  1. Megan was not too surprised to hear the worry in Cory’s voice as her mined raced though several possible excuses in a split second. “I’m fine, I sort of tripped trying to get away from that thing and Freedom Eagle scooped me up and got me to somewhere safe. I saw the whole fight between that thing and a bunch of superheroes. So now I need to give a statement to the police.â€Â

“Why don’t you just head home and get ready for Brady’s party, I’ll catch up when I can.â€Â

  4. Velocity gave a wave to the people that were starting to come back into view and the looked up as the mummy robot vanished. Hearing the others mention heading to Freedom Hall she called up. “Okay, see you all there."

With that she was off in a blur of motion and a *crack* as she broke the sound barrier. Skidding to a stop in front of Freedom Hall a few seconds later, she flipped out her cellphone and dialed Cory's number. She needed to give him some excuses to give her a bit more time to look into what was going on.

  5. "Thank you for your help! I ask please that you continue to tend to the injured until the depressing lagtime your emergency response professionals seem to have for disadvantaged areas elapses, I must make sure the one responsible for this is firmly within custody."

Amazon was still directing the jet of water from the fire hydrant at the fires as she glanced over at Emissary after his little speech. “Well duh, I think that’s what I’m doing.†She muttered to herself as she continued to try to put out the spots of fire.

  8. "Likewise. Your father has praised you quite a bit, you know. You're a senior in the Academy, aren't you? What are you studying?

“Yes, North Bay Academy.†Megan replied with a smile. “We pretty much have a lot of required classes, but I am taking some electives on economics and civics. I am also Captain of the cheerleading squad, and on the debate team and some other clubs.â€Â

  11. Velocity watched as the guys started trying to lift the mummy/robot into the air as it had started glowing once more. Not really being able to help in the lifting endeavor, she began to look around to make sure no civilians were nearby, and that there might not be some sign of whomever might be behind this thing.

  12. I was just making a comment. For one thing it's important to know when things called out in the Freedom City setting book are being changed, and this would be one of them.

What exactly is being changed? The book says supers are not invited to join the club. That does not mean that they might not be invited to a party as a guest.

It also assumes that the club knows someone is a super. I see little reason for anyone with a secret identity to not be a member.

  15. He nodded a cordial greeting to Megan King, making a mental note of exactly what the daughter of Hieronymous King actually looked like,

Cong, it's Lucy King. Megan is my character (Megan Howell). And Lucy King is Hieronymous' granddaughter, not daughter :)

  18. Besides, when I asked Markk if he would have Emissary show up in the thread, there were not very many PCs who had reason to be invited (or members). A "party" with only a few people isn't much fun. I have been hoping more Refs would fill it with some more NPCs *cough* EF! *cough*, but not too much luck so far.

  21. He's attending as a guest, the tradition is to not have know superheroes as members.

It is a club for the "movers and shakers", and Emissary's position as an ambassador does make him someone that is likely to end up on the guest list from time to time.
