Considering where this thread is going, perhaps we should change how the device will start functioning? Since Rycon isn't a stubborn teenager and will agree with the Doctor's advice, maybe there should be a test of some sort while she's here that will accidentally cause the device to work, though at 15% efficiency.

OK, so to sum up all the changes to make her backstory make sense: Ashley was born in August 1993 Diagnosed with problems at age 3 (1996) September 1999 (when she was 6), doctors approached her dad about the problem. November 1999 (two months later), Ash was kidnapped and the procedure done. Presumably, when Ashley was still 6. April 2006, father caught for the experiment done 6 1/2 years ago. Does this make more sense?

Yeah... It made a little more sense when she would be 18 (her original age before I changed it to 16). There are a lot of problems on her character sheet that need to be changed or fixed, I mean A LOT.

Actually, the power change thread is here. thoughts, ideas, or criticisms would be appreciated. Also about the date, I have another thread that I'm working on with others (I decided that it will take place a day or two before she visits Dr. Archeville, if that's okay with you, though the other thread hasn't have a decided date yet), and I'm thinking all her threads are packed too tightly. I'd like her new powers in time for when she appears in the invasion, so perhaps we could make this thread sometime like May 4th or 5th?

I was talking with Shaen yesterday, and I found Rycon having a terrible power set. I originally designed with two attack types, one for multiple enemies, and another for more durable opponents (I was completely clueless about the tradeoff system, so I had little idea what I was doing) After seeing how that wouldn't work, I was thinking of rearranging her powers from this: Device 4 (Trench Coat Equipment, 19/20pp; Hard to lose) [16pp] Electrical Control 6 (Shock; Alternate Power) [13pp] AP: Teleport 10 (Atom Travel; 1000ft move action, 200000 miles full action; Feats: Change Direction, Change Velocity; Flaw: Medium [Electrical Devices]) [12pp] Immunity 1 (Sleep) [1pp] To something more like this to reflect her style of play better: Device 2 (Trench Coat Equipment, 8/10pp; Hard to lose) [8pp] Electricity Array 10 [22pp] BE: Electrical Control 4 (Autofire, Accurate 3) [20pp] AP: Teleport 10(Atom Travel; 1000ft move action, 200000 miles full action; Feats: Change Direction, Change Velocity; Flaw: Medium [Electrical Devices]) [1pp] AP: Absorption 6 (Energy; Boost-Dexterity; Energy Storage, Power Magnet; Limited-Electricity; Personal) [1pp] Immunity 1 (Sleep) [1pp] Due to the higher cost, I will have to change other parts, but I feel that this would suit Rycon better. (I designed her with stealth in mind) Any thoughts/ideas/criticisms are welcome.

Doc, I was talking on the chat about Rycon and was wondering if we could use this thread as an opportunity to change her powers. I could PM the changes if your interested. Also, there's something about the date of the thread that I would like changed.

Rycon saw the big device at the wall. "Well, this answers one of my questions," She quietly stated in a deadpan-like manner. Removing jewlery wasn't a problem for her, as she had none on her. She never liked those things, especially the piercing ones, they get in the way of combat. As she slides into the machine, she thought, "Sheesh, this better not be a cannon of some sort..." Following that, she just relaxes and let's the scanning take over. After the scan finishes, Rycon asks, "" It was all getting confusing for her. "

Rycon's eyes opened in surprise to the "Spot" in her brain. "" She tried to remember if something like that was ever there, if any scientist found out about it before. But nothing could come up. "

Uhh... I'm not sure what Rycon should say at this point. Can she see the scanner and the implant somehow? Or should I let you post again before I make another post?

Meanwhile... Rycon was looking around town, enjoying the view while looking for potential assistance at the same time. Then she remembers that she and KC don't have a reliable plan of entering yet. "Look for an entrance that's unguarded. I'll come in through stealth and figure out what to do there." She was making this up as she goes. Suddenly she looks down to see two female costumed superheroes, one looked Much taller than the other. "That tall one... Do I know her?" she thought as her mind tried to see if she could identify the tall woman.Then she realized, "KC! That's Fulcrum. Change plans, we'll meet her before we attack head on."

I make a knowledge check to see if Rycon's heard of Fulcrum or can identify her. 1d20=19 OK, Rycon knows Fulcrum.

There shouldn't be any more worrying about the story, I have the whole thing finished and sent to Chump for him to post. (You owe me!)

Hmm... actually, why not! Let's make it a bionic implant that's currently nonfunctional. Dr. Archeville can set it functioning at 15% to keep it from overloading. (The implant IS NOT is reason for her powers, but it will play an important role later on in Rycon's life)

Rycon was on the roof, almost forgetting Kid Cthulhu was sitting beside her. They have been good friends for awhile now, unsuprising, considering he was the first superhero Rycon met. Lately though he's been around her more than usual... The line didn't quite get to her. She was focused hard on this book she had to read for school. It was a fascinating read, yet terrifying all the same. The main character suffered a born tragedy much like Ashley, found a cure... and then suffered shocking consequences, that would turn him back into what he was before. It was made so realistic, Rycon couldn't do anything but wonder if she would suffer the same fate. She thought, "It's all fantasy, it's all make believe, IT'S. NOT. REAL! She heard KC spoke as she broke down on the inside, but it didn't reach her clearly. Hearing that from the parked police car just below them got her away from the book, "Airship? Cops?! Danielle?!?! She was clearly overreacting, possibly due to the influence of the book. She walks near the edge and turns to KC. "Come on, let's hurry! Bring me down! She was implying that KC would carry her down to ground level.

What Dr. Archeville finds in her brain on a basic scan is a small part that is not functioning. This part is actually not natural, it was 'created' you could say, by her brain (it'll be small enough to be seen by whatever the Doctor is using). A more thorough scan reveals that (including what's been said above) it's connected to the part of the brain that sends waves to the muscles to react to the body, which is the main source of her powers. The Doc can slightly tinker with it to have it begin functioning at say... 15%. This way it allows her brain to grow without the chance of overloading too quickly. (OOC Note: The 15% is to reflect how often I will be giving her extra pp throughout her time here, since she has her trenchcoat equipment and all her other stats to work with.)

Rycon had a smile of confidence on her face, "" She sits up on the table and lies down, closing her eyes. She is no stranger to these examinations, "" She remembers all the examinations about her body, how scientists tried to figure out how her powers worked in public conventions, somehow evading authorities, and making themselves and her look like fools and fakes when nothing new could be found out. Dr. Archeville was different, he found things out, he discovered the source of her powers. He did it away from prying eyes, and Ashley had no idea how he did it... And then her father was arrested.

I'm not all familiar with the differences between 1e and 2e, could someone enlighten me please?. Regardless, I'll watch the info on 3e with great interest.

Oh, Whoops. There we're about seven scientists who preformed on her, but as of now, only three are significant. Her father Rycnov, the Head Scientist Anluk, and the Vice-Head Scientist Conveir.

OK, just to state here that Ashley/Rycon is against the whole Nazi thing that happened, and is against anyone who is Neo-Nazi-ish (Not to say you or anyone else here are of course). How about we say Ashley only knows that Dr. Archeville has had... major family issues.

Rycon leaned back a little to relax a bit. "" She puts her hands down to her sides, and focused as her hands start to glow with electricity. As she focuses more and tensed her muscles, the electricity slowly grows bigger, until they refuse to grow any further. Rycon let her body relax as the electricity retreats back into her body.
