  1. The Dreamer looked around the shop, noting the chime with a detached glance. She gives the entire shop a lazy once over, noting the many items, wondering if the dreamcatchers actually stopped nightmares, after all, magic was apparently real. She watched the people go around the store, pondering how to broach the reason she was here. Should she tell them she was working for the Forest Clan? Maybe profess to being independent. Should she offer pay up front, or let them make the offer? Maybe she should try to obligate them through a sense of justice, or try to intimidate them? After all, she was capable of some rather impressive displays of power, capable of creating very large objects. If she offered pay, should she generate some possible payment methods right now, or use it as a display of power? Would they believe that her dream items were permanent?

As she pondered this people left the room, but The Dreamer wasn't too bothered, as long as one of them was here she could talk to them. She was broken out of her thoughts as the shopkeeper talked to her. She hummed quietly at the question, deciding to go straight for the throat of the issue. Besides, if she had to, she could just create a diamond the size of a truck or something.

"I am here to speak to Alaynah and her crew." She looks at the hooded figure, pausing as she concentrated on creating some new dreams and fitting them together with the help of small dream creatures. "I am here to ask some questions, and can pay..." She smiles behind the mask as she let that last part hang in the air, cocking her head while she continued with the dreaming and watching the hooded figure. After a few more seconds The Dreamer produced a silver letter opener and sheath with the handle ending in an ivory dragon clutching a polished green emerald the size of a large marble from some folds in her dress. She lets the silence hang for a bit longer, before continuing. "I can pay handsomely in fact." A dreamed crow which was blind in one eye on the back of her wheelchair cawed raucously like a sinister laugh as she continued staring at the hooded figure.

  2. Definitely gonna use that extra effort and pray. 1d20+4= 9

I'm gonna use a hero point to reroll that. 1d20+4= 18

Gonna let the 88 go cause Shooting Star has bigger problems. As her action she's going to fly at max speed to the barricade to try stop this from turning out awfully, by trying to talk them down as her action.

I'm going to roll the diplomacy check now, but it's going to be a little bit before I get to the IC.

1d20+10= 24 (Note; As per her attractive feat, if the officers find her attractive the total becomes 28)

  3. Well, The Carnifex's action is fairly simple. She jumps up and takes a swing at Ultio Red.
And I was right in my worry that my dice would betray me! 1d20+4= 5!
Hero Point, cause no thanks! 1d20+4= 23 I really hope that hits, cause if not I'm in trouble! If it does Toughness DC is 25

The Dreamer is gonna use Dreamscape to generate a box around a two of Ultio Suits. DC17 (Max at PL) Reflex saves for them. Anyway, the maximum toughness she can achieve based on ranks is 15, but since that exceeds PL caps it is probably toughness 7. The box has a hole in the bottom so if it was lifted the suits could escape and weighs a lot.

  4. Okay, well that's gonna be a cavalcade of whiffle bats. The Carnifex has immunity to critical hits, so ping there, back down to DC19. Then, assuming it's not penetrating none of them beat it's Impervious Toughness 7.

Not gonna lie I thought that was gonna turn ugly for a bit there.

  5. Muirne listened intently as Mette explained that she drew powers from the fairy tale. "I guess kinda like my link to the Shattenwelt? As in we both draw power from something outside ourselves to manifest our powers? I suppose that's not the best comparison, since a story and a dimension are kinda different..." She looked thoughtful as she mumbled out the last sentence, trailing off as Mette replied mentally, expression the same as she replied. What we can do really depends on how much they know about us, but they can't pull us up for looking around since that's exactly why we're here. She smiles softly at the invitation, nodding. "Sounds like a plan." She followed along, continuing to mentally talk to the older hero. I can't say I'm familiar with the Little Mermaid story, all I know is the cover of the movie, which has a mermaid on it, but that's not really much to go on, so if you don't mind the question what are your powers?

Muirne nodded in agreement as Dee decided on the direction of travel, not like she had a better idea, sending affirmation to the message.

Muirne looked around nervously as they passed down the street. This place was too quiet and peaceful, surely anyone here would quickly grow weary of how... artificial it was? This was distinctly wrong, like an unholy fusion of her village and Freedom City, surrounded by nature yet like a city from a television show, clean and pristine. It was not helped by the noticeable lack of her link to the realm of Shadows, something she'd never realised she'd grown so used to. If it wasn't for where they were and what they were doing she might enjoy not having to worry about transforming involuntarily, but with Kay confirming that Talos was expecting them to poke around where they weren't supposed to she could barely even work as a diversion.

She was a liability to the mission unless she could find a way to access her powers, or think up something she could do to aid the mission with her lacking skillset.

She jumped slightly at the sudden blast of music, and watched the people with consternation. What was going on in that building, why was that lady bleeding? While they seemed happy, that only raised her alert higher. The woman was beaten and bloodied and was in a good mood. Something had to be afoot. Overcome by her curiosity, suspicion of Rurland and teenage impetuosity she quickly slipped into the building, intent on learning it's secrets.

  6. Alice watched, wonder plain on her face as a female Centurion passed overhead. That was the superhero, the original, doing the seminal heroic act. She might not have even donned her cape were it not for him... well, her in this case. Then she was stopped by 'science police', what the hell? She grimaced as they immediately jumped to lethal force, and watched Justice and Oz respond with curiosity. She drew back to watch when Daedalus' outburst caught her attention. "Oh shit." She cringed as she drew a trident out of somewhere, but didn't think about it too long.

She needed to think, what should she do? The Mastermind definitely had some power here, and apparently The Centurion was at least the public enemy, but she knew from her own outlaw status on her Earth that being labelled the enemy by those in charge didn't necessarily mean you really were. She needed to choose, act now, or stand by.

She made her way within earshot of Justice. "I don't think answers will present themselves in time to stop whatever is happening without one of us poking for them directly, and I don't think Daedalus is going to do it. I'm gonna head up and try to draw out some answers, you lot listen, and work out what's going on from what you can catch." She grins bitterly, floating forwards, past the Deep One. "Daedalus, I need you to stand down. I'm heading up there, Justice and Oz will be listening in to get context. Work with them to work out what we need to do."

Meteor began floating up, using the vambrace to return to her costume, cape fluttering out into the air, speeding up to fly between the groups. "Hey, hey. I think that was a bit fast, no? No need to jump straight to lethal force, don't you have alternatives?" She smiled nervously at the five powersuits, hoping that they responded.

  7. The Dreamer surveys the warren of the undercity, observing the hustle and bustle of the underground community below Emerald City, she had dreamed up her approximation of a kitsune mask like she'd seen at festivals in her home dimension and on the television since she'd taken up residence in Emerald City. Someone familiar with actual kitsune masks would recognise that there were inaccuracies to the real deal. She hadn't been aware of the Sunken Bazaar before this, but now wasn't the time to indulge in her curiosity, she had a serpent to hunt, and would have time afterwards to look through the Bazaar on her own.

She wheeled across the street and into the store.

  8. The Dreamer clenched her teeth as Ultio Red belittled her, claiming her life story was fabricated, and the dreams became increasingly agitated, the cries of "OFF WITH HER HEAD!!" redoubling. Behind her the Carnifex grinned, gleeful as the situation spiralled, it definitely was going to be allowed to stay out. The Dreamer sneered when the Ultio users cheered, furious at the close minded arrogance the Ultio Suits displayed. She focused on Ultra Girl as the heroine addressed her, listening intently as she talked.

"It would be remiss to not assist you, especially since you would not be in this situation were it not for me. I am glad that I will have a true hero at my side during this fight, thank you." The Dreamer glares up at the collected Ultio Suits, readying herself for the battle to come.

  9. Yeah I've been working up some more stuff to explain things like the mask's limited suffocation immunity and actually add descriptors. Also thanks for pointing out my mess up with perception which'll save some PP. Homing does sound good as a substitute, thanks.

With Drain, Ultimate Power says that slow fade and incurable are both feats that apply, as slow drain makes the recovery from the drain take longer (Normally 1PP per round), and incurable means using boost or healing or something else without the Persistent feat does not restore a drained target. Ultimate Power also says that Drain does not effect objects without the extra. The Toughness on the save for Drain was a mixture of me being an ass and finding a way to justify it. Draining toughness requiring a toughness save makes it harder to save against subsequent drains, and all his other effects which kinda made sense for his biggest nastiest weapon that he only gets to use 5 times and taking his whole action, so I figured the cheese there would be nicely offset. It also meant that someone might actually manage to fail the save against the Incorporeal attack. As for the justification, accelerating entropy is essentially saying that things getting disorganised or going wrong goes faster (For example increasing entropy on some iron would make it oxidise and fall apart faster,  on a nuclear material would make it decay faster, if something bad but random happens over time it'll just happen faster.) I figured that would make a bit more sense as a Toughness thing since I felt it sounded more like something you'd use toughness to resist than fortitude, also it would allow the entropy accelerator to work against objects which it can't with other saves.

I wasn't aware that progression might work with Save DCs, so I'll use that on Incorporeal, thanks. Also, with Dimensional, the UP pdf reckons it advances the same way as dimensional travel, although I mostly chose it as a way to use points and I might drop it lower to see if I can drag his PP total lower since I don't like it being this high.

I'll fix up the stuff with the gadgets, thanks.

In Brief: Powerhouse using technology to enhance his abilities as a villain.

    Alternate Identity: Aaron Armstrong (Secret)

    Birthplace: Freedom City

Residence: The Theatre District, Freedom City
Occupation: Part-time Mechanic, Villain for Hire
    Affiliations:

Family: Calvin Armstrong (Father), Linda Armstrong (Mother), Alice Armstrong (Sister)

    Description:

    Age: 21

    Gender: Male

    Ethnicity: Caucasian

    Height: 6'3"

    Weight: 216lbs

    Eyes: Blue

    Hair: Black

Aaron is tall and muscular, with broad shoulders and a thin waist. His hair is unruly in a perpetual bed head that refuses to be combed into submission he frequently forgets to shave, leaving him with a nine o'clock shadow most days, but he never lets it get longer than stubble, as he shaves it off before then. He has high cheekbones and a strong jaw and chin, a long straight nose and bright blue eyes that seem to invite people around him to look at them. He has a long curving cut along the right side of his jaw which he claims he got when a tool he was using broke.

As a civilian he wears jackets and jeans over band shirts, even in the summer, only sacrificing his jacket on the warmest days of the year. He tends to wear steel-toe boots on his feet, regardless of whether he needs them where he is going.

As a villain he wears a modified welding mask that covers his entire face, with numerous technological updates since it's inception. For his suit he wears a black long coat over a white undershirt, with black denim jeans and leather gunslingers chaps on his lower half. He wears a pair of high tech boots and gauntlets and a rocket pack on his back.

    History:
Aaron's family was poor even before he and his sister were born, but things were even harder afterwards, especially with the medical expenses for Alice's condition. So he grew up helping to care for his frail younger sister. Still he was happy, a star athlete at any school he attended, although his academic studies were average at best. Then on the day he turned seventeen, he quickly discovered two things. First, he had developed superpowers, he was stronger, quicker and smarter. Second he found out that Alice had been suddenly cured of her illness, likely by whatever had granted him his powers. His decision to become a villain was not a quick one, not like Alice's heroism, but he needed money both for himself and his family, and had powers. After he turned eighteen he put on a mask, and went out as muscle for hire. For now he'd get himself set up, then he'd work into being a true supervillain. It was easy at first, bust down some walls, take down some goons, get the reward. He saved most of the money, hoping to support himself and Alice in the future, but some of it went into developing better equipment. His first powered gauntlets and boots he made using some stolen supertech. At the same time he did apprenticeships as an electrician and mechanic to help him further develop his supertech, and got himself an apartment in the Theatre District, close to his family but outside The Fens.

He was planning on making the jump to being a real villain when she ruined everything. Shooting Star turned up at a robbery and everything went sideways. The mask came off after she hit him, the edge of it tearing open a gash along his jaw and the heroine just stared. He knew right away that she recognised him, so he cut his losses and fled. No one he knew was acting differently, so she had to be just keeping an eye on him for now, and so he didn't dare make the jump to being a self-employed villain, since there's no way she'd stand aside. So for two years he's been developing his supertech to allow him to take her down, and secure his and his sister's future.

    Personality & Motivation:
Aaron is of the opinion that himself, his family and his friends are what matters, and is willing to do whatever he feels is necessary to help and protect them. He feels especially protective of his sister Alice, who he helped with her condition for seven years before she was cured of her disease. The primary reason he works as a villain is to get the money to support himself and his sister in the future.

Aaron pushes himself to meet higher standards than he tends to hold others to, wanting to make a better life for the people he cares about even if it puts him at risk. He is reserved around people he doesn't know, but more open around his friends and family, although since moving out he's been in less contact with his family, wanting to keep his work as a villain a secret.

    Powers & Tactics:
Aaron tends to use non-lethal equipment, not wanting to get treated like a Moore-era villain, and preferring instead the maximum punishment of being sent to jail instead of ripped to pieces. Even his guns are able to be non-lethal mode to allow him to incapacitate of targets instead of kill them, although some of his gear is dangerous if not handled carefully, and they have lethal modes. If he is forced to fight without his gadgets, between his powers and his gauntlets and boots he is still a formidable powerhouse at the street level, although maybe not as tough as some of the other ones out there. His enhanced quickness and intelligence do not generally help him in a straight up fight, but does let him work out plans and such on the fly.

The technology he carries with him are his powered gauntlets and boots, which enhance his strength and defence, they also contain a pair of shield generators, one very powerful generator that renders him impervious to almost all attacks without it even touching him, but they are limited to stopping five blows before they overheat and fall back entirely on the weaker shields they wrap around him. His mask penetrates concealment allowing him to see enemies behind cover and it also recycles the air he breathes, helping him avoid suffocation. While it doesn't perfectly protect him, it does roughly double the time he can avoid suffocation.

His primary weapon is the Railpistol he made, a high powered pistol that he uses as his primary weapon. It is accurate and stealthy allowing him to use it without alerting enemies of his presence. He carries three other weapons with him, experimental guns that he carries in case of emergencies. The Energy Blaster shoots explosive packets of energy, a homing ball that explodes onto the target. The energy type can be changed at will, allowing for the resistances and immunities of different opponents, and tears through normally impervious protections. The Entropic Accelerator shoots a beam that causes a burst of accelerated entropy, weakening people and structures around a blast point, although the accelerated chaos returns to normal over time, the violation of physics undoing itself and the universe setting it right. The Temporal Distorter causes all living creatures in an area start perceive a reduced amount of time relative to those unaffected, slowing their reactions, or if especially effective freezing them entirely.

These weapons are Aaron's answer to heroes he would otherwise be unable to combat, a lesson learned from his fight with Shooting Star, the main reasons they are not his primary weapons is the limited number of shots, and the potential that they will overheat and burn him.

On his back he wears his jump pack which allows him to leap hundreds of feet, but only five times so he uses it sparingly, it allows him manoeuvrability he normally does not possess, capable of quickly gaining ground, bypassing cover or reaching high places. Finally hidden all over his person are small gadgets that Aaron uses to get through various situations like a smoke generator to conceal himself, a collection of various grenades like his stun grenade to put normal civilians out of action without wasting time with his pistol, the Breathtaker, which thins the air in an area around it, making it hard to breath and move for regular humans, and the Little Helper, a small semi-autonomous robot to open locks, help him search and investigate and keep an eye out for trouble.

    Power Descriptions:
The powers Aaron possesses innately are the standard powerhouse ones, as well as enhanced intelligence and quickness, allowing him to perform well beyond the norm academically and physically. His gadgets and devices are all made by him working from experiments and pilfered pieces of super tech, making some pieces unreliable and others fully dangerous to those using them. His most refined pieces are his gauntlets, gloves and mask.

    Complications:

    Fickle and Temperamental

Aaron's powers are derived from an artefact of the Greek Gods, and when they find out about it they will likely act on the information in some manner.

    Blood runs thicker.

Aaron's sister is also the superheroine Shooting Star and knows his identity. Aaron wants to keep his sister safe and use his work as a supervillain to provide for her and the rest of the family, and wants to take Shooting Star down to prevent her from using his identity against them, as he is unaware that they are the same person.

  11. Alice flew into the air, surveying the crowd for the bastards escaping. No one tried to shoot up her neighbourhood on her watch. With a quiet snarl she dove on the 88 she spotted, grabbing him by the shoulder with a vice-like hand. "You bastards just had to try this tonight of all nights didn't you?" She lifted off the ground, the struggling gangster in hand. "I hope any of your buddies who hear about what happened learn that if they want to mess with my neighbourhood, they're going to have to go through me. And they'll have to bring bigger guns." She wasn't being entirely honest, that rocket launcher could've hurt her pretty badly, but right now she was a bit too annoyed to think clearly about what telling the gangster to try bigger weapons could mean for her in the long run.

She floated near the rooftop Gauss was on, so her head was visible above the ledge. "Hey, I just wanted to say thanks. This would've been messy if you hadn't been here."

  12. The Dreamer nodded along with the explanation of the glamour. It was even more valuable if they wanted it for an invasion, but she would keep that thought to herself. "I am sure it helps greatly in staying hidden." Was all she said that could be related to those thoughts. During the introductions she applied all of the politeness and grace she had been taught, and she answered their questions with a reasonable amount of detail.

"They are essentially alive, although they will disappear once they aren't being dreamed about. I can't say I know what happens if they disappear, I know that the powerful dream constructs like the Carnifex continue to exist when not physically dreamed of, but I don't believe anyone proved if dream creatures like these stay around afterwards. I would like to think they do, but even if they do not, I think it is better to have lived for a short time than never have lived at all, no?"

She followed Vicente and Daria, getting some assistance from her dreams to get onto the patio, but managing it in the end. She wheeled up to the table upon being invited, and listened to Vicente's explanation quietly. She shrugged at the end of it and Daria's interjection, "Given my life it is not so hard to believe that you are who you say you are. I am curious about why you need me though." When Vicente slid the paper over to her she quickly skimmed the article as he explained. She wasn't sure she liked his ability to call any murder typical, but given context she wasn't going to call him out on it. She picked up the second picture, committing the murderer's face to memory. One of the faeries pulled a face at the picture, before quickly zipping away.

"I was not aware of caves below the city." She followed along with the explanation, and shrugged at the final question. "No, I do not suppose so."

The Dreamer leaned back in her chair as Daria explained, her brow furrowing and a scowl coming across her face. As the bear woman continued, the dreams around her became more and more agitated. They stopped short of anything that would interrupt Daria, and began to vocalise their anger at the picture of Advay and down towards the ground. They fell silent when The Dreamer, her eyes hard and angry replied.

"While you know my files you clearly do not know me, or you would be aware that there was no way I would turn you down. I promise, as the last True Dreamer, I will help you to the best of my ability."

  13. Alice looked around, before doing a double take at the date. "This is before the Centurion's debut, he'll stop a robbery next month." Quickly she creates a blue summer dress in place of her spandex, but not changing her appearance. If the date given was accurate it was well before her birth and so no one would recognise her. Without any active supermen they can only get help from the various mystery men that predated the Centurion and she doesn't know them as well as the Centurion. It would also make them the first of the proper superheroes in the public eye if they were spotted. She gave Daedalus a side glance at her outburst. "From the sounds of it most worlds have primarily humans. I think your one is the odd one in that way."

"Does anyone have any means of long range communication? If not we'll want to stick together."

She looked around at the old Freedom City she had seen in illegal books and pictures when Oz spoke up. "It's so different than the one I know, carefree in a way." She took a deep breath, savouring the fresh air. "I agree with Oz, let's be about it."

  14. "I am not planning on going public with my identity and powers, you do not need to worry." The Dreamer gives them a polite smile. "I do think I might try to become a hero though."

The Dreamer gives a brief smile at Vicente's reassurance about figuring out life in Emerald City. She wasn't as certain in some ways, since she would always have to maintain control of her dreams. Without any other hyperlucid dreamers it seemed like stopping damage she might do would be significantly more difficult. If she dreamt up a fire, there was no one who could simply dream it away in response. Although there seemed to be heroes who could potentially respond well enough. "I hope so,  it has been a large change from what I am used to.

She followed them down the path, watching dreams of birds, faeries and small creatures frolic gaily amongst the branches. The grinning cat floated behind her during the walk.

The Dreamer looked around the empty clearing that she had been led to. She didn't significantly respond when the illusion was revealed, although someone closely watching her posture would have seen her grip on her wheelchair tighten slightly. Her dreams were less subtle, several fae and birds rushing to interpose themselves between the light and their Dreamer, while the gnomes, gremlins and goblins began to tug on the chair trying to move her out of the clearing and away from the light. Clearly the dreams did not fully trust the pair. Inside the Carnifex ex Imaginatio stirred.

After the light show, The Dreamer gave a polite applause, not appearing outwardly perturbed. "That was a most impressive display. Certainly it must be helpful to avoid detection." She looks out at the individuals in the clearing. "Was the cover only lifted for us, or was it lifted in general?"

She nodded along at the explanation as Vicente returned. She was glad this was not the entire clan, given that would make their clan a mere four people strong. She smiled politely, "Of course, having a place to stay is always useful if one needs to do business away from home." Or if they need a staging area for an invasion. A hidden army at the doorstep of Emerald City. The Dreamer had never led troops but she had heard her grandfather speaking with many officers about the defence against the invaders, and later the Terminus. Right now a small chair appeared on her left forearm with a nobleman in a suitupon it talking about what the leaders ought to be doing with this staging area.

The Dreamer was not yet certain of their true intentions so would not mention such things, but was quietly memorising everything she could, and had one of the pixies pull the arm chair general away If they were not planning offences it would be impolite to imply that she believed that they would, and if they were, they might take issue with her realising that she had figured them out. "It is quite pleasant, it seems relaxed.

When Daria lays out a course of action The Dreamer nods. "Lead the way." The cat looks around, grinning still before vanishing.

  15. Muirne watched nervously as the two robots bickered then stood and glared. Was she supposed to intercede, would that be rude, or overstepping giving that Eira at least wasn't happy with her? Was the mission more important than politeness in this case? She was in the middle of puzzling through what she should do when their glaring was interrupted by Mette. She sent her a grateful smile while the two girls were glaring at each other still. After the dismissal she wondered what she should do. Kay obviously expected someone to sneak off and was being rather dismissive of the idea, but without her powers she wasn't nearly as stealthy. She had seen plenty of films where the characters lost their powers and regained them through effort or in a moment of crisis, but she doubted that would work all things considered. She looked over at Mette, who had broken up the argument, and realised they hadn't actually talked. Muirne walked up to her. "I don't think we actually got a chance to introduce ourselves, sorry. I'm Muirne. I heard you mention being the Little Mermaid, I saw that there was a story and a movie with that title, are they about you or is it a coincidence?" She smiled nervously as she brought it up. You mentioned not being the stealthy type. My stealthy options are a bit limited without my powers, so I figure that we can follow along with the plan that was laid out for the visit to keep up appearances, or we can try to create a distraction for someone who can actually do the sneaking. Your thoughts? She smiled slightly at the minor pun of psychically asking someone their opinion like that.

  16. The Dreamer blinked a few times at Ultra Girl's comment and her immediate backtracking and apology. "I would not really say reflex. It was still my choice to bring out The Carnifex, which was obviously a mistake. Thank you for understanding though, I haven't really talked to many people about it."

She glared at the Ultio Suits as Ultra Girl confirmed their fixation on points over people. It was the duty of those with power to help others, and only doing it for a reward cheapened the work of the heroes who didn't. She nodded as Ultra Girl said she'd talk to them, whispering back, "The serpent can actually fly if it comes to it." As Ultra Girl talked The Carnifex grinned evilly when she said it looked scary, flicking some of it's obsidian-like mane over it's shoulder. "The hero is right, I've been on my best behaviour. The only people I've touched since being called were the thief and The Dreamer. Surely you don't want to pick a fight with poor little me." It chuckled darkly as it finished.

The Dreamer looked around the assembled group at Ultio Blue's question. "I came up here to keep from frightening anyone. Currently I would prefer to keep them around to be certain of my safety, but if it would avoid a fight I would be willing to." She looked to Ultra Girl, and the snake leaned her closer, quietly saying. "If I do make the serpent go, could you please let me down from the build-" She cut off as the red and white woman started shouting and flew closer. As she began to harangue her she tried to answer some of the questions.

    "I am not-"

"I am a firm believer in trust-"

And then she made the comment about not being real heroes. For a moment The Dreamer was still, then the corner of her mouth started twitching. "Wannabes, huh?" A deep rumbling growl emanated from the feathered serpent, and the menagerie of dream creatures matched it. "Tell me something, did you spend your childhood using your powers to help support your dimension defend itself from invaders?" The snake brought The Dreamer closer to the woman, while a rotund dream woman in royal finery started shouting "OFF WITH HER HEAD!! OFF WITH THEIR HEADS!"

The Dreamer continued, not paying mind to the agitated dreams below. "My dimension was invaded by Omega about two years ago, and still I helped where I could, dreaming up supplies, weapons, defences. Anything to slow down the invasion. And yet it is you who is a real hero. Not me, not Ultra Girl who turned up and tried  to sort out the situation. You, who stood back and watched until someone else came up. What if The Carnifex had attacked, would you have just stood by and waited, watching Ultra Girl fight a thirteen foot tall monster?" The serpent pulled back, stretching it's wings in preperation for flight. The Carnifex growled, the sound rumbling over the cacophany of the dreams, only the cries of "OFF WITH THEIR HEADS!" being audible over the volcanic rumble. "If you want to make my day, please get in her way." The Dreamer scowled, but didn't castigate the dream demon for her statement.

  17. Muirne noted down the first part of Àjàṣorò's explanation, but left out the part about sneaking from her notes, trying to commit that part to memory alongside the parts that Janus had mentioned for how to sneak out. It seemed the students here had learned to be quite proficient at avoiding detection, although from what Àjàṣorò had said she could assume part of it was also teachers allowing the students to get away with sneaking out. She looked around quickly to ascertain that no one was listening in before whispering in reply, "Does everyone here do hero uh..." She struggled to come up with an accurate verb, settling on lamely whispering "Work?"

She nodded, looking up at the taller girl, while she scrawled the little detail about roommates, before sheepishly asking "Uh, my power sometimes activates without me wanting it to. Is that going to be accounted for when selecting a roommate?"

  18. Muirne smiled politely at Klara's comment about being in the forces, not really having experience with anything like that. It was tough to imagine any of the people here terrified though, it just seemed so far out from the confidence and power they had, although she imagined living in a world where there were other people with powers tempered that confidence and made them earn it through experience she didn't have. She grinned and chuckled at Klara's comment about healthy eating and exercise. "I'll have to take you up on that at some point, for now I've been enjoying trying the things I never got to when I was a child, which is definitely why I've been gaining weight. I'll have to try my hand at making a pie, maybe I'll have to invite you around for your opinion Breogo Joe." She gave him a brilliant smile.

After a few moments she returned to business again, looking back to Erick. "What's the plan?"

  19. The Dreamer nodded when Vicente offered to take her to see what he was talking about. "I can come along." She placed the cryptozoology book on her lap and wheeled after them, and smiled wryly as Daria talked. "I can't even hide my dreams now, but I suppose that's a good thing."

She had been relieved at the accommodations in the van. A small ballerina danced on the dashboard while a small train flew overhead. She nodded understandingly as Vicente explained the Clan's need for allies even if she didn't join. She followed the train, contemplating what she should ask about this 'Forest Clan' while some branches began to form in the top of the van.

She refocused on the front seats when Vicente addressed her again. "I don't really feel at home, but that's been getting better. I have some places I go to donate things I dream up now, like that shelter a few blocks down from me. It's nice being able to help again like I did back in my dimension. It's nice having a return to normalcy like that. I can't think of anything to make it easier right off the top of my head though. I know I've changed since I was with my family. I don't really know which way to go from here, but I don't know where I'm going so asking for directions isn't helpful." The Dreamer looks down at her hands as she says this, missing the grinning cat that floats past, watching the pair.

  20. The Dreamer thought for a moment about how to answer Ultra Girl's question. She wasn't here as a civilian, so she didn't have to worry about her civilian identity. She decided honesty would be the best policy. "I'm from another reality. We were in a war with another dimension, and it was... bad. I heard screaming and I'm so used to that being bombs or Omegadrones that I just reacted." She watched as some ranks of futuristic looking tin soldiers marched past the snake. "My power is that things I dream of becomes real." To demonstrate she focused for a moment, creating a masquerade mask over her face, blue like her dress. The Carnifex stepped up to stand next to the serpent, purring in response to the follow up question "My poor dreamer is fixated on the idea of discerning her dreams from reality, why she bothers I don't really know. After all, reality is overrated, I'm not real the way you two are, neither is the feathered serpent, but does it matter right now?"

The Dreamer looked thoughtful as Ultra Girl asked about unsummoning the Carnifex, while the monster puffed up in offense. "I'm not some regular dream to be discarded. I am the most powerful of her creatures and can hardly leave The Dreamer to face some loose cannon wannabe heroes on her own." It retorted pridefully, before waving it's clawed hand dismissively, pacing off to stand closer to the end of the snake. The Dreamer glared at The Carnifex as it talked and stormed off.

"I think you might-" She was cut off as the man in the Ultio Suit started talking. "Well as you may have noticed we were talking." The snake reared up, hissing fiercely as more dream creatures started to appear. The Dreamer started to look angry as the man talked. "Since when was being a hero about points?" She spat the word like a curse. "If someone needs help do you just stand by until you'll get your bonus?" The small tin soldiers jeered as she said this, but The Carnifex chuckled, "So righteous anger is good and all, but on that note, how many points am I and what will that get you? If The Dreamer stops me can she claim the points?" The Dreamer gave the Carnifex a stern look, before addressing the mercenaries floating around her.

"The creatures you are here to fight aren't real. They are a product of my power. They aren't dangerous to people, and the only reason the Carnifex was brought out was due to a misjudgement on my part. If possible I would prefer to avoid a fight." She looks to Ultra Girl, continuing quieter than before, "Do you think if you took me into custody that they would leave, or would it be a fight?"
