Kevin spots someone coming out of a burning building. His clothes are still smoldering, and he looks like he's been burnt. He runs over to help put the man out... and to trying to heal him up a little.

  3. Second Chance on a particular Will save increases the probability from 50% to 75%, assuming you're powering something at your PL. I was overstating the difficulty of Regeneration; they're all below 10 ranks, and some of the Will saves are almost trivial (like Bruised). But it'll sting each time you succeed at hitting someone, then fail your Will saves to have your Enhanced Strength apply. To me, it doesn't seem like you want your character to be pretty much base human when she can't get her Will on. I'd think about using partial flaws so that with an extra bit of effort (and a Will save), she goes from super-human to OMGKaboom.

  6. It's a little disingenuous to ask that question. It's sort of like saying "Why do I need to buy Attack/Attack Focus/Attack Specialization if I want to describe myself as an expert marksman?" There is a slight difference between the two situations, though. Wealth is described as an optional system in the Mutants and Masterminds book. There have been a couple of characters already approved who purchased Wealth without prompting, assuming that the system was in place. However, we haven't officially stated whether we're using it. I'll bring it up with the other referees, and if we decide to not use it, the people who bought Wealth will have it refunded. If we do use it here, you'll have to buy Benefit (Wealth) to be able to claim you're wealthy and be able to back it up.

  9. If this were an in-person game of M&M, I wouldn't allow this, because it means that you're rolling twice as many dice to get just about anything done. As it stands, what I see there is legal from a mechanical perspective, and if you want to have your power fail half of the time, I won't stop you. I just advise against it.

  12. I looked it over, and everything appears fine. One thing I will note is that you're still PL-limited in your bonus from Attractive, so you only have an effective bonus of +17 in Bluff against people who are attracted to you, not +18. I'm assuming you're a hero; if I'm wrong, let me know. Thanks. :)

  15. I spoke with Barnum, and I think I found a better use of the favor than what I had said. This way, the two of us can work together on a museum heist, while two PL 10 heroes (one of them probably being Spellweaver, given what the target is) can come by and try to oppose us. Sound interesting to you? Also, anyone following along interested in being on the side of good going against us?

  18. "Well, there's one thing, but unless you know how to get past some real high-tech security systems, I don't think you could help with it. See, the Museum's got this exhibit with some rare book or other from ancient China. It's supposed to be some sort of grimor... grimoie... some sort of spellbook. Now, I don't know magic much, but there's something I've been looking to get done, and that book'd make a good bargaining chip," Heavy says. "See, I've been practicing something, and I think I could get us into the museum without a problem. It's trying to get the book out past all the tech stuff they got guarding it that'd be real hard," he shrugs. "Heroes could show up too, but that's always somethin' you got to worry about here. You get used to it after a while."

  21. "Yeah, glad to see I didn't hit you too hard there," Heavy says. He'll offer Nanowire a hand up, even if he does get turned down. "I really wasn't going to worrry about it too much. I mean, I don't have any plans right now for jobs or whatnot. If you hear that I ended up in Sing-sing or something, see if you can bust me out. That's about all I can think of." He takes a step back, putting back on the helmet. From the tone of voice that follows, Nanowire can tell that Heavy's amused. "By the way, that is a nice mecha or whatever you call it. A piece of advice though - you get in a fight with one of the heavies from the Freedom League, don't be afraid to get up close and personal. That thing's got to be strong to hold up against what I can do, and it doesn't look that strong. Still, if you get 'em teaming up on you, jetting out is probably your best move."

  24. Changing Toughness saves into Will saves is a little wonky, but I had an idea which could help give you the flavor that you're looking for without impacting the rest of the system. Here's a custom feat (or Feature, if you wanted to call it a power; either way, it'd be 1 pp). Feat: Strength of Will You can draw upon your inner strength to tough through even powerful blows. Effect: Instead of adding your Constitution modifier to your Toughness save, add your Wisdom modifer. You are still subject to the standard PL limits for your Toughness save, including any applicable tradeoffs. It keeps an attribute affecting two saves (Toughness and Will instead of Toughness and Fortitude), has a clear interaction with powers like Protection, and the slight advantage of getting a better modifier on a few skills that have Wisdom as the key modifier (while no skills have Constitution) is balanced out by not getting a bonus on recovery checks.
