Argh, having reached (or, nearing), the fight portion of things, kinda taking the thread towards wrap up. I could always work this in to the following patrol thread with Dr Archeville that will be following this one though, though I honestly try to keep them to two people. Could always work up some larger involved scenario thread off of the idea.

Holy mother of convoluted.. okay, no, just no. I cannot remotely picture a device that is body armour that turns into a hanglider that turns into a grappling gun. A device is, you know, an actual device. You know, looking at your current character sheet, I'm not even finding the 4 points of improved critial, meaning that really, the only thing that needs to be changed is your pl notation.

okay.. if you could write out what exactly you are losing and what you are picking up..

You might consider, if you want replaceable equipment that is better than average (in some cases well better) and your character cannot make it himself, nor is part of an organization that can supply it, to get contacts, or connected, or something to that effect, to reflect being in touch with suppliers who can.

it also has mighty on it, but yeah.

You really don't want to cite a utility belt where it gives its cutting torch as being something like 4 ranks in effectiveness below the one you want. Your equipment is just generally better than the equivalent equipment and I'm not really seeing it as things your character can just casually obtain. You have a hang glider that's as fast/faster than some cars. Were these devices that are part of your innate shtick, sure. These are by contrast just things you picked up along the way, by and large. You want it that badly, fine, you ever lose it/it gets wrecked, there will be problems.

Well, it's more for the Freedom League paying a closer attention to your exploits from that point as opposed to immediate offers to join on conclusion of thread. Basically something to build from for people looking to eventually pitch to the Refs wanting to be modded as joining the League, if they want.

Other problem for it being equipment.. a sword should really use the stats of the standard sword. There's nothing for why yours would be different/special.

Alright, this was something I needed to check with first for approval, but since that hurdle has been leapt past.. So, Emissary is a member of the Freedom League, and he likes to try and encourage new heroes, looks for ways to get them involved in the larger superheroing community, find ways for them to meet each other and make useful contacts as part of establishing that community, and so forth. He's talked the rest of the Freedom League around into letting him use Freedom Hall for, well, team tryouts. He'd spread the word through the community of a day set aside for such, that the idea would be superheroes looking to get the Leagues attention should come by, be run through a few tests, exercises, and simulations. People who do well get the League's eye on them as far as future offers of recruitment. Basically, it's a place to start for players who want their characters to eventually be worked into the Freedom League, and it's also chance for people with new hero characters to show them off a bit. So, looking for players for this! Show off and test out your abilities, sparring matches, fights on simulated opponents, the potential arrival of villains that might mess the whole thing up, who can say! Once I get enough people, I'll make an ic and ooc thread for it. Should note, really only looking for hero pcs for this.

You really want to do all those changes? the only thing you need to lose are the 4 ranks of improved critial, we only allow 2. Also, your sword becoming equipment instead of a device makes it /vastly/ more fragile and vulnerable to being destroyed even just via plot.

I'm really not going to be trucking in custom feats for this when there's a direly simple solution of just spending 1 more point on restricted for the device.

Because it can't. What you can do is take restricted two times on the device. This then means that the restriction on the device is that you are the only one who can use it, nothing else.
