Investigate check. (1d20+15=27)
25 Sense Motive and Notice, 20 Gather Information and 15 Medicine checks with Skill Mastery. He's looking for anything useful about the body, anyone who saw anything they don't already know or is acting suspicious and anything he can find out about where Typhoon might have gone.
As far as Midnight can tell, whatever force drew the heart out of the body was being wielded by something much smaller than the corpse - from the extreme downward angle of its exit, perhaps no smaller than a man. It was by something tentacled and cold from the frost marks big enough to hide city buses all around the wound; something cold indeed, like the icy darkness of the Schattenwelt, or maybe the icy cold from the very bottom of the sea.
Midnight is making an auto 35 Intimidate check with Skill Mastery, size penalties be damned. If that's not enough, let me know and I'll roll for it with Second Chance.
Erin tries to resist any illusion effects. She is terrible at resisting illusion effects.
But she stares so long and so hard that she can take 20 on her Notice check, for a score of 35.
Since she is focusing on them specifically, Erin can see that some of the shadows are slightly different colors from the others - the ones closest to al-Qaum are a decidedly _reddish_ black, a strange sort of inky color that reminds her of something very familiar. They look as if someone took shadows and emptied them out and filled them with something else! Most of the rest are darker ones, a true black, and they're staying at the extreme fringes of the 'bubble' of circling shadows around al-Qaum - it was one of those who whispered in her ear.
There's plenty of time for other folks to make their Notice/Sense Motive/Investigate/Knowledge (cosmology) checks at this point, or maybe whip out a Super-Sense or two...
Trevor's super-senses should cut through any concealment, darkness included, with infravision for good measure. He gets a 25 on Notice with Skill Mastery. He does also have partial immunity to telepathic effects if there's any shenanigans going on that way?

Al-Qaum is jacked up on Terminus energies! They don't make him up - he's not _from_ the Terminus, but he is riddled with the stuff like he's been snorting it. Those weird shadows around him are entropic in nature, not umbric.
