My dad is just making the rounds. We’ll probably be out of here soon.â€Â

“Not sure exactly.†Megan replied. “However long my parents plan at socializing. Could be several hours, for my dad tends to get into business talk quite easily.â€Â

After leaving Freedom Hall, Velocity had sped across the river (literally across the river) and over to the Northern part of Freedom City and into the very well-to-do area of North Bay. Once there she zipped into the backyard of the massive home her parents owned, and came back down to a more normal speed.

With her parents out at some party or another tonight, she had the place all to her self as she got ready for Cory to pick her up for the Halloween Party being hosted by one of their classmates. She was in no rush right now as she would need to let a bit of time pass before she called Cory, after all, he likely was not even out of downtown yet.

Letting herself into the house, Megan made her way upstairs to her room before taking off her Velocity costume and beginning to get out her Halloween costume. After waiting about fifteen minutes, she picked up her cellphone and gave Cory a call.

I would have just prefered waiting to meet when Megan was in costume, for meeting like this doesn't really do much for things. Plus we have to wait not for the bad guys to get moving, or Megan will be getting in a cab and leaving soon.

Megan looked over at Randy with a slightly annoyed look as his theatrics. She was not quite sure to make of the underlying tone she detected, but was not about to ask him about it now.

She turned back towards the heroine. “Him? The only problem he is causing is melodrama. He was just walking me down while I got a taxi. Thanks. Nothing going on here.†She said, somewhat dismissively.

Randy raised himself on one arm too, so that he as closer to Megan and also face to face. He leaned in and kissed her gently. "Better get going," he said with a twinkle in his eye. "I'll walk you out."

Megan returned Randy’s kiss with a gently one of her own. “Yeah.†She said, slightly unconvinced. She then got up and made her way outside with Randy.

"Hello. Citizens. Er, how's your night? Anything amiss?"

They had not gotten far when an armored woman came down from the sky, landing in front of them. Megan did not recognize her, and tensed slightly at first, but as the woman spoke, it became clear she was not attack. “Umm, fine. No, nothing going wrong.†She replied.

With that, she is off, heading towards home so she can get ready and call Cory so she could at least spend a bit of time with him at the Halloween party.
