RocketLord Posted September 6 Author Posted September 6 Alright, Draco's question has been answered IC, so let's see some initiative rolls @Dracostern and @Poncho!
Poncho Posted September 6 Posted September 6 Initiative Results 1d20+7: 9 [1d20=2] Man I can't catch a good Initiative roll.
RocketLord Posted September 6 Author Posted September 6 Big Brain: 33 Apparation: 26 Spaceman: 5 Slow heroes are slow. The Big Brain won't fight directly for now The Apparation moves towards Cerebellum and attacks: 26 That's a hit, @Dracostern give me a DC21 Fort save vs. Stun for Cerebellum, and then you're up with Cerebral. 33 - Big Brain Projection - Unharmed 26 - Apparation - Unharmed 17 - Cerebral - 2HP - Unharmed 9 - Golden Star - 2HP - Unharmed 5 - Spaceman - 4HP - Unharmed 3 - Cerebellum - Unharmed
Dracostern Posted September 6 Posted September 6 Oh no jo, that's a 5! (He didn't get time to throw up the Forcefield oh noes!) Cerebral is going to throw up her own Forcefield then see if she can figure out a way to cut off the projection, since she would know BB isn't actually there. (if possible)
RocketLord Posted September 10 Author Posted September 10 @Dracostern You get 10, not 5, since the Fortitude Save isn't dependent on your Force Field, but failing by more than 10 vs. Stun means an instant KO, I'd suggest spending a HP to reroll that save! As far as the Projection, as a psychic yourself you'd at least guess that the only way to get rid of him would be to overwhelm him with your own psychic powers in some way.
Dracostern Posted September 11 Posted September 11 Ok yeah I'm going to use a HP for this. Ok that's better 19 As for Iris, she is going to try and send a mental blast at the skeleton. Make a Will save (DC 23)
RocketLord Posted September 13 Author Posted September 13 Will Save: 20, so a Mental Bruise. Give me an IC @Dracostern 33 - Big Brain Projection - Unharmed 26 - Apparation - Bruise (x1) 17 - Cerebral - 2HP - Unharmed 9 - Golden Star - 2HP - Unharmed 5 - Spaceman - 4HP - Unharmed 3 - Cerebellum - Unharmed
Dracostern Posted September 13 Posted September 13 Alright, I'm going to put both twin's reaction to this on the same post before Cerebral's turn.
Poncho Posted September 17 Posted September 17 going ahead and just putting in the action that Michael will take Tracey out of here for now and let Parker handle helping the Twins
RocketLord Posted October 8 Author Posted October 8 @Poncho saving Tracy gets you a HP, but you'll have to spend a Movement action to get back into the fight on your turn. For ease of posting, I'll move Cerebellum up to take his turn after Cerebral, since that's all heroes in order anyway. Parker is going to try to Paralyze the Apparation, which is a DC19 Reflex Save, which it just makes by getting a total 19. Big Brain continues to power up the Apparation. The Apparation strikes back by attacking Cerebral. Spaceman interposes for that: 21, which is a hit, meaning Parker will have to do a 21 Fort Save. Fort Save: 27, tanked. Then @Dracostern is up! 33 - Big Brain Projection - Unharmed 26 - Apparation - Bruise (x1) 17 - Cerebral - 1HP - Unharmed 17 - Cerebellum - Unharmed 9 - Golden Star - 2HP - Unharmed 5 - Spaceman - 4HP - Unharmed
Dracostern Posted October 12 Posted October 12 Might be smart to put the twins together if everyone is ok with it. But yes, they are going to try focus on the Big Brain. Daniel will use Teamwork to help Iris blast the thing with Psychic energy (Mind Blast?)
RocketLord Posted November 12 Author Posted November 12 @Dracostern You can do that, but it won't do much, since Teamwork grants either an Attack or Defense bonus against an opponent, and your Mind Blast is perception ranged, without an attack roll. You could use a Combined Attack (Core book p. 155), which could potentially add +2 to the DC.
Dracostern Posted November 13 Posted November 13 Ahh I see, alright if possible, I would like to use Combined Attack!
RocketLord Posted November 13 Author Posted November 13 Go for it, these are the rules: Quote Multiple attackers can attempt to combine their attacks to overwhelm an opponent’s defenses. The attackers must all delay to the same point in the initiative order (that of the slowest character). Each attacker makes a normal attack roll against the target. Take the largest save DC modifier of the attacks that hit, and for each other attack within 5 points of that attack’s bonus that hits, add +2. The attacks must all require the same type of saving throw in order to combine, for example attacks doing damage (requiring a Toughness save) can combine, but not with a Mental Blast or a Stun effect, which do not call for Toughness saves. Although a combined attack is similar to aiding someone (see page 154) it is not the same, and bonuses applying to aid do not apply to combined attacks. So, since you got Perception, they should hit automatically, so that's a DC25 Will Save, but unfortunately, the Big Brain saves with a Will Save at 28. Give me an IC @Dracostern, then @Poncho is next
Dracostern Posted November 25 Posted November 25 I want to reply here but I'm kind of unsure how to- I assume just...nothing happens yeah?
Poncho Posted November 27 Posted November 27 well, I don't know exactly how to break the connection, just yet, but I do have eye lasers. So I'm going to shoot an eye laser at the Apparition for now! Eye Lasers at Apparition Results 1d20+10: 24 [1d20=14] If that hits, it's DC 23 Toughness.
RocketLord Posted Friday at 08:52 PM Author Posted Friday at 08:52 PM That's a hit, but unfortunately, the Apparation gets a 27 for the save. Switching Personal Space Control Array to Super-Strength and Space Control Array to Elongation/Enhanced Strength. Parker is gonna go in and punch the Apparation, since he can't do much to a psychic projection: 17, which is not enough for a hit, so I'll spend a HP to reroll for a 14, which becames 24 and a hit. TOU save vs. DC24: 24, just makes it. Parker uses Improved Grab to initiate a grapple at 36, which the Apparation resists with 24, so he's pinned Big Brain continues to boost the Apparation, who attacks Spaceman with a Stun, which is an automatic hit in the grapple. Rolling Fort save vs. DC 21: 15... that's two 1's in a row for Parker and he's Stunned, which means the Apparation is no longer grappled. @Dracostern is up. 33 - Big Brain Projection - Unharmed 26 - Apparation - Bruise (x1) 17 - Cerebral - 1HP - Unharmed 17 - Cerebellum - Unharmed 9 - Golden Star - 2HP - Unharmed 5 - Spaceman - 4HP - Unharmed, Stunned (no Dodge Bonus, Def-2, can only take reactions)
Dracostern Posted Friday at 08:53 PM Posted Friday at 08:53 PM Ok Rocket, be honest with me, is there anything either of the twins can do to the Brain Projection?
RocketLord Posted Friday at 08:56 PM Author Posted Friday at 08:56 PM Responding is a bit metagaming, but the twins both know the Big Brain, and they know that he is incredibly powerful. The distance might have helped, but it doesn't seem like it, so maybe it is better to try to break the connection that let him find you somehow, or deal with the Apparation.
Dracostern Posted Saturday at 07:17 PM Posted Saturday at 07:17 PM Oh right that is meta gaming, my bad- sorry I would have had them both focus on the projection because they are getting emotional, but I feel like that would waste my turn.
RocketLord Posted Saturday at 07:23 PM Author Posted Saturday at 07:23 PM You could always try something else @Dracostern. Like, the Big Brain is clearly empowering the Apparation, so maybe try to do something to break that bond? Distract him or do a power stunt that might help?
