  1. Device 12 (hard to lose, The Quark Suit, Power Feats: Restricted 1 (techmagus blooded), Quick Change): Comprehend 2 (speak to machines, understand machines), Mimic 10 (all powers, Extra: Alternate Save (Toughness), Range (ranged), Flaw: Resisted, Tainted, Power Feats: Accurate), Protection 12

Would Quick Change be enough to cover a suit that looks like clothes then turns into power armor?

Can I buy 12 ranks of Protection if my PL6 guy has -1 Toughness?

  2. What does the QR target: a person or their Devices?
The Quark Relic operates on the principle that all "powers" are either tech or magic. It wouldn't drain anything off of Tony Stark or Batman, yet the Iron Man suit and the Batmobile are a different story. As is Wolverine, he's got powers, it would drain them. Basically The Quark Relic screwed against any normal character.
  3. As written, the Comprehend only lets other folks you touch communicate with machines, not you (all Devices have a version of "Affects Others" built in that allows the user/wearer to access the Device's powers). Is this what you want?
    Fixed.
Also' date=' as written, the Quark Relic cannot transfer the abilities of robots, since they've got an Immunity to Fort effects. Is this okay? Just what is the QR (described in an in-character way)?[/quote']I wanted it to be something like a techstaff that transformed into a honkin huge cannon (something like Starman's/Stargirl's staff into something like Iron Man's Proton Cannon from MvC). I do have a question though, is "because it's drawing from the very essence of one's being" good enough reason to have Alternate Save (Toughness)?
  4. Power Level: 13 (191/192)

    Trade-Offs: None

    Unspent PP: 1

    Progress to Gold: 60/90

Characters Name: Not known. Empyrean language is so analytical that the name they gave him would fill a page.

    Alternate Identity: Quark, Darian Cale

    Height: 5'7"

    Weight: 130 lbs.

    Hair: chromatic

    Eyes: golden

Description: Quark doesn't look like your average teenager. The technicolor hair and golden eyes being the most outstanding part of him. He's a bit short and lean for his age too. He has fair skin with light freckles all over. His hair is thick and a bit shabby and almost rests on his shoulders when he doesn't have it in a rubberband. He dresses in what some would call 'business casual': loafers, slacks, belt and polo shirt (though sometimes a white t-shirt with an unbuttoned short sleeved dress shirt). He also is never seen without a messenger bag full of notes and gadgets to work with.

    History:

Personality & Motivation: "Take chances. Make mistakes. Get messy." "To boldly go where no one has gone before." These are words to live by for Darian. The pursuit of knowledge is the pursuit of happiness to him. He wants to learn everything that he doesn't know. Nothing is too out there for him to find. Why does he do this? For knowledge's sake, of course. Though, throughout all this, he's kept a humble and polite attitude. He's almost a bit shy when other people are around, taking in everything he can in quiet observation.

Powers & Tactics: Darian has no real powers in a sense. He has a near cosmic level intellect. He's taught himself every language known to man and then some not known to man. He's also taught himself to decipher codes instantly. If he had a power in the traditional sense, it would be "MacGuyvering". Give him up to about 4 minutes and he'll have a magical trinket or scientific gadget. He even knows various forms of nuanced magic. As for tactics, he's not the one in the front. He can arm a companion, but when push comes to shove, he has to have preptime to arm himself.

  5. I hear children feast on the blood of the living in the dead of night! Beware the midnight feedings! Beware!
Everytime I read that it reminds me of this:

    HyophYBP_w4

    :P

  6. Noah finds his mark. Toughness 19 check.
    21

So how's the next post supposed to go? You or me? Or is combat more roll than writing?

Edit: By the way, I did roll a 15 earlier (check the logs here), but the roll was 1d20+12, my Toughness save is 10. If you wish me to keep the 15, I will do so.

  7. If Wesley were in his right mind he would of fled. The only thing that kept him there was the adrenaline flowing through him at that moment. Standing his ground, his gaze met all five of theirs, one by one. Finally answering the question and request put before him, "Oh, I gotcha. I just don't think you can handle the check I'm gonna hand over if you don't leave that girl and this place in the next three seconds." Wesley took one defiant step towards the crew of thugs, "One," raising his arms outwards and taking another step, "Two," taking one last step, putting him right next to the girl and in the middle of the group of thugs, "Three."

  8. Wesley tried his hardest not to be conspicuous. Night time was not a time to be driving through this area. But he had work here. It wasn't too much, but he'd be able to eat and fuel the car for a while. He was supposed to meet the person he was inking, Zeus, at some night club called "The Peace Palace". Wesley wondered about people with singular names in this town. He could be making a very powerful friend or just some punk with an attitude. Parking was easy enough. Nightclubs on Tuesdays usually dont get that much business. It was almost too quiet. He didn't notice anybody hanging around the entrance. Again he chalked it up to being a weekday, but his gut kept trying to warn him. When he walked into the nightclub a shriek rang out and there were five very heavily armed men holding one girl, and the few people that were there and not armed were panicking. Thinking quickly amongst the cries for heroism, he wasn't going to let that girl or these people be threatened.

"Hey! Hey!" Wesley chided at the men slowly walking in a confident manner towards them, "You better drop that girl or things are gonna get real ugly..."

  9. Great! :) But the post itself looks like it wants you to only play it.

Accepting: 3-5 Heroes, any PL. First pick for those characters who are not currently involved in any active adventures.
  10. Don't get me wrong, Robin's good in some things - like Good Will Hunting, and... yeah, after that, I got nothing. But they tried casting a comedian in a Batman villain role.
Yes, Good Will Hunting, also: One Hour Photo, Insomnia, Bicentennial Man, Dead Poet's Society, What Dreams May Come. Tonnes of work where Williams has been non-comedic.
  11. Oh, certainly, vampires have a fine tradition of being in comics. Just please keep them more like the Marvel comics from the 70s, and less like the Anne Rice novels (or 30 Days of Night). :)
Yeah, definately more "bleh bleh I vant to suck your blood!", less "XxXSephirothHARDCORELestatXxX" :P
    Sorta.

    You could, for example, do

Since, for most Arrays (a power with Alternate Powers), all the effects are effectively "different settings" of the same effect (like a Star Trek phaser), in a way they're all alternate powers of each other.

Now, if you wanted something more like this

Then we'd need to talk. There'd be lots of "No"'s.

This is much better than my explanation. Archeville! :P
  12. Question with Alternate Power:

Can it be taken multiple times for the same power?

You can buy different versions of the power, yes.
Do I need to put ranks into the 'alternates'?
Nope, counts as a power feat. One point gives youas many points as you spent on the base power. Example:

Blastman buys 10 ranks of Blast for his base power.

    Blast 10

Blastman wants different versions of his blast so he buys an alternate power. He has 20 points to work with his new Blast

    Blast 10

AP: Blast 5 (Extras: Autofire, Penetrating)

See at 4 points a rank Blastman's second blast would reach 20 points at 5 ranks. If, God forbid, Blastman did not want to Blast anymore and wanted to turn into Strikeman he could still use his old array.

    Blast 10

AP: Blast 5 (Extras: Autofire, Penetrating)

    AP: Strike 20

See, alternate powers go by points not ranks. Strikeman is born, but if Blastman is ever needed again, Strikeman knows where to find him.

  13. Just to make sure you know what I mean I was talking something like so:

AP: Super-Senses (Danger Sense (sight), Darkvision, Direction Sense, Distance Sense, Infravision, Low-Light Vision, Time Sense, Track, Ultravision, X-Ray Vision, et cetera)

Now when I activate this, does everything go on or can I pick and choose?

  14. If I buy Super-Senses as an Alternate Power for Wesley's array would I have 14 points to spend or 47? Semi-related, If I buy Super-Senses under one Alternate Power could I activate them separately or would they all turn on when I activate the Alternate Power?
