  1. I'm looking at _you_, aspiring villians! Fawcett and Batson Architecture is a fairly big company, with offices as far apart as Memphis, TN and Freedom City. It's a great place to take hostages, stage some terrorist activities, break in and steal some blueprints, or whatever else your wicked minds can come up with. "But wait," you say, "won't that just make Captain Wonder come punch me in the head?" Well, perhaps, perhaps, but not necessarily. Fred Fawcett respects his secret identity. You'll have to work really, really hard to get him to speak his magic word in front of people, and all it takes is a gag to be doubly safe. For that matter, though Cap is a pretty powerful character, a team of PL 6-7 characters could take him, not to mention PL 10s and above. If nothing else, I paid for this Normal Identity drawback, it's high time I paid for it. Lemme know what you think!

    Character Edits

I'd like to buy up my Reflex save from +6 to +8. Cap's been making a lot of Reflex saves lately, he must be doing something right. Updated by Barnum

    Distant Thunder

Wonder wipes his bleeding lip, coming in for a landing at the feet of the fallen god. He checks Donar carefully, making sure he's not shamming his unconsciousness, before going back to check on the civilians. He's still curious about this mystery, but there are other people to worry about now. He sticks his head in the door he came from, calling up "Everything okay in here?"
  4. Nyrath? Captain Wonder's not going anywhere unless he knows you're coming with. Or not. ;)

    The Hunt (OOC)

Okay, I believe that's a Toughness Save DC of 30 for Stygwr. Don't forget that you're minus -2 for bruised.

    The Hunt

Wonder repeats his earlier manuever, flying down fast and hard to drive his fist into the demon's face. "And stay down!"
  7. Don't forget to visit the Amp Room! (Wait, wrong universe...)

    Distant Thunder

The force of the punch sends Captain Wonder staggering back, blood running from his own split lip.Wonder thinks fast. If he can't get Donar into the air, then perhaps he can take advantage of the sky! With a flash of color, Wonder rockets up into the air, powering downward again like a piledriver to blow into the god's face. "C'mon," he taunts from up in the air outside of the reach of those powerful fists, trying to keep Donar's attention on him rather than on the civilian around, "summon your chariot and fly to meet me in battle? Or is the sky beyond your reach?"
  9. "Agreed." Wonder reaches out to take the unconscious Roman from Emissary, the big gladiator easily held up by the World's Mightiest Man. He looks around at the others, a questioning look on his face. When he speaks, it's with a tone of voice straight out of legend. Or, perhaps, an old comic book. "This man's problems are beyond my help. But I know of those who can bridge the rivers of time and space." He hesitates a moment, looking at the others, and his voice drops back to normal. "Will you all join me there, as did my friends sixty years ago?"

    Distant Thunder

Despite the awesome power of the god of thunder, Wonder manages to pull his head back at the last moment, narrowly avoiding a bone-shattering blow from Donar. Despite his earlier show of power, Fred's no fool. Even with Donar's hammer out of the way and the god himself injured, this is going to be a tough fight. They have to get away from the civilians! He draws back and throws a mighty punch, his own enthusiasm for the battle leaving him wide-open as it strikes the air.

    The Hunt

Wonder rockets up high, well out of the reach of the ensnaring grasp of the earth. "Better fiends than you have tried, demon!" This is a formidable enemy, and he's going to need every trick in the book to beat him. With a flash of white and gold, he descends again to the battlefield, landing a powerful blow on the demon's midsection, before rocketing up again out of reach.

    The Hunt (OOC)

Okay, cool! Sorry for the delay, moving is a pain! And made it! Looks like that's a DC 27 toughness save
  13. Captain Wonder's reflexes are not what they should have been; by the time he realizes the danger of the situation, the others already have it in hand. That's momentarily irritating, but a hero surely wouldn't let ego stand in his way in a crisis. (Well, maybe a little...) He flies over to help Emissary as soon as the situation allows for it, providing a quick translation for the captured Roman. "Stop struggling. Now." To the Emissary, he adds, "If you can subdue him, I can send him where he belongs."

    Distant Thunder

There is a crash as Donar's mighty blow connects with Captain Wonder's rugged jaw, a blow powerful enough to cleave through steel that echoes through the streets of the once-quiet neighborhood. The mighty punch leaves Captain Wonder standing absolutely unscathed, grinning angrily at Donar. Fred's no dummy, but mysteries aren't his area of expertise. He doesn't know who this is. But he does know what you do with Nazis. "Not today, Ratzi!" The words come back as easily as if he's been speaking them his whole life as Wonder draws back his fist and hurls a powerful punch of his own at Donar, aiming to punch him straight up into the air.
  15. That makes this the perfect time to spend the hero point (from my enemy complication) on my Ultimate Toughness save, I think. ;)
  16. "And, now," says Wonder firmly, going into action in a blur of speed. His fists flash as he strikes at robot after robot, indeed leaving at least one for Dr. Archeville.

Isn't there also an attack roll for Snare? (We're moving v. shortly and my books are packed up, sorry. =p)

    The Hunt (OOC)

Sure, given his background, identifying the champion of the Egyptian pantheon should be no problem.

    Distant Thunder

Despite Wonder's best efforts, he just can't hold on to the former Ubersoldaten. He thinks fast, gambling on a way to keep himself between Donar and the innocent people in the neighborhood. "You always were a slippery so-and-so, Wotanson!" "Maybe that's why you couldn't hold onto your hammer. Or onto your Valkyrie." Taunting isn't really his thing, not these days, but there are few people he hates worse than Nazis. He sneers at him. "That's why you never could beat me." That, as it happens, is a lie; one of Captain Wonder's earliest wartime exploits ended with him beaten down by that $(%( Mjolnoir. But that particular adventure didn't make it into the pages of Captain Wonder, nor was it released to the general public thanks to the involvement of super-secret-agent Kilroy. If this is the real Donar, he'll know the difference, but if he isn't...
  22. Hey, boss, what should I roll for my grapple check? (My books are away; I forget how to calculate that.)

    The Hunt

Wonder blinks, surprised at the success of his attack? Could he have been fooled about the monster's prowess? Or is it shamming now? He lands feet-first on the asphalt near the demon, striding up to it powerfully. "Surrender now," he says evenly, "and I'll help you return to your home plane peacefully. Otherwise, I'm going to beat you there."
