  1. Chris sat at the front of the bus, the Pitchoo's remote in his hand. "Autopilot... on. Track remote... And... DONE!" he muttered to himself, before turning round to the other students on the bus. "Hey! I'm Chris, or Geckoman since I've got the costume on, who are all you guys?"
  2. Geckoman came back from the back of the ship, wondering why it hadn't moved. They all seemed to be on the bus... "Dammit, they're waiting for me. Why? Hell, Duncan Summers caught me because of this thing. Then again, that may be why he wants me to take the bus..." He turned off the autopilot and grabbed a coat to put on over his costume, stuffing his mask and goggles into the pocket. He flipped open the exit hatch in the back, unfurling the rope ladder and sliding down it. A few buttons tapped on the remote later, and he was slowly flying in towards the ground, rolling off as the Pitchoo flew back up again, the ladder coiling back up ino the ship and the door closing. "Yo, are you guys waiting for a Chris Kenzie?"
  3. "So how does it work whn you're in charge? Does she just wake up not remembering anything?"
  4. The Pitchoo hovered under cloud cover, it's engines buzzing faintly as some super-science engine toiled away on making the machine work. The owner had never quite figured out what ran it, but it didn't seem to have needed refueling yet. Chris Kenzie lounged around in the pilot seat, on the phone to his mother. "Yes, mom... No, Mr. Summers is inviting me to his school! C'mon, would he ask to speak to you if he was abducting me? Really?" He slapped his forehead and sighed. "No, mom, I am not sighing. No, really, I'm not. Really." He glanced out of the window to the airport below. Some guy was the centre of attention of two girls, one in a garish supersuit and the other in a rather hot outfit... Hmmm. They did look a lot like Claremont students, didn't they? The interviews must be when they get there, then. "Yeah, mom? Can I call you back, I have to go up to the school... Yes, I'll take care." He brought the bus up on the radar, and pulled the Pitchoo up into cloud cover. "Music... let's have some music," muttered Chris to himself, bringing up Media Player on one of the console screens. Hmmm... System of a Down's Toxicity was a good album. He clicked play and wandered up back to one of the cupboards he'd figured out how to open. He began donning the green jumpsuit, belt and mask stashed away in there...
  5. "Hey, intensive training is the way to go. World-class superheroes like The Raven and Bowman are able to hang with people like Lady Liberty and Captain Thunder simply due to having practiced and practiced until they are stupidly well-trained. Like they say, practice makes perfect." "Not to go off on a rant, that's actually one of my pet peeves. Nothing is stopping most superpowered heroes from being as highly trained and skilledas the non-powered ones, but very few of them are. They shouldn't rely so heavily on their powers."
  6. Hey, since Geckoman just got approved and is going to be in this Claremont supergroup, would any of you mind if he slipped in here rather than bother a DM with yet another thread doing basically the same thing?
  7. "Well, I've never technically met her, and I'm twice her physical age so 'princess' wouldn't be the best idea anyway." "So, anyway, what's your plans for the future now?"
  8. "1933 years is a long time... what did the item you were bound to do for all that time? Languish in a box? And now we've got an ancient Amazonian singing in bars and clubs rather than in legends..." He let out a small chuckle. "Well, the lack of surprise on my part really shows off my age, doesn't it?"
  9. "So you were cursed and bound into a single item then? Damn, is there no way to reverse that?" Then a thought occurs to him. "But this was a long time ago, so this girl must be linked somehow to that princess in order so that she can use the item, correct?"
  10. Oh yeah... don't have any of those skills or feats, so I didn't miss anything.
  11. What skill checks? Did I miss a post?
  12. "Great? Nah, I'm not a Freedom Leaguer, I don't save the world on my lunchbreak and thwart alien invasions on my afternoon shift." "Yeah, a story for a story is only fair," he smiles at Lullaby.
  13. "Fair enough," he nodded, before smiling at the next question. "A lot of them, yeah." After a moment's thought, he picks one. "A few years ago, I ended up in Belfast chasing a drugs shipment. I was going round the place, trying to get information. Didn't find any, until I met a bloke calling himself Rhymer. If you know anything about the magic community, you'll have heard of the man, simply terrifies any mage you mention his name to, but at the time I was clueless. So he says to me 'I'll lead you to these guys if you help me out with a canine problem I'm having.' Fair enough, the guy's looking into a dog-fighting ring. He leads me to this warehouse full of men, and then hands me silver-tipped arrows. That shouldv'e tipped me off, but nooo, I drop from the rafters into the middle of a pack of werewolves. If he hadn't given me the arrows or they hadn't been in the process of transforming, I'd've been mauled to death quickly. As it was, I barely got out alive." He takes a sip of coffee, before continuing. "So I leave the warehouse, shouting for this Rhymer. Well, shouting at him, but he'd gone and buggered off, leaving me with a warehouse full of half-naked guys who'd reverted back from wolf form. Out of curiosity, I open the crates... to find my drugs shipment." He smiled at the memory. "Damn that Thomas Rhymer, I found out a lot about him the weeks after that. Barely anyone outside the magical community knows who he is, but he's saved our ass more times than the Master Mage, arsehole he may be."
  14. "Hurting, yes. Thing is, I take it better than you," smirked Arrowhawk, putting a blunt arrow in between the man's eyes and laying him out. "Told ya!" he laughed as he leapt over the man's prone body and into the doorway behind him.
  15. No, I'm talking about 8 years in the past, and in the UK. I ask because you said 'in and around' Freedom City, so wasn't sure how relevant it was supposed to be to current events.
  16. Would it have to be within a certain timeframe and area? I was considering doing a milestone, like Hawky's thirtieth, but that's eight years and an cross-Atlantic journey ago... Or alternately, retconning Arrowhawk's birthday to match mine would place him idealy within Freedom for his thirty-eighth...
  17. Damn this, Arrowhawk is not having a good day today. First he gets Injured, then fails to knock the thug out...
  18. Even as he moved with the impact, Arrowhawk felt the bullet rip through his vest and bite into his shoulder, gritting his teeth to avoid shouting out in pain. It was all he could do to avoid the grasps of the men, hitting one of the men with a solid punch to the face. It wasn't quite hard enough to take him down, so Arrowhawk moved a few feet away to keep both the north and south attackers an equal distance away.
  19. "Humour me. I've been doing this for eighteen years, there's an incredibly high chance that I've run into something much more convoluted." Arrowhawk stirs his coffee before taking a large gulp of the hot liquid. "It's pretty much a given, to be honest," he frowned.
  20. Costumed adventuring is how I've been rresponding to it as.
  21. Well, the 'Autofire on everything' wasn't my suggestion, so I don't know. My original request was to have an alternate power feat for the array within his bow device as part of the character's abilities rather than in the Device container. So his Device would look as follows: Device 3 (Easy to Lose; Bow and trick arrows): 9 pp Alternate power 1 for Bow array: 1 pp Devices: Bow & Arrows Blast 3 (Feats: Improved Critical, Mighty 3, Variable Descriptor [bludgeoning/piercing/slashing]) Normal, blunt and bladed arrows AP: Fatigue 4 (Extras: Ranged) Tranquiliser arrows AP: Nullify 5 (technology descriptor) EMP arrows AP: Obscure 5 (visual; 100’ radius, Extras: Independent) Smokebomb arrows AP: Stun 4 (Extras: Ranged) Taser arrows AP (outwith Device): Blast 3 (Extras: Autofire, Flaws: Full-round action, feats: Mighty 2, Variable Descriptor [bludgeoning/piercing/slashing]) Rapid Shot Therefore, anyone who gets his bow and quiver wouldn't gain access to rapid shooting, but Arrowhawk is able to do it but can't without his bow, hence the feat costing slightly more than it would as part of an Easy to Lose device.
  22. Hold on a fingerlicking minute here, thought Arrowhawk. "When you say she needs to be told the truth, do you mean she's unaware of you or something you've done? And what does a being two millenia old need with a young singer?"
  23. "No, I don't mind. I quite fancy a coffee." As they walked there, he thoght he should make small talk. "So, how long have you been singing for?"
