  1. "My feelings exactly, Covalent!" said the King of Suits merrily, though with a slight edge of nervousness that revealed his rattled nerves. He had heard the grind of metal as the guillotine fell as soon as the other two, but had spent the fractured second Mala Suerte and Revenant had used to leap away looking wildly in nearly every direction but up. Thus he had leaped away from the guillotine more to avoid Mala than to dodge the falling blades. "I'm the King of Suits, pleased to meet you two. The Conqueror Worm is an anarchist who wants to hurt people for no sound reason. I would raise a fuss about such young people as you wandering the filthy sewers alone, but that would be deeply hypocritical. We would welcome your help in capturing the Conqueror Worm, do you have any idea where they are, or where their bases in the sewers might be?" he smiled politely, carefully wiping a piece of some unnameable filth from his left sleeve.

    Four Kings(OOC)

I will use an absurdly cunning strategy: King will try to K.O. The closest alien with his bare hands. 18 is the Attack, 22 is the Damage. Intimidate check to get the Alien Badwrong Fellas to stand down and stop shooting at Marcy. 19. -5 due to it being a Move action, so 14 it is.
  3. With a flourish, the Kingof Suits drew out his grapple gun and aimed it at the roof of the factory, only to stop and ask "Should we set up a system of signals, so I can let you know what I find without having to come back here and go back and forth? I think it would help speed up the investigation, but your call. Also, it would help to know what precisely I'm looking for" Out of habit he began to neatly roll his beard through a series of metal rings he took from his fingers under his gloves, watching attentively for Mad Dog's response.
  4. "Well" offered the King of Suits cautiously "If you're agreeable to it, perhaps I could attack from above them while you provide an aggressive distraction. What I'm thinking of is that you might draw their attention to you, and should they leave their posts to attack you, I'll try to temporarily blind and deafen them with these flash/bangs I have" A quick look back at the guards confirmed to Marceau their vigilance. "Should that prove ineffective I could toss a smoke bomb at their feet, and we could then use that respite to ambush them when they try to get out of the smoke" he shrugged a little. " Of course, that's just thinking about fighting them, which you did say was inadvisable, so I suggest in that vein a distraction done by myself to draw them from their posts while you slip in through a back door or a window or something. We'll hammer out the details after a quick recon if you think either of those might work"
  5. I think that in this case we should say that Zach's Interpose is either A) carried out, with him placing himself between some other peril than the the potential crash(as you said, Jeena did make the DEX save) which I can BS into existence, B: we ignore the DEX save and I Fiat that Jeena still stands in peril(this has loads of problems and is unoptimal) allowing Zach to carry out his Interpose as normal, or C), Zach's Interpose leads to a Comedic Situation where he 'saves' Jeena from the blades even though she already managed to avoid danger. As I'm hardly the most experienced player, I'll defer to your and Quote's judgement as to which(if any) of these options best suits you.
  6. As the three humans and the unseen Tektani approached the side tunnel, and were about to step throuqgh the round pseudo-doorway that led into it, a slight rasp of metal sounded from above in the darkness. With a harsh scraping sound, a gigantic three-bladed guillotine came crashing down towards the floor directly before the open mouth of the tunnel. It took only a decent amount of athleticism to evade it, so much had the rust and grim decreased its speed, but the blades forced aside a massive amount of air as they traveled, causing a vortex of air to form above it that blew air through the tunnels for the first time in centuries, and attracted a large amount of the lighter debris to it, and even began sending Jeena hurtling towards the blades!
  7. Understood, sorry for the misunderstanding. The damage is indeed physical(either getting cut by rusting blades or having them drop onto you from the ceiling).
  8. Marceau glanced over at the wall next to him on Mala Suerte's advice, and saw the markings that oh-so-subtly showed the crowned worm leading two hooded figures over a dead body while pointing at the side-tunnel. For some reason the markings had the tunnel baring fangs. Said markings were easily spotted by the three humans and Jeena. "Well" said the King of Suits brightly "Let's get a move on then, no sense hanging about" and he politely gestured for Revenant to lead the way, resuming his place behind Mala Suerte. He caught a glimpse of his soiled cape and cringed at the inevitable laundry bill he would run up with it. He wondered dismally why he even bothered wearing a cape, until he recalled that he kept many supplies in sleeves scattered evenly on the underside.

The young Frenchman dodged the first shots with some ease, making him once again prey to taking one chance too many and not stepping aside as fast as he should have. Forced backwards a step by the shock of the blast, Marceau looked in dismay at the sizzling gash the shot had cut into his armor. Well, they seem to have powerful(though somewhat innaccurate) weapons. Got to beat them quickly so they don't have a chance to try that again! Leaping to the left of one of the aliens he jabbed at them with his fist, hoping the blow would have sufficient impact to incapacitate them.
  10. Right, right, sorry. A large three-bladed guillotine is about to crash down on the spot where the entry to the side-tunnel is. The powerful wind displacement would suck Jeena straight into the blade if she wasn't able to shelter herself from it. If you Interpose you run the risk of being hit by the blades as they begin to retract and break off from the rod holding them.
  11. In this case, if you want to Interpose you may and the attack hits you unless you re-roll and get a passing score, as per usual. Seeing as the group is targeted with an attack, an Interpose is valid.
  12. King's saves. Notice: 29, Dex is 15. Alright, IC and GM posts will go up shortly.
  13. No, neither Zach nor Jeena need to make those rolls.
  14. Alright, now I need a Notice check, DC 10, and then a DEX save, DC 12, for the trio in the main tunnel once a decision is reached.

TOU check is: 13, man that's bad. And I just might need to re-roll using all my HP for this one fight. Burning a HP, re-roll is 16. Add 10 and that makes it 26. Barely make it!

Drawing backward for the briefest of moments, Marceau kicked off of the sand, flying towards the alien he had just disarmed. Curling his fingers around the strange, lumpy pistol, he struck the creature in black with all the force he could muster, his fist strengthened by the core of metal he gripped. The blow struck true, and one of the beings crashed onto the reddening sands, a crisp wind blowing a faint plume of the grit into the air nearby. Retreating neatly, Marceau once again positioned himself between the aliens and Ford. "Come on!" he snapped "Either leave immediately and settle your dispute in our courts or join your comrade!"

Attacking Unarmed: 22. Damage if it hits: 39. Ouch. EDITED.

Lunging forward, Marceau swung his left fist into the hand of the closest alien(for now he knew them fully to be!), knocking their pistol into the air. Catching it as he jumped backwards, he pointed it fully at the one who had spoken, declaring furiously "You've got another thing coming, pal! If you want to enforce your laws, take it to our courts, try to commit a murder on our watch and face the Defenders of Earth! Prepare yourselves for battle!" He knew that he couldn't hope to beat them all with just one of their weird guns, but he wasn't about to lie down and let them get away with attempting to kill an entire plan full of passengers!

    Four Kings(OOC)

It'd be silly going into the first fight to expect to win it! Anway, an attempt to Disarm to the pistol-wielder: the Attack is 25, and the Disarm is 29.

Out of the corner of his eye, Marceau saw four passengers he recalled seeing on the plane. At the time, their black clothing and similar features hadn't sruck him as odd, but now he very greatly doubted they were up to any good. To Ford, he said quickly "We'll sort this out in a moment, just let me take care of these fine fellows" he then turned to face the four men in black. "My friends" Marceau said genially, "Please return to the plane. If you want to know who attacked us I will gladly tell you what I find out in due time. However, i think you're part of what downed the plane; I don't know but I suspect you aren't regular passengers. State your busniess with this man Fector, or I shall happily smash the answer from your bodies" he took up a fighting stance, signalling Fector to get behind him.

Sure. Notice Cheeeeck! 13 that is a great irritant. Burning an HP and re-rolling: 13, rolled a 3 so I can add 10, so it's 23.

Bowing smoothly, Marceau declared he'd "Be right back, thanks for helping save all our lives!" and dashed off to see if he could get anything out of the odd man. Skidding to a halt on the sands a few feet from Ford, he asked him point blank "Ford, what attacked us? Please, do you have a name? We need to know, there are people not far from here who can assemble a force that could beat down Omega himself if they needed to!" He looked imploringly at Ford, wondering vaguely if Ford was some sort of conspriacy unraveler, and the attack was a try at keeping him from The Truth. It would make more sense(and be a little less terrifying) than facing terroists in stolen fighter jets. At least he had some experience fighting a conspiracy.
  25. "No sense in splitting up, that's for sure" answered the King of Suits, after he had gotten his jangled nerves back in one piece from backing into Mala Suerte. The labyrinthine tunnels meant that enemies could lurk anywhere they pleased and be at least partially hidden. Meaning, of course, that they had the options of...pretty much anything. "I'd say we should just go down that way. Not find the lair as fast maybe, but at least we'll have a chance of finding it if it's not on the main road so to speak" he looked to the others "What do you guys think? I'm thinking it would be very weird if the Worm just kept a place in the main tunnels where they might be found by anyone. Of course if they've a large enough force, they might need to keep in the main tunnels and just vacate ahead of inspections"
