  1. Right, onto your first fight! The youths are terrorists (anarchists). I may twist the skills slightly so they get streetwise skills rather than theology as besuits there anarchist rather than fundamentalist nature, but it probably wont be important. Equipment: Baseball bat (club), Leather Jacket, and Heavy Handguns. First up: Initiative 1d20+0=4 Beat that! ;)
  2. The building was secure, after a fashion. The main entrance had been ram-raided by a reinforced truck, and patched up - again, after a fashion. It was not difficult to slip into the building through the remains of the door. The building was a goodly size, and divided into several areas for transportation, construction, and storage. From what Jube could make out, it was the storage area that had been taken over. Almost straight away, he ran into three youths and a tied up security guard. The youths were spray painting the walls and smashing up the decor with baseball bats. Despite his uncanny speed and agility, the cat was not quite fast enough. Perhaps he had been running too fast today, with a spine still not sure if it was built for two or four limbs. But having sped through half the city in less than an hour, it decided, at this most unfortunate time, to give a small complaint, and even this temporary spasm was enough for one of the youths to turn around, raising his baseball bat. "Heads up, trouble!" he yelled.
  3. Rene no longer fully trusted his failing eyesight. And would have barely trusted the image of the short dark man who appeared before him, despite his long experience with the strange and wonderful. Of course, in his mind's eye, the man appeared crystal clear and hyper-real, all swirling razor sharp clouds of white and black, screaming of wisdom beyond the ken of mortal men. "That's new..." he remarked. From what he recalled, Papa Ghede was a benign spirit - although he was not so foolish as to be relaxed about this procedure. In his experience, few spirits or souls took particularly kindly to being summoned.
  4. THanks thats very helpful! I think I may be well out of my depth relative to your knowledge here, so I am going to step back from GM duties slightly and let you take narrative control for a little bit if thats ok. GM wise, the Stunt will allow a sort out of the souls, guiding those who have no legitimate bodies to the afterlife, and those who just got ripped from their bodies, back. IE it sorts out the mess. I'll let you handle the specifics as you clearly know a lot more about this than I!
  5. Yep! Nick is at full power. The Ghosts aren't able to physically interact with the real world of course, although Nick is aware of them. Feel free to use them for fluff or stunts, of course (or +2 situation modifiers!)
  6. Ah yes, good point, well made! *Ahem* Will get to posting!
  7. Rene shook his head and felt the cobwebs clear. Perhaps the gas had worn off, perhaps Victories burst of speed had shaken his brain into gear. "Thankyou, monsieur" he muttered, then had to fight down the wave of nausea that came from the blistering speed of the cyborg. "Although I am afraid my old body is not built for such furious bursts of speed!" he gave a grimace. He looked back at the Toy storage room. "There are not many places left our little enemy can be hiding... and I for one am keen to give him a smacked bottom!"
  8. Just a note, as Rene has mystic awareness, I presume this is not magical in origin?
  9. I'll go with that, but for future reference, paste the link to invisible castle in OOC! :D
  10. GM "Godammit, reception gone, so it has!" yelled Kunckles glaring at the phone, before throwing it away hard. He wasn't so angry he didn't make sure it hit something soft however. "Seems my supplier is incommunicado today, so he is!" he smirked at Slick and Dragonfly. "And i'm not so sure about you two's. And I'm not a man who likes taking risks..." He fingered his Glock and gave them a menacing look. "On the other hands, spilling blood is unwanted attention. The kindsa attention I donts need. Unless there's profits in it, of course. So I'm in a bits of a dilema, so I am..."
  11. "I...I think so...." stuttered Mary looking at Marcus with a curious eye. "Are you the bear man?" she asked politely. Rene caught Marcus' eye, and then Mary's. "Never mind that" he said, with a kind, but slightly gruff voice "just remember to be brave and never be scared of the monsters, eh?" he told her, with a gentle firmness. As he spoke he took from her compliant hands the ruby medallion she had been clutching. "And when you are asleep, always leave what was in the dreams behind, where they belong, even if they are pretty?" Mary nodded in agreement.
  12. "A psychopomp?" asked Rene "good Idea, although it is beyond my experience in dealing with such entities. To be honest, my dealing with the way of ze necromancer have been, 'ow shall we say... less than favourable." He looked around the room with more than eyes. The picture in his mind was of a storm of souls, a chaotic maelstrom. It didn't look pretty. It looked, quite frankly, insane, and he didn't want to look at it for long. "There is also ze matter of the escaped one. Italian maybe, or Roman. But first things first. Before a riot breaks out here..."
  13. The Boogieman have a howl and a fierce gnash of his maw, but said nothing. Rather, he seemed to just fade away. One moment he was there. The next, he was not. It was hard to say exactly how he had gone, other than to say it was like the way dreams evaporate when one awakes. Rene applauded aloud. "Well done, sir! Well done!". He turned to Mary and looked her in the eye. "See, madam? all monsters are cowards, and you only need to be brave, and they will go!" he gave her a big smile. As he did, the mists seemed to evaporate, and the central park of Freedom City slowly (or was it quickly?) came into view.
  14. That will do nicely sir!
  15. Earth saved, congratulations! To wrap this up, Brit Machine will be repaired for return flight. If people want, can do a few posts getting some gold medal from H'is most H'imperial Madjesty, and Cannonade getting mobbed by the Cannonites.
  16. Stealth is +9 - +2 from skill, +7 from DEX. You dont get the additional DEX bonus as you say. You could get +1-+3 from Masterplan, which requires a separate roll. Its probably best used before combat rather than as a one off like this however, so leave that off. I would allow the +2 for ceiling running, as it fits with the situation. So +11 overall.
  17. "Actually" said Ms. Wells "I was wondering if it would not simply be safer to return it to your dimension, where it will be inert. However, perhaps it is best used to try and revert the damage done to the climate here in the first instance. At a later date, I may post it to your home". As she spoke, several British soldiers, dressed in red coats and armed with steam powered rifles entered the greenhouse. Already, the temperature was becoming more bearable. The leader of the army spent a few moments conversing with Ms. Wells, before turning to the heroes and giving a crisp salute. "'Is Most Imperial Madgjesty, on be'half of the h'Empire does h'ereby salute you, and offer our thanks for the saving of the h'Empire!" he said, or rather, shouted, with a stiff gaze.
  18. Ms. Wells paused slightly, and frowned. "Why yes, it does rather. Unfortunately. I seem to be wrapped up in the whole mess somewhat. What a bother. That's n-dimensional theory for you. I can assure you, however, madam, that my intentions were to save, not to harm, the empire. Unlike that scallywag over there" she nodded at the departing tsar. Giving Carrie a wink. "And besides which, if those scientists at the Royal academy started to whisper about my involvement, then we wont see a woman in the academy for another century. It took them long enough to accept me, and I am hardly lacking in ability!"
  19. "Well, Sir Joseph, I shall see if there is anything left to refill. But if there is, it is in mother Russia..." He gazed at the ruins of the building, and the shell that was his father. With some care, he helped the dazed and confused cossacks, who were beginning to regain consciousness, back to their feet. "Come soldiers, the game is up. Let us take my father back to the homeland and bury him. And then let us try to find some solace and peace in the land." Ms. Wells came up to the heroes, holding the freezonium in an iron clasp. "Fascinating stuff. Should be all we need to reverse the cold snap!" she said excitedly. "As we came here, it must have fell backwards in time, and caused the whole crisis in the first place!" "The empire cannot thank you enough, gentlemen! and ladies! you have saved the day! I'm sure there will be medals all around, and of course, a trip back to your own dimension with all the ginger beer you can carry!"
  20. Ok lets throw in a stealth roll here. The thugs aren't paying a ton of attention, but on the other hand, there are a lot of 'em. Ill set DC according to how close you want to get. DC 10 for a straightforward rece, 15 for one which involves examining the hostage and thugs numbers, 20 for an in depth look at what they are doing.
  21. "Yes, yes" muttered Rene, fighting off the hysterics. How undignified! screamed the more lucid parts of his brain, as the primitive parts danced with manic elation. "Some kind of gas...pfft hahaha.... laughing gas... I guess... pffthahaha. Don't know what I'll do next... nexty wexty...HAHAHAHA!"
  22. 1d20=4 for confuse effect, so Rene acts "normally" Next round gets a save vs the gas, i'll take victory as aiding him for a +2 bonus 1d20+9=17... +1 for the next round of fighting effects off, still not making it.
  23. Rene was extremely pleased that the redneck lout infront of him had decided to stop his a-whoopin' and a-hollerin' in what, Rene decided, was one of the most uncouth displays he had seen in several decades. His pleasure soon turned to unease as he realised the man was doing absolutely nothing as indeed were his companions, and indeed the audience in general. As if they had been hypnotised by the words of the performance. Rene fingered his magic paintbrush and took a look around him. It might be more prudent to stay still himself... see what transpired. On the other hand, inaction was not necessarily the best course of action...
