  1. Ironclad titled her head, looking the visored woman up and down, really looking at her for the first time since battle had been joined. Short, slim, with blonde hair; impossible to tell what her eyes looked like underneath the visor. And if her gear was hand-built, or at least self-designed, she might have more in common with Jessica than the girl had first assumed. Still, that didn't solve their immediate problem. "How'd you track me down," Ironclad asked, mostly making conversation. "I had just caught up with the folks who had the case myself."
  2. Ironclad floated down until her feet touched concrete. "You don't even know what was in the case? Why were you so interested in it, then?"
  3. Ironclad held her hands up suddenly, going very still. Damn. Freaking villains taking each other hostile. "Alright! Just... don't hurt her, okay?" She walked to the curb and slowly, carefully set the metal case in the street. Glaring at the suited man from behind her helmet, she silently drifted up and over to the one of the buildings overlooking the street. The suited man leaned very close and put a peck on the cheek of the woman in his grip. "Such a pliant human shield. It's so much more fun than when they wiggle." In a blur, he was bending next to the case. He picked it up, blurred, and was gone. Swearing loudly, Ironclad floated from her perch over to where the visored woman was still standing. She didn't land, staying well out of arm's reach. "Well, that sucked," she announced to the world at large.
  4. The suited man dodged easily to the side of the dimensional blast, suddenly appearing on the other side of the woman and repeating his flurry of too-quick-to-see punches. As his target staggered away in disorientation, he frowned between the two women. "You blasted heroes don't go down easily." Across the street, Ironclad's suit shifted again and she aimed another shot between the suited man and the visored woman. "I'm the hero," she clarified. "She's the villain! I beat her, take her stuff! That's how this dynamic works!" The suited man glanced between Ironclad and the other woman, a slow smile growing over his features. "Yes, it is, isn't it?" With another blur of motion he was behind the visored woman, pulling her to her tip-toes, his hands bending her neck at an acute angle. "So here's how it's going to go. You put that that case on the ground and fly up to, oh, the top of a building, or I break the girl's neck. Understood?"
  5. Clad's attack on the DeM. 1d20+7=22 Juuuuust misses. DeM's grapple check vs Fly. 1d20+14=18 Which I'm pretty sure succeeds.
  6. DeM's Att vs Fly. 1d20+10=25 Hit, 7 over. DC 32 Toughness save, Fox.
  7. Robin puts her Intimidate to good use on a hapless civilian. 1d20+11=22
  8. Robin eyed the man with the burned hand, looking between him and the store. It was obvious he wasn't telling her the whole story, but there were more important problems at hand. She whirling her coat dramatically, fanning out the tails and slipping it on her shoulders again, before snatching up her staff and waving it threateningly at him. She channeled just a touch of magical energy through the staff, just enough to light the very tip, underlighting her angular face. "There's more important things than you trashing this store," she said. "But the police are out in force. And I imagine they're going to be very short-tempered with any looters. Understand me?"
  9. Ironclad would've shrugged, but with the lifting servos engaged that wasn't really an option. "Doesn't matter," she said. "I'm taking this to the police. Now, sir, if you'd move out of the way, I have a villain to subdue." The suited man gave an overdramatic sigh, then he blurred and was suddenly standing in front of the armored heroine. His fists swung too fast to be seen as he swung a dozen punches at her in the space of a few seconds. Ironclad staggered back from the force the blow, but once she got her feet underneath her the heroine swung the vehicle straight down, like a hammer. The suited man blurred again and was suddenly standing next to the visored woman. "You'll have to swing faster than that," he sneered.
  10. In order to prove my deus ex machina in not in my favor, he attacks Clad first. Attack with Autofire 3. 1d20+10=17 O.O Well, he rolled poorly, at least. Still, +2 Dam w/ Strike 10, so 27 Dam. Clad's Toughness roll. 1d20+8=27 O.O Where were these earlier!? Iornclad's retaliation 1d20++7=18 She whiffs, at least. This was going to be a very short-lived deus ex machina.
  11. Ability bonuses are off. Check the book for exact ones, but the formula is: Ability Score minus 10, divided by 2. Ini is based off Dex, so that's off. You still don't hit caps with your Attack; moreover, you listed your trade-off as -3 Att, but here Att is only 1 under the cap. And w/ 1 rank in Dodge Focus, you should have +13 Def, not +12. Not sure where that total line came from, either, since it's way off. Too far off to contemplate. Where does +12 Wis come from? Or +5 Dex? Where are those other 4 pts of Toughness coming from? That's 13 PP in skills; make sure you list that. And you'll need to refigure things with your new ability scores. Kudos, though, on using your ranks to their fullest. Feats are still good, though I'd question some choices, here. *Winces* Uh, look how I had it formatted. The way it is here, it makes it look like all these powers are independent, when in fact your 2-D form is an Alternate Form. Still haven't answered my question in regards to this. What last part? The Drawbacks? The combat section? Only used 14 pts for Abilities, not 16. Combat is 36 pts, not 17. Your listed saves only use 17 pts, but, well, see what I have to say in that section. Skills are good; feats are good; powers need a different formatting, but other than that are good. I count 105 pts used, and this is nowhere near optimized, so there's probably room for improvement.
  12. First things first: The character concept is interesting. Character who can turn 2-D? Don't think I've ever seen it exploited on these boards, so kudos for a new idea. However, there's a lot of things that need fixing with this app. First, this needs to be put into proper format. Why does a 24-year old woman have the same strength as a child? A young child at that? I'd put it at 8, at the very least. And why are her mental scores so low? Defense is bought at 2 PP per rank, so +13 Def would cost 26 PP, not 13. Also, there's some advice that can be given about odd-numbered Def and hitting caps, but let's get the formatting down, first. Oh, and no Attack!? That's gotta change. Need to list where all these numbers are coming from. Saves are just a touch low; I'd boost Will by another couple of points. No point in listing skills that your character has no ranks in, and no point in having a number of skill ranks that isn't divisible by 4. Again, factor in your ability bonuses. Diehard's a bonus on these boards, but if you want to list it for completeness, by my guest. Factoring in that, this is actually counted up properly. Though, again c.f. listing where all modifiers come from. You have Dodge Focus 1, which means you only bought 12 pts of Def, not 13. Again, no point in listing Equipment if you don't have any. I honestly have no idea what you're trying to do here. You don't list how many ranks you have in Shapeshift, so I can't look at that. Format is, once again, off. I have no idea what "Benefit 2 (Cannot be Trampled or Beatened)" means, and it sounds like Immunity anyway. And Reversible doesn't make sense as a Power Feat here. Unless it's Permanent, you would be able to reverse this anyway; and if it was permanent, there'd be no way to reverse it at all short of Nullify. Oh, and Escape Artist is a skill, not a feat. Rebuilt version using Ultimate Power. Dimensional Control (2-D Form) [19 PP] Insubstantial 1 (Flaw: Limited [To width]) [4 PP] Concealment 4 (All visual senses; Flaw: Limited [To one side]) [4 PP] Enhanced Feat 11 (Elusive Target, Evasion 2, Hide in Plain Sight, Improved Block, Improved Defense 2, Sneak Attack 4] [11 PP]

    Iroclad v. 3E

So, partly for practice and partly in preparation for the eventual switch, I'm rebuiliding my current toons in 3E. First on the block is Ironclad. This version is slightly simplified from the one of the board. Moreover, it is both Damage and Toughness shifted, so it's not a straight conversion. Lastly, bear in mind that this is just Ironclad rebuilt; I'm not going to build Mal for 3E just yet. 15. The shot was poorly-aimed and she ducked to the side easily. Even if her opponent hadn't gone down, Ironclad was willing to call the tactic a success. She'd never tried it before, and she supposed she could take out the visored woman by constantly popping out of solid objects, but the heroine still had no idea whats was in the case, and without knowing that she couldn't guess how it would react to the Phantom Generator. Nothing had happened the first time, but there was no way of telling what would happen next time. Besides, there were easier ways to fight. Ironclad marched over to an empty car and lifted it with one hand, the case dangling from her free hand. She prepared to throw the car at the visored woman when a polite cough interrupted them. Ironclad's peripheral sensors showed a man in a loose business suit walking up the middle of the street. "I do hate to interrupt a good fight just as it's starting, but at this rate you're going to damage my employer's goods. And I just can't allow that." He stopped directly between Ironclad and the visored woman, smiling at them both in turn. The heroine was put off by this sudden interloper, the vehicle still held over her head in one hand. She stepped to the side so that she had a clear line of sight to the other woman and called over to her, "Is he with you?"
  16. Attack 1d20+6=16 I think we can assume that Dragonfly's flat-footed, neh? In that case, DC 22 Toughness.
  17. Freedom City's history was a long one; the city had been one of the first settlements in the New World, and was fairly modern for its time. What that meant today was that many of the city's older districts, like the Waterfront, had wide, vaulted sewers running underneath. Ironclad was glad for that. Her suit would let her 'swim' through solid earth easily enough and her suit had an internal air supply, but she didn't want to try and blunder through blindly. Instead, she found the proper spot and rose behind her visored foe, grinning under her helmet. It took but a moment for her suit to switch configurations, and another moment for the suit's targeting systems to lock on. Her own blaster hummed as it spun up, and then she blasted away.
  18. Switching to the Phantom suit, running through walls.
  19. Ironclad was quietly pleased that her groundstrike had worked, since she'd never tried it in combat before. Still, it was apparent that just trading blows wasn't working out in her favor; she had to get sneaky. She blink-clicked to a different configuration, and her suit shifted to a black-and-silver coloration. Turning, she dashed at a nearby building -- and disappeared inside without so much as raising the dust on the wall. The building seemed mostly deserted, and the heroine moved easily through the structure, phasing through the interior. She trusted her suit to keep her oriented on the visored woman. If Ironclad could surprise her and catch her off guard, she might get in one good hit and be able to finish this.
  20. Ironclad felt another cold burst of dimension-distorting energy passed through her, and for a moment wondered if she was going to pass out again. Instead, she managed to shrug off the odd tingling in her limbs and turned to face her attacker again. This time though, instead of aiming a blow at the girl, she stuck the ground between them. The heroine's super-powered blows caused a localized earthquake, making the ground shake and jump beneath both women's feet.
  21. Toughness 1d20+8=10 Apparently a near critical hit and a near critical failure DO make a knocked-out hero. HP to re-roll that. 1d20+8=14 6 + 10 is 16. +8 is 24. Beats the hit easily. Strength check 1d20+7=16 DC 16 Ref check for Fly, or she's prone.
  22. Ironclad absently noted down the frequency Fusion tossed out on the margins of her work. She turned her head and stuck her tongue out at Valkyrie, taking advantage of the cover provided by her helmet. "It's not mimicry," she said. "It's an internal notepad. And it's private. Besides, if you're willing to accept 'the gods did it,' why do are you worried if I investigate? I should find the gods at the end of my research." She turned by to her notes, muttering under her breath, "Sitting on a golden throne like as not."
  23. Ironclad's armor took the shot, flexing slightly to disperse the blow, but some of it managed to get through. It wasn't like anything she'd encountered before in her short career -- certainly not a physical blow, but not quite a form of energy, either. It was more like, just for a second, her various bits didn't line up properly. It was a thoroughly unpleasant feeling, and it left her feeling a bit shaky on her feet. Don't know who this woman is, Ironclad decided, but she can't be allowed to just throw something like this around! The powered armor superhero charged again, not looking to land a punch this time but more interested in getting her opponent in a grapple. There, her suit's augmented strength would tell.
  24. Toughness 1d20+9=19 Ewie. Still, not as bad as things could be, considering that Dragonfly's shooting bits of fractured reality at her. Attack with the PAWNCH! 1d20+7=12 Also, since it seems like we need it. DRAGONFLY --- 12 --- Undamaged --- HPx1 IRONCLAD -- 7 --- Bruised --- HP
  25. Ironclad gave a small shake of her head. "I've seen bigger guns than that," she informed the visored woman in front of her -- and spun with surprising speed, rotating her hips to put her body between this new threat and the case. At the same time her fist came up, aiming a blow at her enemies' head!
