  1. "Jack, we were just talking about you, man!" the younger man exclaimed as he hopped the kitchen bar to the living room in one fluid motion. Kris stopped short. He knew Jack had meant it as a joke, but he had no idea just how true his words were. He did die. He knew it, but never spoke a word to anyone except Lynn, and even then he didn't actually come out and say it. And he had reverted to his old ways after he left, a gun-for-hire selling his services to the highest bidder. He told himself it was for a good reason, but he knew he was lying to himself. "Well, what can I say? I needn't some 'me' time, you know?" he said sheepishly as he extended his hand.
  2. Hearing that, Kris shifted uncomfortably. He remembered the Invasion, remembered the carnage and casualties, remembered being torn apart by demonic teeth. He had problems dealing with what he knew was the memory of his own death, and he made a mental note to speak with Jack on the matter when he arrived. It was a shame that the Interceptors broke up, and he felt that he was partly to blame. Had he not set out on his own, maybe they'd all still be together. "You know... Marcus had x-ray vision and super-hearing. I'm just throwing that out there", he joked at the sight of the two lovers sharing a morning embrace.
  3. "Coffee sounds good, man," he said as he entered the brownstone. An instant later, Lynn showed up and wrapped her arms around the jet-lagged young hero. Dropping his worn olive drab duffel to the ground he returned the embrace, remembering why he always thought of her as the Interceptor's den mother. "I've been... places. Let's get some joe in us and I'll tell you all about it", he replied as he picked her up and gave her a squeeze. Setting the pixie-like figure back on her feet, he asked "Is the rest of the crew sleeping?"
  4. When the door opened to reveal a gun-toting, pajama-clad Colt, Kristian had thought he made a big mistake coming back until the pistol was lowered. "Uh, hey, Billy," the younger man said cautiously, "I didn't mean to wake you. You mind letting me in?" he asked as he peered past the cowboy into the house.
  5. Hmm, it would seem I missed all this. Anyway I could tie Razorwing into a Grue Invasion story, or did I miss the deadline? He shows back up in Freedom City on the 19th of April, if that's any sort of... anything.
  6. April 19, predawn The taxi pulled up to the brownstone on 83rd Avenue. In the predawn darkness, a young man exited the vehicle. He paid the driver, and slung his duffel bag over his shoulder as he approached the front door. He hadn't thought to bring his keys with him when he left all those months ago. Well, truth be told, he didn't think he'd be coming back, but that's part of the reason he was here now. To explain himself to his former teammates, not just for his sudden disappearance, but to come clean and give them the whole truth of who he is, not just the vague half-truths he had told the rest of the Interceptors. Ringing the doorbell, he waited silently for the door to open. C'mon, someone open up before I lose my nerve.
  7. A thread to get Razorwing back in the game, back on the team, and explain himself for the hasty departure. I don't have steady innerwebz access, so it might take awhile to finish the thread, but hopefully that won't be a biggy. Interceptors, Go!
  8. Razorwing Razorwing's New HellQ Razorwing's Wiki Welcome Back, Kris
  9. Ok, there was a slight fudge-up on Razorwing's character sheet. If you could please remove the Chokehold feat, he should be squared up. And since we're at it (muaahaahaa), could you please add Speed 1 to his Grapple Gun's AP? Super-Movement 2 (slow fall, swinging) AND Speed 1. And, in the first paragraph of his History, could you change "Based on a mythological bird from the fabled Utopia Island" to "Based on a mythological bird from the fabled lands of Shangri-La" (or however it's spelled). It will tie into his Ninja Skills Container side-story quite nicely =] Please, thank you, and have a nice day O_o DONE BY SHAENTHEBRAIN

His normal attire consists of BDU pants and combat boots accompanied by heavy metal t-shirts and a gray hoodie with a white skeletal stencil. As a note of interest, Kristian and the teen hero known as Elite share a strikingly similar appearance, so much so that a casual observer could mistake them for twin brothers. History: Some time during the 1970's , two extremely gifted teenagers thought to take up the war on crime. This dynamic duo, Cardinal (James Gerber) and Blackbird (Cynthia Schwartz) as they had named themselves, battled against the seedy underbelly of New York City for years at the side of the dark avenger Raven, eventually falling in love. When the Moore Act was passed in the 1980's, James chose to leave New York to help the few remaining heroes of Freedom City battle against the scum and villiany that plagued the once proud city while Cynthia stayed in New York to finish college. Dropping his happy-go-lucky demeanor and his flamboyant costume, he crafted a new identity for himself; one more suited to the social, economic, and anti-heroic theme of the day. Based on a mythological bird from the fabled Utopia Island that was said to be an ill omen, the vigilante known as Razorwing cut a swathe of justice through Freedom City. As an on-again, off-again member of the group ForceOps, James Gerber found himself falling deeply into the darkest places of his soul due to the terrible things he was doing in the name of peace and order. Unable to handle the pressure anymore, James hung up his costume and returned to New York City a broken man. If it weren't for the love and support of his former friend and confidant Cynthia, now a criminal psychologist, he would have remained a husk of the man he once was. After years of renewed friendship, the two became romantic once more, marrying, and moving out to Freedom City when Mayor Moore was exposed for the crook he really was. Soon Cynthia Schwartz-Gerber was with child, and she gave birth to a wonderful baby boy in the Spring of 1993. These were to be the happiest times of their lives, but Omega had other plans. When the city was attacked, James did not hesitate to don the guise of Razorwing one last time to aid his fellow heroes in pushing back the extra-dimensional legions at Omega's command, and he gave his life so that so many others may live. In the aftermath of the Terminus Invasion, Cynthia became increasingly depressed and introverted to the point that she was sent to an asylum, her infant son taken into foster care. Kristian, himself a dark and brooding introvert, was raised in orphanages and foster homes for nearly a decade, only seeing his mother once shortly before her death from leukemia. On the evening before his tenth birthday he was startled out of bed by a powerful hand gripping his mouth and a cold, emotionless voice whispering from the darkness of the room, "I knew your old man, and his son deserves better than this. Come with me and you'll learn the truth." Those words were the beginning of the end of Kristian Gerber. The next six and a half years of his life are like a haunting dream, slipping farther from him the harder he tries to remember, but some things he could never forget. The physical and mental conditioning, the combat drills, the obedience training, the survival tests: all administered by a single figure clad in full body armor known to him only as "Ronin". With his brutal yet thorough training nearly completed, Ronin gifted the young man with a suit of advanced combat armor resembling that of the original Razorwing's, an utility belt, and a custom motorcycle to aid him in his final test: infiltrate the Labyrinth and recover any data detailing the past of the mercenary group once known as Nemesis. To this end, Ronin has used his connections to have the boy placed in Ev Prep, the front for the nefarious training camp known as the Shadow Academy. Shortly after his arrival and striking up some quick friendships among the other students, Razorwing set forth to complete his mission under the cover of night. Finding an entrance to a high-tech laboratory deep beneath the grounds of Ev Prep, Razorwing successfully retrieved the data he was sent to obtain, though not without tripping an alarm. Narrowly avoiding an all-out confrontation with the students and faculty of the Shadow Academy, he delivered his package at the predetermined drop-off point, only to be ambushed by Ronin! Ronin took the data-disc and left the battered and beaten Razorwing with one final message before he departed: "Sorry kid, no loose ends." Cast out by his former mentor, he was all alone in a world he hardly understood. Razorwing must now come to terms with the latest raw deal that life has dealt him and strive to become his own man. Shortly after learning that his heart housed a dormant nanite colony, Kris Gerber left Freedom City to travel the world in search of answers. After months of globe-trotting with no solid evidence of who implanted the nanites in him or to what ends, he has returned to Freedom City to confront the one man who he knew would have all the answers. Personality & Motivation: Many would describe Kristian Gerber as a sociopath, and they would be right. His life before Ronin's tutelage was lacking in all the qualities that led to the healthy psychological development of a child, and his intense training at the hands of a gun-for-hire did little to reinforce what little positive influences Kristian had. He had always thought of himself as a weapon forged to do battle at the whims of the highest bidder, but now he feels he has a new purpose. Abandoned by the only person he's ever really known and hunted by one of the largest villainous conglomerates in the world, Razorwing has decided to use his skills and fighting abilities to combat the injustices of the world that he himself had once committed. Powers & Tactics: A skilled martial artist and acrobat, Razorwing uses his utility belt's array of weaponry and his state-of-the-art grapple gun to full advantage to even the playing field against his adversaries before going in close for the finish. His costume, the Raptor Mk. II Advanced Combat Armor, was a prototype developed for the SAS but never saw mass production due to the enormous price tag. It's mission profile specifications were designed for stealthy infiltration/ex-filtration operations. On top of a remarkable resistance to environmental temperature and ballistic damage, the suit possesses a set of retractable "glider wings" that allow for airborne delivery and the cowl houses an advanced communication and sensor suite. The grapple gun was another prototype that was mothballed due to an unpractical cost and lack of demand, researched and developed by ASTRO Labs. His new subterranean headquarters, an abandoned training facility once used by a mysterious organization know as the Murder League, is located a few miles southwest of the municipal landfill. Complications: Enemies: Branded a traitor by the Shadow Academy, a security threat by the Labyrinth, and a failure by Ronin, Razorwing is constantly hunted by the forces set against him. Off the Grid: Kristian Gerber has been missing since he was ten years old. As such, he is without any form of identification (driver's license, social security card, etc.) unless he reports himself to the proper authorities. Kristian Gerber is dead to the world, and Razorwing prefers to keep it that way. Reputation: His years of combat training did not include "painless takedowns" or "submission moves" that are meant to subdue rather than terminate. Razorwing's tactics and philosophy on fighting are simple: put them down, hard and fast. He has no compunction about maiming or crippling his opponents if the need arises. In Brief: A young soldier trained specifically for urban warfare. 11. There wasn't much he could make out. He could feel the trembling of the earth against his prone body, the demonic legions rushing in for the killing blow. He could feel his right leg and arm, ablaze in agaony from broken bones and deep lacerations. And he could feel the determination of Freedom City's heroes as they stood against the horde in one final act of sacrifice. Then everything went black...
  12. Well, I have an excuse! I'll tell you when you're older =]
  13. I second Troubleshooter's motion! sorry for the extended delay, I moved up to Snowshoe, West Virginia for fame and fortune, though the internet connection up here sucks the big one O_o Apologies for any further tardiness, as I'm at an internet cafe (at 4:30 AM) and my time here will be sparse for the next few weeks.
  14. I assume we make these all at once and don't bother with negative's this time around? Toughness Save (1d20:3+8=11) (1d20:8+8=16) (1d20:13+8=21) (1d20:7+8=15) Wow... 8 wounds... poor lil' fella =p
  15. Damn, lady, that's a good grip! he thought to himself as she let go of his hand. He smiled down (or eye-level O_o) at Mona when she posed her question. "Well, sort of. I was in the thick, but I was just a tactical asset. I did my part," he looked up solemnly at the silhouette of Earth's Greatest Hero. A mangy beast of a cat rolled/pounced over a stretch of grass to rub the corner of it's one good eye on the leg of Kristian's sweatpants before playfully rolling/pouncing away.
  16. Normally, he'd have done his cardio workout either by rooftop and swing line or in the Underground's exercise room, but he had overheard Lynn talking about the "rush" that came with "pedaling your ass off through Riverside Park" and he decided to give it a shot. In the wake of the invasion, anything he could do that reminded him of normality was a welcome distraction to the images hellburnt into his mind's eye. Odd, then, that an eight foot woman sitting in the grass with an easel and canvas struck him as a regular sight. Wait, I've seen her before... at the mansion. Squeezing the brakes on his road bike, he pulled to a stop on the path not too far from where she was, looking up at the statue of Centurion. They hadn't exactly spoken, what with the "fight 'til our dieing breaths" mentality that had seen the heroes through to the end, but he recognized her. "Umm, hey," he said in a hushed, almost timid voice. "You're Fulcrum, right?" he asked as he dismounted his bicycle, his breath coming out as vapor in the morning chill. "You probably don't recognize me, but," he thought for a moment, not wanting to take up her leisure time but wanting to introduce himself and thank her for standing next to him in defense of the city... no, not just the city. The whole damn world. "I'm Kristian. I saw you there," he let a bit of his Razorwing persona slip out in his voice as he extended his hand to Fulcrum, knowing she would understand. Maybe not who the teenager was, exactly, but that he was there, and that they fought and bled together.
  17. He had exited the mansion as soon as the golden barrier fell, a wave of helplessness, dread, and loathing washing over the heroes that stood valiantly against the onslaught. He saw the powerhouses take the fight to the front lines, his teammate Colt unloading round after round into the rushing horde, a giant red man battering and skewering demons wholesale, and for the first time in a long time, he felt as if there was nothing he could do to help. He was a competent fighter and tactician, but when it came to exchanging blows with the forces of Hell, he found earlier today he was lacking. Hesitating for a moment, he took a deep breath to steady his nerves and let his mind formulate a plan of action. Maybe he couldn't stand toe-to-toe with the enemy, but he could harry them, unbalance them, make them easier pickings for his comrades in arms. Charging into a small pocket of demons, Razorwing used his stealth and agility to duck, weave, and tumble between furious claws and gnashing teeth, blindsiding the infernal host, distracting them to the best of his ability in hopes that he could lower their defenses and give a more powerful hero a shot at taking them down.
  18. In an attempt to add a little levity to the situation, Kristian remarked before continuing down the corridor, "If you ladies are done holding hands over there, follow me." Not too far off from the garage he stopped the group in front of an unmarked door. "Right through here. Watch your step, the light won't turn on until I enter," he said as he opened the door, hinting at some of the modifications he had made to the empty storage room. He waited until the group entered before walking in behind them and closed the door.

  20. Improvised Tool, Jack of all Trades, and Medicine to revive Jack. (1d20:13+3=16 Hero Point)
  21. The whole crew was now in the fight, and he was itching to get a piece of the action. First, he had to get Jack back on his feet. Breaking the capsule in his hand and waving the pungent vapors under his fallen friend's nostrils. C'mon, Jack, on your feet.
  22. Mah lady friend has arrived in town, so my posting will be erratic, at best. I'll check in when I can, but, you know =p
  23. Kris took a deep breath though his nose, held it for a moment, and let it out slowly through his mouth. He waited for Marcus to take Jack's hand, a cease-fire of sorts, though he knew the peace wouldn't last. There was a clash of personality between the two, a difference of what they thought made a hero. Their earlier exchange left a bitter taste in his mouth, though he thought better than to stoke the flames.
