  1. With the tour under way, Momentum sprung along with the white-clad aficionado, lingering only slightly longer than was probably necessary as he soared gently through the crisp autumn air. This was kind of nice, the boy thought, simply following along with the trio of more experienced heroes, careful to keep his pace somewhere between that of the leading man and the girl who couldn't be much older than he himself way behind. If nothing else, it was at least a pleasant change of pace from the terrible dinosaur-and-inferno filled week he'd been having thus far, and - in some sense - was wholly willing to submit to the authority of the adult figures... at least temporarily. He wasn't really paying attention to his surroundings, however, as he'd so plainly been instructed to do, only occasionally glancing down some deserted alleyway or side-street as he rose and fell with each leap. The boy in the red hoodie seemed perfectly fine to just bounce along and play follow-the-leader, taking the opportunity to idly observe the ensemble cast as they went curiously on how they carried themselves.
  2. Assuming Momentum is still top banana in the Initiative Order (and that this is a new round), he'll Delay his action until it's Cannonade's turn again. I shall wholeheartedly accept your suggestion to spam Teamwork now in hopes of putting this combat to rest; and laugh myself into a coma as Momentum begins rolling Natural 20's on a check that only requires him to roll a six or higher So... preemptive stuff... Round Breakdown: Free Action: Delay until Cannonade's Initiative. Move Action: Using Momentum's Speed (at Rank 10; 10,000 MPH/100,000' per Round) to suicidally get back into Melee Range with the flame-critter. Standard Action: Aid Action to lend Cannonade +5 to Attack (Aid + Teamwork 3) since Momentum has to act before him (and thus, can't know what to give him :|) Will make a fluff post once the Elemental goes, since I think he goes right before Momentum since he Delayed.
  3. Shuffling awkwardly in place, Noah eyeballed the unconscious thug just a little longer before pulling his own phone out, flipping it open to examine the time. The digital display remained as faithful as ever, and with ample time to spare before he felt it too risky to be out, Momentum stuffed the device right back into his jean pocket before returning to the odd-ball assemblage present atop the shoe store's roof. "If that's, like, an open invitation or whatever, I'd be game I guess." the boy spurts out, fidgeting slightly as he does so. "I mean, if you guys don't mind me tagging along and stuff. Not like I have anything better to do, y'know?"
  4. Saves: Toughness Save 1 = 26, Toughness Save 2 = 21 Status: Bruised (1)
  5. Blinking for a second through his tacky goggles, Noah takes a breath as he considers how to answer. It was a delicate question; he didn't want to seem too amateurish, especially given the presence of no doubt more experienced individuals than himself. He had to be self-confident and poised, a heroic symbol of youthful optimism and enthusiasm! "Uh..." he stammers, a great start to any confident statement, rubbing the back of his neck nervously. "Kinda new. To Freedom City, I mean." "Smooth, Noah. Real smooth." Looking downwards towards the incapacitated fellow from the clear vantage point, the subject of walking-and-talking proposed by Gabriel struck the young hero-in-training as a bit strange. It's no wonder that when he turned to face the shadowy floating form of Dyne and the white-clad man by his side that he cocked his head, jibbing a finger off towards the slumped over man with the zip-ties taught around his wrists. "What about, y'know, that guy? You're not just gonna leave him here and stuff are you??"
  6. Rolling his eyes as the familiar silhouette of a figure greeted him, Momentum barely contains himself from making a particularly childish and sarcastic remark in regards to his supposed stalking. If it weren't for the fact the situation was already awkward enough for him, Noah might very well have given in, Dyne's mask-clad partner-in-crime-fighting presence withstanding. "What he said," Momentum finally murmured out in response to his identity, clearing his throat afterwords in some vain attempt at regaining some semblance of dignity and professional self-esteem in the presence of his sometimes-colleague and the dapper looking guy now perching himself on the building. Four people with superpowers, gathered on a rooftop in the middle of the night without prior plans to do so; What were the odds? Pretty good, Noah surmised, as circumstance had brought the crew together in some strange mish-mosh of once giant odd-ball coincidence. Returning to the now, Momentum returned to face Wander before continuing the conversation. "Sometimes," he again murmurs, a halfhearted truth if he were counting this first excursion. "I mean, not every night and junk. Can't, y'know, be everywhere at once."
  7. "Hey!" Momentum bites back cautiously as the girl retracts her extend-o-bat, unaware of the pair of men rising towards the rooftop he and Wander currently shared. "I'm... I'm totally not! I've been doing this for, like, ever!" he pleaded, more for himself than the bat-toting vigilante who'd so deftly snuck up upon him. The boy's voice, however, was about as confident by comparison to the spandex-clad counterpart present; nigh non-existent. Momentum trails off, his lower lip locked in a death grip in his mouth as he bit down in contemplation. To say that the young would-be hero was rather awed by the woman's obvious talent, experience, and confidence would only be putting it mildly. She could have easily thrashed him in his moment of indecisiveness, frozen in fear and surprise. Either she was particularly benevolent for a criminal, or - at least Momentum hoped - was of a similar ilk as he was... or hoped to be. "Is it, like, really that obvious?" the hood-clad hero whispers, still affixed on his respectable better.
  8. If there was ever a moment Noah could vividly feel his heart skip a beat, it was now. The woman had startled him more than a little, his own wiry frame whirling to meet hers not out of self-defense, but earnest fear. His eyes were wide, mouth slightly agape even as the femme fatale brandished a baton in the boy's face. "I... uh..." he stammered, hands upraised defensively as his mind raced to find the words that would save him from being beaten about the face and neck by a gold-and-blue spandex clad girl. "I'm... uh... M-Momentum." Swallowing to clear the familiar tightness lodged in his own throat, Noah peered back at the girl sheepishly. "Who're you?" came the slightly muted reply, voice cracking under the sudden surprise and duress from the taller girl.
  9. With the setting of the sun, Momentum bounded to and fro across Freedom City's Southside, the bitter chill of the constant rise and fall as he leapt and soared through the cool autumn air barely warded off by the tacky-but-practical hoodie the hero so frequently found himself garbed in. It was refreshing, really, the slight breeze on his face as he soared on high; a simple but familiar sensation which reminded the transplanted youth of his home he'd not so long ago left. The night was particularly exciting, though that's hardly saying anything for a young man who frequently found himself sneaking out of his second-story bedroom window nightly after curfew. There hadn't been any crime, no hints of a scuffle or signs of a robbery to be had - at least not yet - but it was the thrill of traversing elsewhere, to someplace new and somewhat alien. Momentum had grown fairly familiar with the Midtown district since his arrival in Freedom City nearly a month ago, his nightly excursions to learn its nooks and crannies a testament to his strange sense of devotion or derangement as some sort of either inspired or delusional hero. But this place - Southside, as they called it - was wholly foreign, its seedier locale a nice change of pace from the middle-class and up-scale establishments the youth had since committed to memory. From above, Noah peered down at the barely illuminated streets below; the tell-tale signs of streetlamps flickering along the roadside to light the path. And then something caught his eye: there, along the street, was not one, but two costumed individuals cornering a man. Even through the opaque goggles straddling the boy's face, the sight looked odd. Was the man in trouble? Was he a criminal about to be paid his dues? A misunderstanding? It was impossible to tell from so high up, the behooded teen already plummeting from his previous jump. "Ooo! This looks like trouble." As Momentum came to a clumsy, almost hapless stop as his feet touched down on the small roof of what he could only surmise to be some sort of shoe store, the teen hero ogled the spectacle more thoroughly. One of the gentlemen he readily recognized; it wasn't the first time they had crossed paths, Momentum and Dyne. But this other guy... no one he was familiar with. But hey, he didn't seem to be picking a fight with Dyne, despite the civilian lunging about dangerously towards the two, and that was good enough for him. It was kind of neat, Momentum found, to watch more experienced heroes do what they did best. Sure, it might seem lazy, but sometimes it's better not to get in the way like that; a fact Momentum had learned the hard way since his heroic tenure in Freedom City began. And so he watched like some sort of red-breasted shmuck, hands stuffed in his pockets as the scene unfolded. Beside him, however, remained another individual, one he'd wholly failed to notice during his descent; too busy staring at the pair of men in heroic garb as they dealt with the odd-ball individual between them.
  10. Round Breakdown: Move Action: Approach Wesley Standard Action: Aid Action (DC 10) to grant Wesley +5 Defense (Aid + Teamwork 3) against Dinosaurs.
  11. "This is so stupid," bemoaned Noah, scribbling furiously into his composition notebook as he observed a particularly boring yellow flower, its leafy foliage as equally uninteresting as the high school sophomore was in the plant itself. "Who'd want to study a plant anyway?" With another sigh as the teen finished jotting down his observations for his biology homework, he stuffed the notebook into the puke green backpack straddling his shoulders, the familiar feeling of his semi-trademarked plastic goggles brushing against his hand and the hard-covered book noisily. Perhaps it was idle optimism, or deranged sycophantic tendencies at its lowest form, but regardless of whatever it was that inspired Momentum to pack his costume, he'd done so. Not that it did him much good, of course, given that there wasn't exactly any crime fighting to be done in broad daylight in the park... And then the boy's ears piqued at something most peculiar. There was a... a squealing? Yes, he was certain of it. Some kind of icky, disturbing squeal. But it was odd not in the sound itself, but that it was one he'd never heard before. A very strange, almost alien vocalization. His curiosity is quickly compounded upon as a strange fellow begins floating off towards the location of the wailing audio-catastrophe. Following along behind the familiar odd-ball man floating through the air with the greatest of ease, Momentum - in civilian duds - saunters along from the rear to investigate this most bizarre wail. Peering at the watery shoal of the river, Noah's eyes go wide as the sight becomes a vast realization of horror and terror. There, still slightly poised in their half-cracked shells, were honest to goodness dinosaurs! And a man in the middle! A man in the middle being snapped at by dinosaurs! "Oh man!" shrieked the awe-struck hero in drab, unassuming attire as he reeled at the sight of the large, semi-hatched purple eggs. "Are those... are those frickin' dinosaurs?!" Doing what arguably might be the single stupidest thing imaginable, Noah approaches the large fellow in the midst of the lizards and gives a firm tug to try and pull him from the midst of the snapping, hungry creatures.
  12. Just got home from work. Will post here in a little bit for Momentum. Pre-Emptive Initiative = 19 EDIT: Excuse my belated post. Breakdown for round-action (if we're now considered "in-combat") will be at the bottom, but I've got a question: what's the current date in Dinosaur-filled Riverside-ville? >.> Round Breakdown: Full-Round Action: Refocus to bump up to Initiative 28, so that next round (again, assuming we're counting "rounds" at this point), Momentum'll be able to power stunt Quickness 20 and change into his Costume and enter the fray next round.
  13. Stars. Stars and an uncomfortable wave of heat was all Noah could see in the wake of being struck by the gargantuan elemental, his footing nearly losing itself in the puddle of water as he staggered from the concussive blow. His kinetic barrier - with what little protection it had offered - rippled out of existence in the wake of the massive strike even as the raging inferno of a fist nearly took Momentum's head off, the sudden evaporation of moisture from his being resulting in a flush of dry heat and nigh-comical elevation of once-matted hair. "Should have... stayed in class..." Even as the other heroic personages attempted to thwart - or, at the very least, distract - the flaming entity from incinerating the hero in the red hoodie, Noah was still busy reeling from the attack, barely aware of the situation around him as his head swam. With one final shake of his head and a caustic readjustment of his goggles, Momentum's vision cleared and his knees ceased to buckle. Things definitely weren't going as well as they could be, and the situation was only growing more and more problematic. The building's integrity, no doubt, had suffered terribly from the rampaging monstrosity's assaults; and the constant counter-attacks from the supposed good guys probably wasn't helping much on that front either. This conflict needed to end before the whole building came crashing down on Momentum's head! If the elemental just wasn't wreathed in flame, maybe the other superheroes could do something about it; put it down or extinguish it completely or... or something. If they didn't, all those people gawking outside could end up like a giant flambe'! Despite the nigh-tangible fear lodged in his stomach, Momentum knew he needed to do his part. He was stuck, for better or worse, with the ball of fire wreaking havoc on the Boardwalk now, and it was now quite literally do-or-die in the young, inexperienced hero's eyes. Mustering up the remainder of his courage, Momentum clenched a fist and cocked it back, teeth grit as he swung his wiry appendage outwards towards the belligerent creatures' backside with all the power he could muster before zipping off to find cover.
  14. Round Breakdown: Free Action: Re-Activate Force Field Standard Action: Extra-Effort All-Out Power Attack Kinetic Control Blast 9 @ Flaming Elemental from Behind - Whiff. Also, I fail at notation as I forgot to denote Extra Effort to up Kinetic Control from 7 to 9, but meh. - Spending last Hero Point on Improve Roll for the Extra Effort All-Out Power Attack Kinetic Control Blast 9, which also probably Whiffs unless the elemental loses his defense bonus from being attacked from the rear since I can't seem to roll anything higher than an eight for Momentum. Move Action: Using Momentum's Speed (at Rank 10; 10,000 MPH/100,000' per Round) to get out of the fray and fine some cover from Mr. Combustiblepants. EDIT: Was in a hurry before leaving work. Sorry for the terrible lack of information. Toughness DC (if it hits) is 27 (15 + 9 from Extra Effort Kinetic Control Blast + Power Attack 3), and Momentum's Defense drops to 4 (6 Base - 2 All-Out Attack)
  15. Should have said something to avoid confusion last night. My bad. Also, Concentration Check to see if Momentum's Sustained Force Field remains active at the start of the next round, which fails by two. Momentum has a Toughness of +1 until he's un-stunned.
  16. Blinking a few times as the young hero processed all that had transpired inside the now-drenched building, Momentum gawked onwards momentarily as the men who had been so intent on gunning him down met with a rather unceremonious end literally at the hands of the second man to appear near the building. It's an awkward silence for Noah, unsure what to say as he stands there soggily, hair matted and socks now uncomfortably squishy with the influx of liquid to quell the remaining flames; finally, however, he turns to address both his savior and new-found idol. "That. Was. Awesome!" the young boy exclaims with incredible immaturity, obviously blown away by the display of raw physical power exhibited by the helmet-haired hero as his fear subsided in favor of awe. "I mean, they were all... and you were like... uh... right. Like, sorry!" With another awkward glance, Momentum returned to the situation proper; there wasn't time to be astounded by feats of supernatural strength and blinding lights now! The newest conundrum needed to be dealt with, and dealt with quickly at that. In the wake of the unexpected development of men trying to kill him, there now remained a half-dozen formerly machine-gun toting nut-jobs stuck inside a building which - given the raging angst of the weird fire-thing - likely wasn't a good place to be unconscious in. Even if they were terrible, horrible people, Momentum knew he'd have to do something to get them to safety... but even he couldn't do it alone. At least, not without the flaming fiend flailing foppishly at the fire-enriched facility. "We... uh... we need to get these guys out of here!" the hoodie-wearing boy insisted, pointing halfheartedly at the unconscious heaps present before scooping up the fire extinguisher he'd so haplessly dropped during all the smoke-filled confusion. "I don't think I can carry them. I mean, look at me! But you; man, you're built like a frickin' truck, dude!" Momentum prattled on, looking upwards towards the substantially taller man from what felt like hundreds of feet below. Surely this giant of a man could handle carrying one or two of the sleeping gentlemen outside, and it wasn't like Noah had finesse necessary to do so himself, much to his own embarrassment. "I... I don't know what else to do, so I'm gonna try and keep this... uh... fire-thing busy. Or something. You can handle carrying a few of these guys, right?" The red-lined kid doesn't even wait for an answer, however, as he streaks off towards what might very well be certain doom, a red hue of kinetic energy and the rapid splish-splash of water filling the air as he goes until he comes to a stop beside the hulking entity wreathed in flames. "Hey! Hey, you!" Momentum chided with extinguisher in-hand, waving his arms stupidly to get the creature's attention. "Over here, guy! Betcha you c-c-can't get me!" "Oh man, this is such a bad idea..." With one, final act of either brilliance or sheer stupidity, Momentum pointed the extinguisher at the combustible customer and squeezed the trigger, letting loose the foamy coolant towards the not-so-cool cat in defiance.
  17. Round Breakdown: Free Action: Speaketh unto Cannonade. Move Action: Pick-Up Fire Extinguisher (Again). Move Action: Using Speed (Rank 10; 10,000 MPH/100,000' per Round) to approach the Flaming Bad Guy and get its attention. Standard Action (Extra Effort Surge): Fire the Fire Extinguisher at the Flaming Bad Guy to try and guarantee said attention. Not sure if it actually needs an Attack Roll or not, but I included one anyway. Hero Point: Spending one of Momentum's two Hero Points to Cancel Fatigue before his next turn.
  18. No time to post right now, but I'm assuming all Momentum has left is a Move Action this round since he readied a Standard Action which fizzled after Cannonade wrecked everyone Anyway, assuming the above, there's... really not a lot he can do, even if he Surges with Extra Effort for another Standard Action, so I guess I'll just have Momentum waffle there for a minute. I'll see about getting a fluff post up as soon as I have more time when I get home.
  19. Already has a non-AoE Snare (via Bolas) and a "Generic Smokescreen" (via Smoke Pellets). As for the Grapple Gun bit, that's more of an issue with simply having too many Device Points left over, and thus needed to expend the last one on something that the character didn't already have, but I see where you're coming from. Took your suggestion though regarding Quick Change and Blind-Fight. Switched those out respectively. Don't really have the points for Evasion currently, so meh.
  20. As per suggestion, amendments have been made: Took the Attack/Damage trade-off at +3/-3 Reduced Device from 11 to 8, and recouped 9pp Dropped Wisdom from 12 to 10 Added a boatload of skills, and specialized as per recommendation Hit new Ranged Attack Cap and Defense Bonus through remaining points Still open to critique at this point. By all means, rip my build apart and make me cry, you magnificently mechanically-savvy masochists! :P
  21. So, yeah. I have no idea how to build a character who is - in essence - a Badass Normal (and obvious Green Hornet Expy). With an individual who has superpowers, I found it pretty simple: character has powers, this is how they use them. With someone whom is devoid of any real supernatural abilities, however, I feel as though I'm lacking... something. I don't know. Given that I didn't really know what I was and still don't know what I'm doing, I feel it might be time to inquire for some mechanical assistance. Originally, I'd used AvengerAssembled's awesome Oddball Archetype of the same design, whilst taking a smattering of suggestions presented by the Masked Avenger Archetype found in the Golden Age Sourcebook for inspiration. Taking those two ideas, I conjured this up, but it still feels... I don't know, like there's something better I could be spending points on to make the character more effective with its own gimmickry. In short, I was shooting for a strangely "Green Hornet" or - dare I say - "Sherlock Holmes"ish character, sporting an amateurish level of sleuthing ability and combat prowess; relying more so on contacts, personal resources, and crowd-control ability rather than brute force and constant bouts of fisticuffs with antagonists. After all, it's much easier to punch someone in the face when they're placated by Nausea or some such rather than going toe-to-toe as a squishy normal with a snake motif. EDIT: Since I'm sure it's likely to come up, yes, I know there's no combat block as-of-yet. This is due to the fact that the character doesn't really have much in the way beyond his/her mitts with which to deal damage currently (though that's subject to change, given input), even though (s)he retains a multitude of ways to... well, confound enemies, via the Gimmick Gun. Also trying hard to keep away from the "guns are dark and edgy" cliche', if entirely possible. Therefore, trying to avoid ballistics of the generic bullet variety and such, and attempting to retain some semblance of Golden Age-ness, if that makes any sense. --------------------------------------------------------------- The Black Asp Power Level: 10 (150/150PP) Trade-Offs: +3 Attack/-3 Damage, +3 Defense/-3 Toughness In Brief: If “The Green Hornet†was wealthy, didn’t need to waste frivolous amounts of time as a newspaper publisher, took another level in Badass, and actually fought more than just three recurring street-level villains and a deranged detective… Abilities: 4 + 0 + 4 + 6 + 0 + 4 = 18pp Str 14 (+2) Dex 10 (+0) Con 14 (+2) Int 16 (+3) Wis 10 (+0) Cha 14 (+2) Combat: 12 + 10 = 22pp Initiative: +4 (+0 Dexterity + 4 Improved Initiative) Attack: +6 (+6 Base, +13 Ranged) Grapple: +7 Defense: +13 (+5 Base, +7 Dodge Focus), +2 Flat-Footed Knockback: -2 Saving Throws: 5 + 10 + 5 = 20pp Toughness: +7 (+2 Con, +4 Defensive Roll, +1 Snakeskin Jacket) Fortitude: +7 (+2 Con, +5) Reflex: +10 (+0 Dex, +10) Will: +5 (+0 Wis, +5) Skills: 104r = 26pp Acrobatics 10 (+10) Bluff 13 (+15) Diplomacy 8 (+10) Drive 8 (+8) Gather Information 8 (+10) Investigate 12 (+15) Knowledge [streetwise] 7 (+10) Language [English (Native)] Notice 12 (+12) Search 8 (+10) Sense Motive 8 (+8) Stealth 10 (+10) Feats: 40PP Attack Focus (Ranged) 7 Benefit 2 (Wealth 2/Rich) Blind-Fight Connected Contacts Defensive Roll 2 Dodge Focus 7 Elusive Target 1 Equipment 8 (40ep) Evasion 1 Improved Initiative 1 Power Attack Quick Draw 1 Skill Mastery (Bluff, Investigate, Notice, Stealth) Takedown Attack 1 Taunt Uncanny Dodge 2 (Auditory, Visual) Well-Informed Powers: 24 = 24PP Abilities (18) + Combat (22) + Saving Throws (20) + Skills (26) + Feats (40) + Powers (24) - Drawbacks (0) = 150pp
  22. "Nonononono!" Raising his hands in a last-ditch effort to save himself from a flurry of fisticuffs and a hail of bullets, Momentum - through a combination of luck, natural talent, and mutant prowess - stood idly as the thugs beat their fists against the nigh-invisible kinetic field protecting the young teen, whilst bullets flattened and plopped to the smoke-filled floor of the building ineffectually. Would he have had the time, Momentum might have emitted a sigh of relief at not being turned into a neatly produced piece of Swiss cheese; alas, such luxuries were not to be had, given the raging inferno and smoke filling the building, not to mention the civilians-turned-gunmen trying desperately to kill him! And then there was a bright light; brighter than Noah had ever seen before as spots danced daintily within his peripheral vision. Too distracted by the situation at hand to know where the flash of radiance came from but nevertheless glad his goggles weren't completely useless, Momentum steeled himself in preparation for the second wave of gunfire, belaying locating the source of the impromptu flash afterward. More surprises abounded, however, as the same helmet-headed hero who'd so serendipitously rebutted the flames engulfing the pair of buildings into much smaller pyres arrived, much to the young teen's relief. Help was definitively something the now literally wet-behind-the-ears kid needed at this point. Relegating to the no-doubt more experienced and supposed crime-fighter's expertise, Momentum turned his attention to the man calling the shots - in more ways than one - readying himself to act at just the right time so as not to accidentally step on his alleged comrade's toes. The last thing Noah needed was to unintentionally endanger the man in the funny helmet more so than he already was!
  23. Saves Before Post: DC 18 Reflex Save vs. Dazzle (Auditory + Visual): 15/20 (Roll 8 + 7 Reflex/+12 Visual w/ Flash Goggles) - Afflicted by Auditory Dazzle; Initiative Drops to +21 due to being Deafened DC 18 Fortitude Save to Recover from Auditory Dazzle: 17 (Roll 13 + 5 Fortitude) - Still Afflicted by Auditory Dazzle EDIT: I'm an idiot. Read that as "Auditory" instead of "Radio." Not deafened. Excuse my stupidity. Round Breakdown: Free Action: Delay till' after Cannonade but before Bad Guys in the Initiative Order. Standard Action: Setting up a Ready Action to perform an All-Out (+2 Attack/-2 Defense) Kinetic Control Blast Attack to go off if Fanetti is still conscious after Cannonade's antics. Defense Bonus drops to +4, and Attack Bonus rises to +7. Triggered Standard Action - All-Out Kinetic Control Blast Attack @ Fanetti: 25 (Roll 18 + 5 Attack Bonus + 2 All-Out Attack); DC22 Toughness to Save Move Action: None. Nowhere to really go at the moment that would be beneficial, so forfeiting the rest of Momentum's turn.
  24. Holding off on posting again, but making my saves and such ahead of time. Since I didn't explicitly say he'd activated it in any post - which may be Momentum's undoing! - but assume Momentum's not totally stupid enough to go running off without it on, his Force Field would have auto-saved against the damage (Impervious Force Field 4), but again, since I didn't say he did so, I'll leave that up to DM interpretation and posteth those saveths in-case you rule it as such: Toughness = +3 (CON +1 + Defensive Roll 2) DC 17 Toughness vs. Unarmed Thug's Attack #1: 11 (Roll 8 + Toughness 3) - Stunned + Bruised Toughness = +2 (CON +1 + Defensive Roll 2 - Bruised) DC 17 Toughness vs. Unarmed Thug's Attack #2: 11 (Roll 9 + 2 Defensive Roll) - Stunned + Bruised 2 Toughness = +1 (CON +1 + Defensive Roll 2 - Bruised 2) DC 18 Toughness vs. Fanetti's Machine Gun: 8 (Roll 7 + Toughness 1) - Bruised + Staggered
  25. Cupping his free hand over his mouth and coughing lightly in the hazy aftermath of the incendiary cloud conjured by the raging elemental targeting the sprinkler systems, Momentum made his way gingerly towards the group of men cowering from the sudden attack. Relieved to have found them unscathed by the inferno brewing atop the sixth floor, it was now simply a matter of quietly escorting the endangered individuals out the way Noah had just come whilst the inflamed individual terrorizing the technological hydrants remained preoccupied. And then the unthinkable happened. "What the crap?!" Ashley sputtered out between panicked coughs, his own matted down hair whipping him in the face as he jerked from the sight laid before him even as the fire extinguisher clattered to the ground. Sure, the clickety-clack of metal-on-metal was nothing new to the teen hero's ears, but when the lot of the 'civilians' turned to face him with machine guns, a tightness took hold in the boy's throat, and tension filled his stomach. These guys weren't board executives; they were criminals! Like today wasn't bad enough already. Momentum had to think fast or he'd be pumped full of lead, but he couldn't just leave them here to face the creature of searing flames alone! Stepping forward as quickly as he could muster, the goggle-clad teen cocked back and clenched his fist, adding just a bit of familiar kinetic oomph as he let loose with a mean right hook towards the gun-toting crook's jaw, silently praying the other man wouldn't risk firing at his friend... or Momentum!
