Ok its mystic Mayhem time folks.

The ghostly mystic presence of the Hotel, and Rene's art, plus possible other psionic forces equals...

The paintings coming alive. ALIVE!

Quite how you would like your artistic nemesis to be is up to you. They will be relatively unintelligent, and encapsulate something about your psyche. They are not necessarily hostile, but they might be mischivious, randy, curious, etc.

Finally, they will be immune to your own powers!

...it's tough to think of a caricature of Crow without it being somewhat politically insensitive. :P Any ideas?

It would be a caricature of what Rene sees, and I doubt he sees any politically insensitive things in Crow. I'm thinking Etain might be shown as hilariously dainty or even more to the edge of 'lady like'.

Arcane Knowledge rolls:

DC 20: Its magical, something to do with Rene's abilities.

DC 25: Its the effect of the house. There are powerful paintings in the Hotel, and paintings contain magic.

DC 30: The paintings are a representation of your unconscious. Possibly activated by the psionic hero in your midst...

Etain does Paralyze 12 area attack on everybody, DC 22 reflex, if it's made, DC 16 will, if not DC 22 Will.

I'm only going to peripherally steer this, so carry on as you have - the painting "you"'s are largely under your control (narrative wise) unless you do something totally spaced out!.

Myrmidons' Will Save vs. DC 22 Paralyze Total = 9 (Fail by 10+ = Paralyzed)

Painting!Myrmidons Saves

Myrmidons' Ref. Save vs DC 22 Paralyze Total = 25 (Nat 20! Success)

Notes: I'm a bit rusty on the 2E rules, but doesn't a natural 20 basically means he auto-succeeds against the will effect as well? Regardless, I'll roll his secondary save as well, just in case.

Myrmidons' Will Save vs. DC 16 Paralyze Total = 9 (Fail by 5+ = Slowed)

Notes: In case it's needed.

If I remember correctly a natural 20 just means you automatically make the reflex roll (not avoid it alltogether). So, effect goes down to 1/2 rank.

Paint!Etain uses nullify mental effects to undo the paralyze, than uses her move action to walk inside so she can go to Parkhurst's indoor pool.

Nullify needs an opposed power check (and normally attack roll, but versus an unresisting, paralysed target lets waive that!).

Pool trip is fine!

Hah, guess the house is going to take care of him as Etain is going to inform the ghosts. SHe's not gonna ask them to attack her doppleganger because her doppleganger could actually hurt the ghosts (Etain has affect insubstaincial, and Myr, doesn't).

So, what do you guys think Etain being tired of messing with this and just asking Custos to expell the magical creatures for her?
