    Crikey!

Alicia Moore was quite curious about the animal exhibit of Australian baby animals. She had heard so many scary stories about Australian wildlife, but these things were just cute little things. Though it was getting late, she would soon have to retire to her home in the Theatre District after a while and do her heroic duty of patroling her turf for the night until she got tired. She tried not to make too much of a scene. People in Freedom City were mostly acustom to strange power types, though she got a few looks and questions. She talked with the people, but mainly tried to enjoy the animals being showed off. Her favorite was the little Tasmanian devils. They were a scrappy type nocturnal creature and were just waking up. Though the animals got spooked after the roar, the devils roared back at their oppressors. Alicia turned to see what was the commotion. It was six very large feline creatures. If she were to guess they looked like prehistoric cross between lions and tigers. Luckily they were a ways away, she had time to intercept them.

    Crikey!

Tuesday, May 15, 2012 The day was ending in Liberty Park. The sun was setting. The air was the right mix of warm and cool here no one was uncomfortable. Everyone was happy. Especially happy since the Hanover Zoo was showing off some exotic baby animals of the Australian type! Koalas and kangaroos! Platypi and Tazmanian devils! Dingoes and wombats! All of them were so very cute and tiny. You could even pet them! Though there was evil afoot on this evening. Something not so cute and tiny. No one saw it coming, but from out of nowhere, giant feline beasts roared off in the distance. The citizens saw this and were sore afraid! Some fled, others could not as they were terrified of the charging savage animals! Luckily for the people, this happened to be Freedom City. You can't go anywhere without a hero in the distance. And as such, three heroes were in the area.
  6. Alicia smiled and nodded appreciatively when Fleur complimented her power. "Sorry, I don't know about metaphysics," she said looking at Fluer with a wordless question about holding the child. She didn't seem to mind, so Alicia picked up the flower child very carefully and cradled her. "I wasn't born with powers, I just curled up into a cocoon one day and then a month later I emerged a different person." She lightly touched the baby's nose in a playful game that the child seemed to enjoy while she talked to her mother. "Though I do find it hard to work in crowded areas or with partners. The spores don't discriminate. That's why I carry a sidearm just in case. It's not with me now, but i can cover it with spores and it works just as well."

    Crikey!

I've been thinking of some filler stories. One involves a mad scientist experimenting on animals and turning them into horrible beasts! First part, obviously, would be engaging some poor rampaging things. Giant feline creatures that used to be kittens? We don't know! We have to find who did this! So somehow after handling the problem, we'd need to find who was responsible for such horribleness. I have a beginning and an end, who wants to help me fill the middle? I'll take one or two partners in the PL10ish area, nothing too high or low. I'd also like for the participants to be out-of-school age. Nothing against the younger PCs, but I'd like for my character to meet with people her age.

  9. "Thank you very much," Alicia said with an upbeat tone, "Any help would be appreciated!" She stood up, looking around as to judge the wind. It wasn't that bad. "As for what I can do," she curtsied as if she were giving a school play and then let her hands rest on her hips. She wasn't used to impromptu shows, but for this? She would make an exception. "First off, the sweet smell you smell coming from my wings? It's tiny little spore things. Now when I really want to use them," her wings began to flap a little faster, bringing about a fresher scent. "This is one of the tamer uses. These spores heal. I can also use them to change attitudes, stun and paralyze. There's probably someone more technical than me that could explain that, something about biochemical reactions. But yeah, I'm not a scientist."

Butterfly will take the third spot :)
  11. Alicia wondered if the plants that Fleur grew were even real. She nudged a new formed dandelion non-chalantly before the baby began feasting on them. Well, at least it feels real. I can only imagine all the third world countries that could be helped with this type of power. Barren soil growing all kinds of crops. Would it be rude to ask that sort of thing? I'll just leave the question of ethical uses of powers for a later date. She cocked her head to the side at the revelation of Fleur's hair actually being alive. Well, most of it. Would explain why it's so long. I bet it hurts to cut. Or maybe it's like an apendage. That's as long as it will get. Else she's be looking like green Cousin It by now. She smiled and nodded at the haircare regiment. I guess if it was alive it'd have to eat. She sighed happily turning her head to see the baby still having a wonderful time and then back to Fleur. She enthusiastically nodded along with the part about no battle being to small. She didn't want to sound like a yesperson, but she did agree with her. What Alicia did was small stuff, but it still helped someone. Besides, the cameras were for elsewhere. "Yeah, the protector in us all has to wake up some time." She mentally noted that. That was so going on her Facebook wall. "Still," she said sitting up and letting her wings move a bit and filling the air with a sweet smell, "The parks do look beautiful."
  12. Yup, looking for something to do. You can read about Butterfly here
  13. Alicia watched the trail of hair flow down. It didn't seem to quit. It flowed like normal hair, but it seemed to act like grass. It even got greener as they were talking! Alicia knew there were wonderful things in this world to behold, she was happy to see this one. "I do wonder how much shampoo goes into that. You'll just have to tell me your styling secrets," she said with a reverent smile. She shook her head, "pay no attention to my silly barbs, I'm actually in awe of your mane." Alicia leaned back on her hands looking to Fleur, "So, park beautification. Is that a thing you do all spring? Or is a pre-spring thing and let nature take it's course?" She paused for a moment to watch Fluer laying on her back. She realized she was staring too long at the whole scene of the lovely plant woman basking in the sun. She had to think of something! "As for the secret war type stuff, I'm sure you have tales to tell. Though I'm not going to push you into that if you don't want."
  14. Alicia enjoyed Fleur's modesty. It was a breath of fresh air these days. Alicia was in the business of promotion so she didn't get much time to practice the low key style. "Just a few heroes, actually. Only a couple of actual villain threats," she said leaning back on her hands as she watched the child happily roll around in the grass. She looked back to Fleur, "I guess there is no ranking system, but the few I have ran into I haven't heard about on the news. Not to be dismissive of their exploits! If you're here to help people, you're good for everyone, you know?"
  15. Alicia watched with reserved glee as the ground turned back into it's natural green color.Maybe she was the spirit of nature. There was a guy running around who claimed to be a city spirit, so you never knew! She almost hated that she had to cover it with the cover. Though the thought of sitting with the bugs and dirt overweighed that remorse. Unrolling the quilt, she sat it down and wordlessly offered Fleur a seat with a hand motion while sitting her basket down in front of herself. Alicia nodded at the comment on the weather. A bit breezy for her tastes, but that's the early spring morning for you. She sat with her legs closed and to the side where she wasn't exactly sitting on her legs. She watched the green-haired babe crawled all over the green grass. It was an amusing sight. She turned back to Fleur when she asked about her. Certainly she was not shy about new people, though neither was Alicia. "That I am," she said definitely. "These past few months I've been trying to juggle my personal life with work and being a crime fighter." She smiled, "You must have this thing in the bag though. Normal life enough to have a little one and be on the premier world saving team."
  16. Alicia nodded appreciatively and shook Fleur's hand when offered. "Thank you kindly, Fleur de Joie," she said reverently, "Your baby is adorable." She curtsied, "I'm a new hero, actually. I've been around since November. My name is Butterfly. I know, not the most creative, but it's done me well." She paused for a second, "Though if you've kept up with fashion magazines in the past few years, you'd probably know me better from that." She smiled again, "Forgive me, for being jumpy with my words. This meeting is very much a surprise." She tapped the quilt as to motion it to the ground, "Do you mind if we sit?"
  17. "So this must be he attraction," Alicia said quietly as she watched the tree grow right before her eyes. The whole smell of magnolia was amplified for her as she wasn't ready for it, though it was not an unwelcome smell. It made her quite hungry. Luckily she had brought a picnic for herself. And then a woman, like the spirit of the Earth itself, popped out of a flower with a child. Alicia knew who this was. She'd seen the things the plant woman had done on the news. It isn't every day you meet someone who's saved the world. Alicia smiled when Fleur de Joie greeted her. "Yeah. Sorry about that," she laughed lightly, "I hope I'm not interrupting anything. I just saw this beautiful park from afar and just had to sit down and have lunch here." She had a quilt and a small basket in hand. Her dress was a long-sleeved, knee-length daydress with a red swirled pattern and no back. "if you need me to move out of the way, I can," she said trying to sound respectful of the Fleur.
  18. March 18, 2012 Alicia was digging the weather warming up. Today specifically was a perfect day. Something that had to be gone out and taken in every bit. A day in the park was on her agenda today. Sure, Theatre District didn't have Liberty Park, but there were a bunch of smaller parks spread throughout. In fact, Freedom City was full of little parks that you could find all sorts of thinks to do in. Some had performance artists, others had little monuments to fallen heroes, still others had small bazaars. This one she had found looked like a flower garden during the warm spring and summer months. It looked a little unkempt though. Surely there was some work here to be done.
  19. Alicia woke up kind of tired. Cold weather always did that to her. Luckily the cold months were almost over. She unfurled herself from the foetal position she had been laying in and stretchyawned. She always wondered how she slept. Sometimes she'd wake up on her side, sometimes on her stomach. Though never on her back, her wings prevented that. Wiping her eyes and shaking her head she bounded off for the shower. Another thing about cold weather that bummed her is that she had to wear a jacket or coat. Something to over her top half. Which meant getting specially made stuff. That wasn't the problem. The problem was that no matter how well made it was, they always felt restrictive on her wings. Her outfit for today was her regular red blouse and skirt (the longer one, due to the weather), but covered by a red wool long coat. Other than that, today was just perfect. No business today, so she had to find other ways to entertain herself. She decided to make a day plan. A matinee showing of the Lorax was first on the list. After that she WOULD have went to lunch at Champions, but fate intervened. It was a familiar sound. Not hat she heard it often, but one of the sounds that made her see the light. A bank alarm. Without question or even word, she flew as fast as she could towards the scene. It was time to put the mundane behind her and be a hero.
  20. Changed up the first part of the history as you suggested.
  21. Player Name: Magic Character Name: Butterfly Power Level: 10 (150/153PP) Trade-Offs: None Unspent Power Points: 3 Progress To Bronze Status: 3/30 In Brief: An ugly duckling turns into a beautiful butterfly. Turns out beauty isn't all it's cracked up to be. Uses her new powers to fight crime. Alternate Identity: Alicia Moore Identity: Public, kind of hard to hide two giant wings. Birthplace: Freedom City Occupation: Model Affiliations: None Family: Franklin Moore (father), Jessica Green (mother) Description: Age: 23 (DoB: September 1988) Apparent Age: early twenties Gender: Female Ethnicity: Caucasian Height: 5 foot 5 inches Weight: 130 pounds Eyes: blue Hair: reddish-brown Her skin is flawless without spots and her skin tone seems always beach ready. Her face is round and her eyes are almond. Her nose is perfectly straight and her lips are thin. Due to her wings, her long straight hair is always in front. She has an amazing figure, more blessed up top but with ample bottom. Due to her fighting training, she carries herself gracefully, but aware of everything happening. She seems to be always smiling, never letting anything get her down. The wings are red with black lining and several white spots(seen here). They reach five foot on each side (for a ten foot wingspan!) The wings feel slightly wet to the touch. When she moves them there is a slight perfume smell. Her clothes consist of backless shirts due to her wings and skirts of upper thigh to knee length. They are mostly red these days to match her wings. It's become sort of her iconic look. Not that she has a costume (it would be impossible to hide her identity now), but everyone knows her as a lady in red. She happily goes along with it. Power Descriptions: The big one is her wings she uses them to fly. Can't get more descriptive than that! She also uses her wings for another purpose. They secrete tiny spores that have different effects. Her olfactory senses are hyped up due to her butterfly physiology, her nose and mouth act as her antennae. Her sword is a katana, she has taken swordfighting lessons for years. She can coat the sword with spores to take on single targets when a certain means of finesse is needed. History: Alicia Moore is the daughter of Franklin Moore and his now ex-wife, Jessica. Jessica wasn't expecting a child and certainly didn't want to take care of it. The help raised Alicia more than her parents did. When he was run out of office, Jessica and Franklin were divorced. Though that was the least of his problems. Jessica handed all the rights to the unwanted child over to him without argument. Instead of sticking the child in an orphanage, he kept it. He wanted at least ONE person in the world to understand him. And he thought she would be his voice to the future generation. Alicia was, in no uncertain words, an ugly child. It was the look only a parent could love. While the constant teasing of other children bore in on her (it was particularly hellish in private school), it didn't get her spirits down. She always found a reason to be upbeat. Though, she was just bottling up her rage and frustration under a veneer of happiness. It all came to a head one day in ninth grade, her classmates found out who her father was after she made some awkward comments in her oral report about all heroes being vigilantes. She was viciously assaulted after school After that she was pulled out of the school system and taught at home. She took defense classes and learned how to use a weapon, a japanese sword, to protect herself. Everything went fine from then on. She had an outlet to direct her rage at. Franklin instilled more hate into her because of the incident. But it all came to a screeching halt on her eighteenth birthday. She didn't feel well and went to bed early that night. When the morning came and the house help came to check on her, they found a large cocoon hanging from the ceiling! They showed it to Franklin. After raging a massive fit and crying his eyes out that his daughter was one of "them" (something he could not be). He told them to leave it there. He kept constant vigil over the thing and the incident was kept hush (except for a few crazy rag mags reporting on it to make the theory look crazy). It was a month later when the cocoon broke. What stepped out of the cocoon was totally different than what was in it. Alicia's whole body type had changed. She was very much the opposite of ugly. The "caterpillar" had become the "butterfly". Figuratively AND literally. She had butterfly wings. At first she was shocked. Franklin nearly fainted. That was when she found out the wings were more than just decoration. When she wanted her father to calm down her wings fluttered and tiny shiny spores came out and all over the area. And all was calm. This stoked her even more. It was like the cocoon erased all of her problems! After a long heated talk with her father she was ousted from the homestead. He was under the impression that she would become a vigilante no matter what. Even after all those years of him teaching her not to buy into the hype. She didn't care though. She had better things to do though. Her first stop, after taking a psuedonym, was Hollywood. The whole scene seemed to fit her. It was ecstatic and people were artificially pretty. She drowned in the atmosphere. A few low budget flicks later, she had found her calling... in modelling (that is to say she was very pretty, but not a good actress!). It was very lonely though, sure she had tons of friends, but none of it felt real. She tried to fill the void with everything she could find, but nothing worked. Her looks could only get her so far. It was a couple months after her twenty-third birthday when Alicia finally got fed up with it and came home. Her father still didn't accept his mutant daughter. Though it was a run in with one of the locals that ignited her passion again. Not for cheap thrills, but a sense of justice. A child approached her and told her that there were bad men robbing the bank. She felt a swell in her chest, like it was her job to protect this child. to protect everyone. She rushed to the bank and tried to calm the situation, but her spores did something different this time! Everyone in the area was knocked out! She called the police and tald them the situation. And then she left. Ever since that November she's taken stock in her life in what she wants to do. She still models to pay the bills, but she truly wants to be a hero more than anything. Personality & Motivation: Alicia has mellowed out in the past few months. She's learned that using her looks to get everything is straight up boring and sometimes pretty dangerous. Oh, she's still perky to the point of energetic, but no more does she throw caution to the wind. The hero gig is a new thing to her, she does it because it's the right thing to do, no matter what her father thinks. Powers & Tactics: She's made to take out large groups. She flies above and sheds spores on them and then zips away. She'll do it until they're all down. When there are civilians or teammates around she uses her sword skills enhanced by her spores. Complications: Giant Wings: They're not totally rigid like real butterfly wings, but having a ten foot wingspan is bound to get in the way! Infamous Relative: Franklin Moore is her father. Instantly Noticeable: "The girl with the butterfly wings." Not too many of those around! Spores: The area effects won't affect anyone who doesn't need to breathe.
