  1. Setting the laptop down Mannequin scratched his chin and pondered for a moment. "The laptop hardly had anything that would help us, they may hate technology but they know it well enough to cover their tracks. Not sure what a scientist turned shut-in would be able to help us with on this." Taking another moment of consideration mannequin surveyed the house. It doesn't look like a house that has been raided so these thugs can easily do stealth operations if needed but that does beg the question Woodsman brought up, why go loud? "Woodsman has a good point, it doesn't make sense for them to go loud on this. They have stealth tech so they could of acted at any time and no one would know till it was too late. The only reason I can think of is that this is some sort of diversion to keep the heroes busy while the more important plan is underway. Given the fact the Sniper wasn't here only supports this. Don't think we will get much out of the thugs but it wouldn't hurt to try."
  2. After a surprisingly quick battle Mannequin made sure he didn't do any serious harm to the thug. Sure he was a criminal but Mannequin was anything but a killer. Satisfied that the thug will live He watched and waited as the Speedster tried the talking approach for about the dozen'd time; not that Mannequin could complain over someone trying to talk things out but these are cultists here, they arn't quite known for their honesty. Deciding to do something better with his time he went over towards the laptop they managed to dig up. If anyone can crack information out of this it would be Mannequin. In but mere minutes Mannequin suppressed a sigh as he was quickly coming to the conclusion that he was just wasting his time looking for any real information. Whoever was covering their tracks was good.
  3. My apologies I was just going over Mannequin's sheet and I'm not sure why I did this but his Notice should only be a +6 not +11. For some reason I saw the Notice 5 then the +6 and I guess I just added it. So the last roll would only be a 20, not sure if that changes anything and I will take away a Hero Point if you want. 6. When the blue flash overtook Mannequin one thought went through his head. Please don't teleport me into an active volcano. Thankfully when the flash ended he was still in one piece in what appeared to be a very lifeless Freedom. Mannequin scratched the back of his head before responding with a simple shrug to the fellow hero. "Looks like we are in the same boat here. Not quite sure were we are but it scans show that the cars are all fake...Perhaps this city is some sort of giant diorama of Freedom? Regardless it's safe to assume that we were targeted and are most likely being watched. We should seek high ground to get a better vantage point of the area.

  8. Well so much for following my idea of having them distract while I secure the hostages. Nevertheless when plans change you have to change with them or fail. If I cannot solve this with guile and tactics then I shall do so with overwhelming force and perseverance. With that Mannequin stayed low to the ground diving and sliding under cars without losing any speed until he was close enough to lung towards a hapless thug. With a sense of urgency Mannequin raised one arm in the air above the thug and brought the blade down like a guillotine aiming for the left shoulder blade.

  11. Mannequin would act surprised if he still had the face for it, regardless he was prepared for an obvious trap and as soon as the sniper's voice was heard he dove with Woodsman behind cover. "Scans are picking up a lot of movement. Seems like they are using some kind of cloaking....You have any way to see them? Regardless I need you to keep the sniper preoccupied while I stop secure the captives. Sound like a plan?" Suppressing a sigh Mannequin doubted Hyperactive's approach. We just talked about how we are dealing with crazy Amish cultists, I highly doubt that they are at all willing to make things peaceful during a kidnapping... Gotta give him credit for giving them an out at least. Just hope she doesn't reply by shooting him he's already been banged up as it is.
  12. Not quite sure what there is I could really do. We just got there and Hyper is scouting. I don't see any reason why Mannequin would engage before hearing from the speedster. Afterwards He'd prob stealth through the house just to be safe. The only thing I can think of doing is using radar to see if there is any movement inside the house or not but not sure if thats possible. If so let me know and I can roll a perception.
  13. "I see no reason why it would be. I'm built to handle all kinds of hazardous conditions after all." Mannequin said while giving a clanky thud on his chest piece. "If there are no other concerns then we best make haste before something...dire happens. Oh and Dr Raatle, it would be wise to stop using the android now and focus on your own person." Truthfully thought Mannequin wasn't quite sure how well his form would hold up to the sheer velocity and impact of the water hitting him. He was built to go upwards of 250MPH but anything beyond that wasn't tested. In addition to that when you are going at speeds that high the surface tension making hitting water like running into solid concrete and upwards of 10 minutes of constant pounding might be a concern...Regardless risks need to be taken from time to time if you were ever going to be a great superhero.
  14. "Only human?" Mannequin raised his shoulders up and down and chuckled. "Its bad taste for a scientist to make judgement without study first especially when dealing with other's work. With the way technology has gone in the last decade anything is possible and nothing is ever what it seems. I know I may not look like you but I am more human than that remote control drone you are using right now." "I don't think it would be wise to cross off Ray Kano so soon. The securities of the city's tech companies are irrelevant because he has proven to have already stolen from companies like Vision in the past. If they did it once they can do it again. We should look more into this."
  15. Mannequin shook his head "Don't know much about the insides of Vision Inc. I usually keep to myself and not worry about all the drama." Mannequin turned back to Raalte. ""Only visual and audio? That's...disappointing to hear. If you can figure out how to provide a full range of sense then you could help several handicapped live again. I should know; my work does the very same."
  16. This...Was not something I was expecting to see when Raatle wanted to show us his new 'toy'. I was expecting some sort of force-field or something along those lines but to have a remote controlled droid that looks exactly like you was something else all together. When I was still broken I did consider taking this direction with my work but in the end it just didn't seem natural to me. Even though I am all but machine except my brain I am still me. If I were to just sit at home and remote control a droid then there would be nothing to feel. There would be no reason to get excited jumping from building to building or fighting criminals, no fear over dying. No, in the end it wouldn't ever really be me and that defeats the whole point of why I wanted to remake myself. Wish I could remember dealing with this guy in the past though but alas can't remember anything. I was never the guy working side by side with people, more of the working in the sweet silence of solitude type. Mannequin drew his head closer to Raatle to gesture showing interest. "Fascinating. I haven't seen an android look so lifelike before but that does beg the question. How realistic does it feel? Rather had trouble myself working on fine tuning sensory input to such a precise scale."
  17. Mannequin nodded and gave a thumbs up. Hopefully now we will finally get some answers about this crazy cult and furthermore those who stole my tech. This might turn out to be a good day indeed.
  18. Wow they actually thought I just couldn't talk at all. I mean sure I don't have a mouth but they never really gave me a chance until now. At least now they probably know not to just run before I can talk to them. "Since I got here every time I have tried to speak you would run away before I could get anything out. It is very rude of you." Mannequin wages a finger at him to show disapproval. "Also don't talk much anyways. People seem to find my voice unsettling to say the least. Believe it or not people find me to be creepy. Not sure why though." He said while trying to scrap the back of his head.
  19. Of course Mannequin thought, it just had to be an evil Amish cult with some weird thing for eyes. Why couldn't it of been a standard evil villain who shows up causes some damage and then gets arrested. Atleast that way its just a one and done. Now though it seems there is a whole cult of people to take care of and since they are cultists they are also crazy. Dealing with crazy people is always much more tricky than the run of a mill henchman on a paycheck, you can understand them at least. This is going to be a long day it seems. Horridan waited while the Speedster stood there waiting for a reply. one second, two seconds, a whole three seconds have passed and the speedster was still there, no disappearing in a woosh of air or talking over anyone. He was just standing there. Could this finally be a time where he could actually talk to the Speedster? Or would it end with yet another disappointing woosh. Mannequin decided to take the chance. Mannequin's voice was anything but normal. It came off a mixture of beeps and buzzes forming syllables that were still easy to understand but left none of the emotion in the words. "No one else besides me. I agree that we should talk to Dr. Van Raalte. Regardless of whether or not he is behind it all he should have some answers. You took quite a fall back there. Will you be alright, or do you need some medical attention? I happen to know a few thing on how to patch people up."
  20. Mannequin would sigh if he still had lungs. It just seems that heroes these days are just not that friendly. Whether it be Hyperactive constantly leaving you mid sentence or Woodsman trying to play the all dark and mysterious they left a lot to be desired in allies when it came to making plans. For example we never said a word to each other on how we would deal with the captive. Would we be civil or rough, friendly or aggressive? In the end it looks like some good old grilling for information. Mannequin was never great at asking the right questions but he has come to realize in the recent months since his change that he is very effective at getting people to talk by staring at them long enough. With that Mannequin elongated his limbs to appear as dominating and overpowering as possible and tried his best to look very imposing down at the captive while standing behind the other two heroes. Just for some extra effect he adopted several twitches hoping to make himself appear less human than normal.

  22. Mannequin raised himself from the dropped Spotter and followed Hyperactive's lead in doing stretches after the battle. It didn't really have a point due to not having any muscles or ligaments but more so out of habit from before his transformation. This was actually one of the first real fights against other unique people he had been in and despite how his allies fared that managed to pull out a win in the end and that's all that really mattered. Hyperactive went off again for what seemed like the millionth time doing what he did best which just left him alone with the Archer. Not wanting to constantly call some random guy by what they did Mannequin went over and did his best to "stare" down at the Archer and do a friendly wave snapping his hand left to right like a metronome.
  23. All this banter, it made no sense to Mannequin. Why in the world would someone spout on about how they will beat them up and exactly how they are going to do so instead of just doing it? It just made no sense and gives the opponent more time to react than anything. Regardless it appears that the Archer is safe for now and the Speedster is trying his best to not stand there. This seemed like a perfect time to strike again at the Spotter's hands with a well placed blade.
