  1. "Alright..." Powerhouse said, not sure how he was supposed to help with anything but lifting, but willing enough to try. The statement from the man who called himself Kid Cthullu surprised him though. "Oh! I did not recognize you Mr. Cthullu, without tentacles sprouting from your face. I am glad you are not forced to be the tentacle creature all the time, it seems like it would be a tremendous pain to live a normal life." He said, smiling, then shrugged at the Christmas thing, unsure of what Christmas was but attempting to pass it off on something else."Good, I suppose. I'm not entirely sure what you mean, but my day has been good." He finished, turning to the girl, and greeting her next. "Hello mam, It's nice to meet you."
  2. Powerhouse nodded as the woman spoke, attempting to be a good listener, he took orders well, so it was probably mostly the same thing to his mind, and for his effort he actually did listen to what the woman was saying, though some of it was a complete blank to him, he knew enough about personal mind barricades to offer his help. "Just imagine yourself climbing a mountain!" He offered, smiling. "Climbing mountains is really easy, you know? So just imagine yourself as doing it, and it won't seem so bad because you'll be done before you know it!"then he got quiet again. "Ah...wait...I forget people can't climb mountains like I do...then just think of something else easy!" he amended. It had worked for him, so he assumed his advice would work very well for everyone!
  3. Powerhouse took a look at the garage, then the tree, then Push, then to the car that pulled up, then shrugged. He had nothing better to do. "I suppose Mr Push." he said, looking at the tree and the garage again, wondering how that was supposed to fit in there. "You need help, right Mr. Push?...but how are you going to fix up the garage, it seems like it would take a long time..." He asked, before turning to the van people. "Ah...Hello. I'm Powerhouse." he said, lifting his hand to them. "Nice to meet you."
  4. "...No...I suppose they didn't.." He agreed, considering. "Right. So this is Friendship. I kind of knew that much, a little. I have other Super Hero people I talk to." he admitted, poking at the roof a bit, then grinning at the masked heroine. "Yeah, I know I'm not there anymore, and it's great!" He exclaimed happily, raising his arms into the sky and opening them. "No more oppressive forest, no more watching my every move! No more Chains!" He exclaimed, then touched his neck reflexively. "mostly." he mumbled, much quieter, and with a darker look on his face, then perked up again. " But it's great to be here!" He said, happy once more, then decided to apply his new teachings. "So, how are you?" He asked, staring intently at the masked woman.
  5. There was only one target left in Powerhouse's eyes, and, stepping onto and over the man he had used to create a path out of the concession stand, and barreled into the next person as Push slowed him down. The man, even when wearing a super-powered suit of armor, was not prepared for Powerhouse slamming into his side and sending him crashing into the wall with Powerhouse beating on him. Once the armor-wearing criminal found himself implanted in the wall, the blond man punched him several more times in the face, before pulling back and punching him as hard as he could- probably-, sending him through the wall and tumbling into the street. "All threats...finished..." he mumbled, staring through the hole.
  6. with Dragonfly stunned, it's PH's turn. He'll attack the remaining enemy. 3+5=8 Misses, and I'll Re-Roll. 18+5=23 Hits. HIs save is; 11+10=21 He would be Staggered and Stunned, but he was Staggered from Before, so he becomes Unconscious.
  7. Taking the bag and putting it next to him, Powerhouse nodded. "So...that's what a Present is." he said. "Probably should have asked before I started talking about them." he finished, smiling, then got quiet and sat on the ground. "I..don't have a present for you though..." He muttered dejectedly, then continued. "But...there's a word...I don't know it, but I'm...grateful? Maybe. My Chest feels good when you say you'll listen to me. I've never been told that before." he mumbled out.
  8. "Welll..." He said, then got quiet once more. It was normal for him to pause before answering a question, but at this point, he went completely silent for a long time, opening, then closing his mouth repeatedly, before falling to a seated position and thinking. He ignored the cold and the wind, and almost completely the other person on the roof, looking up from time to time to make sure she was still there, before finally nodding. "Well...I suppose I've never gotten to think about it before..." he said, slowly, as if each word was a tooth being pulled him an impacted gumline. "...I...I think it would be nice. To be able to talk to people..." He agreed, finally. "I suppose I can meet people when I'm pretending to not be myself too."
  9. The questions were becoming more confusing to Powerhouse, and rapidly. He didn't really understand why it was strange, so, with a puzzled look on his face, he tried to answer her questions, thinking out every word as it passed his lips. "I...well, I never needed friends before. Not that anyone would talk to me, but whatever. I did all my homework alone, not that they allowed help" He said, idly dismissive. He had gotten this far by only understanding the definition, after all, plus, he didn't want people getting hurt. People were fragile! "but yeah...I mean, I am this all the time. Isn't everyone?" He asked, then got really quiet for a bit again. "I mean...this is me, you know? I'm not a guy who just happens to run around in Spandex..." He explained, looking a bit sad at that part, though he perked up not much longer after. "But I have a great routine for life! I go to work, get my work, and head out. I turn in good pages, so the boss usually doesn't mind if I do my work somewhere else, so sometimes I'll just find a roof to work on, and I go to the grocery store every Tuesday to buy my meals for the week. I put the money in the Landlord's Slot every month, and I know he gets it because he hasn't knocked on my door." He said, excited to have someone interested enough in his life to ask him how his life went, but he shrugged off the statement of a lack of health. "I don't know how it's not. I mean, I have the Superhero people I always end up saving the day with, those are friends, right? And you're my friend, I mean, you asked me about my life! It's been like, 12 years since someone asked me how my day was going! I mean...I think I'm pretty well adjusted." he added happily.
  10. Player Name:Flare_Knight Character Name:The Beacon Power Level: (7) 105/105PP Trade-Offs:-2 Defense / +2 Toughness Unspent PP: 0 Gold Status: 0/30 In Brief: An orphan with the ability to turn into a blob of Sentient Light after being chosen as the new Beacon and having an accident occur. Has funding from the Albright institute and goes to Claremont when not aiding at the orphanage he grew up in. Alternate Identities:David Jones Identity: Public Birthplace: Freedom City Occupation:Student Affiliations: Albright Institute, Claremont Academy Family: Langston Albright (Mentor/Father-Figure), Happy Days Orphanage (Caretakers) Age: 17 (DoB: July 15th, 1994) Apparent Age: 17 Gender: Male Ethnicity: South African Height: Varies (5'10) Weight: Varies Eyes: N/A (Brown when formed) Hair: N/A (Dark) Description: Pharos is, as easily to describe him, a blob of shifting Light. It has a physical substance and can be touched, but it is extremely bright and sometimes seems to roll like a wave, even when not being touched. It has the ability to solidify the light it gives off, as well. It's voice is soothing and melodic, but has a hint of an accent, and seems to come from the entire creature. If fighting as a Human, he wears a modified Beacon costume, a white Spandex suit with yellow boots and a cape. These disappear when he is in his 'blob' form. When Pharos is a human, he wears white three-piece suits at all times, unless there is simply no way for him to do so, or he is at the orphanage, at which point he wears bright white T-Shirts and jackets with jeans, and makes sure to never spill a thing upon them. Even when he can't wear a suit, his hair is always impeccably styled, never grows long, and he takes pains to follow manners and etiquette. Power Descriptions: Light History: His first words after the transformation were full of panic, and terror, as he melted under his own fingers. He wondered why he was so bright, why he was falling apart. Langston Albright, the man who, obviously, ran the Albright Institute, was the former Beacon. That, however, was many years ago, and Albright was now simply a man who ran an institute to gather knowledge about Super humans, and he was aging. He had used the powers of the Light of Pharos to keep his body in working order, but he was still nearing ninety years old and even the Light could not keep his body working much longer. Plus, he had heard rumors, rumors that his old enemy, Nacht-Krieger, was coming back, and more powerful than ever. There were options, heroes who he could entrust with this power, but the Light had other plans. The Light was not originally a thinking entity, not entirely. At the very least, when it came into existence, it was not thinking. It was after thousands of years, however, that Pharos, the original, slowly became one with the Light. Then the ones that came after him did the same, but never as strongly. It took years upon years, empires rose and fell, and the world shifted, but, eventually, the Light became ‘aware’. Not as Pharos, for Pharos was only a part of the Light, instead, the Light was its own identity, one separate from those within it. It was around this time it realized that Langston Albright, as good a bearer as he was, was becoming older, too old to wield the powers, and the Light decided to fix this in its own way, not realizing Langston’s planning. It started as pains and flares of his power, light, not painful, but obviously strange, but Langston thought it was simply his power telling him, reminding him, that he had to find a successor soon. He scheduled many interviews with promising supers, mostly those with weaker powers who wanted to help others, and spent most of his time looking over the files, painfully examining and cross examining their profiles to find the best successor possible. All the while, his flares became more powerful, and he found himself slipping, becoming less able to focus. He held hard onto his abilities though, and, through a grueling interview process, selected a particularly interesting child named David Jones. David Jones was born in South Africa, but his parents immigrated when he was only 3 months old, meaning he knew little of the culture. When he was 4, he had just been taken to a movie by his parents when a drunk Driver swerved into their car, and he only survived due to spontaneously developing the power to turn into a liquid form, protecting him from the impact, though his parents were not so lucky. He had been raised there, and while he had been considered for Claremont, it was decided that, as it was, his powers were too weak for it to be necessary, and, though he wanted to be a hero, he realized he probably couldn’t do too much, and was happy to understand this and decide to bandon it.. Indeed, what was more impressive was that he seemed to be a good deal smarter than average, though he wasn’t a genius, and he seemed able to resolve most conflicts easy enough. As he had aged, however, there hadn’t been a family to adopt him, so he simply passed his time and had begun to work at the orphanage as more of a worker then a child to be watched. Deciding this was the child to be his inheritor; Langston brought him to Albright Industries, and began to transfer the power to him. It was supposed to be a simple process, one where David would become the new Beacon and, eventually, live on the legacy he had made famous during the old times, perhaps using his own power to become liquid in new ways. This wasn’t how it happened. During the transfer, the Light attempted to make its move, trying to form its own body, where it could interact with the world. It was barely doing this when it gained insight into Langston’s plan, seeing what he was doing, and, in a fit of worry after the realization, dove into David Jones’ body, speeding up the process. There was a blast of light, and, when Albright could refocus his eyes, he saw David melting into a puddle. At first, it seemed though the powers had destroyed David, but the teen slowly managed to form himself into his humanoid form, though still made of light, then, with even more focus, turned back into a solid human. Thanks to the oddity of the creation, David was able to, by thinking intently on it, figure out what the Light had been trying to do. This was not the end of Albright’s plans, however- as David was still able to assume a human form-, and, in some ways, he had been prepared for something like this. He began his training, giving David an apartment to stay at while he began teaching him. Business, controlling his Powers, and many other things were on the list, things that David had not been taught, but needed to learn. Thankfully, the child was a quick leaner- a quality Albright had been looking for- and grasped the basic ideas of Business quickly, devoting his time to both his studies and his time at the orphanage, though he avoided running himself ragged, he had to give up time at the orphanage to work with it. Even though this saddened him, in many ways, he also got to be a hero now, and one who could truly make a difference. Not only that, but he was the inheritor of the powers of the Light of Truth. There was no way for David to be unhappy when he was able to do something he had been dreaming about since he was a child! As he continued his training, it became obvious to Langston that he simply could not teach the child anymore. He was becoming weaker and weaker, and his powers were fading even faster than David’s were increasing, a side-effect of the transformation, and with his weakened powers, came the loss of his abilities. He could no longer even create a simple item made of hard light, and his ability to protect himself had fallen so much that a fall down the stairs could knock the wind out him- though barely truly hurt him-, and he had become unable to fly. Understanding this meant he might be nearing his end, but caring more that his student got the proper instruction needed to carry on his legacy, Albright enrolled David in Claremont for the Fall, intending for him to learn from the best school for Supers he knew. David is a nice kid, and had a very easy view on life. He’s his own person, and doesn’t let his accidents get him down, though he does sometimes say jokingly that he's cursed. He works hard for what he has, and realizes few people are as lucky as him, he has incredible powers, a place that he can call home, and a person who, even if he won't say it often, cares for him very much. Personality & Motivation: David is an open-minded person, probably due to his upbringing, and is always willing to listen to people in trouble. He wants what's best for everyone, and will work tirelessly if someone has a problem to help them get over it. David wants nothing more then to take on the mantle of the Bearer of the Light Of Truth and be considered a good successor, and to protect the world. Indeed, his worst fear is if he somehow sullies the name that he has taken, as he feels that it would be the greatest insult, not only to his home, but to Albright as well. This means he always does his best, but can be swayed to popular opinion if he finds himself becoming disliked. He works towards Justice and the Law, but swings in what 'Justice' is can influence him. This is not to say he is not stubborn in principles, but rather he is adaptable. Powers & Tactics: David isn't quite as powerful as some incarnations of the Beacon, and indeed probably ranks as one of the weakest. This creates serious problems when people who remember Beacon come after him. Indeed, he's weaker then the 80 year old Langston Albright was before he appeared, but trains extremely hard. He relies on his Liquid body for infiltration and avoidance purposes, but he's still a wielder of the Light of Truth, and can fire beams of Light, or blind foes for short periods of time. Complications: Successor: David is both the Successor for the Light of Truth, and thus Pharos, White Rose, White Thorn and Langston Albright/Beacon, but also is a contender for successor of the Albright Institute itself. He also still spends time at the Happy Days Orphanage, looking after the children. These can be hard to juggle together at times, and can end up with Davd being a bit frazzled at time- though he defiantly tries to stay in control-. Responsibility: David essentially has two teaching schedules, one at Claremont for more general studies, and one with Langston, for business management Protection: The Light of Truth is a single object, and only has so much power. As David grows stronger, Langston grows weaker. This means that, while Albright was originally more powerful then the novice David, he is now significantly weaker, and if old enemies, if they so wanted, could easily take the older man and attempt to gain revenge. Enemy: Nazis. As a hold-over trait from the memories of White Rose and Thorn, Pharos holds a greater then usual Dislike for the Nazis and their newer minions. In particular, Nachht-Kreiger is a serious enemy for him, his Antithesis, though he is significantly more powerful then the new Beacon. Prejudice: Pharos is South African, though his parents left before he could even walk. This means that there are a few people who are not very fond of him. 11. With the larger man distracted, Powerhouse took this chance to run along the metal bridge, essentially carelessly, towards the larger yellow creature. As he got within striking distance, he pulled back his clenched fist, and delivered a crushing blow to the stunned creature, smashing his fist into his face. It did little real damage to the creature, but it was so satisfying. "Take that!" He said, triumphant at finally inflicting some damage onto the larger man, even if it was only a bruise or so.
  12. There was only one man left out of the group of four, the last man, and the first to run at the original battle, but, this time, even he realized there was no escape, unless he finished everyone off right now. With a roar, he continued his aiming at Dragonfly and fired a massive blast, even larger then usual, warping space into a beam and firing it again at Dragonfly, colliding with her as powerfully as he could through his limited understanding of the suit.
  13. Even as Terror began what would have been a charge along the small bridge, he had to cover his ears with his hands as the violent sound assaulted his ears and head, making him scream out loudly, and completely incapable of movement as the sound burned his ears and caused him to claw at them. "paaain!" He roared, then slowly fell into a wordless, high-pitched whine as he stopped talking and simply tried to drown out the sound with his own screaming.
  14. 2+5=7 He's completely paralyzed and unable to attack, if I'm correct, judging from what I'm reading. Next is PH's turn. He will take this advantage to All-Out Power Attack. 13+5=18 He hittts. DC35 Toughness on the big man. 12+17=29 He fails! He is bruised and Stunned.
  15. Powerhouse, after spending some time considering the question he was being asked, finally shook his head at the masked hero's question. "No, I don't think I have. I mean, from what I've read in those comics, people who are friends with heroes always end up getting kidnapped and then the hero has to save them. I wouldn't want to put people like that in danger" He said, then said something completely different, like he abandoned his thought process for something else. "Plus, I'm worried about it. I'm always busy being a Hero, you know, so they'd eventually forget about me, yeah?" plus, they could be spies he added to himself at the end, then shrugged. "There's ways to spend Christmas without having friends and family, aren't there?"
  16. with Gabriel at 23 and PH at 7, Terror rolls his Init 11+1=12 Sooo Gabriel Terror PH is the order we are at now. The bridge is one of those 'one person' types you see so often. It's a long metal bridge, suspended above the air and has the room for a Person and a half. There's a looooong fall down, and a loooong climb up.
  17. Some of the words that Silhouette spoke to Powerhouse were those he didn't quite understand, but, through careful working of the words around them, he got the jist of it. People celebrated this plant called Holly, based on Christan and Pagan people, and Saint Nick was the Saint of Holly. Watching the masked woman intently as she kept speaking, he took a step back and nodded, processing what he had been told. Powerhouse learned fast enough, he was just a bit thick on what some things meant, so he considered for a time, working through a map in his head on what everything meant. "Okay! I think I got it!" He said loudly, sticking one finger into the air."People buy presents to give to their friends and families to show their appreciations for dealing with them for such a long time, while being nice to everyone and not caring what it costs you, so long as someone else ends up happy!" He said, starting slow, with heavy pauses between each word, then building to a massive crescendo and practically shouting the word 'happy'. He even did little finger puppets to show what he thought was going on. Then, as rapidly at he had began, he got silent again, and his face compressed back into deep thought. "...Wait..." he scratched his head, like a plane hit a brick wall and came to a dead stop right before it lifted off, as all the steam he had been building dissipated. "A Family is like...brothers and sisters and mothers and fathers...right?" That was what one of those shows he watched said. "I don't have any of those...or...well...no, I don't have any. Who am I supposed to go visit?"
  18. "Not a Cornfield, no, a Dumpster, actually. And it wasn't really 'best of luck' so much as 'only half dead after escape', but yes, pretty much I suppose." Powerhouse corrected, then agreed with her, thinking back to what he'd seen recently. He didn't have a Radio, but his TV had seemed to be fond of that one movie with the kid with the Red Ryder BB gun- whatever that was-, he had just assumed it was just educational programming about why you always had to be careful with loaded weapons built into a carefully constructed framework. Considering the new information he had gained in this conversation and nodding thoughtfully, he looked out at the Red and Green on the street, craning his neck to see it. "So it was a Christmas special...I thought my cable had gone out again and it defaulted to that same movie over and over again...that explains why the Cable man was so mad at me when I called him up that second time after he said nothing was wrong with it..." He spoke to himself out loud, as if he had forgotten someone else was there with him. "So...this is a...Holiday. Like a Weekend? And people wear Red and Green to be visible in the Snow? It would suck if a Car hit them." Powerhouse was obviously having trouble thinking about all the information, but he continued his questions despite it. "Tell me more Ms. Silhouette, I'm intrigued at this festivity." He said earnestly, taking a step forward and smiling broadly.
  19. After being Blasted in the head and becoming disoriented, Powerhouse was thoroughly confused when he stumbled his way back into the battle, meaning his brain started focusing again, and what he saw was the man who shot him, moving extremely slow. A target. The target. Powerhouse, focusing entirely upon that man who was stalled, grabbed him by the throat with both hands, lifting him off the ground with empty eyes as the man struggled against Powerhouse's fingers, fingers that, while they were not wide, were incredibly strong, and the man, even wearing a powered suit, was unable to wrench himself from Powerhouse's grasp. Turning, Powerhouse slammed the man's face into an old Popcorn maker, breaking the doors into shards and smashing him through the back as well, leaving a hole behind the item where his head had been. Powerhouse's hands still gripped around his throat, then pulled him back, slamming him into the metal of the machine, then, finally, he lifted the man above his head and slammed him through the counter, splintering it and leaving a man-wearing-armor-shaped hole in the counter and the ground under it. His head towards Powerhouse, The blond man delivered once last punch to the man's face, shattering the face-mask under his fist.
  20. With Powerhouse un-stunned and his friend next to him, he shall attack Armor Guy 3. 12+5=17 If not for him being Slowed, that would miss. PH owes Push. DC 35 Save 1+12=13 ...That really hurts him. He goes Straight to unconscious. This leaves Armor Guy 2 alone. He'll continue to attack Dragonfly. 19+8=27 .....Yeaaaaah. That's also the Toughness Save that's needed
  21. Powerhouse had been enjoying a day of doing nothing- after all, today was nothing special to him-, jumping across Rooftops and generally being a good citizen, when he saw a tree flying through the air. This was enough to cause him to stop for a second, then gradually adjust his course to follow the flying fir, curious on exactly what strange tradition it was to send trees into the air in the middle of the day. "Ms. Fleur must be over there." He decided upon seeing the tree, deciding that was the only explanation, he changed his course even faster and jumped after the tree, landing near where it had dropped out of the sky, and crashing into it. His surprise upon seeing Mr. Push instead of Mr. Fleur was enough that he looked blatantly confused, until he realized that Mr. Push DID have telekinesis, after all. "Hello Mr. Push." He said, covering his confusion with a waved hand. "Why are you preforming strafing runs with a Fir Tree?" He asked, pointing at the large tree.
  22. Today is PH's (assumed) Birthday! As such, I'll be making a handful of edits to him now. First, his Age. Obviously, there are a handful of discrepancies with his Age at the time of escape and the time of becoming a Hero. Powerhouse's age is 24, not 23 or 22. His new Combat Stat area; Initiative: +4 Attack: +3, +5 melee Grapple: +9, +32 with powers Defense: +6 (+6 Base, +0 Dodge Focus), +3 Flat-Footed Knockback: -2/-12, -15 with Immovable This added the +4 Initiative from Improved Initiative and +2 from the additional Super-Strength Ranks. Regarding Super-Strength, his Load Limit is wrong. Powerhouse's Effective Strength is 95, which is correct, but the information on his Heavy Load is incorrect. It is two Ranks too high, so it needs to be 6,400 tons. 23. Upon hearing the familiar voice, Powerhouse jumped and twisted, rolling onto his belly and staring at Silhouette, pushing himself off the ground- half way a push up- to a sitting position, grinning at her. "I aim to please, Ms. Silhouette." He said, inclining her head at her, then to the bag, obviously interested in it. "Christmas? I've never heard that word before."
