  1. Predator

    “Of course.”

    She said reassuringly.

    “Take a moment.”

Jean regarded the screen from over Loyng’s shoulder. She watched the slightly grainy image of ‘Dr North’ as the person(?)… the entity(?)… the thing passed through the airport.

She made a ‘hmm’ noise then stood up.

“I suppose I should go to Alaska and investigate this myself.”

She patted Loyng on the shoulder.

“Can I ask you to keep an eye out for anything unusual?”

    She asked.

“I can give you a secure contact line to reach me.”

    Jean rubs her chin.

“Now, I just have to secure travel there.”

She remarked and pulled out her phone and began scrolling through her contacts.

  2. Paper

Paper smirked as the ninjas he could see in the crowd dropped like flies.

“Can you believe it? You guys will never graduate to be real ninjas.”

He looked up just in time to see four more drop from the rafters, fleeing from Neko’s illusions. He grinned as they landed. Two took off running again, but the other two attacked. One’s weapon went wide, missing him, and part of him hoped it hadn’t hit a bystander. The second one was dead on though.

Leon raised his left arm to block it and the little throwing star embedded itself into his forearm. Paper didn’t even seem to acknowledge it as his right hand reached out and raked his fingers though one of the other ghostly lanterns hanging in the air around him.

“Too slow! You guys would lose to turtles.”

The lantern fell apart, but in his hand he held several playing card sized pieces of paper. With a flick of his wrist the paper stiffened as he hurled them at one of the two. The paper slam into the first ninja like a series of blows from a heavy-weight boxer.

The blank white mask focuses on the last one standing before him as paper slithers around him like a living thing. It collects and grows up into his waiting hand, a staff forming. He twirls it easily without looking away from the last ninja on the stage with him.

The shuriken still planted deeply in his left arm seemingly unnoticed. No blood seeping from the wound as he spins the staff. With his right hand he makes a beckoning motion at the second attacker.

    “Yūkigāreba.” (“If you dare.”)

  3. Ranged attack: 29

That's a crit for all the good it does. 😛

Edit: Can I try to intimidate the second one?

Leon did just take out like 5 of his co-workers with 2 attacks. 😛

Edit2: Those two are minions right?

    I didn't think to ask.

    Edit3: Intimidation check: 7

What the heck, try a reroll: 22

    Much better.

    Residence: Freedom Hall

    Base of Operations: Freedom Hall

    Occupation: Scientist

    Description:

    Age: 30 (DoB: 13/08/1993)

    Apparent Age: early-mid 20’s

    Description:

Jean is a humanoid fox girl. Dirty blonde hair reaches her shoulders and her eyes are a deep rich blue. Her features are fox like and a pair of red and black furred fox ears poke up through her hair. Short fur covers her body and her legs are slightly digitigrade. A fox tail protrudes from the base of her spine.

The Predator armor is an advanced battlesuit Jean designed and built. She has redesigned and upgraded it numerous times since its conception. Its current design has a feline/canine inspired hints in its minimalist simplicity. It has a sleek, polished gun metal appearance with no added coloring except the yellow glow from the helmet’s ‘eyes’.

    History:

Jean was born on a parallel Earth, similar to Freedom’s but with several major differences. Nearly identical to Earth Prime in every way, Anthro-Earth has comparable technology, history, and culture. The world has its own variety of heroes and villains that clash regularly, as well as numerous visitors from worlds beyond. The primary difference is the dominant species is anthropomorphic animals. There are also a sprinkling of humans and aliens from other worlds (and a few other anthropomorphic creatures not native to Anthro-Earth) that are referred to as  'outsiders'.

It was during a clash between two of the many super-powered individuals in her world that Jean lost both her parents at a young age.

Jean was recognized as a prodigy at an early age and graduated from high school years ahead of her peers. She attended college, receiving multiple degrees before moving to the private sector. Under the employment of a patron with known questionable connections, Jean secretly designed and built the Predator armor to combat the destructive forces that she felt plagued the city.

For several years she fought to protect her city until one day a crazy scientist constructed a portal that threatened to run out of control and could threaten her entire universe. Alongside several other heroes she tried to stop it, only to find herself dragged in to the portal along with its creator.

Jean found herself adrift in the multiverse, the residual energy from the portal causing her to shift through wolds at random. Wherever she appeared she would help to protect the innocent as she attempted to find a way back to her own world. Sometimes it would be days, sometimes weeks between shifts. This made it difficult to devise a way home.

Eventually, her dimensional shifting landed her in Freedom City, but the residual energy seems to be nearly gone, leaving her apparently stranded there for the time being.

She has since accepted residence and the use of a lab at Freedom Hall. In exchange she offers her assistance as a hero, while attempting to both find a way home and create a sustainable base to operate in this world.

    Personality & Motivation:

Jean is intelligent and stubborn, but will listen to counter arguments and give them proper consideration if they deserve it. She has a strong desire to protect since losing her parents to ‘super powered’ violence.

She is quick to act, but does so in an intelligent way. Always analyzing the situation and thinking ahead. Her mind is her most useful tool and she utilizes it. Though, in her travels, she has been forced to more drastic measures and sometimes goes further than she would normally feel comfortable acting in order to protect others.

She is slow to trust others, but once she considers someone a friend she is fiercely loyal. She has been known to place others before herself to what some may consider dangerous degrees.
Jean had no immediate family, but left behind many friends and allies she misses.

Jean has no hang ups on her inhuman appearance since the world she was born into had a high population of humanoid animals. She does though have some body issues give her small stature and build, feeling she can’t measure up to ‘normal’ beauty standards. But this doesn’t normally hinder her since she tends to be more analytical by nature. It usually only came up on the rare occasion she began to feel attracted to another and thought they wouldn’t see her the same way. This would sometimes lead to her shift to an even more analytical attitude that could possibly push others away, but a numerous times she has allowed others to get close to her.

    Power Descriptions:

Jean herself is an intellectual prodigy, but has no powers herself, relying on the suit for any combat needs. The suit was built using a mix of advanced Terran and alien technologies.

    Complications:

    Inhuman appearance:

Jean is not human and makes no effort to conceal the fact. This may make people uncomfortable or possibly hostile towards her, causing problems with many people not used to dealing with nonhumans.

A hero point could be awarded if this would cause a problem either socially or investigatively.

  5. Blackstaff

Blackstaff wasn’t sure what exactly to make of the snippet of argument he heard. But he did hesitate a moment at the door as the Cat spoke.

“If it's all the same to you, I think we’ll pass on the tea.”

He replied and glanced back to see Dreamer beside him. Then, readying his magic just in case he needed it, he tried to open the large door.

  6. Paper

Leon nodded in agreement with Luke.

“If this was anymore of a set-up, there’d be a neon sign with a comical oversized arrow.”

He chuckled. He trusted his best friend's nose. If he said it smelt ‘techie’ he believed him.

    “Might be another entrance.”

    He nodded.

“I can watch here if you wanna circle around and check.”

He reached out with his sense, searching for paper. If anyone was inside he might be able to sense it. Cash (when people still carried it) and collected membership cards, receipts, and BOGO cards. The paper detritus that sometimes finds its way into people’s pockets.

Sometimes he could recognize the way it was gathered and moved around. It wasn’t perfect, but he still tried.

  7. Predator

One of the alien soldiers attacked Predator, but she avoided it. Even as she reached  out, the blades slid back into the gauntlets and she grabbed the attacker. She attempted to spin him around and grapple him, but the alien managed to twist himself and her grip failed to secure a grip. Her mechanical fingers unable to find purchase where they slipped from its armor.

Predator gave the Boran a nod and assumed a defensive posture as she noticed the larger one she’d knocked down getting back up.

  8. Predator

    “Calm down.”

    Jean said slowly.

“I don’t believe you have a reason to panic.”

Lifting the scanner she had built, she used it to scan Lyong. Her face, a mask of calm.

The process was quick and Jean was confident in the results.

“The scan says you’re fine. But if it would make you feel better. We can run a test.”

She placed a hand on Lyong’s shoulder, attempting to reassure her.

“If you have security concerns though. Arranging tests on all staff, in all branches may help.”

    Jean tapped her chin.

“Don’t mention the possibility of exploding though. It can cause a panic. Perhaps something more benign, some new flu or virus.”

The vixen gave a thoughtful look.

“Also, if possible, check if Dr North’s ID has been used to access anything ‘important’ or ‘restricted’ recently.”

  9. Blackstaff

Blackstaff blew out a breath and nodded at Dreamer’s assessment.

    “An excellent idea.”

    He looked down at her.

“Is is okay if I put you down?”

He asked, giving her time to conjure one of her constructs before turning his attention to the rest of the room.

He glanced at the door the rabbit exited out of, then at the larger one.approaching the larger door his eyes flickered to the table as he passed it. He made no move to pick up any of its contents yet.

He looked up at the cat before cautiously reaching out to rest the handle.

  10. Predator

Predator followed Agent Shine’s lead to a computer she could use. She easily slid into place to work, connecting to it only enough to send her findings to the screen for the others to see.

On the screen, several widows appear. Some contain graphs, others, shifting numbers and text. She points to one set of widows in particular, the signal’s signature.

    “Here.”

“With no identifiable electronics, one can only assume this is some form of electromagnetic signature.”

A second, identical set of windows open.

“Both bodies are emitting identical signatures. But no normal person should be registering a signal like this.”

Predator sat back to allow the others to examine the data as she spoke.

“While it’s too early to assume its purpose, I think we can assume its source is the cause of this epidemic. Perhaps the original Mr. Deacon, or perhaps more likely, whatever happened to him.”

A single articulated finger on her gauntlet tapped the chin of the helmet.

“But perhaps with some work, we could modify trackers to pick up on the signal. With a strong enough signal we could possibly find our patient zero, or possibly even the source.”

    She offered.

  11. Predator

Jean gave the woman a long look before nodding.

    “Very well.”

“To put it short and to the point.”

Jean motioned to the small case of samples she had brought.

“When you have a chance to examine the samples yourself. You will find samples of flesh and a chemical substance that seemed to induce effects not unlike the ‘Synthetic’ you described.”

As she spoke Jean produced a flash drive.

“This is a recording of events earlier this morning which prompted my initial inquiries.”

She held it out to Lyong.

“On it, you will see a Dr North arrive at the door to my laboratory this morning and my welcoming him in.”

She emphasized the ‘a’ before Dr North.

“He begins acting strangely and I attempt to subdue him before he begins growing hot to the touch. I attempt to stabilize the man, but ultimately failed to.”

Jean motioned to the case of samples.

“As near as I could determine the flesh is not actually human. So I have no reason to think the real Dr North is not still alive.”

“I also manage to cobble together this.”

    Jean produced the ‘Fleshometer’.

  12. Chimera

Under her, the possessed man struggled but she was overwhelming him. The sound of coins bouncing across the pavement was a faint background noise as Chimera pulled back to smash the man again.

Gods, was she actually going to kill this poor man out of blind rage?!

    What had she become?

Suddenly, Chimera froze mid strike… she heard it… she heard them.

They were calling to her as the clinked and fell to the ground. Calling to the gold still lacing through the symbiote. The coins. She had to grab them. Get them before someone else did.

Someone called out to her, but it didn’t matter.

Chimera abandoned the possessed man in  broken armor to quickly begin gathering up the fallen coins. Gathering up her precious gold to reclaim it.

  13. Paper

Paper felt his hammer connect solidly, but the big man shrugged off the attack. The young hero grit his teeth and cursed as the villain continued to dismiss him.

Multi-Girl managed to get in a sucker punch before Shift recovered from the blow she took and wrapped her arms around Big Horn, literally.

He growled under his breath and tightened his grip on the paper mallet.

“I told you not to ignore me!”

    He yelled.

Paper charged the bound hulk, paper snapping into place under his feet and he stepped up off the ground to get a flying swing at the villain.

Paper grunted with effort as he swung, not with his muscles so much, but his force of will. He imagined the paper hitting just as easily as he had envisioned the paper forming the hammer, and that was all it needed.

The paper responded. Swinging in an arch the mallet connected with Big Horn.. right upside the head. With more force than Paper could have managed on his own.
