  2. Binder Power Level: 10 (150/150PP) Unspent Power Points: 0 Trade-Offs: +4 Attack / -4 Damage, +2 Defense / -2 Toughness In Brief: A mystical warrior who fights tyranny in order to keep the Binds that hold the universe together in place. Catchphrase: I got a bad feeling about this... Theme: Alternate Identity: Binder (Public) (Secret) Delvin Deemer Birthplace: Koroth II Residence: N/A Base of Operations: Occupation: Affiliations: Praetorians Family: None Description: Age: 24 Apparent Age: 27 Gender: Male Ethnicity: Caucasian Height: 5,10 Weight: 164 Eyes: Green Hair: Brown A lean figure with hints of muscle showing through his loose cloth brown shirt. He wears dark brown trousers cuffed at the bottom with black work-boots messy from years of labor. His skin is pale and coarse to the touch with several scars from hard labor criss-crossing his body. Has an angular face with high cheekbones and a clef chin. His bright green eyes pierce with intensity. His shoulder length brown hair is tied into a long ponytail and has stubble dotting his chin. Despite his intense gaze his face gives off a more cheerful expression like he just heard a good joke. History: Growing on on Koroth II Delvin Deemer never saw the sun. For as long as he could remember he was in the mines working long grueling hours under the watchful eye of House Gernald. Some would say he was a slave but the law said he was a contractor at birth. Years of hard labor moving pounds upon pounds of rocks doing the same every day made him strong both him body and spirit. He knew someday he would be free of the House and so would his friends and family he just had to wait all the while digging deeper and deeper into the moon. Finally the day where something different happened and he found himself in what appeared to be ancient ruins. Further inspection revealed it to be a temple of some sort for something called "The Bind". Some mystical force the holds the galaxy and all people together. Not much else was on the Bind but there were some tomes detailing on how to serve the Bind as it bestows upon you magical properties. Sadly the majority of the text was lost to the ravages of time and only the applications of body enhancement remained. From that day Delvin would slip away in the middle of the night to visit the temple ruins to study, learn, and become more powerful. Finally after years he had achieved the power he needed to stand up against House Gernald. His body was as strong as the strongest powerloaders, able to move quicker than humanely possible and the tenacity to never lose he was ready. Demonstrating his findings and rallying the miner settlements he lead the rebellion against tyranny. After months of fighting the House realized it no longer had its hold on Koroth II anymore. It mattered not how many troops they send nor how much supply they had. The Miners knew the tunnels and easily outmaneuvered any battle into their favor. With news of the liberation of Koroth II the Praetorians were interested in this Binder of the Miners and his supernatural feats and offered him a position. Personality & Motivation: Growing up with little to knowing Binder is anything but a greedy man. He will help and give even if it will hurt him in the end due to him being raised to help his fellow Miner. He enjoys the little surprises in life and is happy to always try something new and different. He cares deeply friends and family as thats all he really has. He hates those who impose their will on others and attempt to change the natural binding of things for their own benefit. Powers & Tactics: Binder has heavily enhanced his body with a multitude of magical rituals to the point of being superhuman. He is capable of using a blaster or bow but he is far more skilled in melee moreso his trusty energy blade. He will try to close the distance using his high acrobatics and speed and unleash a flurry of blows hoping to quickly end the fight. Power Descriptions: His enchantments give him a constant low glow of golden light. Not bright enough to be noticeable but enough to make out if you looked well enough at his body. Complications: Loved Ones- He is very loyal to his friends and family. He cannot bring himself to to do something that would harm them and will put his own life on the line to save those he cares about. Nemesis- The Gernald House actively plots to murder him whether it be assassins, poison, or anything else. Gravity- Gravity on Koroth is much less than most other places. If Binder is without his enhancements he will not be able to walk. Asthma- Years of breathing in rock dust has scarred his lungs. He is more vulnerable to gas used against him. (Increase DC by half) Nightmares- The Bind opened his mind to more than just good things. The bind frequently shows him horror things that may happen if he fails to keep the bindings together. Well that was unexpected. Mannequin thought that Hettie would try to live up to hear name and break his kneecaps (if he still had any) but turns out she is just another Meat Head. Meat heads are both bad and good. Bad because what they dont have in intelligence or cunning they make up for with sheer determination and strength. However the good thing about Meat Heads is that they are predictable. As long as you dont surprise them they can easily be fooled. Since she already thinks of him being part of the house well best to play that up. Downside is going back in the house but he things he would have better chances of keeping Ratchet save against rocks than people who smash rocks. "Back..Buildinggggg....Back to back building....You come back to building...." Mannequin grabbed Ratchet by the shoulder and started lightly pushing him towards the building hoping the Meat Heads bought the ruse."

Well this wasnt going according to plan. It would seem Mannequin found himself in quite a problem. He could and usually would stand his ground and get some answers outta the workers and their obvious strange buildings but something tells him they wont be open with that information and on top of that he had to watch out for Ratchet. What kind of hero would he be if he got an innocent bystander hurt in a fight? They could try to hide but the only real hiding spots are in the buildings which just tried to kill him so there goes hiding. He didnt like it but the best option would be to stand his ground and try not to start a fight. Surely they can be reasonable...Right?

You know in hindsight he really should of expected this sort of thing. His line of work did call for the unique and strange like a somewhat sentient house trying to kill him with itself.Moving fast but not quickly enough a chunk of rubble hit Mannequin as he tumbled. No real harm was done thanks to his highly resistant body but still, that was too close and would frankly make for quite a anticlimactic end to his career. Here lies Mannequin...Crushed by rock. Such a death was insulting. Pushing the chunk off him he didn't wait around to see what else this house of horror had in store and made a beeline out of there separating and propelling his parts out with the force of his strong magnetic pull. As soon as he was out he quickly check to see if Ratchet was ok.
  6. Well the bad news is https://orokos.com/roll/591311 that I got a 2 https://orokos.com/roll/591312 got an 18 so I think Im good!

Not having any shred of hope that Ratchet is anything but subtle or stealthy mainly due to the fact that he practically yelled when he read the hazard signs Mannequin instantly dropped the idea of sneaking around the other buildings. Any hazardous substance in there will have no effect well for Mannequin that is. Maybe he could convince Ratchet to stand guard and keep a lookout? "I say we try the place you found it first. If it looks bigger than yesterday then hopefully the stuff is still there. Plus we don't have to worry about others. Think you can stand point outside and watch my back as I go in? Would be a problem if someone got the jump on us and I trust you and your watchful gaze to keep us safe." He didn't really trust Ratchet to be responsible or really keep focused on the matter at hand but maybe playing up to him will convince him to do it. At least, he hoped it would.

No! It is not ok to commit vehicular manslaughter. Getting us around back is fine. Anything besides killing people is a better option right now. Also sounds like I shall become antiquated to Mister Brick and Hettie very soon. Just get me in and I can short the wires for us."

True she might freak out abit but Im rather big so its not quite so easy to sneak around at times. Maybe you'd be willing to distract her? If so I can sneak by but that leaves you. Wait, didn't you say you worked here before? Would they still allow you in? If so you might be able to just say Im some sort of construction tool."

"I doubt the guard will just let us in without a fuss. Hmm, I could briefly hit him with Sense Prevention Haze to blind him just long enough for us to get past him. We'd have to move quickly though. Id ask if you could stay out here but you'd probably just say no so what I do ask is that you do what I say and be careful. Are you ready to go?"

The weight of empathy weighed hard on Mannequin. He really didn't want to take the guy with him but he had nowhere to go and probably no phone either. It wouldn't do for a hero to bring people into danger but this guy was crazy enough to follow him regardless of harm. Maybe it would be best to let him tag along, atleast that way he can keep a close eye on the loon. "Fine, I really don't like the idea of you going into possible harm but you'd just follow me regardless. Just please try to be careful. I can do many things but I can only keep you safe so much."

Well that as an unfortunate outcome. He had hoped that he could get more out of the block before it disintegrated. At least he finally had a lead after so many months. Maybe he will finally be able to bring those who killed his father to justice. "No Ear- Ratchet, I didn't give you drugs. I'm going to have to head out if I want to get to the bottom of this so unfortunately you need to go home. Do you have a phone number I can contact you with if the need arises? Thank you again for bringing this to me."

    Block Head

Almost jumping in surprise his head did a literal 180 as he looked at the material. He thanked himself for putting it in a sealed container. Who knows what it could do? Apparently faces it would seem. This was almost certainly his design but for some reason someone or something decided to tamper with it. It either had mimicry or intelligence of some kind. Both horrifying in their own ways. If it was mimicry then how much could it mimic, just sound, or entire objects and people? New ideas about the benefits rushed into Mannequin's mind about all the possibilities to have extremely versatile adapting armor making it self the best for the situation but without strict and careful testing it would take months if not years to have a stable enough version. No, can't be mimicry. The missing tech would need a much higher time frame to achieve such results already so that left only one option...Who ever did this was an idiot. What possible reason would there be to give material thought? Did they just look at a wall one day and feel lonely? He'd understand if it was some type of shape shifting robot but no, they were using this to build buildings. Agitation rose steadily in Mannequin as he was baffled at the clear misuse of his tech. If they were going to steal something they could at least use it properly! "Earl, I'm going to have to ask for you to stand clear of the container. I am not sure if it is properly contained and would rather be on the safe side." Moving with caution towards the container Mannequin activated several of his labs safety protocols, mainly the fire suppression system. Yes his tech was altered but the fundamentals should be the same. True his ceramic is a marvel of ingenuity with it being highly resistant to blunt, cutting, and various other hazards it still had its downsides. Vibration and cold. Without the proper care the material's bonds will weaken. Not much but enough so that the right about of vibration could start breaking it down back into its goo-like state. Freezing it will speed up the process much more quickly. If the material ever breaks out of the container the lab will be doused instantly in extremely effective coolant. Not enough to hurt Earl but it should stop the material dead in its tracks. With a steady hand Mannequin tapped the Plexiglas and muttered "Do you think?"

"That doesn't make any sense. Surely if there were that many "accidents" the city's building inspector would shut it down due to unsafe work standards. No...This doesn't add up. If the company has cutting edge tech then they have to follow the same rules and regulations. Clearly they are not. I will investigate further into this but first I will need an hour or so to sees if there is anything online about the place before I go out. Thank you for your help in bringing this matter to me but I got to ask. Why me? I'm nowhere near the popularity of other Heroes or even science heroes, Dr. Deoxy is far more known than I am. So, why my?"

Putting it into an airtight Plexiglas container he found himself troubled. It has been many months of tracking down those who stole his work but not a single lead. This substance was very similar to his own and that worried him. "Earl...Where did you find this? Its very important for me to know. I appreciate you coming to me with this."

Seeing the ceramic melt raised Mannequin's hope that this wasn't just a random loon who somehow got past security. He didn't hate the guy or anything far from it. Mannequin enjoyed seeing something new and oddballs well, they were a type of new and different but regardless, if he just allowed anyone into his office he'd never get work done. He couldnt help the guy with being fired but he could help him with this strange ceramic goo. "This is pretty interesting. Not many things can go from a solid to a liquid that quickly." Stroking his chin mainly out of habit than discomfort. "Hmm, Well might as well take a closer look at it." Mannequin beings to poke and prod at the goop to see if it was stable enough for some of the more heavy lab equipment.

Staring as the man continued his rambling Mannequin's mind wandered...He remembered the good times only a few moments ago where he didnt have to deal with crazy people or their crazy antics. "Yes...I can "dig" it. You wouldnt happen to know whats in the box would you? I'd rather know its not full of snakes before opening it...You dig?"

Hearing the sounds of what appeared to be a common loon Mannequin resigned himself back to his delicate work. He had neither the time nor patience due to several hiccups in his work to be bothered. Thankfully he made it clear to his secretary Janet to not disturb him unless it was necessary. However Janet was a bleeding heart who couldn't say no at the best of times so Mannequin resigned himself for the inevitable abrupt arrival.
