  1. "Really, I should tell Allison about that, she's a twelve in woman's, so it's been heck trying to find good shoes for her at the bridal shops. Plus she has a hard time finding good jeans long enough for her legs without heading over to the boy section. Anyway, we can probably head over there tomorrow if you're free. You can pick out a couple pairs you like I could make some of the outfits purely based on the shoes." Turning towards the waitress she gave her a smile, "I'd like a hot chocolate with whipped creme, and I'm ready to order. Can I get a roast beef sandwiche with lettace, pickles, and tomatoes on a sour dough roll." As the waitress wrote down the order and walked away, Carrie picked up the book and started to flip through the back past the fabrics that went into full page sketches (as well as magazine cut outs) of several different dresses that had different cuts and styles that ranged from layered elaborate to sleek and slinky with everything Carrie could think of inbetween, as well as different types of tops that ranged from corsets to long sleeves to half sleeves that were partially detached. "Things like pants and skirts can be made in simple styles to go with anything, tops and dresses however depend mostly on taste, so go ahead and skim through and look for some designs you like. Everything in there I've made in the past, and can probably obtain patterns for if I need to make alterations."
  2. She followed in a couple of quick strides keeping on his with her notepad at her side, she looked at her watch quietly, "No, the police usually take their time getting here, I've averaged a good twenty minutes for pick up. They generally don't like being seen in the area, plus considering they usually pass either a prostitute or a drug dealer on the way here they tend to get held up." This wasn't something she was saying based on her own assumption, because she did actually ask a police officer when he drove her home one time. He in returned gave her a minor interrogation about his son whom she had met earlier that night under unusual conditions much like these actually. "Anyway, I can't promise that this won't happen in the future, because I sort of live here. Though I usually try to get around the area before sunset, though now the days are getting shorter so it'll be near impossible soon." Skimming to see what he was waiting for, she caught site of the cycle, "Nice bike, custom job? Must be, cause it looks like it's older then I am but no way is a old school chopper that quiet, or has autopilot now that I think about it. What happens when you leave that behind and someone tries to steal it?"
  3. Technology roll for Carrie looking over the cycle.
  4. Her eyebrows went up almost instantly as the words from the woman sitting on the machine, Ice from our dimension can do what now, and I'm interesting in what way? Breaking down what the lady had said, her eyes moved to the container she slipped the ice into then back to her. She wanted to ask what she meant with that nonsensical sounding puesdo latin word the woman used to describe her, but there was only one thing she could think of that it could entail and she was not comfortable discussing it in public. The thing about seeping energies was strange too, dimensional issues wasn't her forte. Relaxing her eyebrows and her face, she started again in a quiet voice, "Umm, my name is Caroline, Caroline Wendle, though most call me simply Carrie." She let out a breath before continuing as she turned her eyes back to the ice, "Please correct me if I'm wrong, but is it possible that you want the ice to be used, as power source?"
  5. Physical science roll for Carrie inquiring why she would need the ice. 26
  6. Gather info rolls for Carrie identifying who the other three are. 12 for Cannon, 17 for Grim, 23 for Edge.
  7. Looking towards the well dressed woman's explanation of the machines build, she couldn't help but note the nonsensical metals listed among the likes, though she also mentioned the term dimensional. Dimensional, like the Terminus stuff? Well now I feel stupid, I just thought she was a steam punk fanatic. Well it probably helped that this happening anywhere else but Freedom City would probably have this as a response rather then jumping to anything like dimensional travel, and she needed ice. That was strange, but maybe there was something strange in the water in Freedom, it would certianly explain a lot. Watching the otherwise normal looking man in a steel helmet run down to the store to purchase a bag of ice and run back she said quietly, "Most fast food chains will give you cups of ice for free if you ask." Turning back to the woman she said, "If it's not to much trouble, could you specify why exactly you need ice from our dimension?"
  8. She didn't even need a second to respond, "Well, you appeared suddenly, in a dark alley, in the middle of the night, in the Fens, right after someone attempted to mug me. Plus I was behind the dumpster, so I couldn't really see you until you sort of retailated. By the way, that was a nice move. I'm glad I blocked or else I might of been out like Mister Mugger over there." Pointing her pen over at the body of the still unconcious form of the mugger, she looked down over at the pipe, "But yeah, sorry about attacking you, fight or flight instinct coupled with extenuating circumstances, anyway, you didn't anwser my question."
  9. "Drab colors don't work for anyone, for a pants suite I'd probably have to work more in tweed, I've got some in a lovely dark green that'd be good. Durability is nice as always, but it just depends on the events really it's not like you'll ever really have to be fighting in most of these outfits after all. Anyway, any where can be winter wear with a good coat. Three coats of varying styles can usually keep a winter wardrobe interesting, as well as scarves, which I can some cloth ones but I can't knit for beans." Flipping to the back to the more durable selection she went to a page, "I've got some blue wool fabric we can use for a real general coat, I could probably get some leather as well and make you a good sized duster, though that one I'd have to actually charge you for the materials since leather isn't cheap, pleather is cheaper, but I don't have either just laying around. The third could also be wool, though polyester would be a good choice for a waist coat, I'll have to buy buttons regardless. Of course, you'll need gloves too, though again, no knit ones, if we get leather for the coat we can use it for the gloves too, though I'll have to trace you're hand to get a good measurement, but they'll be nice and fitted. Plus, I already have the velcro for them." Flipping back from that page, she went to another one, "For pants, I have some denim, not a lot though, I've got a some linen too, both in white, and a few pastels like lilac and pink. I don't have any silk, it's expensive, I have some ramie blends though which look nice, though it's hard to clean it's pretty darn durable, probably something we could use for formal wear. Though the real issue I have to bring up is, how in the world are we going to get you shoes to go with all these outfits?"
  10. Carrie's in a beige FreeSa hoodie, some dark track pants and sneakers.
  11. I'd like to say that Carrie's out of costume for your reference.
  12. Carrie wasn't really noticed or noticing the arrival or the comments of the other heroes. She was amazingly good at ignoring other people, it was a trait she learned in high school, however, people were one thing, when a pixie came out of nowhere to see the contraption she turned to look. She didn't stare for THAT long however, if she wasn't used to weird after living for a good chunk of her life in freedom she certianly was after hanging out with Creature Feature who regularly to the form of bigger and grizzlier things then a fairy. Plus the pixie had answered a question, maybe she spent too much time with Vance because she started to answer things out of instinct, "Looks a good bit like it, though their might be some other metals mixed into there as well. Excellant craftsmanship overall, must of taken months to make like this especially since everything here had to of been in custom parts since no auto dealership in the world would have anything like this, even in the era it's meant to mimic." She finally faired a glance at the woman operating it and realizing she was there in her corset and dress that went perfectly with the device, "Ohh, good afternoon."

  14. The sun had set and there was a slight chill settling on the city, given, on the bus it was hardly noticable. Sitting three rows back Carrie clunched a formally long forgotten binder she had found in her desk drawers. With the help of tacky glue, and several pieces of cardstock it was now a booklet filled with several fabrics, about four little squares on twelve pages of various stuff she had lieing around her appartment. It had taken maybe an hour to prepare, which after a two hour nap, gave her about ten minutes to get out the door before coming, though she didn't look it. She was set up in dark blue cotton dress with lines a floral design embroidered in teal with black mini jacket covering her arms. Her hair was up in a high short bun, and she had worn her regular white sneakers to complete the ensemble. As such, she didn't really look like much, and garnered no real attention as she moved from the bus, to the restuarant and to the back as she found her way to a table she had once visited when the entirety of her incity family had once visited this place after a family picnic that had been hosted by her sister's university. Mona was seated, and already had a coffee which Carrie smelled before she saw. It didn't bother her terribly as she put herself down into the chair across the table from the tall heroine. "Evening, before you ask, feeling much better, got a nap in after I spent the day chasing the little demons around the playground then onto a completely different playground after I walked there over energetic behinds over to the closest Micky D's. I also got a record four misidentifying comments about being some sort of maternal figure, you'd think I'd get used to that sort of thing when it started to happen when I was in high school watching my little cousins." Taking her purse off of her head, and plopping it down on the chair adjacent to her, she got the fabric scrap book and slid it across the table, "In there's samples of everything I have plentiful enough to make anything. The thicker ones near the back are more for pants then tops, though you could make some pretty nice dresses with them as well. The front I've got a couple of sheers in different colors you can pair with some other fabrics at your discression. Just tell me what colors you like, and maybe the feel of the fabrics as well."
  15. She waved at the speeder as he went then turned to Vance and said, "You know Vance, if you're hopping home anyway, you might as well take me the whole way back it is on the way after all. Plus, if you show up in my neighborhood you'd probably scare the street patrons into calling it an early night." She snorted quietly at the thought, after knowing him for as short a time she did she couldn't imagine why anyone would want to run away from him. Given, she had never actually seen him angry, now that would be a sight to see. Picking up her purse and duffle bag she slung the pads that were originally skewed about and the wrappings into it before zipping it up and sliding it up her shoulder. She walked over at him, and glanced around to see if there was anyone else around that might get the wrong impression. When she confirmed that they were in fact alone she said, "Ready when you are."

  17. Carrie sighed quietly as she handed over her debit card to the cashier as she glanced at the bag he had just finished folding and stuffing a deep scarlet dress, a matching scarf, and a pair of square heeled shoes with little flowers on the toes that had been dyed to match the color of the other. She hadn't bothered trying it on, she knew it fit, the previous week had been spent with her and six other women trying on the dresses, and Allison watching and appraising each one as they all stood in line. Allison had seven bridesmaids for her wedding, most of whom were friends, though there was one or two of her paternal cousins mixed in there, though Carrie could hardly keep track. Each bridesmaid had a different color of the same dress, all seven colors of the rainbow, starting with red her color by default as she was going to be the one standing next to Allison at the alter. She hadn't bought the dress then like all the others when they finally settled on a cut and style because she didn't have the money. Allison had offered to pay for her's, but Carrie had turned her down out of principle, though principle was looking pretty bad as she glanced at the dollar amount on the screen. Two hundred and sixty dollars, that to her was the equivilant of her rent plus a weeks worth of groceries down the drain for a dress she'd have gathering dust in a closet for three months before wearing it once and then probably never seeing it emerge from her wardrobe again. However she moved over to the pad and typed in her pin, except that before she could enter the last number the little electric pad blinked off along with the cash register. Staring at it for a second, she looked at the cashier who looked confused as well, "What in the he..." Her voice was cut off a loud screeching noise as well as an explosion of what sounded like air. Turning around towards the glass display window she caught a glimpse of some sort of vehicle buzzing down the road. Unable to complete the transaction, she left the store and the dress almost immediately as she followed after the machine. Maybe there should of been some sort of sense of fear, but the sense of mystery overcomed it greatly. Carrie was a big fan of older cars, they had unique shapes, and builds that seperated from aerodynamic designs that made newer cars have an overly uniform feel. This vehicle however was no make she had ever seen, it looked like someone had smashed together 1940s era car with some copper plumbing and the inside of big ben, and dispite the strangeness the entirety of looked rather spectacular. It made Carrie wish she had a camera phone or something to take pictures of it and send it to half of her artsy friends as well as her sister. When it eventually stopped she made her way next to it with her hand hovering over the edge, she felt a light heat coming out of it so she didn't dare touch it but, still she glanced around following from the back then all the way to the front. The presence of two masked heroes as well as the woman bear no attention from her as she took in the whole picture of the vehicle, "Wow."
  18. What is the setting, is this in the Earth Victoriana or is it in Freedom, is the story starting there with the characters being dragged into the scene by the character your using?
  19. "Eight would be great, give's me ample time to wear these too out and get a nap in myself. Plus, it means I get back to my place and snag some fabric samples so we can disguss materials. I've just got a ton of leftover stuff from various plays hanging around my place, and sitting by my sewing machine, some of it's pretty darn nice and they just let me take it home once all the costumes are made since they don't know what else to do with it." In her mind she pictured the little overflowing box of fabrics, though she might have to buy some stuff like zippers and buttons, but other then that she could make a few good outfits without spending a dime. Glancing over at the munchkins who started to try and see if they could use the tape as a jump rope she went over and said, "So, would you guys like to go to the park now?" Instantly, they're eyes lit up again at the forgotten activity, and they went to each of her sides to tug her away from the statue, she stopped of course, and glanced over her shoulder, "So, Riverside Cafe, eight o'clock?"
  20. She stiffled a laugh at Vance's outburst about the twitter realization. He's going to have to realize at some point that superheroes are still regular people a lot of the time. Walking next to him she did say, "I don't tend to rely on twitter posts when I meet other heroes, I prefer phone numbers, they're much more personal. Plus, I don't have to given anyone much more information that way other then my rather common nickname variant, a phone that isn't listed anywhere." Looking at her watch again, she sighed, "Well we should both be going, especially if Creature Feature takes as long as he did to get here to get back home. Also, the buses stop running for in an hour, and I don't like to walk around this late at night, well at least not dressed like this."
  21. Putting the notepad away, she started to unwrap her hands and remove her padding. "No, actually I think that's enough for one night. It's getting late and I have a sneaking suspision that I just might have to get up early tomorrow." Picking up her notebook she scribbled down on the paper and handed it to the hooded teenager. "That's my number, you can call it if you want to train, or know ahead of time that your going to need help in a fight. Other than that, I don't give rides, buy alcohol, go on pretend dates, or tutor. Also, don't call me if you're dieing in an ditch, call 911." Glancing at Creature Feature she said, "All that applies to you as well."
  22. Carrie watched but barely got half a word written by the time they returned. She smiled as she approached, "Well I'm sure there's some creature and movieland you could imitate to aquire such a skill, or you could turn into a dragon we really haven't tested the size capabilities and we won't be able to try until we can get a screen portable enough to test it outside." Turning to Momentum, she pulled up her pad, "That was a very impressive display, going at that speed it seems that working close range generally won't be a problem. It'd make you excellant for distractions, though that would only be in a team type operation."
  23. Carrie took a step back as just the thought of it started to make her queasy. "Indeed, you would make an excellant distaction caught up in a grab like that, up until your captor shoots you." She added the last bit in deadpan before she started scribbling on her pad again. "You two can go ahead with demostration while I watch. Be careful not to trip though, as I experienced earlier the werewolf form is quite heavy and at high speeds might cause some real damage."
  24. "Zoom is the a drug that grants superspeed by overclocking the body, Max does something similar, except it enhances more aspects like strengh. They are both very addictive as well as dangerous since the strain can cause heart failure, this makes them tricky to fight since if you knock them out there heart might stop then and there." She scribbled in her notebook as she spoke and only stopped to give them a once over. "It seems all your powers follow a common theme, movement. Enhancing movement like running and jumping and not only you own. The ranged punch might work something like a large air gun and the stopping of movement is included as well. Overall a very useful power, though you might want to work on applying it at close range since you really could not do anything when CF grabbed you earlier."
