    Image help

Since I didn't have the foresight to do this upfront, can one of the mods like this image Somewhere into Slamdance's sheet? Thanks. -Razorback
  2. You guys keep some late hours. Sandro does a quick look towards the street to see if anyone is walking their dog or just out and about. Assuming he doesn't see anyone, he sneaks to the back of the house in hopes of finding an open window. He's trying to disturb as little of the area as possible and not trying to break any doors or windows in the process.
  3. Sandro, feeling the locked door, checks the windows to see if they are also locked. He takes a glance towards the street, since he does look like typical home intruder. He swings around to the right of the house, hoping they left a window in the dining area. He keeps to the shadows as he walks to the back of the house.
  4. My first game post! I hope I had everything in there correctly. Notice 28, notice 13, stealth 14 (I just fixed this because I accidentally pasted the second notice check the link by accident).
  5. Sandro walked up to the house he hadn't been to in about 4 or 5 years. It looked the same except for the sickly yellow light from the streetlight on the corner. He could hear some traffic from a few blocks away but kept an eye on things because, as what happened to Richie, the city is getting darker and darker. Sandro was walking to class, talking to Trica, when Richie bumped into him. Tricia said by because her class was in the opposite direction but they would have lunch together. 'Hey, man, I haven't seen you in a while... how are you doing?' 'I'm ok, I guess. Sandro, we're still friends, right?' Sandro was a little put off by the question. He'd known Richie since before school. Their parents had put them in the same daycare as kids and they almost always ended up in the same classes. True, they were never best friends but they were always in the same circle of friends, at least until they hit high school. His dad's money had changed that, for better or for worse. 'Of course. Why would you th...' 'Because it took me bumping into you to say hi to me' as a shadowed look crossed his face. 'You should come by sometime. My mom asks about you. She heard from Tom's mom that you were helping out at some homeless shelter or something and figures your dad is punishing you for something. She said she'd write you a note if you need on.' And then he laughed like the old Richie just as the bell rang. 'There's something I ...' 'I will. I have to go, if I'm late to Mr. G's class again it's in-house detention for me.' as he waved goodbye and ran to class. He felt guilty because he forgot about Richie five minutes after talking to him yesterday. And, today, the school was abuzz with what happened to him and his family. And, now, he was standing on the sidewalk of his dead friends house. 'There's something I ...' It rang in his head. The last words he said to Sandro. Something I... have to tell you? Show you? It felt like Richie was reaching out and he just waived him away like the arrogant jerk he'd always been. That he was trying to change from. That's when he thought he saw something move inside the house. 'Probably just my imagination' he thought as he took a quick glance down both side of the street. 'Yeah, and this isn't Freedom City. Probably some thieves stealing from dead people. Again.' Not seeing anyone, he reached into his backpack to pull out his gloves and mask. After slipping them on, he snuck up to the front door and peered in the window next to the door, not seeing anything, while feeling if the door was unlocked.
  6. Southside. Usually near the soup kitchens, homeless shelters, etc.
  7. As I have an playable character now, I'm am still interested in playing. My only question is I'm also hoping to get in on some action over (as you may know)--> here. Would that be an issue? -Razorback
  8. You guys are a couple of pretty dark protectors of the night... I hope you don't give Slam Dance nightmares!
  9. Hmmm... the only way I see for incorporating Slam Dance is since he operates on the other side of the river is: 1)Since Sandro and Richard are the same age, either they ran in the same circles/friends. 2)Possibly Sandro and Richard helped out the same shelters? Other than that it doesn't seem like this would draw his attention. Let me know what you think. -Razorback
  10. I concur in agreeing with the sentiments noticed above existing threads. Or, what they said. -Razorback
  11. I just realized the attack block was for him at PL6, so that was just updated. -Razorback
  12. Changed, added and subtracted a bit to bring him up to PL 10. I'm not really sold on the charisma bump as suggested by Geez3r... I'm trying to make his out look, and ability to influence humans, alien to our sensibilites. I've incorporated just about everything I'd like to see in 'him' but, as always, I wish I had another 20 points or so to tweak him... I guess a little misadventuring is on the way. Questions, suggestions, etc would be appreciated. -Razorback
  13. Thanks. I'm not sure what ASTRO labs does but Eagle Industries has a few different areas of expertise, some military R&D and some commercial. They are currently working on various sensory arrays for whatever NASA-ish agency is present, nanotechnology, and high-energy beam units for radiation oncology. The newest project they have is a human-safe combined active/passive sensor arrays for the TSA and Homeland Security (think the x-ray machine from Total Recall with Arnie, but more advanced). I don't have any of the Freedom City books so I'll have to go out and get them... a little homework for myself. -Razorback
  14. Please archive him. Or, I could overwrite him with a PL 10 version of viewtopic.php?f=27&t=1449 thats been villian-ified. I'm still working out some kinks on it but that's my plan. Thanks -Razorback
  15. Hopefully that looks better. I have no idea how to set up the spacing so it looks ok. Let me know if you have anymore questions. Thanks -Razorback
  16. Thanks for the feedback. Equipment I left out by accident: Digital Audio Recorder Cellphone Laptop Computer PDA Camera I'll fix this in his description. Stealth - I'm picturing him as being something like the kid (at least when he was younger) in the movie 'The Toy' with Richard Pryor and Jackie Gleason, except not malicious like that kid was. He was always sneaking around their house messing with the staff or at his dad's business. In his head he probably pictures himself as having a bonus of 30+... I have no problem lowering it a bit if it seems out of line but this is where I see him as being right now. Absorption - From UP: . Bad link ( ) - This should be the correct one: http://www.endlessflight.net/freedom/vi ... f=4&t=1447 It's not really anything more than explaining my laziness. Thanks -Razorback
  17. I have a PL6 hero up for review in the Character Bank that, once he's been approved, would be interested. He lives in Bayview Heights but spends his adventuring time down in Southside. -Razorback
  18. Players Name: Razorback Power Level: 6 (93/96pp) Trade-Offs: +0 Attack for -0 Damage, -2 Defense for +2 Toughness Unspent PP: 3 Characters Name: Alessandro D’Aquila Alternate Identity: Slamdance Height: 5’7†Weight: 151lbs Hair: Brown, medium length Eyes: Brown Description: Alessandro (or, Sandro as his friends call him) is of an average build for a 16 year old teenager who gets more endurance exercise than strength training. History: Alessandro is the 16 year old son of Antonio D’Aquila, owner of Eagle Industries. Alessandro’s mother died when he was 3, on a flight to Portugal that went down in a thunderstorm. Alessandro’s father, being a workaholic, takes his son with him to work after Alessandro gets out of school. Most of his free time is either spent out riding his skateboard or at Eagle Industries. After doing his homework because his father does make sure that it gets done, he spends either sneaking around the facility and talking to the employees or on the computer playing video games or surfing the web. All of the employees know Alessandro and let him do his thing as long as he not going where he’s not supposed to or around dangerous equipment. Alessandro’s father Antonio was born in Lisbon, Portugal but immigrated with his parents to the United States when he was 2. His parents opened a deli and were able to put Antonio through college with the help of the scholarships he received. Although he did well in the physical sciences he excelled at business, eventually receiving advance degrees in both. After receiving money for a few patents that he sold, he started Eagle Industries and has prospered ever since. Crushed by the death of his wife in an airline accident, he is driven to make his company succeed so his son will never have to worry about money. Although he tends to ignore his son in favor of work, he always makes sure that he his son does his homework and always goes to his son’s school functions. One night Alessandro sneaking around the lab of Dr. Nguyen, Eagle Industries lead scientist, while he was running tests on his Fractal Magnetometer Resonator. Dr. Nguyen ran into a problem with one of the magnetic couplers. What he did not know is during the test the fluctuations caused a pin prick sized ‘window’ into another dimension. This dimension is inhabited by beings composed of pure energy and possessing vast intellect and power. One such being came into contact with the mind of Alessandro and was able perceive, through Alessandro’s eyes, Alessandro’s perceptions of the Earth. During this time Dr. Nguyen was working on the magnetic coupler, which was causing instability in the ‘window’. The other dimensional being, able to perceive that his window was closing and knowing that Alessandro would not survive the imminent explosion this would caused, manipulated Alessandro’s genetic structure so he could allow him to survive the explosion. As the unknown energies coursed through his body Alessandro the ‘window’ exploded outward. Alessandro, due to the help of the extra dimensional being, was able to harness the power of the power of the explosion to protect himself. No one was hurt during the resulting explosion even though part of the lab was destroyed. Alessandro, unaware of what had happened, didn’t tell anyone he was in the lab when the explosion happened. As the weeks progressed, Alessandro started to notice that he wasn’t getting hurt when he normally would and that his reflexes had increased tremendously. He didn’t associate the incident the lab with what was happening to him but instead attributed to his own growth into manhood. One day, while on his way to his father’s business he was on his skateboard crossing through town. Listening to his MP3 player he didn’t hear the car coming to a screeching halt as he was in the cross-walk. The car slammed into him at better than 50mph, sending him flying through the wall of warehouse across the street from the intersection. Surprised, he stood up in the rubble and realized that he wasn’t hurt. As he heard people yelling he panicked, without answers to questions he knew would be asked, he ran away much faster than he thought was possible. He eventually made his way to Liberty Park. Checking himself again he realized that he wasn’t hurt, except for some torn clothing. Being somewhat of a spoiled rich kid, he began spending time after school down in the poor sections of town trashing garbage dumpsters and abandoned cars since, as he thought, ‘didn’t really belong to anyone’. As the months went by he became emboldened by the fact that he had never been caught and bored with destroying dumpsters and the like, Sandro started damaging more ‘real’ objects, including newer cars and damaging buildings. One day, while smashing into some abandoned buildings he accidentally damaged one more than he thought, causing it to collapse. Even though he, again, was unharmed he didn’t think anything of it. Later on that night, while at his fathers business, he saw on the news how there were some homeless people who were in the building when it collapsed and several were in the hospital. For the first time he realized that he had hurt someone because of his childish antics. He went to his father and asked him to pay for the medical expenses but his father said no, that they were not his responsibility. The next day Sandro went to the hospital to see the people he had hurt. He talked to one lady, Beth, and learned that her husband Chris was one of the people seriously hurt and that he was in a coma. He talked with Beth to comfort her and learned that he had been wrong – that Beth and Chris were not homeless ‘bums’ because they were lazy. They had lost their retirement in the failing stock market. And, then they lost their home when Chris first lost his job when he was laid off and then the company Beth worked for closed. Although living on the streets they had too much pride to ask their kids or family for help. With the eye opener that his outlook on the world and people was wrong, Sandro went back to his father to ask him to help Beth and Chris but was again rejected. Knowing it was his responsibility for their condition Sandro took it upon himself to sell all the things he had been given by his father to help Beth and Chris, even taking a job after school flipping burgers to help. Finally moved by his sons selfless acts, Antonio agreed to pay for their medical expenses and took him into his own house while providing them jobs at his business to get them back on their feet. Although Sandro quit his job at the burger joint he helps out after school at a few organizations - a soup kitchen, youth programs and abuse shelters – with the full support of his father. When he is not helping those programs he roams the streets as Slamdance, helping the homeless and less fortunate from the predation of criminals and others who would cause them harm. Personality & Motivation: A fun loving and charming teenager, he quickly becomes serious when he sees someone bullying or taking advantage of someone less fortunate. 19. Hi all, So the character I'm working on has Super-Speed 2 with the Strike bonus PF. I'm wondering how, and if, the Strike aspect would stack a slam attack. Assuming he had enough movement to use 1 move (250ft) would it be damage: 2 (slam) + 2 (movement power) + 2 (strike PF) = 6 or 2 (slam) + 2 (movement power or Strike, since the net effect is the same @ 250ft) = 4? Thanks -Razorback
  20. Sorry, thought I hit italics and was trying to show an -edit- but that's what I get for trying to eat lunch at work while also surfing. :monkey: I'm definitely not that skilled. -Razorback
  21. That's what I was looking for. I have some tweaking that I have to do with a PL 10 version of the idea I had in Character building. Eventually (gold?) I'd like to revisit the Pinnacle idea but I think I'm going to tweak the Eddy and Alessandro characters to come up with a PL 6 hero instead. Thanks -Razorback
  22. I agree that they are the same except in one important area for me --> It was the difference between writing up one or two powers and lazyiness won out. -Razorback Not to be flighty here on Endless Flight, but I would like to submit another character for PL 10. Villain instead of Hero to help the other team a bit. How should I go about doing this? -Razorback
  23. Thanks. 1) This is a legacy from where I originally built him and trimmed him down. I will remove those. 2) The gestalt didn't exist before the accident happened. He himself is quite a bit luckier than it might seem. But, 2 ranks is another legacy, it should be 1 which, along with is base hero point, allows him to use both of his UE feats. 3) I see your point. I was trying to show that he does not have any really great skills, whether combat or turning on a computer, but I was trying to show that his blast was a blast of cosmic energy that emanated from his eyes... not quite like ranged perception but close. I can rearrange this to better show what your saying but it wasn't what I was really going for. 5) This is Protection with the +3/rank Absorption Extra and +1/rank Impervious Extra, not Absorption on page 124 of UP or an Absorption AP off of Protection. 4) This should have shown Boost: Cosmic Energy Control. 6) Because he doesn't have access to the components memories or skills. Eventually this will be bought off but he only has 3 years worth of life experiences and he hasn't had the time (pp) to learn it. That being said, please hold off spending any time reviewing the character for now. After reading somewhere that the board is light on villains I'm throwing around a couple of ideas of my own villains I made but haven't been able to fit into my adventures but wanted to run. I could change Pinnacle to be a villain but the Alessandro character and I don't want to drop him in favor of a more villainous replacement. Thanks again. -Razorback
  24. Thanks. The Con suggestion is a much better option than what I did. Didn't even occur to me to set it up that way. The Charisma is built that way on purpose. As 'he' starts to interact with humans I plan on putting points into it. His only interactions up to this point (well, at least a few months) have been dealing with the hive mentallity of his ant-peoplez. The skills have been fixed. I didn't incorporate the IF for a negative number to round up in the spreadsheet I built. I'm also going to toy around with the drawbacks. I originally had the DB for the protection but dropped it since most of the time he is either underground or otherwise hidden. I double checked the math and came up with 82... Double check the math, because I'm coming up with 83 points in powers: 6(SS)+4(AL)+12(acid)+8(EC)+1(COM)+1(COM)+26(ET)+9(Pro)+4(IL)+2(SM)+3+1(Speed)+2+4(MO)=83 I'm assuming the two highlighted are for Immunity but I only have 4 ranks, not 5. And I've changed the base. Thanks again. -Razorback
  25. So, I need a little help from you all. A little back ground. The character in question was a regular ant who was infected by nanites. The nanites, amongst other things over time, caused him to evolve super-intelligence, mental powers, cause his base growth to grow to medium size, etc. I've incorporated all the major points I want... he uses his Move Object in place of hands to create things... uses his powers to control other ants to figure out the world around him. Equipment is going to be an underground base that I haven't quite put together. First bit a help - Does anyone see any glaring problems? Second - Any fat that might be trimmable? I've highlighted the changes in red. Plus I added his base of operations below. As you can see, he is going to be a villian. I wish I had more points for strength/super-strength and what not...
