Power Attack time! Bless you, house rules. Ranged Attack Roll vs. Thug Two (Blast, Power Attack -2/+2) (1d20 + 8 - 2=22) DC25 Toughness save. Thug in the pocket has a DC14 Will save to get back out.

With half an ear toward the stairs, Dragonfly was still able to send a blast in the direction of the distracted thugs, no qualms about attacking while they were looking elsewhere. She did wonder just what Silhouette was up to... likely doing well - seemed competent - poor thugs - undisciplined? - could do better for themselves - will have to make do with jail now Still, the fight was going on too long for her tastes. Well, any fight was too long for her tastes - good fights were over before the enemy realized they'd started. Shield up in anticipation of more bullets heading her way, she started to do some calculations on how much extra oomph she could pull out of her gauntlets before they started to fry.

Ranged Attack Roll vs. Thug One (Blast) (1d20 + 8=21) DC23 Toughness, blahblahblah. Whee~ Darn you Dragonfly and your lack of attack variety. Should start power attacking next round so I can describe something a little different.... Thug in the pocket has a DC15 Will save to get back out.

Gaian chuckled, trying to adjust his grip. "Nothing wrong with a little criticism, miss. I promise, my ego can take it - it's certainly better than thinking I've perfected the grip...right up until someone knocks the sword out of my hand. Something tells me there are bad hands for magic swords to fall into." He glanced at Jack again and re-adjusted, getting a somewhat better feel for the hilt. "I'm not really used to holding my own arms. Let's see, here...."
  5. Oh, now come on. Seriously? Seriously. Agh. Gaian Knight put a hand on the hilt of his sword, watching the...the thing disappear. He held out hope, he really did, but then he heard 'Breschau' address Gabriel. Aw, come on. He held out his hands, each glowing with a quiet earthy gold as little cracks formed under not-Breschau's feet. "If you're in there, man, we'll get you back. ....hopefully...." From the ground multiple tendrils of rock and dirt grew upwards, trying to wrap around Breschau's form like hungry vines made of stone.
  6. Tum tee tum. Goodness I wish GK could see Breschau's character sheet. Bummer. Change of tactics. Let's not put spears of rock through our teammates, that sounds like a bad idea. Standard action: Snare 10 (Feats: Indirect 2, Obscure Senses 5 [All], Reversible) Note that this snare is indeed anchored to the earth, restricting movement...if it hits. Speaking of which: Ranged Attack Roll vs. Possessed Breschau (Snare) (1d20 + 9=13) A 4? Seriously? No. You die for a good cause, Hero Point. Or, more likely, you die pointlessly because Breschau has good reflex saves. Ranged Attack REROLL vs. Possessed Breschau (Snare) (1d20 + 9=18) More like it. 9 -> 19; 19 + 9 = an attack roll of 28. Breschau (or the Being, whoever's controlling the reflexes at the moment) has a DC20 reflex save. If he fails, he's entangled and can't move from where he stands. If he fails by five or more, he's bound helpless, can't move from the spot, and has...oh, let's say, all his senses but auditory obscured.
  7. Tilting her head, Dragonfly got that far-away focus look that meant she was running math or designs in her head. "Interesting...can think of multiple applications, besides the most obvious-" Blinking, she snapped out of her thoughts and glanced up. "Later, maybe? Admit I look forward to hearing how it turned out. If...we meet later. Of course." Dragonfly made her way to a carefully-picked seat where she'd be close enough to hear but far enough to be away from likely centers of attention, sitting down and crossing her legs, dividing her attention between watching Archeville and getting a better look at the various sorts who'd shown up today. crowd - try not to think about the numbers - focus on interesting people

"No, I mean...hm." Gaian Knight studied Jack's pose for a moment before mimicking it - not very well, but it was a start. "I'm going to need a little more wrist strength, I think," he observed. "For long fights, anyway, if I ever intend to use this thing. As for chipping...." He relaxed the pose, calmly bringing the sword up over his head and, both hands on the hilt, and brought it down on a conveniently-forming 'blade' of solid rock with considerable force. The rock was barely even harmed - a testament either to what it as made out of, or the power that made it - and the sword, when he brought it back up to eye-level, didn't have so much as a scratch. "I mean that it does not chip. Or get hurt in general. A few lucky thugs have even caught the thing with bullets; I ran it on a grindstone once for half an hour just to experiment, and the thing was as sharp as it was when I got it. It ruined the grindstone, even." Shrugging, he went back to mimicking the stance, adjusting his legs a little to better match Jack's. "Like this?"

"I find there are very few problems that can't be solved with enough rocks," Gaian replied, turning the guy back right-side-up and leaving him suspended there. "Very underestimated, these rocks." Scratching his chin through the facecloth, Gaian shook his head. "It was a gift from a magic answering machine. I honestly couldn't tell you much more than that." He drew the sword, holding it up for inspection - Jack's and his own, as he peered at it, daring it to... I don't even know. Talk, or something. That wouldn't surprise me at all. "Near as I can tell it never goes dull, it doesn't rust, it can't be chipped or broken, and only I can draw it." He paused, chuckled, and added, "Drawing it is about all I can do, though...I'm pretty awful with the thing. I only carry it with me because I never feel right if it's away for too long."

Glancing up toward the noise, Dragonfly was awfully tempted to grin. solves the question of where Silhouette went - appropriate phrase? - 'give 'em hell'? The sound of a new round of bullets headed her way brought her attention back to the fight at hand - literally at hand, she mused, as she kept the shield up with one and returned fire with the other, sending another twisting shockwave towards the miniature firing squad. "Could just give up," she suggested, though she didn't really expect a response. "Easier."

Really need to get Dragonfly another attack or two on her array...dang one-trick-pony devices. Blast time! Ranged Attack Roll vs. Thug One (Blast) (1d20 + 8=18) Assuming that hits, DC23 Toughness save. The thug in her pocket gets a DC16 Will save to get back out.

Her force field and shield are both active, yeah, from back here, I think, though it was easy to miss. With the Shield ready her defense is +10, so she's DC20 to actually land a hit on. 8, 11, and 8 won't quite make it. Defense shifting is usually pretty nice against enemies with lower attack bonuses. Really, really sucks the moment villains are attack-shifted or pull out AoE or something, though, I admit...but it's a nice advantage against low-PL enemies or minions.
  13. "Ah - yes." Dragonfly held up a gauntlet for show, eyeing it with the fondness someone usually reserves for pets...or children. "From parts and scratch. Built around a warp engine - may need to rethink name, though. Star Trek? Haven't seen much of it, but name similarity has been pointed out to me recently." "What do you - mm - do? Specialties, current projects?"
  14. Dragonfly frowned while Jessica and Archeville talked, turning the situation over in her mind. awkward to talk to her - awkward to not talk to her - secret identities - how to introduce yourself to someone you already know? - 'HELLO PERSON I'VE NEVER MET BEFORE' - right - have to say something? - might as well - not much to lose but my dignity Waiting until the good Doktor had wandered off to greet other guests, Dragonfly stood up, stretched, and extended a hand to her friend. "Hello. Don't think we've met; Dragonfly. I am, I mean."
  15. Rolling this mostly because it amuses me, and the failure would be good comedy. Bluff Roll (Master Plan) (1d20 + 1 + 2=20) The dice took pity! Mostly. In a room full of superheroes, who knows what a 20 is worth.

"Nothing wrong with a good pun," Gaian commented as he wrapped the disoriented duplicator in a few layers of stone and lifted him off the ground. "I'd probably use a pun-based name myself if I'd picked it. As for this guy...that's a good question, actually." Tilting his head, the powered professor turned his captive upside-down and held him at head level, where the guy just growled and made angry noises. "I guess he'll have time to pick one in prison? Won't you, buddy. When he gets his wits back, anyway; from what I hear that might take a bit. At least he's caught, now...can't thank you enough for you help. Er, again."

Dragonfly was never more thankful than now that she'd finally worked the kinks out of her visor; almost as soon as the first thug was pulled into her dimensional pocket her headgear lit up with a warning, outlining three heat signatures nearby. She brought up a hand, large circular shield twisting into being in front of her and turning the bullets away. "Can't hide from me. Credit for trying." Returning some fire of her own she could only hope that wherever she'd gone to, Silhouette was having more luck than she was.

    Mad Max (OOC)

Ranged Attack Roll vs. Thug (Blast) (1d20 + 8=12) ......blargh! No. Bad rolls are not for when three people are trying to kill you. Spending a HP to reroll. Ranged Attack Roll vs. Thug (Blast) (1d20 + 8=12) Reroll, so that's 15+8=23. If that hits, it's a DC23 toughness save. If I'm not mistaken Dragonfly's now down to 1 hero point. The thug in Dragonfly's Dimensional Pocket gets a DC17 Will save to try to get back out.
  19. Gaian Knight centered himself as soon as the fight broke out, reaching deep into the earth at his feet and feeling out the battle. Breschau's blow was like a ripple through the ground; Gabriel's was a lighter thrum as his sound vibrated through the pavement. He couldn't see or feel whatever the 'demon' had done after that, but he could hear its aftermath over the phone. Timing. I may be relatively new at this, but everything comes down to timing. Too early and I fall flat on my face, too late and I can't do any good. You have to make sure to move when it's just about...right. Setting his face he walked forward, straight into the wall...which exploded around him into swirling bricks and falling debris. Some of it hung in the air, orbiting behind him and around his shoulders, but but the lion's share of the bricks spun around and streamed towards the forsaken leader across the way as he calmly entered the street. And, well. It never hurts to make a good entrance.
  20. Voluntarily bringing down the continuous-duration wall, and closing distance a little. Blast time! Ranged Attack Roll vs. The Being (Autofire Blast) (1d20 + 9=23) If that hits it's a DC24 toughness save, plus whatever Autofire 1 bonus it may get.

Jerking backwards as the handle turned, Dragonfly narrowly avoided getting a door to the face, the edge of the wood whistling past her nose. The inventor's mind surged on the sudden adrenaline rush, metaphorical gears spinning up to speed; she switched her visor over to infrared before the rest of her brain even realized it was dark, her hand was moving almost by itself as the gauntlet built up a charge. As her hand touched their assailant it discharged, running little lines like creases in paper over his body. Less than a second later he began...twisting, space around him folding and warping until he'd disappeared completely where she'd made contact. For a moment there was silence and some settling dust, and Dragonfly frowned and lowered her arm. "....not a lamb. You okay? Won't hold him forever, but seemed like the best option."
  23. Initiative Roll (1d20=2) Yes, that sounds about right for GK. Go forth, at the speed of stone!

"Hey now. No need to be so insulting," the earth-mover replied, just barely keeping laughter out of his voice. "Rocks have feelings too, you know." He 'grabbed' the spinning bricks as they fell, swinging them back up into the crowd. "Siblings? That would certainly explain the banter. No one trades lines like-" Pausing, Gaian Knight turned to blink as one of the bricks caught someone in the crowd with a 'thump!', the man grunting and holding his stomach but staying on his feet. Hello, there. I'm pretty sure copies don't go 'thump'. "Well! Look who I found. Those televisions and undergarments don't really seem worth it now, do they?"

    Mad Max (OOC)

Doesn't quite hit her defense. Horray, defense-shifting! A wonderful thing...when she's not getting hit with area attacks. Or getting caught flat-footed. Or.... Melee Attack Roll vs. Thug (Dimensional Pocket) (1d20 + 8=21) If that hits the thug, it's a DC17 Reflex save to not get stuck in DAS POCKET and be removed from the fight until he can make the save to get back out. IC post pending on result.
