Well, that's a fail. Not enough that he's helpless, mind you, but still a fail.

Now comes Nick's turn. He's going to manifest Banshee Wail to try and add to Vigourie's trouble. That'll be a DC19 Will save for Vigourie... which he makes. Hoo, boy. So now it's Vigourie's turn, and...

Marcus is not himself, so there's really not a whole lot he CAN do... or rather, nothing he WANTS to do.

Of course, his body has other plans:

1) Fort save vs Paralyze (I probably should've done this on the rounds where he was slowed AND where he was paralyzed, but...): 1d20+12=23

Not quite enough vs DC27, so Arc's done for now, until his Will save comes up for the mind control.

That's a bit better.

Vigourie rolls a 13, meaning he's Stunned again as well as Staggered.

Leraje, on the other hand, makes a 28, meaning he's unharmed. And speaking of that old devil, it's his turn. He aims right for Gabriel... and misses again. One of the downsides of being one of Hell's Crusaders... you really don't know the meaning of "take the time to aim."

Oh look. It's a demon. Again. The same one, in fact.

Switch Array back to Drain Toughness. It worked well last time. 8-)

On to the 2nd Attack!

Attack: 23. Hey, I just flipped the numbers around. Nifty! Also, another hit. DC 22 Fort Save, Rank 12 Drain Toughness.

On second thought, so that Arcturus actually gets to have some fun this combat... FIAT!

Vigourie manages to break his bonds, withdrawing the power bound up in Leraje's contract and the ongoing Mind Control effect. He is now up, though he's still Bruised x3 and Staggered, and hits everyone with a Confuse effect. DC22 Will Saves, please. As InvisibleCastle is down for me right now, I'll be doing this with the chat room's dice roller.

And for reference on Confuse, courtesy of Shaen:

D20 BEHAVIOR

1-2 Attack the user of the Confuse effect.

3-5 Act normally.

6-10 Do nothing but babble incoherently.

11-14 Flee at top possible speed.

15-20 Attack the nearest creature.

And keep in mind unlike Mind Control, Confuse is one of those effects where you do get to roll round after round.

Um. Boom goes the dynamite? Or it would be normally, but after discussion with Ecal and Quinn, it was decided another Fiat might be more appropriate for dynamic tension. So in compromise, Vigourie takes another Bruise and soars straight upwards like it's a test-your-strength test, but is not knocked out.
