Players Name: Razorback Power Level: 10 Trade-Offs: 0 Attack for 0 Damage, -2 Defense for +2 Toughness] Unspent PP: 0 Characters Name: Pinnacle Alternate Identity: N/A Height: 6’6†Weight: 250lbs Hair: None Eyes: Grey-ish Description: Pinnacle is a tall figure with an almost translucent skin color. He facial features are nondescript, almost if drawn by talented but young child trying to draw an adult. He is of average build, neither slender nor stout. If not for the lack of height, hair, grey eyes and translucent skin ones eyes would not be able to pick him out of a crowd. Personality & Motivation: Quite and reserved, almost always with his head tilted, observing, while he interacts or watches others interact with each other. Pinnacle was born when The Event happened: The Event During Dr. Nguyen test runs of the Fractal Magnetometer Resonator he ran into a problem with one of the magnetic couplers. What he did not know is during the test the fluctuations caused a pin prick sized ‘window’ into another dimension. This dimension is inhabited by beings composed of pure energy and possessing vast intellect and power. Once such being came into contact with the mind of Alessandro and was able perceive, through Alessandro’s eyes, Alessandro’s perceptions of the Earth. During this time Dr. Nguyen was working on the magnetic coupler, which was causing instability in the ‘window’. The other dimensional being, able to perceive that his window was closing and knowing that Alessandro would not survive the imminent explosion this would caused, manipulated Alessandro’s genetic structure so he could allow him to survive the explosion. As the unknown energies coursed through his body Alessandro was able to feel the window becoming unstable. He was also aware of the others – Dr. Nguyen, the janitor, the security director and his father in the building. In the moment the window exploded outward, he reached out with his power to save those people but, without the proper control, he inadvertently combined all five people into one being that, later, he dubbed Pinnacle. Afterwards, Dr. Nguyen guessed that their powers had come from the explosion, rather than the other dimensional being. And, Alessandro, showing uncommon insight for his age, suppressed the knowledge of what happened, realizing that he was not ready to wield such power. What no one really knows is that Alessandro absorbed the four others into himself, in effect becoming Pinnacle. Everything that was the other four became part of him. The five distinct personalities are, for all intensive purposes, fragments of Pinnacles psyche. Although he can’t actively use the others abilities, nor opinions, he has strong sense of right and wrong that Alessandro possesses. Unfortunately he doesn’t always have the experiences or talents to always accomplish his tasks with a positive outcome. On matters of religion or politics he has not developed a viewpoint. On most subjects he has not developed an opinion. The day will come when Alessandro will realize what happened and fully become the being known as Pinnacle. The when and how are the only uncertainties. Personality & Motivation: With a dominating personality and forceful personality Antonio, or Tony to his friends, is usually the life of the party and the center of attention. Able to negotiate any deal or heal any rift between friends, his honesty and sincerity speak volumes in relationship to his success in business. Antonio was born in Lisbon, Portugal but immigrated with his parents to the United States when he was 2. His parents opened a deli and were able to put Antonio through college with the help of the scholarships he received. Although he did well in the physical sciences he excelled at business, eventually receiving advance degrees in both. After receiving money for a few patents that he sold, he started Eagle Industries and has prospered ever since. Crushed by the death of his wife in an airline accident, he is driven to make his company succeed so his son will never have to worry about money. Although he tends to ignore his son in favor of work, he always makes sure that he his son does his homework and always goes to his son’s school functions. He was working procuring artificial diamonds for the Fractal Magnetometer Resonator when ‘The Event’ happened. Personality & Motivation: Chuck was born in Vietnam and fled to the United States with his mother and sister in 1966 when he was only 5 years old. Although he was bullied by other kids due to his Vietnamese heritage throughout his school years, even into college, he didn’t hold a grudge against any one kid. Chuck excelled at science and math, eventually joining the NASA Galileo program in 1987. He eventually became head of Photopolarimeter-Radiometer Array, which he considers to be the highpoint of his career. After the termination in late 2003 of the program, he left NASA to head up Fractal Magnetometer Resonator for Eagle Industries. He was working on power fluctuations in the magnetic coupler when ‘The Event’ happened. He tends to melt into the background during social events, when he does attend, observing others around him. Personality & Motivation: James – James was the only child of August ‘Auggie’ and Debbie Sinclair. Auggie was a Captain in the FCPD. Wanting to follow in his fathers footsteps but not wanting to rely on his name to get a job, he first joined the Marine Corp where he met his future contact Eddy Jones. After doing his duty in the Corp he applied and was accepted as part of the Seattle Police Department. His father died a few months later, which made James rethink his decision. He applied, and was accepted, by the FCPD. He chose to do this so he could be closer to his mother. During his probation with FCPD, he stumbled upon his partner was on the take to drug dealers. He turned him into Internal Affairs but didn’t know the IA officer was also on the take. They eventually set him up in the killing of the drug dealer, thereby eliminating that witness. This eventually led to trial, which he lost. He ended up doing 2 of his 5 years, getting off for good behavior. He made a vow to bring the cops who framed him to justice, but has not been able to so far. He was able to get a job at Eagle Industries as a janitor through his former Sergeant, Eddy Jones, who knew James and didn’t believe the charges against him. He was emptying trash bins when ‘The Event’ happened. Dedicated, driven and focused his intensity can sometimes put people off, especially when they first meet him. When he can be distracted from his goals his cheerful personality sometimes shines through, especially when he plays around the building with Sandro. Complications: (False) criminal record that drives him to bring to justice those who put him in jail. Alessandro’s mother died when he was 3, on a flight to Portugal that went down in a thunderstorm. Alessandro’s father, being a workaholic, takes his son with him to work after Alessandro gets out of school. Most of his free time is spent at Eagle Industries. After doing his homework because his father does make sure that it gets done, he spends either sneaking around the facility or on the computer playing video games or surfing the web. All of the employees know Alessandro and let him do his thing as long as he not going where he’s not supposed to or around dangerous equipment. He was stalking James the janitor when ‘The Event’ happened. Alessandro has a strong sense of wrong and right, and always does the right thing.   2. If you guys don't mind a few extra question threads. The effect would be near the same but not carry what I'm trying to show with him being a kid, because he is actually fairly charming, I'm just trying to accurately show how he has to try and be a hero but only 12 so he gets the additional :roll: from adults because of his age, not his experiences. If it's inappropriate/unbalancing I have no problem not using it. Just was looking for a little flavor that I can roll play rather than hardwire into the character. -Razorback
  3. I'm sure I'm going to have more, so I'm starting a new one after taking Heridfel's advice on the communication link. One of the components to my Gestalt character is a 12 year old boy. I'm giving him the same drawback as the kid in the back of the MnM book, Disability (–1 Toughness, uncommon, minor). I was also thinking of giving him a second draw back to interaction skills (-2 to interaction skills with adults and they take twice as long as normal). I'm calling it a 2 point drawback - 1 step of the Action drawback coupled with a common/minor level. Basically, its getting adults to listen and believe what he's saying. Most adult tend to tune out a 12 year old kid, especially when they are going a mile a minute about the pending alien invasion - even if aliens weren't uncommon. Thoughts on this?
  4. I can't believe I missed this thread while wandering around in here. San Francisco Bay Area, late 30's. I've been playing since 1st Edition D&D, Gamma World, original MU. Really got into the ICE/Rolemaster systems for a long time, at least until 3rd(and then 3.5) edition came out. Started MnM 1st ed a while back, transitioned into 2nd about a year ago. I've also decided that I will be nice and run a game to relieve our GM who has soley run MnM for us. Saw a thread over at ATT and lurked for a short time before joining. Mostly trying to decide which character idea most fits with whats going on over here. I look forward to adventuring (and, sometimes, misadventuring) with all you soon. -Razorback

  6. I have two questions about communication. The idea I have right now is a gestalt character who's 5 components have Communication. First question has to do with the limited flaw: I'm thinking the -2 flaw, limited to the 5 getalt components, seems ok but want to make sure it is with the ref's. Second, I'm imagining that this takes some effort to use. I'm torn between Action (-1) from to a move action or Distracting as making more sense. I'm leaning towards Distracting but would like your input on this. Thanks again. -Razorback
  7. Thanks for the input. I've rethought the character because I'm not so sure he would fit in with the flavor of the rest of the gaming. I may use him as 'helper' for a game I'm running for my 3-player game. -Razorback
  8. My first post and first questions here. First question - I see my character as a government agent. Recruited while still young, who was shown to have the proper mindset and a low-powered power to help out in lots of areas (Boost 3) to do various jobs during the Cold War, AKA Government Advisor. Later, identified to have the correct genetic markers to be altered in a program to create super-powered agents to help with internal super-power issues. My question is - What agencies are acceptable? And who would he be answerable to? My next question regards Gadgets in UP. What I'm envisioning for my character is someone who has the power to 'conjure up' normal equipment. I'm picturing Gadgets with Limited - Normal Equipment (equipment you could purchase in the Equipment section the the MnM book). Make the hard to lose, since some of the equipment will be hard to lose. Is this a valid use of the power? If not, the other option would be something similar to what Violet had in Ultraviolet. Dimensional Pocket, subtle PF, 2 ranks of the progression PF, extra action (free) and the Range flaw (personal). From there a few ranks in Equipment feat in order to buy equipment.
