  1. Thought I used all my actions, but hey! Momentum won't look a gift horse in the mouth. Round Breakdown (con't): Standard Action: Weasel in close and heave-ho with a Strike (Strike 7; Penetrating Extra; Full Power Drawback) with one of the two machine-gun wielding mobsters. I'm guessing they're all kinda bunched together, so I think Momentum's mostly going to bank on the other guy firing into melee and hopefully not looking forward to shooting his pals. Attack Roll for Strike: 18 (Roll 13 + 5 Base Attack Bonus)
  2. Round Breakdown: Move Action: Retrieving the Fire Extinguisher using the Manipulate Object Action. Move Action: Using Speed (Rank 10; 10,000 MPH/100,000' per Round) to ascend to the Sixth Floor as hastily as possible and locate the civilians therein.
  3. With the sprinkler system in full swing, the now-soggy de-hooded hero stood agape as the massive fiery chair clattered destructively to ground level, wood splintering and crackling from the impact as its remains smoldered in its wake. While it remained an uncertainty to Momentum as to whether the hulking creature wreathed in flames had been deterred from its original target or not, that remained a mostly moot point for the time being. The guy in the helmet was a superhero; he could probably take care of himself anyway! "Sixth floor. Sixth floor. Sixth floor." Noah repeated, his mental mantra a conscientious reminder for the ultra-important task at hand. Somewhere upstairs civilians remained inside the danger-ridden building, and between the sudden conflagration and the appearance of a malign entity intent on causing damage, there was no telling what else laid in wait five floors up from where the young hero now stood. "I can't believe I'm missing second period for this!" Through wasting time, Momentum pulled his hand into the sleeve of his red-hued hoodie and struck the glass where the fire extinguisher lay in wait to be claimed like some sort of vital inventory item in a video game, unsure of whether or not the fiery fiend above had been quelled or not, let alone potential pyres inside sealed rooms which were unable to be extinguished. The last thing he needed, after all, was finding a slightly-toasty executive upstairs! Extinguisher in hand and pushing a wet strand of hair from his face, Momentum once more burst into action, a visible redshift the token signature of his own enhanced speed as he careened up the stairs towards the sixth floor and the endangered citizens.
  4. Gotcha. Was waiting to give Supercape a chance to do whatever-it-is someone named Supercape does, but I guess I can muster something up :P
  5. Round Breakdown: Free Action: Inquire as to the health of the secretary. Not a lot Momentum can do about it currently, but you never know... Move Action: Using Speed (Rank 10; 10,000 MPH/100,000' per Round) to re-enter the same building with what I suspect is the Fire Elemental, and stopping at the ground floor fire alarm. Move Action: Pulling the Fire Alarm using the Manipulate Object Action to try and set the sprinkler system off.
  6. Coughing a bit as he and his secretarial escort emerge from the building unscathed, Momentum sputtered a bit as the sudden influx of inhaled smoke makes its own escape from his system. His impromptu outfit little singed in some places despite his absurd speed, the young hero was otherwise unharmed, sharing a similar condition to the woman he'd so recklessly charged in to save only seconds before. Even now, however, Noah knew there had to be more than just one lone receptionist inside the office building suffering from a strangely bizarre conflagration courtesy of the ominous entity locked away within the sanguine dome. "You okay, lady?" the hooded teen inquired, exhaling the last of the smoke before straightening up, her physical condition looking none the worse for wear from what little the hero knew about being swept up in a fire. He knew he'd need to get right back into the inferno, and he had to get the people out before both buildings became wholly engulfed... And then a miracle happened. From atop a nearby building, a lone man in a strange helmet let loose a torrent of air, the flames flickering from the buildings in the wake of his super-human exhalation even as Noah's own hood dropped off from his head from the unnatural gust. A smile creeps its way over the youth's face, a wave of relief so profound washing over him that it was night palpable as he looked skywards towards his savior; all too grateful for the assistance. Or he was, right up until a flaming couch came sailing through the air and right into the fellow who'd so prodigiously extinguished the malign fires! Whirling around, Momentum's eyes went wide through his slightly foggy goggles as he saw the figure who had no doubt launched the comfortable projectile. It was... something. Something he'd never seen before, and was hard to understand. It looked somewhat like a person that was set ablaze, but not a person. His mind fumbled the concept, far too preoccupied with other thoughts. Chief amongst those being that while the building wasn't currently emulating a massive barbecue, it was now populated by some sort of... fire-creature-thing, sharing its occupancy with people still trapped inside! And whatever it was, it seemed like it was intent on causing harm; and it obviously meant business. But what could Noah do against something that looked like it was made of pure frickin' fire?! And then came the epiphany. With another burst of kinetic speed and leaving a familiar trail of vibrant red energy in his wake, Momentum once more rocketed back into the building. He'd seen it when he first came into the smoke-infested workplace, its own red box with white emergency letters eye-catching even in the once hazy room. There, at the entrance, he spied it once more: the as-of-yet unused fire alarm. Maybe -- just maybe! -- if he tripped it, the sprinklers would cut on. If it worked and nothing else could be accomplished, maybe it'd be enough to at least turn the focus of the unknown thing on the fifth floor's attention away from the superhuman in the helmet. It was worth a shot at the least! With one forceful tug, the goggled teen kineticist pulled the lever of the alarm.
  7. Since it looks like Momentum's up again (and I suspect the aforementioned building he crashed through is now extinguished for the most part), can he readily see the fire elemental-thingy from ground level beyond the flying inferno of what was once a likely beloved couch?
  8. Round Breakdown: Move Action: Using Momentum's Speed (at Rank 10; 10,000 MPH/100,000' per Round) to try and get into the Right Building, trying to move fast enough to avoid actually catching himself on fire. If Civilians are visibly present on the Ground Floor: Momentum'll use a Free Action to try and get two of the civilians to cooperate, and then use his second Move Action to utilize his Speed (again at Rank 10; 10,000 MPH/100,000' per Round) and its Affects Other Extra to escort them out of the burning building ASAP.
  9. With visible pain etching its way into his face, Momentum cringes as the horrific voice speaks forth from the red hue beyond where the Luxury Casino once existed. Its terrifying threats curdled the young hero's blood, his own lips furling inwards as he bit downwards out of sheer terror from the ominous presence clearly present somewhere in the sanguine haze, vividly afraid even as a caped crusader hovered overhead; applying no comfort for the teen mutant. Things only proceeded to go from bad to worse as the anonymous entity made good on its threat, flames streaking outwards from the red dome and engulfing the pair of adjacent buildings with unnatural speed and efficiency. Whatever it was this frightening voice wanted to accomplish, it seemed malicious in its intent to do so; enough to attempt incinerating an unknown number of civilians inside the humble buildings! A little white in the face, Momentum turned back to the elder officer, a pleading disposition plastered in his eyes. This was way out of the young Canadian's league, and he knew it. "You've got to do something! Call the fire depart--" but the youth trails off, the officers gazing off towards the titular sphere of crimson from whence the voice originated, their faces now as blank and listless as those of the patrons Noah had so desperately tried to disperse. They looked strange, their eyes glazed as they focused on the glow, oblivious to everything else around them; either out of a sense of mortification, awe, or some other sensation Momentum was unfamiliar with. Whether it was in his realm of experience or not, it became quickly apparent that Momentum would have to do something. He needed to at least try! "Uh... you guys stay here, 'kay? Don't move!" the wimpy-looking hero pleaded, motioning towards the crowd of civilians to simply stay put. Turning towards the right-most inflamed building, Momentum felt the familiar tightness in his throat as an amalgam of fear and adrenaline filled his being. It was up to him and the other heroes present to do their thing, or those people inside were going to end up really crispy. It was time for the boy to step up and prove he could really handle himself, even if that meant forgoing logic in favor of youthful optimism. With a burst of kinetic speed, Momentum streaked off towards the workplace-turned-pyre, a bright red streak trailing behind him as he arced towards the entryway with blinding speed. If he was quick -- if he poured on the steam -- maybe he could get everyone out of the building before it was too late. Maybe, assuming he didn't burst into flames trying to crash through the front door!

  11. "At least some of them aren't total idiots..." With his verbose speech given and proven to be at least somewhat effective, Momentum gave himself a mental pat on the back, rather proud of himself for a job well done. Or he would have, had the bulk of crowd actually started to dissipate after his instructions from the ominous red aura engulfing the no-doubt once magnificent Luxury casino. Faltering as the crowd murmurs its acknowledgment of the situation but refuses to move, Noah furled his brow and clenched his fists in annoyance. Clearly, the bulk of the public concession were only vaguely listening to him at best; haplessly humoring the young be-hooded hero at worst. Either way, he didn't like it! "Well? Go on! Like, get goin'!" he chimed, a little wounded that he had to redouble his efforts to shoo the onlookers away before the police could do more than just hold the crowd at bay. "Didn't you hear me? Are you guys deaf or something? I said go home already! It's not safe here and junk!" Looking back at both the senior officer and the gargantuan crimson effigy, Noah bit his lower lip, now at a loss as to what to do. Clearly, these good people need to get lost, but they were either too stubborn, too sheepish, or just outright disregarding Momentum's attempts at getting them to do so.
  12. "Likewise. 'Bout to crash, so I guess I'll bounce and junk too," Momentum replied, yawning again in the wake of the still darkened morning. All this excitement had left the otherwise energetic kineticist drained and depleted. And yet, despite his sleepiness, there was a strange sensation of peppiness in his step. Striding a few feet from Creature Feature and Carrie, his ever chagrin-inducing female handler, the young hooded hero turned one last time to bid farewell to his serendipitously met allies. "You guys know how to, like, get in touch with me," the young teen hummed, throwing a casual wave as he bade his farewells. "So I guess I'll catch you guys later. Nice meetin' you, and... uh... sorry about the whole, y'know, attacking you thing. My bad!" And with that said and done, the boy known as Momentum took one powerful stride towards the familiar area of Midtown, launching himself skyward with one prodigious leap with little more than a red hue in his wake from the sudden burst of kinetic force. In a flash the youth is gone, sailing over trees and buildings alike as he arced into the night sky and out of sight; the sweet siren song of sleep ushering him aerially homeward.
  13. "Uh... thanks, I guess?" Momentum said, a little surprised by the sudden exchange of information as he took the slip of parchment wholeheartedly. It was a strange occurrence, but Noah was nevertheless ecstatic at the prospect of having potential allies -- or at least some super-powered friends who understood his situation -- in his lil' black book of contacts. Just goes to show what a little misunderstanding can accomplish! There might also be the slightest urge to make a joke about getting a girl's phone number, but given the sardonically vexatious woman know as Carrie's disposition throughout the evening since his own (in)opportune arrival in Liberty Park, Noah thought better against it, stifling a minor chuckle even as he slipped the number into his pocket. Turning to face Creature Feature, Ashley paused for a moment, letting loose a light yawn from his lengthy sojourn into the proverbial Stygian Abyss that was Freedom City by nightfall. "Dude, relax," came the cracking but merry voice of the weary red-hooded hero, his vain attempts at remaining level-headed almost undone by his sheer excitement at the prospect of having a superhero on speed-dial. "We just met. If you're, y'know, uncomfortable or whatever about giving out info, that's cool. Totally understand. Gotta protect that whole secret identity thing. Not like I was... uh... gonna give out my cell number anyway. No offense." Giving time to let the awkwardness pass, Momentum continued on, intent on ending this encounter in a positive light. "But hey, don't sweat it! You've got a computer, right?" he inquired, then aptly smacked himself in the forehead. "Duh. Yeah, you do. Everyone does! Anyway, if you don't wanna, like, keep handing out your... uh... your parents' phone number to everyone and junk, you should try using something like Twitter. I mean, that's what I do. Just, I dunno, whip up an account or whatever and hit me up. I use the same name, all lowered-cased and junk. Just replace the O with a zero and the E with a three in 'Momentum'." Pausing for a second, Noah couldn't help but notice just how much his suggestion began to sound like a bad plug. A really bad plug. "Uh... or, y'know, whatever. Your secret's safe with me if you really wanna gimme your number, dude."
  14. With Creature Feature having thoroughly enjoyed the brief stint of super-speed, Momentum gave the gargantuan gentleman time to digest what had transpired. He took a step back, too, just in-case some sort of unforeseen side-effects were to take place, as the grimace on the wolfguy's face so dangerously implied. "Yeah," Ashley smiled with an upbeat and chipper disposition, stuffing his hands right back into his hoodie's pockets. "I guess it's pretty sweet and stuff, as long as you don't... uh... swallow a bug or whatever." Turning to Silhouette, Momentum again beamed at the young woman with the paint-splattered pants and notepad in hand. "I guess so," he replied in reference to the team operation bit, rubbing the back of his head sheepishly. "So, like, is that just what you want me to do? Try and, like, act like some sort of Zoom-or-whatever-it's-called crazy-guy zippin' around so... uh... Creature Feature can bash me in the head? Nothing else?"
  15. Nodding, Noah took the fuzzy paw extended outwards. "We'll keep it short then, I guess," Momentum assured, using his free hand to draw a circular perimeter in the air. "Around the park real quick and junk, then right back." Taking a deep breath, the teen hero in the red hoodie steadied himself, eager to get the sprint started. He hadn't yet used his phenomenal speed today, and -- at least on some level -- the inexperienced crime-fighter relished the opportunity to zip about with gusto. "Alright! Here we go!" With a violent burst of kinetic energy, Momentum began his neck-breaking escapade, dragging poor Creature Feature along by his massive paw as he went. The two were a blur, a pair of high-speed enigmas along the dimly lit outskirts of Liberty Park; a few heartbeats and the rush of the wind the only indication that time moved forward. In a flash, the two were right back where they started, a fraction of time passed so minute that it's likely not worth mentioning as the pair came to a stop near Silhouette. For Noah, it was a refreshing feeling and he reveled in the rush, a welcome change from the bouncy birds-eye view of the city from above. "Woo!" he chimed energetically, clearly having enjoyed his seconds-long sprint across the park as he smiled, pleased as punch. "And that's what it's like."
  16. "Yeah, yeah, yeah..." came the sharp retort to Carrie, Noah's attention drawn more towards the behemoth of an entity that actually showed interest in the boy's own offer. Over the shock of the initial greeting, it seemed perfectly normal to be talking to Creature Feature; though granted, Noah was still fairly intimidated by the sheer size of him. "It doesn't hurt. I mean, I don't think it hurts. Not unless we run into something." Momentum finally responded, uncertain really if it inflicted any sort of noticeable discomfort or pain with those he'd shared his abilities with. "I wouldn't worry about that though. Probably won't happen this time." Extending a hand towards Creature Feature, Momentum gave the most confident smile he could muster, eager to get this show on the road. "If you don't wanna, man, you don't have to. Not gonna twist your arm or whatever. If you're serious though, just get ready to run when I say go, or it'll be a short trip. And don't let go. Seriously."
  17. Furling his brow in response at the particularly cutting words from Silhouette, Noah turned to face the femme fatale shapeshifter with a defensive glare. "I... I just panicked, okay?! It happens!" Momentum barked out, voice cracking slightly. "Totally could have used my powers! I just didn't because... uh... I... I was busy being a distraction! Yeah, that's it. A distraction so you could, like, run away! ... and you, uh, didn't..." The boy seems to trail off here, growing increasingly red in the cheeks from his terrible attempt at verbally rationalizing his ineptitude. An awkward moment passes for the hooded hero, looking away from both of the assembled shapeshifters dejectedly as he recomposed himself. "So, like, do you want me to just run around or what? I dunno what this Zoom stuff does beyond make you fast on your feet, so I guess I can handle that or whatever."
  18. "It's just like... uh... moving normally," Momentum tried to explain, fumbling awkwardly with his own words. "Only, y'know, faster. A lot faster, with lots of wind and bugs and stuff though," he continues, cringing slightly at the part about the bugs; they were the entire reason he'd opted to wear those cheap goggles from Halloween plastered on his face. Clearing his throat, Noah blinked for a moment, contemplating how he could more efficiently explain it. And then came the epiphany. "I mean, I could show you and stuff -- like, really show you -- but I can't force you or whatever," Ashley hummed out sheepishly. "That's generally how I get people out of the fray, but they gotta actually move with me and junk."
  19. Getting a bit wide-eyed as the woman mentions the duos ability to shapeshift, Noah couldn't help but feel a little green with envy at the pairs abilities. With each elaboration, the goggled kid simply grew more awed, both bemused and intrigued by the possibilities of what could be accomplished with such feats. "That's. So. Awesome!" But then came his time to describe his abilities; a trick more easily said than performed. "I... uh... well, I can do lots of stuff I guess," Momentum began, unsure how to really describe his various talents. "I can run fast -- duh, you already knew that! -- but I can jump pretty high, too. Oh, and move stuff and punch people from far away! And make people faster, or stop em', or, um, whatever." Emitting a soft sigh, Noah sank his head in self-imposed shame. "Way to sound like a stupid rookie, Noah." Changing the subject, the hooded hero-in-training turned back to the woman. "You said something about drugs though, right? Like, how I can... uh... move fast. I didn't know they, y'know, had stuff that did that no the streets. Is that just what you want me to do; run around and junk?"

  21. Rubbing the back of his head again as the conversation took another peculiar turn, Momentum looked towards the entity known as Creature Feature, his burly physique rather imposing despite his unusually goofy, up-beat persona. He wasn't really expecting to be invited to join. He didn't know anything about sparring, or fighting super-powered people! "Uh... I dunno..." Momentum stammered, lips creasing as if he were pondering whether it was a good idea or not. "I mean, I guess if you really want me to, I could, like, give it a shot..." Throwing a downcast glance at the park's leafy foliage in the darkness, Noah reconsidered the offer, odd though it might be. He was new in town; some friends definitely couldn't hurt. "Yeah. Yeah, okay, I'd be up for that, if you guys are cool with it. Gettin' kinda sleepy though, so can we just get started? What do you, like, want me to do?"
  22. "Smooth." Noah couldn't help but stifle a giggle as the scrawny little girl slapped her over-sized companion upside the head. A faint grin crept its way across the teens face, shaking his head slowly as the sight became increasingly more comical. "But hey, everyone starts somewhere, y'know?" the young man said, stuffing his hands inside his pockets as he fought off the familiar urge to yawn; Not that he was much better off, being just as inexperienced in the whole superhero nonsense as Creature Feature probably was. After all, it wasn't like Noah had complete control over his powers, so he certainly wasn't qualified to judge. "I guess you guys are, like, probably waitin' to get back to the whole training thing, and don't need me getting in the way. Should probably go and junk since it's getting really late and stuff anyway."
  23. "Oh... uh... a while, I guess." the red hooded avenger replied, coughing suspiciously at Creature Feature's warranted inquiry as he attempted to partially side-step the question. "It wasn't always with the hoodie or whatever, but it's simple, so I kinda like it. Not that it's not permanent and stuff; just till' I can get something more awesome." This was a strange situation. Noah hadn't ever met anyone with super-powers in Freedom City since he'd arrived -- at least not those who weren't actively trying to do him bodily harm -- so it was an oddly refreshing sensation to actually talk to someone who sort of shared his world, despite the fact he didn't have much to really say. At least something good came from this fiasco, convoluted though it might be. Turning towards the woman Wolfguy had addressed as Silhouette, Momentum couldn't help but kind of cock his head awkwardly towards the obviously older woman. "So..." he begins, trailing off for a moment mid-inquiry. "... Silhouette, huh?" The question appears to go nowhere, however, as Momentum stands idly by, unsure of what to really say. "Hang out with artists and junk a lot, huh? That must be interesting, I guess."
  24. "I'll... uh... keep that in mind," Momentum murmured back to the suddenly more friendly fellow known as Creature Feature, careful to keep his voice as low as he could out of fear of once more being barraged by more harsh words from the woman present. Blinking again as Carrie made her introduction, Momentum couldn't help but flush red a little in embarrassment. "Help? Me? H-ha! That's... uh... that's a good one. Yeah," Noah hummed back semi-defensively, again attempting to retain some sense of confidence and control, despite potential evidence to the contrary. Rubbing the back of his be-hooded head nervously, Momentum cleared his throat before returning to the conversation proper. "So, like, how long have you been, y'know... the whole wolf-thing...?"
  25. Examining his own attire skeptically, Momentum can't help but feel as though he's heard this a million times already. "I just couldn't make a good costume on my own, 'kay? Jeez. Why does everyone keep asking me that?" the boy retorted, defending his stance regarding his costume as best as he was able, whilst dismissing the bit about his parents. Seizing the opportunity to get some distance between himself and the still-potential threats, Momentum sprung back from the woman berating him and her increasingly sheepish dog-man, reflexively balling a fist as the thing known as Creature Feature extended a clawed mitt in Noah's direction. "Uh... sorry," the hooded hero hummed out halfheartedly, still leery of the large critter basking in the moonlight glow. Warily, he crept forward, extending an unclenched hand in greeting as he shook the furry appendage. "Momentum. I mean, that's my name." "Man, talk about awkward." Turning towards the woman who'd thus far done nothing but harsh his own mellow, the up-and-comer feigned his best smile as he addressed her, inquiring "So, like, who're you and junk?"
