Stinger hears the fire-projecting teen call out the name of the pizza parlorâ€â€it’s one she knows well. The restaurant is several blocks away, but she’s used to walking. She casually walks down the sidewalk, never bothering to answer him or look back over her shoulder. Along the way, she can’t help but think about the wad of cash burning to ashes. What a waste. If only she could have gotten away with it, she’d have been set and not had to risk herself for a while to get money to live on. A short while later she approaches the entrance to Vitorio’s. Her eyes scan the area to see if the boy who took her loot is there.

yeah, that might be the way to go. i was wondering what circumstances would bring her into the shadow academy anyway.

Holding her back where Breakdown laid into her, Stinger slowly rises. Although she tries to be tough, the pain makes her eyes water up anyway. She’d been roughed up plenty of times before back when she was living with her father, but it’s been a year since she got out of his reach. She doesn't like remembering those times. She inquires, "If it’s not your car, why do you care anyway?" She rubs the place on her back where he struck her.

stinger only had the one hero point and she already used it, however the stun will go away at the beginning of breakdown's turn before he can act on it. so her dodge and defensive roll will be in effect if he attacks. she's still staggered though and limited to only one action. she's clearly outmatched. if she had a chance to defeat him before, it's highly unlikely she's does now. he seems highly likely to be victorious. what do you suggest we do to help her elude capture? should it be one of these things were there's no proof (his word against her word and no other witnesses/proof) she was trying to steal a car, so the police can't arrest her? or should another (more powerful?) villain (the head mistress of the shadow academy, for instance) intervene to rescue her? should something else happen (an automotive accident nearby?) distract him (someone in danger and needing saved is more important than taking a petty criminal to the police)?

The teen hero is on Stinger quickly as she tries to make a break for it. Although she tries to evade his punch, he manages to lay the smack down on her before she can do anything about it. His super-punch smacks into her just as she thinks about turning around to face him and knocks her flying through the air many dozens of feet down the street. Although she tries to roll with the blow, she ends up face down in the grass beside the sidewalk some 250 feet away from her opponent. Clearly the inexperienced thief is out of her league against the confident teen hero.The sheer distance between them might buy her a little timeâ€â€maybe. Stunned and staggered by the powerful blow, it's all she can do to clear the cobwebs before he’s on her again.

Stinger raises an eyebrow when the teen hero pockets her loot. She folds her arms across her chest and shifts her hips to one side while she looks at him accusingly. She continues to watch him as he snuffs out the remaining embers. Before he’s done, she says "Fine. I like deep-dish pizza with Italian sausage, pepperoni, and extra cheese." Her hands drop to her sides and she starts walking off down the sidewalk towards the various restaurants, not bothering to look behind her to see if he’s following her or not.

stinger is staggered (and stunned). if i understand knockback correctly, stinger is knocked forward rank ((6+5=)11-3=) 8 distance, which is 250 feet, and knocked prone. is this correct? ((dc26-16=)10)

Upside down and standing on one hand, the slim girl is easily knocked over as her opponent grabs her arm. The pain of his grip forces Stinger to flip over and upright herself. She squirms in his arms, but the boy’s superhuman strength holds her firm. After another attempt at struggling to get free, Stinger stops trying. She says, "Fine. You win, Firebug. You can buy me dinner...but don’t get any funny ideas."

Although unexpected, the appearance of the boy suddenly popping up in front of her doesn’t slow Stinger down. She makes a run at him. The loss of all her loot, however, does call for a change of plan. Just before she reaches him, she flips up onto one hand, spins around, and kicks forward at his chest. As she flicks her right foot out at him, the upside-down girl says, "What kind of food did you have in mind, Firebug? Maybe I’ll take you up on it."

stinger has a (10+6=) 16 dodge. are you sure he missed with his re-roll? wouldn't his attack total be (12+6=) 18?

she's takes two move actions to increase the distance between them to (10+60=) 70 feet.

Stinger hears the woosh rapidly approach her, but she fails to elude the fire. She feels its heat swirl around her as the cash in her hand lights up and the bag at her hip catches fire. The teenager cries out "Woah!" in surprise and instinctively lets go of the burning cash. As the burning embers and ashes of the paper money flutter around in the wind behind her, she notices her bag is on fire too and that her loot falling free. She exclaims, "Oh, crap!" and lets the remnants of the burning bag fall to the ground. She quickly continues to run down the sidewalk to further put distance between her and the fire-wielding teenager.

she had to spend a hero point to re-roll her toughness save. 8 is less than 11, so adding 10=18+6=24.

When the interloper breaks into a dance, Stinger isn’t fooled. She realizes her opponent is looking for an opening. Unfortunately, knowing an attack is coming isn’t the same as reacting fast enough to get out of the way. The vibrations from his palm strike motion looks to hit her squarely in her chest, but she turns at the last moment so that the energy waves slide off of her. With backspin, she twirls and brings down another lash of her whip at the dancing hero, but she loses her balanceâ€â€letting out a "Woah!" as she doesâ€â€and misses wildly. To recovering her balance, she does a back flip off the car, putting it between her and her opponent, and then she makes a break for it down the sidewalk to put 30 feet between them.

Stinger’s eyes light up as Hellion flashes his wad of cashâ€â€and burns a hundred dollar bill into ash right before her eyes. She says, "How about...Plan Câ€â€I take the money and run!" With an underhanded motion, a purple energy whip suddenly lashes out to make a grab for the money. She immediately makes a run for it around the nearest corner and attempts to put as many things between her and the fire projecting boy as she can to avoid his retaliation.

first attack roll to snag the loot is an 11. if he has let his guard down (and is flat-footed), that'll hit his 11 defense, otherwise a hero point to re-roll. so i can post without waiting for verification, i'll go ahead and make the re-roll =)

about how far away is he then? =)

as far as i know, hellion doesn't have his demonic strength active at the moment, correct? what is the correct way to 'grab' something out of someone's hand? make a successful melee attack followed by a successful, contested grapple check?

is he doing the feint as a move action (and suffering the -5 penalty for doing so), or spending a hero point to surge to get another standard action?

Stinger says, "Show me the color of your money and I’ll consider it." She stands there smirking. Her lips are accented with purple lip gloss. Her dark locks of hair flutter as a light gust of wind blows. Small, heart-shaped silver earrings adorn her earlobes. The light scent of perfume hangs in the air. Her fingernails are decorated with purple nail polish. Each of her nails have a bare spot at the back as if it’s been several days since she’s applied nail polish to them and her nails have outgrown the previous coating. Her belly shirt reveals her slim waist which is decorated by belly ring of a stylized black cat with purple eyes. Her jeans are worn, but her sneakers look nearly new.
