  1. . . . Herp. Warp is going to using the gargoyle shooting gallery again. 21
  2. Do we know who we want to pull into this thread yet?
  3. The egghead was clearly agitated, but it seemed to be legitimate to her. If there was a lie lurking behind it all, he hid it well. Warp bit her lip and peered at the other hero . . . caught a pause in his words and a shifting of his eyes . . . the instant he said his own name. It took a lot of practice to lie convincingly about who you really were. It was an art that required careful practice and perseverance. Practice, it seemed, that this 'Golden Glove' did not have. She dissolved and reappeared between the fake and his undead punching bag. "I dunno," Warp said, crossing her arms, narrowing her eyes. "Why don't we find the real Golden Glove and ask him what he thinks?"
  4. Beat. She waited a while longer, till the water started slipped into her boots. Natas didn't bite, If he was even around to bite anymore. She clenched her teeth and crossed her arms a moment. "Gotcha," Warp breathed at last, trudging through the water and laying a hand on the sleepers for just long enough to pull them into her dimensional pocket. Warp turned down the walkway, lost in the dark water except for the weight beneath her feet and the guardrails extending up on either side. She made a cutting motion and the world ripped open, leaving a long dark vertical fissure with redness at its edges. "I could just keep this open for you if you'd like," Warp offered more subdued already, reaching over the side and grabbing hold of the mesh. It seemed a terrible way to hold these kids but . . . she didn't want want to risk their teeth. "It wouldn't be trouble."
  5. Warp is going to use some sense motive to figure out who is telling the truth. She has skill mastery there too, for 20.
  6. Warp laughed as pipes choked on themselves. "Nice one." They had Nemo here on the ropes. A little more and they'd have him at their mercy. And then he pulled out the detonator chord, and Warp's expression tightened, confused. He's not that dumb, she thought. Is he? An explosion rocked her feet in answer, and everything went dead dark. For a long, tense moment Warp waited for the rest of the ship to follow, ready to grab Tsunami and make like the better part of valor. She waited for a tense moment, but did not see any cascading walls of fire no matter where she looked. "I know it's supposed to be tradition to go down with the ship," Warp said into the darkness. "But I didn't think you were stupid enough to pull a lassy and take it out behind the shed to shoot it. As far as last gambits go, I give it a three out of ten, right next to the castle with the big red self-destruct button."
  7. Warp is going to content herself with a bluff check to try to make Natas monologue and stop whatever new plan he's set to motion for a little while to tell them what he's up too, if that's okay. If not, just assume it's a full-round taunt to bring his attack down. Skill mastery makes her bluff 26 automatically.
  8. Warp tried to draw from the same wellspring that had given her shot such punch, but she couldn't find it again; the only thing she found was writhing darkness. "Fine. If it isn't gonna stop . . ." She pointed her hand toward the other side of the sub. "We just gotta make it not matter." She let loose a tangle of howling entropy against the other side of the sub where it writhed and devoured the steel until water tore through the side, pouring into the main submarine. Warp turned toward Tsunami. "Can you screw up those pumps somehow? Keep the water from draining maybe?"
  9. Now Warp is going to try to make more holes in the sub. +5/-5 power attack again.
  10. Warp aimed her hand toward the pumping console, her eyes shining a brighter red. In her limited experience, when part of something broke, the rest followed along with it. Entropy coiled up her arm and flickered, dark at first, then flaring red as she stumbled across something in the dark part of her entropy had holed inside; not creeping and caustic, but bright and wild and violent. She let it loose before it could turn on her body and halfway dissolved the console in a flash. When she could see it again, Warp saw a halfway destroyed machine. It was like a huge chunk of the thing, including the moniter and controls, had gone missing. She listened for a moment for the pipes to slow, stutter, fail. They did none of those things. "Oh come on," Warp said, "That ain't fair."
  11. Warp will take her full round action to do what she thinks ought to be done with technology doing things she doesn't like and shoot an entropic bolt at the control panel. 33. Well, that's a critical as well. So it's an even nastier hit. 27DC toughness, 22 DC drain.
  12. In Warp's approximation, the danger of the mummy had passed. Whatever it was that had possessed the thing to start stomping through walls and throw itself onto Goldilocks, he wasn't gonna try it again for a while. Long enough to put whatever'd gone wrong with him right, maybe. Either way, there was nothing to be gained by letting the letcher beat on a corpse. "Careful golden boy," she called over her shoulder. "I'm pretty sure that whenever someone dusts one of those things in the wrong way, they get cursed. I saw it happen once," she lied. "Guy went chicken-leg thin, and withered like a dead man. You know . . ." she confided, a conspiratorial tone in her voice. "All his boneless bits fell off. Ears and nose and . . ." She smirked. ". . . Other things." She turned back to the museum staffer and shrugged. "I dunno what to say, sir. He's caused a lot of trouble, and it's not like he won't just get up again now that he's down. How'd you keep him from getting up and breaking down walls before?"
  13. Now she's going to take a full round action to get our friend to back off the mummy corpse for a little bit with a bluff check. Gonna take ten with the help of skill mastery for an automatic 26.
  14. Kat's best guess told her the girl who ran off, only for another to appear down the same hall in the same direction, didn't really have a good case so far as keeping secret identities secret went. Not when there was another option, anyway. Warp ran back down the hall and peeked over corner; she picked a spot she could see above the fight and ripped through to there with a thought. Darkness coalesced in the air into a girl-shape that landed with a lithe grace. The entropy blackness dissipated to reveal Warp, looking down on the mummy with one eyebrow raised. She kept the entropy under her skin running deliberately hot, letting her eyes glow red. "I thought you might need some help with King Tut here." Kat put a hand on her waist an raised an eyebrow at him. "Guess I was wrong?"
  15. Warp scurries over to where she can peek over and see the fight and teleports in. Considering how nicely things are going for GG, she's going to abstain from doing more than that.
  16. Warp dove expertly under the gunman's arm as he swung, her grin slanted to the side as she stepped forward and caught him in the side with an open palm, sent him staggering backward, over the railing, into the drink with a splash. "You know," Warp said. "They might lighten your sentence if you decide to cooperate before we drag your bodies to police. I think the penalty for child abduction is supposed to be pretty bad." She spun where she stood using the momentum from the turn to drove her foot hard into Natas' guard . . . but it held up bravely.
  17. Kat rolled her eyes. "Dangerous." She put a hand on Tona's shoulder and made her voice low. "I'll be right back." She turned away and dove into the crowd, but people were all just gawking at the mummy, getting in her way as she ducked and dived through them like a obstacle course. Kat ducked under an arm and escaped into the open hall, veering down a hall at a wide angle and dove behind a thick pillar. She closed her hand into a fist and a crawling darkness spilled out between her fingers, crawled over her skin and ate her civvies, leaving her attire as Warp in its place. She grinned, flexed her fingers inside their glove and turned her head back toward the mummy.
  18. Warp's gonna take ten with a +/-3 power attack for a 20 attack and a 25DC save on the minion, and if it takes him out she'll go after Natas because of takedown attack.
  19. "They might notice," Kat said, tilting her head to the side and grinning a wicked grin. "We just gotta make sure it's different in enough ways to keep them off the trail." Kat's eyes followed Tona's example and found the security guards; they were trying to hide it well enough, but she could tell from the way their eyes darted, from the shape of their mouths as they talked and the way they walked on the balls of their feet; they were afraid of something. She turned and raised an eyebrow at Tona. "You think we'll get extra credit for this?" She asked, not expecting an answer. She followed right behind Tona, pretending interest in the artwork while keeping an eye toward the front.
  20. Warp's eyes went big as she watched Natas close in fast, too fast for her to dodge . . . When Tsunami slipped in front of her, taking the brunt of the hit and absorbing it into her water shield. Warp breathed, holding the spearman's gun and concentrating. Darkenss spread across her fingers until it consumed the weapon before it lost its solidity altogether and flowed into her hand. Kat put a hand on Tsunami's shoulder. "Thanks for that," she smiled, sliding close alongside Tsunami and whipping out her foot, digging her boot's heels into Natas' chest with enough force to send him rocking.
  21. Kat cringed a little at the comparison to Darren. But still . . . "He'd say that; probably has a small fleet of private cars in a garage somewhere. No one takes a bus cause they enjoy it," she said, tucking her arms behind her head. "It's just a cheap way to get from place to place without worrying about driving." Which was never a problem for Kat. "Um . . . No. I haven't asked anyone." God, Subito's skull was so thick. Kat was smiling a little at him. She felt like she was full of water, head to toe, and little ripples were running through her body, like a still pond in rainfall. Kat took a breathed in once, twice. She put her hands on her hips and raised an eyebrow. "I like you, you numbskull. Really like you."
  22. Excellent! Warp will use her move action to dump Natas' speargun in her pocket dimension, and attack as a standard. 33 Hehe. That's a natural crit, so he needs to deal with a 27DC toughness save.
