  1. Polarity >Some Things Should Never Be Found
  2. Made a few changes and need to make a few more. Saw a spot where I messed up.
  3. TT: Thanks. I didn't know that. I was just thinking thematically and how wolves tend to take down prey.... by dragging them to the ground.... That would let me put a few more ranks into animal control, though I am not sure how often something like that would be useful.
  4. Juno smiles, excited at the idea of being able to take at least a small something back with her. She follows after Lord Zander and her group as they made their way into the jungle. The trees were tall and intimidating, hundreds and hundreds of years old. Thick vines big enough to probably climb hung from many branches, making natural curtains in their path. Soon enough their path led them from the ground to the wooden walkway above. It felt rickety at first, like it might not hold their weight though it never gave. It made traversing the uneven terrain much easier, and gave them a vantage point for all of the marvelous colors of the jungle. The flowers smelled amazing, like the best perfume she could ever hope to find. Maybe she’d be able to take one or two back with her? She’d make a mental note to ask their host later. Part of her was tempted to teleport, bypass a few of the older looking rope bridges, but deciding that the journey was half the adventure, she stuck it out. If worse came to worse, she could teleport to safety. Besides, the thrill of it was rather fun. Juno nearly ran into the person in front of her when the group stopped, blinking in surprise and then turning her gaze toward where Lord Zander’s gaze fell. “Oh. Wow.†“Hah. That does look like a pompadour doesn’t it. Holy…. Is it suicidal that I wanna pet a dinosaur? Because I really wanna pet a dinosaur before we leave….. Or maybe take one home.†She laughs at the thought, knowing that there was no way Lord Zander would probably let them take anything living back with them. “Wait, I take that back. Are we going to see any Sabertooth cats? If I wanna pet anything it’s one of those.†She crouches down near the edge of the path, making sure that the people behind her can still see.
  5. This trip was already doing a number on her anxiety. Weird warps in reality, a man out of the past and Dinosaurs… Living, breathing Dinosaurs… It was almost too much for her. Then Zander had to go and make things serious, his warning chilling her right to the bone. It makes Juno shiver, eyes darting between the people around her as they all make their promises. It makes her a little uneasy to be honest. She had no intention of stealing anything on their trip, but knowing there could be dire consequences if something is taken even by accident makes her nerves flare up again. She pulls a deep breath into her lungs, nodding and stepping closer to lord Zander. She does as Giang did, placing her hand on the offered staff. “I promise to do as you asked. Nothing from outside the jungle. “
  6. Make a few tweaks under her power description and added in Morph. I really liked that idea.
  7. Why is that? Isn't morph a disguise type power?
  8. Juno just blinks, attention turning to Lord Zander and staying there almost out of shock. "Wait, there are more than one kind of raptor?" She blinks, feeling her heart race. "That is both terrifying and awesome." She looks back out at the jungle, feeling a strange tingle settle over her skin. It could be excitement, it could be fear. It's probably both. Her head spins back around and looks at Zander. "Giang did that? Wow." She turns and looks at the their unofficial leader. It's easy to see how nervous she suddenly is. "Do you think our trip will be that exciting this year?" She isn't sure she's prepared to fend off hungry dinosaurs or Serpent People and part of her wonders what she is doing here. She can't turn back now though and just has to trust that she's ready for this. She wants to prove herself. Needs to. This could be her chance.
  9. Alrighty. I took out the array within the array. Had to cut back on leaping but she still at least has one rank of it XD
  10. Okay. A lot to reply to here. 1. I was figuring that her powers and costume did go hand and hand yes. The way I see it in my head, she's almost completely covered in fur so her tattoos aren't visible and the transformation changes her head into a wolf's. There is really no way to recognize charlie within her werewolf form. I realize that it is a part of her powers but it would effectively hide her identity so I figured it should be ok. 2. The reason I did the array was at the recommendation of another ref. I can't remember who it was now, but I put her up in Character Building and they talked to me about it in chat. Gave me a few ideas for streamlining things a bit. I honestly can't remember who it was though. I know Gizmo and TT were both giving me pointers while working on the character so it could have been either one. Also, with the way Alternate Form works I don't think I can take any powers out of the array and still have it function properly. I have X number of PP per form depending on how many ranks are in it. Plus in my head it seems easier to just look at each form separately. OK Hybrid has this list, and Wolf has this list.
  11. Player Name: GooseInduced Character Name: Skaere (pronounced ski-air or scare) Power Level: 7 [8] (105/117PP) Trade-Offs: None Unspent Power Points: 12 Progress To Bronze Status: 12/30 In Brief: Female ex-junkie tattoo artist Werewolf with a mohawk. Alternate Identity: Charlotte ‘Charlie’ Angela Teague Identity: Secret Birthplace: Small town USA Occupation: Tattoo Artist Affiliations: Sidewinder Tattoos – Tattoo Parlor Family: Has a mom and two sisters somewhere. She ran away at 16 and hasn’t looked back. Description: Age: 24 June 5th 1989 Gender: Female Ethnicity: Caucasian but has a vague accent she can’t quiet suppress. (Danish) Height: 5â€11 Weight: 165 Eyes: Hazel Hair: Blonde Charlie could be a model if she tried. She has narrow features, high cheekbones, full lips and wide piercing eyes set in a heart shaped face. She’s tall but is a little too addicted to ice cream to lose the curves that she’d need to drop for the runway. Her preference for make-up is usually more natural on her cheeks and bold and dark around her eyes. It’s in stark contrast to her hair which is naturally blonde. It’s kept short and is a three inch wide stripe of blonde hair that runs from her forehead to the back of her neck. The sides are completely shaved and combined with the barbell in her eyebrow, the stud through her tongue and the hoop on her lip, she’s not the type of girl to work your average nine to five. Roughly more than twenty percent of her is covered in tattoos. A half sleeve on her left arm, some on her chest and more on her legs. Among these are a bat, a zombie, a wolf, a bloody flower, stars, a skull with a mohawk, a cute penguin and a tattoo gun. Tank tops, ripped jeans and combat boots are probably the most worn items in her wardrobe regardless of weather. Well, aside from this frayed sleeveless hoodie number that she thinks she looks pretty awesome in with the hood up. Actually, she’s fond of things with hoods, including the one jacket she will wear in the winter: A leather jacket lined with a built in hoodie. She likes to wear dark and neutral colors to contrast the bright ink on her skin and most of the time her wardrobe is a little subdued. The closest thing she has to a costume is what she wears under her clothes. A matching pair of shorts and what looks like a skin tight tank top. Both are made of a stretchy black material that can stretch to almost twice its normal size. Actually, upon closer inspection both are made of morphic molecules, an item she managed to acquire with use of the good old internet. Her increased bulk when she transforms tends to rip through her normal clothing, leaving her with little to nothing covering her. This isn't a problem in her transformed state, fur covering all the bits that may raise eyebrows. The problem arises when she needs to change back. The morphic molecules react to her body's chemistry and whatever force causes her to change, adapting and merging with her body. This allows her to change back on the fly if needed without ending up naked on the street. Power Descriptions: Charlie’s powers aren’t flashy, at least, not in the sense of it being in the form of energy or shiny lights. Though when angered her eyes can glow and during her transformation they tend to glow a bright and vivid shade of green and maintain a similarly vivid color as long as she is in her alternate form. Transforming usually only takes a few moments and is normally painless. It starts first with the glowing of her eyes, the elongation of her teeth and nails. Then her limbs and bones shift, face elongating, muscles growing, a fine layer of blonde fur sprouts over her skin, longer on her head shoulders back and chest. She sprouts a tail, claws, and soon her transformation is done. In her hybrid form she stands only a few inches taller than normal, her limbs having elongated in the transformation. The shape of her head is very wolf like, big pointed ears atop a very lupine face with a snout full of sharp teeth. Between her ears and running down the back of her head is a longer mane like strip of hair that mimics her mohawk. Her chest and shoulders are covered in fluffier longer fur that trails down her spine. Her larger hands are tipped with sharp claws and her physique is much more muscular and dense. Her legs are shaped much more like a wolf than a human, her back feet having turned into paws and now moving on tip toe like a wolf. Her wolf form is exactly that. Only like her hybrid form, her relative size doesn’t change, meaning that while the form is nearly identical to your average wolf, it is much larger. The only thing that would give it away are those bright green eyes and their tendency to glow. In both forms her coloring is blonde and white. It starts darker on her back and head and going to white on her stomach and near her hands/feet/paws. History: She was born Charlotte Angela Teague in the bathroom of a cheap motel in some Podunk town in Ohio. Charlie’s mother was here on a student visa from Denmark., going to school at Ohio State. Halfway through her sophomore year she fell in with some bad people, started getting in trouble. Failing her classes and slacking off. Her visa got revoked, but she refused to leave and within a year she was pregnant. Charlotte didn’t start school until the she was eight years old because her mother didn’t want her to go. Being illegal in this country, her mother couldn’t get a real job. She had to resort to whatever income she could. She often relied on boyfriends and lovers to pay for the rent and for food. These relationships never ended well, often requiring the cops to be called and the men, or even sometimes her mother being hauled off to jail. She couldn’t take it, felt like she was suffocating. So finally, when she was sixteen, Charlie dropped out of school and ran away. She never looked back. Part of her wanted to find her real father, but she was too young to remember him. She only has a name, and the knowledge that he’s the one who named her Charlotte. Maybe that’s why she hates the name so much, why she refuses to use it and goes by ‘Charlie’ instead. Casting aside the name Charlotte, Charlie set out for heart of Freedom City. A place she was told was safe, guarded and patrolled by heroes, people with extraordinary powers. A place she thought would be better. There was no hero there the day she was mugged, ending up penniless and broke. She was forced to the street, picking up the bad habits that anyone in her situation would be hard pressed to avoid. It was only by luck that Charlie got out of it, caught tagging a building with graffiti not by a cop but by the owner of a local tattoo shop, Jack. She doesn’t know why he took a chance on her, not at first. Didn’t know why he gave her a job sweeping floors and a cot in the garage to keep her off the street. Eventually she found out that he’d been there, on the street, barely remembering who he was let alone where he was going to sleep that night. It’s a scary place to be and Jack saw a chance to help the same way someone else had helped him. It would take a few years before Charlie would move beyond just a sketchbook and answering phones at the shop. In time her skills improved, her art got better, and eventually she started to tattoo. She made her rooky mistakes, but let them improve her skills, getting better and better until she could pull her weight around the shop. Some of her old habits never left, expensive ones, but for the most part she kept herself together. She became known for doing tattoos that were both morbid and cute: brightly colored and with splashes of blood or gore. Things were good until her partying started to get out of control. Too many nights spent doing things she would regret in the morning. It was nearly a year ago that she had a very rude awakening. Charlie flew to Luisiana with a few friends. Four days of Mardi Gras and all the partying she could handle. People lined the streets with drinks in hands. Beads and dancing and colorful masks were everywhere. Then the night dissolves into nothingness. She woke up alone and naked, huddled at the end of an alley with no memory of the previous night. The last thing she remembered was being in a crowd of people. Everyone was partying and dancing. So was she, with a man. Tall and broad shouldered, he was shirtless and built like he stepped out of a magazine. She couldn’t remember his face. Only the mask he wore. Pointed ears, a long snout, grey fur. It was a wolf. The image unsettled her and Charlie did what she could to push it out of her mind. She had bigger things to worry about, like where her clothes went and how she was going to get back to the hotel. Thankfully she was able to explain her situation to a police officer and not get arrested. The officer agreed not to arrest her only if she went to the hospital to make sure everything she was alright. She agreed. Arriving at the hospital and explaining the situation. Everything checked out fine and finally Charlie called her very worried friends. No one knew where she had gone. Only remembering her dancing with the mystery man and then…. They both had slipped out of the crowd and disappeared. That missing night stayed with her, a constant nagging sensation on the edge of her memory. Like she needed to remember, there was something important hiding there. Something that she couldn’t avoid yet always just out of reach. After coming back from Louisiana she settled into her normal life. Tattooing at the shop during the day and partying at night. Only it wasn’t the same. She found herself less…. interested. Sure she wanted to drink and party and have a good time, but something was different. Many of the things that normally kept the party going were unappealing to her, turning her stomach just from looking at them. Like she could feel the damage she’d done to herself over the years all at once. Part of her wondered if she’d grown past her partying days. Maybe that morning in the alley was enough of a shock to her senses to finally stop her self-destructive behaviors. Except what were those nights that led to her waking up on her balcony? Naked, passed out like she’d spent the night partying only feeling better and more refreshed than she ever remembers feeling. It wasn’t all the time, once every few weeks or so. She went on like that, unable to remember what happened in New Orleans but needing to keep moving forward. It was hard to ignore, like a shadow looming but she did her best, even getting a little bit of accidental promotion for herself and the shop. Her friend TJ is the drummer in a rock band and Charlie makes a point to go to every show she can. Not only to show her support but because she likes their music, in the same vein as Halestorm or Korn. It was a good show and afterwards she got to go back stage and hang out with the band. A magazine was there, took a few pictures, even asked her a few questions. They ended up printing an article about the band. Talking about their upcoming CD and how hopes were high that it would go national. They even mentioned her, she got a quote in the article and they mentioned the shop she works at. She saw it as good publicity for the shop. Only a few weeks later this guy started hanging out outside the shop. Tall, muscular, a crop of shaggy dark hair over a handsome face with deep set eyes and a stubbled chin. He’d be attractive to her if he wasn’t give off the biggest creep vibe she’d ever felt. He unsettled her, made her uncomfortable, to the point that she had one of the guys at work start following her home. It didn’t matter. One night after a night with friends, she was unlocking her door when she heard a noise behind here. She turned, to find him there. Close enough to share breath. When he spoke, it was like a switch was flipped in her mind. It took her back to New Orleans, Mardi Gras, that night she couldn’t remember. It all came rushing back. Leaving the crowd with this man. Heading across town to a place just a packed full of people. All dancing and celebrating and then…. Things got explicably weird. There were fangs and howling and some sort of ritual…. The man’s name was Kade. He wasn’t there to hurt her. Quiet the opposite, he was there to invite her back to the pack. Back where she belonged. That night he’d turned her, made her more than human. Only after it was done she freaked out, and ran faster than any of them could keep up. They lost her and after a year of searching he had found her again. She belonged with him, with the pack. At least, that was what he told her. Charlie didn’t agree. It was all too much. There was no way it could be real. No way it was true. She couldn’t be a werewolf? She would know if she was something like that wouldn’t he? Kade didn’t leave at her refusal. That night, he helped her, skeptical as she was, to change for the first time by her own will. It was only later that Charlie realized why she would wake up on the balcony of the night of the full moon. Once changed, her instincts sought what was comforting, familiar. The two of them ran through the park, spending the rest of the night sprinting through the trees and chasing deer. By morning they were back at her place and he tried again to convince her. Only now that she understood, Charlie stood firm. Her place was here, in Freedom City. Surprisingly Kade left. No argument, no hassle. Leaving only a warning that “In time, you will understand.†It seemed all rather dramatic to her but then again, she’s a freaking werewolf. Nothing is normal for her anymore. After that night Charlie saw her life from a new perspective. She did her best to clean up her act. Staying away from the hard stuff and seeing this as a change to be something better. She started focusing more on her art and less on where she could go to party. Sure she still goes to concerts and has a good time, but she’s turned the dial down from eleven. Personality & Motivation: Werewolves aren’t your typical heroes, more often thought of as the bad guys. The problem with that is that Charlie doesn’t feel evil or bad. In fact, she feels like a better person for it. Sure people are going to ask a ‘monster’ for help, but that won’t stop her from giving it. The way she sees it, the fear is a good thing. The idea of some dirt bag peeing his pants because of her just makes her smile, a big toothy werewolf smile. On a more personal level she is focusing more on her art now than ever. Working on her technique and trying to become a better tattooer. She still focuses on the creepy but cute side of the world, but she’s broadened her horizons and working on more gothic and realistic pieces as well. Some day she hopes to be able to open her own shop. Make a name for herself. Powers & Tactics: Aside from her transformation, she has little in the way of flashy powers. Unfortunately for the other guys Charlie is no stranger to hand to hand combat. She’s been in more than her fair share of barfights and as a single woman in the city, she’s had taken up kickboxing for self defense and fitness. It’s something that has become invaluable when combined with the enhanced strength and claws of her hybrid form. She usually closes into melee as fast as possible, sometimes even recklessly because of her ability to heal. She’s able to shrug of bruising without care, letting her press on when someone else would have taken a step back. If surrounded or fighting multiple enemies in her wolf form she’s liable to howl, hoping to instill fear and possibly cause her enemies to flee. She is a predator after all, what predator doesn’t enjoy a good chase? Complications: Wolf Form: Difficulty Rating 11/10: The hybrid form is one thing, but her wolf form in another. The mindset required is so foreign to her, so strange. It requires letting go in a way that she isn’t comfortable with, nor does she really trust herself while in it. In order to willingly shift into it, Charlie needs to be calm and completely focused. If she fails, the attempt could be wasted or leave her dazed or worse [GM discretion] WHAT THE HECK IS THAT?: Werewolves are rather scary and changing back into her human form to talk to civilians really isn’t an option. Would you run screaming from a werewolf? Maybe run to the cops and tell them to ‘Shoot the monster?’ Welcome to her day. Lone Wolf: Having turned down Kade and thus his pack, Charlie is on her own. Werewolves of her kind often seek strength in numbers and the potential for a different pack to try and recruit her is very real. Not to mention the possibility of Kade coming back and next time he might not be so friendly. 12. Juno is left speechless by the girl, staring blankly for a moment before blinking at the empty space she just vacated. Clearly this would not be your average field trip. She probably should have suspected as much, and really doesn't know why she's surprised. The lost world..... She figured that just meant a trek into some old sparsely populated jungle. She couldn't have been more wrong. The feeling kept growing as she followed Lord Zander and her group through the humid jungle, then through the ravine. She could have easily teleported over the tricky bits, but to be honest she was enjoying it. The climb was fun until the world around her shifted, giving her a sense of vertigo that someone with balance like her isn't used to. By the time her senses clear she is almost in shock. Her eyes open wide and her mouth agape as she stares out at the endless sea of trees. "Oh.. Wow. Oh..... Are those pterodactyls?" Juno is in absolute awe, her voice turning almost to a laugh. She crouches down, her backpack helping her balance as she leans forward, eyes scanning down from the sky and to the large creatures near the water. "Does that mean there are Raptors? Like, Velociraptors? The kind that gang up on you and rip your throat out? Because the thought is both awesome and terrifying."

  14. Werewolf Based on the Loup Garou or Rougarou myth. It has it's roots in French American colonies and in Cajun legend. There are a lot of inconsistencies in the myth ranging from it being just a man with a wolf's head to a large full bodied wolf. I plan i putting elements of the myth in the character's backstory and such. I would just like some critiques on the mechanics here for now. 15. Hello! Starting a thread to put some theoretical builds and stuff on. Gonna start here with my Werewolf so people can look at it and give me suggestions and opinions. Hopefully I'll get more up in the future! EDIT Have a character idea I need a little help with! Please see newest posts!
  16. Juno nearly starts when that loud voice grabs her attention, head whipping around to see the man walking toward them. Blue eyes scan over his attire and the way he holds himself. Combined with a very tribal vibe she decides that she really wouldn’t want to mess with this guy, especially when Giang calls him ‘lord’. Yep, he’s definitely an important person. Juno steps away from the cliff and toward where the group has formed an impromptu line. She flushes a bit from embarrassment when the broad shouldered man stops in front of her, hand reaching out to grasp and shake his. “Hi…. I’m Juno, like she said. Nice to meet you sir.†Flashing a smile, she just hopes she doesn’t sound dumb. “Hi. Uhm… I think Giang said your name was Kazra? Nice to meet you.†She holds her hand out to the girl as well, seeing no reason why they can’t become acquainted.
  17. “Ah-“ Juno starts but immediately closes her mouth again. “True.†She’s not used to being super powered. Sometimes she forgets exactly what she can do now. In all honesty, she could probably dodge the Jaguar and zap up high in a tree and be long gone before the cat managed to follow. Giang’s voice dragged her attention away from her own musings and out across the great distance they could see. Settling on the misty mountainscape as a single word bounced around in her mind – sabertooth. What the heck kind of field trip did she sign up for? Oh. Right. For a moment she forgot what kind of school she goes to now. Why would it be a ‘normal’ field trip when everyone here isn’t? “That looks pretty far. How long do you think it will take us to get there?" She turns to Giang for a moment before her eyes scan back to the mountain in the distance. Blues scanning the high peaks and where the fade into the clouds. She could probably get there with a few teleports and it would take almost no time at all. Though she’s smart enough to know that splitting from the group probably isn’t a good idea.
  18. Juno had never been out of America. Sure she lived in Florida, so she was no stranger to people from Latino Nations. Mexicans and Cubans were a good chunk of the population down there. Heck, a lot of her friends had been bilingual because of their parents. Juno though was American born and raised. Aside from her family’s move to Freedom City, she hadn’t really been anywhere that wasn’t for a gymnastics competition. Living in Florida was never something she thought would prepare her for anything in her life. Today though, today it definitely would help. She was no stranger to the hot and muggy climate around her, though that didn't really stop it from being uncomfortably hot. Or the way the humidity feels like it's trying to drown you with the very air. Dressing appropriately helped a bit. Gray and white board shorts, a blue tank top and a thin white short sleeved zipper hoodie. Beneath that you can just see the edges of where her protective suite isn’t zipped up. She hadn’t wanted to bring it, any of it. Though in order for her dad to let her go, she had to promise she would wear it. The suite and the mid calf snake proof hiking boots her dad bought her for a hiking field trip with her old school. She pitched him a similar theme this time. Just.... forgot to mention South America. “This is just like summer in Florida Gene. Welcome to my childhood.†She’s standing right at the edge of the plateau, toeing the expanse with one foot as she leans out to try and look straight down. A little over a year ago she would have been terrified. Being able to teleport changes your perspective on heights a little bit. “So…. Do we need a guide because we are looking for something specific down there or just… exploring? I mean is this like a tour guide or the type of guide that tries to keep you from getting eaten by a Jaguar?†One hand firmly grasps the bag near her back foot, heavy with water and a bit of food, some clothes and the belt and goggles to her suite. You never know when infrared vision might be handy in the jungle. See what the predator sees.
  19. Juno was too distracted by the way the boss shook off her attack that she missed his retaliation, grateful for the layer of protection her suit provided her. He had made contact but the second skin flexed and absorbed the damage. Distracted as she may be, she had enough time to see the thug coming. Sidestepping and ducking away from his attack to avoid damage. Seeing that he would make things harder for her in the long run, she lashes out. Her hand makes contact with his shoulder, causing no damage with the actual blow. Though to the thug's misfortune, electricity arcs from her hand and across his torso, shocking the thug until he falls unconscious to the ground. She turns toward the leader. “What? You guys have to gang up on girls now? Lame.â€
  20. Juno had to smile when Gunnar made his way into the room. Challening the badguys like any super hero would. Her own entrance was going to be much less flashy. Everyone in the room was focused on gunnar, on his challenge. One man seems to be in charge. Giving orders and Juno's eyes narrow. A bonus eh? Not going to happen. Not if she can help it. As far as she knows, the have no idea she is there. So she's going to use it. Electricity pulses over her skin and she reappears behind the leader and slightly apart from the pack. Her hand arching with electricity as she touches him between the shoulder blades. Blue shocks spark out from the spot and over the leader's body. It was meant to drop him, but didn't quiet do it. "Well that didn't go how I wanted."
  21. Polarity, in the bank, with the Paralyze attack XD Teleporting to and attacking the leater with Paralyze and hopefully he doesn't see it coming. Paralyze attack: 1d20+10 29
