Avenger Assembled
Both Doctor Archeville and Dark Star notice an unusual field of energy beginning to emanate from Odysseus' armor, a low hum just audible beginning from the magically-enhanced metal. Link to comment
Dr Archeville
Some flavor of Knowledge check to see if Doc can tell what kind of field of energy it is? Link to comment
Avenger Assembled
Arcane Lore, I think. Link to comment
Avenger Assembled
Why, that appears to be someone attempting to open a portal in the Cosmic Coil itself! Link to comment
Avenger Assembled
Haven't forgotten this one. You guys have surprised me, I'm thinking about what to do next. :D Link to comment
Dr Archeville
People with an Int of 30 tend to do surprising things ;) Link to comment
Avenger Assembled
Odysseus has spent an HP on his Ultimate Bluff and so has a Sense Motive DC higher than you fine gentleman can make. Link to comment
Cyroa
LOL DS is naive enough to have just believed the guy straight out from the spiel! "People might/possibly/could be in danger? You want me to follow you to help them. Oh, ok!" It's basically a minor complication that I'm playing for for and eventually will fade away once he gets some sense smacked into him! :) Link to comment
Avenger Assembled
All right, gentlemen, this time I can actually run the plot successfully whichever way you go. But you must go! :D Link to comment
Avenger Assembled
Gentlemen! DC 20 on the check to know the real names of the Crimson Katana and Baron Samedi. Also, I need a Notice check from Dr. Archeville. Link to comment
Cyroa
what skill would the DC 20 be? straight IQ? Link to comment
Avenger Assembled
Oh, I would think History, Streetwise, or Current Events would do the job for you. Link to comment
Dr Archeville
With his Cthulhoid Brain set to Enhanced Int, Doc can get a 20 by taking 10 on any untrained Knowledge check. Assuming things are calm enough for him to Take 10. And Taking 10 on a Notice check -- again, assuming things are calm enough to do so -- also gets a 20. Link to comment
Avenger Assembled
Dr. Archeville knows who those people are. He also hears Medea's voice ringing loud and clear in his head, terror in her voice like he'd never thought to hear from the evil sorceress: "KEEP YOUR FACE STILL! DON'T GO WITH HIM!" Link to comment
Cyroa
Heh I failed! DS is clueless as to who they are. ;) Link to comment
Dr Archeville
Hrrmmm... Bluff check to keep a poker face up? Link to comment
Avenger Assembled
If you like. Your DC is 20. Odysseus is crafty. Link to comment
Dr Archeville
... Archeville is not as crafty (7). *HP to re-roll* (2 HPs now) Archeville is craftier (23) ;) Link to comment
Cyroa
DS is clueless... Skills is next on xp spending spree. ;) Link to comment
Cyroa
question: Does DS know anything about Farsiders? from my reading, I thought they were basically 'good' guys just isolationists. and using senses to search/snoop. Link to comment
Avenger Assembled
Dark Star is From the Depths of Space, so he knows a little about the Farsiders automatically. They've had occasional moments of villainy when the wicked Lady Lunar seized power and ruled them as an absolute monarch, but for the most part they're basically a nice if isolationist people. They're the sort of people who would say hello if Dark Star passed by, but wouldn't invite him in for dinner. Link to comment
Dr Archeville
Setting E.S. to Super-Senses 5 (Acute Analytical Radius Tracking Detect Dimensional Frequency). Or something like that. And, no, he doesn't have a "Transdimensional Communication & Transfer System"... but he could probably build one Plus, the readings can be put to other uses ("the sites of all these battles has traces of otherdimensional radiation, of the same frequency as Odysseus' home dimension!") Cyroa
Thanks. Also, I'm assuming I don't hear any of that telepathic conversation going on... Link to comment
Avenger Assembled
You are correct, Dark Star. (Even this Medea isn't very nice, and is inclined to think that obvious non-humans like Dark Star are inferior in one way or another.) Link to comment
