    Utsuwa rolled his eyes, "Makin it weird Ryder."  he countered and snatched his bag to pop open his own container as they happened upon a picnic table and he dropped into a seat, "You spill that I'm not sharing."  

     

    "Yea I wasn't about to just let people get hurt I'm just saying ..."  he shrugged, "If she does go ballistic I can handle it no reason for both of us to end up in super detention."  he let out a small sign and took a bite smiling slightly at the actually quite flavorful if slightly luke warm lentils.  "Anyway you're probably right she'll just make some pointed PA announcement anyway."  he finally agreed and continued to eat slightly hunched over the container as if concerned someone might grab at it at any moment. 

     

    The hunched shoulders and downcast eyes focused on what was before him was not a departure from his usual manner of eating in the dinning hall, though in these surroundings it was perhaps even more out of place.   "You were right though this is actually pretty tasty."

    Utsuwa took his container with a shrug, "I was thinking number ten extra spicy."  he teased back as he followed behind before anyone started to ask what they'd seen.  "Maybe it's a test and you passed."  he dead paned as they shuffled past the crowd and hopefully evaded any uncomfortable questions from passerby.  

     

    Dropping his voice he leaned in closer to mention in a hushed whisper, "So.  Word might get around."  he pointed out carefully, "I don't know about you but I know the headmaster will put two and two together when a description of that armor showing up in town starts circulating."

    "The mysteries of the infinite."  Jolan Zal Na'ar intoned formally from his seat, the simple robes of the ascetic followers of the Order of the Celestial Path draped over his form as he sat in meditive repose.  "Yes a thing of beauty and no small danger if these reports are accurate."

     

    The Star Ranger he'd arrived with took another long drink of the caffeinated beverage she'd brought from her ship and scowled down at the display, "I know the damn thing gives me a headache what's that count for?"  she grumbled grumpily.  "Are we talking rescue or research here?  Thing seemed stable enough to send people in I assume you sent probes first?"

    Fa'Rua watched the exchange between Pan and Danica violet gaze bouncing from one to the the other and raised a brow to Ashley silently asking if this was for real.  Yes the animate elephant statue coming back to rest she took in stride but this distress over the absent Segway and the earnest if delusional fear of it's sentient return was the step too far.  

     

    Jolan guided the children to the ship and ensured they were safely ensconced with only a small backwards glance at the upset young avatar and a small nod of self assurance that her distress would be short lived.  He made his way back to Fa'Rua and Ashley looking between them with a bemused smile, "Yes Ranger Zal Na'ar I'm sure would be happy to liaise."  he said pointedly because being a mindful aesthetic monk did not mean one simply stopped harassing ones sister about the new paramour.

     

    "Stow it Jolan."  came the rangers dry response and shook her head, "Uh that isn't a thing that happens right?"  she clarified with Ashley as the one thing she had learned about Terrans was that one should not assume their outlandish delusions were untrue simply because they were impossible.

    "The exceptions that prove the rule."  Utsuwa replied with a grin.

     

    The athletic teen shook his head, "My knowledge of demons and ghosts i more personal than practical."  He admitted with a sigh, "But of what I do know,"  his head shook from side to side as he shrugged, "That looked more like someone trying to make a thing look like a demon or ghost than an actual specter." 

     

    "The music was weird,"  Utsawa agreed running a hand through his hair to straighten it, "Related you think?"  but then the food was brought up and his stomach rumbled at the reminder, "UH you think they did?"  He asked as he started to jog around the side toward the lentil shop, "There is an old saying in my country,"  he suggested over his shoulder, "Nothing feeds the mind like cold lentils." Which certainly sounded like something he just made up but probably would not be believed by anyone with more than passing familiarity with his homeland.

    "No one was harmed."  Kensei assured the man and glanced to Chitin as he leapt away, "Well not much."  he added wryly before vaulting to an awning then ledge to acrobatically parkour his way up the side of the building and across the roof.  Joining Ryder in the alley he let his spectral raiment fade into the either once more as if consumed by the ghostly flames that limned it.

     

    "I think I begin to see why you never get anywhere on time Ryder."  he teased playfully and shook his head, "You ever see anything like that?"

    Kensei shot Chitin a warning glance, "Nooo, don't you start."  he warned like a total buzzkill. 

     

    He examined the man for a few minutes longer, "Perhaps that would be for the best."  he agreed and glanced from Chitin to hte man uncertainly as the sirens grew closer, "This hasn't happened before?"  he questioned not entirely certain how to proceed.  "The police will likely have questions and ..."  he was not exactly dressed like a friendly if FCPD showed up.

    Whirling the flashlight in one hand before returning it to her belt Fa'Rua flashed a smile to Pan, "Well I guess you're alright then but I got my eye on you."  she replied to Pan with a laugh and nodded reassuringly to Ashley, "With the diaspora there are ships of all kinds we've gotten pretty good at tracking down this sort of thing."  she said with a hint of sadness.  "We'll get them home."  She reiterated, "Might need to get your full report later though."  she warned flirtatiously.

     

    "If you don't feel you'd be safe with your parents we can find a suitable family member."  Jolan assured the boy with a soft smile only to have his words of comfort interrupted by his sister shouting over her shoulder, "Then your parents are already in the system it'll be easy."  The monk let out a small sigh, "We will ensure you are returned to your people regardless the Lor Republic is not in the habit of absconding with peoples children."

     

    Fa'Rua's eyes narrowed at the mention of the Sterlarian.  "This does seem like their kind of action."  She sighed and flashed an apologetic smile Judy's way, "No offense but that side of the family is a bit,"  she paused looking for the English word, "Douchy?"  she suggested looking to Ashley for confirmation.  "Most Stelarains are not emotionally invested in anything that isn't doing what they want in any given moment."

     

    Jolan frowned at Danicas distressed outburst, "Ah that is unfortunate,"  he offered with genuine concern, "We can file a missing property report for you, it is unlikely but should it fall into Republic hands we would be able to return it."

     

    "Slow you're roll there hoss."  Fa'Rua held a finger Pans direction to pause the boys impulse.  "If there was a stellarian on board they and the ship are long gone."  She nodded to Ashley, "Even if it's taking the ship with it it'll travel faster than almost anything we have available."  unless Fa'Rua knew the destination and ported them there that was.

    Kensei sheathed his ghostly blades and took a step back as Chitin arrived.  Arms crossed and leaning on a stuck car he watch the man rise somewhat incredulously.

     

    "You often pass out and shed a neon electric rage monster to terrorize the block?"  he asked flatly and glanced to Chitin, "Or maybe someone would send something like that after you?"  he added with a shrug, "So victim or perpetrator?  I think I must've skipped that day."  he asked with a small shrug he genuinely didn't trust the sudden shift in mood but nothing in his demeanor suggested a lie.

     

    "Regardless."  he stated stepping into the mans path, "I think you're gonna need to give a statement or something."  he looked over the mans shoulders toward Chitin with a small shrug he really wasn't sure what the protocol was here usually he just vanished into the night and left the perp tied to a bike rack or something.

    Kensei slowly turned after the dismount and explosion to regard the scorch mark quizzically, "I am almost certain it was far cooler without out us looking back."  He explained with a rare smile, "Nice moves by the way, showy, but effective."  he critiqued deadpan.  Peering back down the street he tapped Ryders shoulder, "We should check on that guy now that the monster isn't trying to smash everything."  he suggested and crouched preparing to leap, "And no I am not calling it that."  he added before Ryder could insist on the name he'd given the creature.

     

    Bounding down the street to the original scene he let his spectral aura flare as he regarded the crowd, "Give him space."  he insisted as he crouched and carefully looked for signs of breathing.  "I don't think he's dead."  was about all the crimson samurai could offer to Ryder when he arrived.

    Jolan bowed low to Danica as she came to the entrance, "Yes we are here to ensure they are reunited with their families."  he explained calmly, "Thank you for your service in keeping them safe."  the monk intoned diplomatically as he watched the children file out.

     

    "What can I say I enjoy the view."  Fa'Rua replied with a saucy wink.  She looked at the unusual conveyance, "Your efforts to one up my ride every time we meet are really getting out of hand."  she teased and smiled to Judy, "Ju'Deth!  You look, well, there is a glow."  the Lor ranger joked playfully, "Happier though it's a good look."

     

    Jolan looked to the child who spoke and shook his head, "Oh no we are equipped with comfortable berths for you all and able to modify to any unusual requirements."  he assured them earnestly.  "You'll be take to the nearest starbase and we'll track down your families, you'll all be home soon."  he promised openly without a doubt in his mind they would manage just that.

     

    Fa'Rua shook her head to Judy, "No one's in trouble as far as I'm concerned."  she assured them both with a small shrug, "We'll make sure they get home don't you worry."  she promised solemnly as well.  She spared a glance to Pan and gave a small nod, "Fa'Rua Lor Republic Star Ranger corps."  she introduced extending a hand, "And you are a perceptive one, keep it under your hat Smith here is in deep cover."  she advised half joking as she glanced at Ashley, "Or is it finally Agent Tran?"  She asked curiously and shrugged, "I can hit him  with the neuralizer if you need."  she offered pulling a metal cylinder from her belt with a small glowing ring on one end, a cylinder Ashley would recognize as a flashlight from one of their earlier meet ups.

    "I think I hear what you are laying down."  Kensei replied a fierce grin beneath his spectral mempo.  The ghostly flames around his form flared brighter as he dove in toward the creature ahead of Chitins charged kick.  "Lets finish this."  he growled fiercely. planting his feet on each side of the creatures neck.  The spectral samurai reversed the grip on the ghastly katana stabbing down on the creatures exposed crown planting the blade right between the Ragins eyes marking a clear target for Chitins incoming blow.

    Even without the chime of her phone Ashley would have had a good idea exactly who was in the cockpit of that bird.  Not many others in Lor space were willing to come in quite that hot on a theoretically pre-space faring planet.  The fiery arc of the de-orbit burn gave way to the glinting hull of the familiar ship as it swooped into the landing zone at speed.  Pulling up and deploying landing gear at the last second the ship kissed the ground with a surprisingly light touch and little more than a pleasant breeze from the retro thrusters as she came to a rest.

     

    A cargo ramp deployed from the underbelly with a hiss of depressurization and a small cloud of condensation as the pressures within and without equalized.  Out of hte fog emerged a familiar pair, one in formal appearing robes the other in a skin tight flight suit in light blue.  The standard issue rfid emitter on her belt would identify her as Star Ranger Fa'Rua Zal Na'ar to those tuned to the correct frequencies, the silver star that housed it was a custom affectation.

     

    "Jolan check in on the kids."  Fa'rua ordered her brother who was in fact much better suited the task, "I'll liaise with the local law enforcement."  

     

    Jolan hustled down the ramp at his sisters suggestion and paused looking about for a moment before smiling wide at the shell, "Oh marvelous!"  he intoned with genuine reverence.  Taking a few steps toward it he gently knocked, "Ah, excuse me enlightened one may we beg entrance?"  he intoned formally having at least some experience dealing with perhaps slightly more mature spiritual beings.

     

    Swaggering down the ramp Fa' Rua made a bee line for Ashley, "Told ya I'd stick around the neighborhood."

    Kensei whirled away as the Ragin reared diving free of the shockwave and rolling to his feet in one smooth motion.  He rolled his eyes and gave his roommate a thumbs up in return, "Great time to test it."  he deadpanned in reply.  He watched the creature as it focused now on him and leapt out of the way as if evading it's next attack.  As soon as his feet hit the ground he changed direction and vaulted up the nearby wall to launch himself from the second floor ledge in a spinning dive.  His ghostly katana now in a vicious two handed grip he drove it down across the back of the the creatures neck in a cleaving blow.

    "Unfortunately I do."  Kensei replied to the terrible pun though keeping his eyes on the creature at least saved his room mate the baleful glare that he might otherwise have earned.  He jumped to the side rebounding off the wall of a building to build momentum in his next attack only for the creature to flee.

     

    "Can't fault it's strategy."  he admitted, "We were going to kick its ..."  A car horn blared cutting off the final word of his quip as the snarled traffic around them grew worse.  Bounding to the top of one stopped car then leaping from one to the next in pursuit of the Ragin Kensei banished the spectral blades form his hands and leapt to swing from a street sign and flip through the air gaining on and passing the Ragin to cut off it's likely route of escaped and hopefully herd the rampaging demon back towards Chitin.
