter from the future, and I think we need your help."

  23. "I will," she murmurs. As is her wont while patrolling with Nightrival, Grim wraps the night around her as she blends into the urban jungle, brickwork and graffiti scrolling across her athletic body as she moves like a whisper behind him.
