  1. Surprisingly, Lynn's transformation draws less of a reaction from her grandfather than the admission that she will be? is? his granddaughter. He opens the door for her.

"Let's hope there's something here, anyway," he says. He flips on a light inside, allowing Lynn to see what things are still there. Most everything has been packed away in black suitcases and trunks. There's a layer of dust over everything in the room; it looks like Mr. Silberman hasn't been back here in some time. There's also a sheet flung over something against one of the walls. It feels... odd to Lynn, almost like it's a smell that she can't identify, or an itch she can't scratch.

Lynn peers around for a few moments, looking over all the trunks and such, but her eyes keep going back to the mysterious covered object; at length, she sighs, cocks her hat to one side, and strides over to it.

"Who can resist pulling a sheet off?" She yanks it free, filled with a mixture of hope and dread.

  3. Updated Grimalkin's character sheet. It's a matter of descriptors for the Protection, but it is always there, so you offer a little more resistance to things like needles than you otherwise would. It doesn't really have a game effect since it's not Impervious, but it's a good thing to describe if it comes up.

Ok, so not breaking them like Superman, but a bit more effort to push them in to draw blood and the like.

  5. The scene Faye encounters outside is, well, pandemonium, i.e her kind of party, but normally she prefers this kind of action when her skull isn't actively on fire.

Christ, I'm going to feel all this in the morning.

Since she doesn't know a spell off the top of her head to sober up, it takes a bit for Faye to sort it all out, but it seems there's a demon fighting the local constabulary and handing it its collective arse, and now the cape-and-tights crowd has of course shown up, and some eejit is screaming about the Egyptian pantheon at the top of his lungs and inside her head. Normally she wouldn't really care about this kind of nonsense, but the Queen is now official grumpy.

Without saying a word, Faye stomps on over to the fracas, her fingers wriggling like a nest of snakes, and does her best to zap the offending demon with a gout of crimson flame so she can go back inside and settle her tab.

  7. Okay, I think I'll drop my last two PP into straight-up Protection, and just say Grim's body now has the ability to sort of toughen up on impact or when damaged, so she isn't leather-skinned all the time :P

  9. Here's my spending for Grim:

Point 1: Adding Protection 12 (can I go that high?) to Morph as an Alternate Power, with Sustained/Free action (+0 Extra)

Point 2: Adding another rank to Attack Specialization (Strike)

Point 3: 1 Rank of Takedown Attack

Ooh, would I be able to sustain Protection and Blending at the same time? If not, it might still be worth it.

  11. Red Queen was plastered at the bar, with a pint of Guiness being offered by the bartender for free in exchange for her not wrecking the bar. It was a nice place, not overcrowded nor empty. Many people looked suspicious and scared at her. Nothing was happening. Then, she heard a gun-shot...

One of the problems with being a teleporter who likes the occasional drink is you sometimes find yourself out of your skull in some place, with no idea where in the fecking world you are, and Guinness never tastes as good as it does in Dublin, but it'll do in a pinch, and now some gobshite is shooting a gun, and for the love of Mary it feels like it went off inside your booze-soaked brain...

The red-haired sorceress does her best to focus her eyes on the timid barkeep. "D'you think that came from outside, then? 'Tisn't right to fire a gun outside a bar, or inside for that matter; I know all of you Yanks are cowboys, but this ain't the OK Corral, is it?"

Faye holds up her hand, finger pointed in the classic 'cowboys and Indians' pistol, and mimes cocking it like it was an automatic. "Cha-chick! Ya'll stay inside, while Marshal Spenser has a wee look 'round, yeah?" When she was good and pissed, she had a tendency to tell people her real name, which was of course supposed to be a no-no, but what could they really do to hurt her? Call the garda? Police didn't scare her.

With great effort, the Red Queen finds the door, locks onto it like a guided missile, and staggers towards it and outside, waving her 'magic pistol' about; if anyone knew what that finger could do, they'd be on the floor in terror.

  13. It's very satisfying to give a mook a nosebleed, but in the grand scheme of things it doesn't amount to much; between herself and Nightrival, they had taken out all but the last two hooligans, and that was soon to be just one. Grim decides to mosey on over towards her mentor, keeping an eye on the last thug standing in case he decides to bolt (and really, wouldn't you under the circumstances?).

  17. "Which things do you need? Do you know any more about magic than I do? I lack the spark needed, it seems. I could never get his spells to work for me."

Lynn shrugs and holds up her hands. "I really don't know; in the movies there's always like a dog-eared journal that practically screams 'I’m full of clues!', but I doubt we'll get that lucky."

She crosses over to the expansion side of the store, heading back to the storage room she recalls Grandpa telling her not to enter as a child, one of the few times she actually listened to an adult's warning. On a few occasions, he had brought out a few odds and ends that he felt were safe for her to look at: a gold lame turban, some white evening gloves, a few posters and handbills. She had pored over them like diminutive archeologist sniffing out traces of a long-lost tribe.

"As far as me and magic goes-" Lynn stops outside the storage room, spreads her arms dramatically and poof!, she's wearing the classic combo of top hat, tails and tights. "This is about as magical as I get; changing my appearance and a few other things, but no spells or anything really cool."

  19. I love a good Southern accent meself; I've got a mild version of the flat, nasal Chicagoan's accent, though occasionally a bit of my family's Western Pennsylvanian creeps in, which is funny since I was born and raised in Illinois :D

I saw an interview with Yvonne Strahovski fron Sydney (star of TV's Chuck), and her accent is very cool; she pronounces 'no' as 'no-er.'
