  1. "A private interview sounds delightful!" smiled Natalie. She stopped dancing for a moment, and brought out her card, popping it into a suitable piece of metal on Victory. "You know, you really are a very interesting man, Mr. Victory. I find you... well. I find you very...." She turned away. "Special".
  2. The fumes and chemicals here are going to have a minor effect on Jube, every minute a DC 14 Fort check. Failure here is a limited visual dazzle and nausea effect (limited to watering eyes, -10 on all perception/notice rolls, and double all range penalties and limited to sickened). As you took all your cunning precautions, +2 circumstance bonus to the rolls! Really extended exposure would eventually cause suffocation but that wont be a problem with your rebreather and general health.
  3. The manager of the plant had seen stranger looking heroes in his time, but not many. And it was not his day to be picky. He was glad of any help, and glad that it was a hero rather than an equally esoteric and strange looking villain that had stopped to save the day. The building was now full of smoke which was acrid and choking. Even with his rebreather, Jube felt the air (or rather, lack of it). It was fortunate that the industrial building had been built well, with good ventilation and large rooms. With his uncanny speed, it was only a matter of moments before the three men, all barely conscious, were found, next to the burning equipment. A ring of fire encircled them all. "H...help..." croaked one of the men, before passing out.
  4. "Get out?" replied the Boogeyman "but you are the pests here, not me. And as for getting out, I intend to. And I will! and the child is the door, aren't you, my precious!" The black, intangible ink started to swirl around the young girl. "Away! Away! The child is not for you!" shouted Rene at the mist. He was still not clear about what was happening here, but he was beginning to form an idea. The Boogeyman was what it was - one would struggle to call it evil, although malign would cover it. "Are you saying you wish to enter the world of the waking?" The jagged red grin broadened "yes... yes... so much more real. The child is a dreamwalker, and can enter this world. And we can exchange places!" Rene's brow furrowed. Things were perhaps more complex now. And he wasn't entirely sure that it could be solved with fists or bolts of lightning. A battle would be fought, but it seemed for the young girl's soul.
  5. Feel free to roll for intimidate if you wish to expand on your last "pest control" comment - or leave it as story.
  6. Slick is bluffed! 1d20+5=9 I dont know what Silver Scream's Concealment is, but Slick has accurate acute olfactory sense. It seems to be a bit odd to "smell" a ghost, but it seems from above its visual concealment only. I leave that to your judgement and if req'd GM fiat. Perhaps she is wearing ghostly perfume?
  7. Supercape swooped down to the action, and puffed up his chest. His cloak expanded to ridiculously large proportions, and he theatrically drew up a finger which circled slowly. "Desist your thuggery, ruffians! there are people here who still respect peace, quiet and security. Whilst I can only admire your youthful swagger, I must ask you to consider the culture and feelings of the good residents of the city. From this understanding, I am sure we can build a firmer bridge of co-operation and communication between us. Please, consider the foolhardiness and recklessness of your actions! I am sure you can see reason!"
  8. Supercape going to give some totally ineffectual speech. Complication of Monologue! HP if you feel it warrants it.
  9. How anything worked in the dream dimension was anybodies guess. If it "worked" at all. But in a dream, a giant bear can throw a giant spider right out of the picture. It would be hard to describe how far it flew, or where it landed. The essence was, he threw it far, and it was gone. Rene noted the hurl with satisfaction. The Boogieman was loosing his grip. "Welcome, Monsieur Boogieman" he said, with a very slight bow, as the black, inky, and formless thing oozed from the ground to the air. Only a jagged red smile, implying many horrible black teeth, was visible. As he arrived, the whole environment appeared to grow palid, grey, and lifeless. Mists formed around them, and colour even washed away from the ground. It reminded Rene of the trenches of world war I - and yes, the ground had that muddy, horrible feel to it. "And who might you be?" the jagged red grin asked the two heroes.
  10. Some handwavium here, but Given Nick's supersenses, he can detect over a hundred circling souls vyinng for the 20 bodies in the room! :!:
  11. Later... After the legalities had been processed, Jube continued on his patrol through the streets of Freedom City. He soon past a convoy of screaming sirens. Police, fire, and ambulance. They had circled what looked like a metalwork plant, with smoke pouring out of several buildings. "Help! Help!" screamed the slightly rotund manager. "I have three men still in there! our new equipment is faulty, and we had an explosion - its chemical engineering works, and the fumes overpowered them! you have to help!"
  12. "Zut Alors!" exclaimed Rene. He was no expert, but it was pretty clear what had happened. Wrong bodies for wrong souls. The people where muttering, some confused, some note. One young man yelled, in Spanish "" before running at full speed out on to the street. Another middle aged man started throwing his fists at a young lady, muttering, in French "" And an elderly lady stared around, before pointing at Nick and screaming "Sorcerer! Kill him!" with a bony finger pointed at the hero. "More souls than bodies, I think..." said Rene, remarking on a middle aged lady who seemed to be fighting with herself, with two voices saying "Get out! I was here first" between punching and strangling herself.
  13. May as well make initiative rolls for that eventuality! 1d20+4=13 for Slick.
  14. Supercape started to take off, but only hovered a few feet off the ground. "Anyone need a lift?" he asked. He noticed the giant Doctor Titan. Heavy probably he noted but I should be able too... "Do you have means of locomotion, sir?" he asked politely. "If not, I can whisk us to the Lab in but a moment..." He had already started, barely consciously, working on a n-dimensional entanglement between here and there, in preparation for such rapid transport. Its getting easier, almost second nature now... he noted.
  15. Rene started opening the bigger boxes, but he was much slower than his cyborg partner, and his eyesight was poor even by normal standards. He soon realised in a room of this size he wasn't going to be much help. And of course, he knew next to nothing about all this modern newfangled technology. "Be careful" he called out. "You have no idea what could be in any of the presents!" As he spoke, Victory was hit in the face by a spring loaded foam boxing glove when he opened one of the larger presents. It could barely hurt a child, but left a large red blotch on his face, with the words "Kiss Me Kwik!" in dripping red paint.
  16. "What about you? You haven't told me anything about yourself. What do you do?"
  17. GM Broken, the young tsar collapsed to the ground. "Its all over. All...over. My father was dying anyway. He possessed the fortitude of fourty men, and lasted as long as he could. I... I used him. Only he could master the freezonium. " He let out a long sigh. "My country... it is bloody and harsh. And the old ways are under threat from the new communists. The traitor Stalin leads his peasants against our noble aristocracy. Anarchy shall reign!" He gazed around the remains of Kew Gardens. The cold air had warmed and, displaying remarkable resilience, some of the hardier plants had survived. Green was showing. "The British stand by and do nothing. They betrayed the Cossacks. Bah! Their empire will fall one day too! But now, I will return to Russia and try to maintain some order there." He stood up with slumped shoulders. "Allow me to go and fight for mother Russia. If you will not come to our aide, at least do not stand in my way..."
  18. Catching on, Supercape smiled even more wickedly. "What was that, Dragonfly? I didn't quite catch you first time. Did you say that Jessica Parker also known as Ironclad was Here to take all questions?" He gave Dragonfly a conspiratorial wink, and desperately tried, like Dragonfly, to maintain a semblance of a straight face. Without much success.
  19. "Well Mr. O'Hagan. Word on the street is you have some nice little drug hitting the town. More pop than the normal muck that floats around, if you catch my drift. And I have some very select clientele that might be interested, if you see what I mean. " "I do" muttered Knuckles, fingering his handgun "and its a good earner, for sure. But I don'd deal with peoples I don't know. Keeps my head down, small time stuff. Stick your head up to high, it only gets shot down. " He gave a toothy grin "not saying I don't to shooting good myself, to be sure!" "Of course" replied Slick holding up his hands. "Its just, well, we could perhaps come to some agreement, maybe buy some from your supplier instead?" Knuckles looked Slick straight in the eye and brought out his phone. He started making a call, and gave the two a beady look. "Maybe... although I doubt it..."
  20. "To the lab then! excellent idea!" remarked Supercape, wagging a circulating finger in excitement. Turning to his new large friend, Doctor Titan, he continued "have you visited? excellent place for fine minds, top rate medical and scientific laboratories and a wizard particle smasher in the basement!" Turning to the child-robot, he continued "how are you for, um, propulsion?"
  21. "I'm so sorry for putting you in this mess, Etain" mumbled Supercape, honestly and with guilt. "Normally science is safer. And less exciting... to be honest. " He reached up and an explosion of light hit the corner of the simulator suite where the maintenance bots had begun their patrolled. They swung around, uncertain which direction to attend to, effectively completely lost. "Not sure how much longer that will hold them. Hopefully long enough for our techno-wizard here to weave those wires into something resembling normal service!"
  22. "Not bad at all" said Slick, shifting around the contraption. He wasn't entirely sure not to name it. A mannequin? A container? "Bob"? "What do you call this contraption anyway? Sounds like it needs some grand name, using all sorts of technobabble" OK, so it wasn't perfect. But compared to half an hour ago it was a definite improvement. "Whatever you call it, it is certainly a step up from my previous position. I can actually slide around quite nicely in here. What's the next step? reverse the polarity of the neutron flow?"
  23. "But of course!" nodded Supercape with an affable smile "who could get offended at us? we are all such nice people!" He looked at the robot "such nice, robot-friendly people, who come in peace!" He held out his hand to Doctor Titan "Supercape, by the way, pleased to meet you. Named due to my particularly spiffy cape!" he leaned over to whisper in the Doctors ear, with a conspiratorial manner "looks harmless I think? lets keep it sweet!"
  24. Yeah, explosive is pretty illegal! Looks good to me, and nice use of superspeed! Want to carry on patrol, riff of the two goons, or stop thread? (all good to me, I was planning on throwing 2 or more 'mini-events' on patrol just for Jube to have a 'fun day out' but its all up to you!)
  25. "Ah yes" replied Supercape, trying very hard to look angry, but failing miserably. He couldn't wipe the smirk of his face. "You are clearly a very naughty and rebellious lady. Terrible. Terrible!" he continued, obviously not believing a word he said. He scanned the crowd, who had started to mill around, looking at the various displays, and inventions that had been put up for the opening. Several reporters, and a sprinkling of scientists, businessmen, and politics were amongst the crowd, and a goodly proportion had seethed forward, eager to personally speak to the heroes. "Of course, you didn't quite miss the meet and greet...clearly you mistimed your entrance..." he gave her wink "I mean your cleaning was fortunately swift enough not to evade...miss... this part!"
