  1. "Nice work. I'll go get the police."

Grim waves distractedly at the departing hero.

    "Yeah, you do that, thanks."

Doing a quick assessment of the battlefield, the young super notes a handful of unconscious foes (always a good thing), several wounded innocents soon to be receiving proper medical treatment, and the sound of approaching police and emergency vehicles; Grim has never served any time, but since she has quite a few skeletons in her closet, she isn't too keen on chatting with Freedom City's Finest. Deciding that fighting crime is it's own reward, she ducks down the alley and seems to wink out of existence in the shadows...

  4. Fortunately, he could roll his eyes in response to her second question. "Just a little while. And no, we didn't. I have no idea what's going on, but the jewelry store across the street's alarm is going off." Nanowire finally gave into the needs of the situation (though he wasn't happy about it) and set Grim next to him on the rooftop. "That, and check out the people here. Everything's... old. Like really old, but new. How is that possible? I don't know anyplace on Earth that looks like this. Plus, this seems like the U.S."

Grim peers over the edge with him, noticing the odd long coats and hideous knit hats, and the big metal cars that everyone is driving.

    "Huh; that is weird."

She looks back over her shoulder at Nano.

"How well do you know Icarus' powers? Like, is he a mad scientist type who keeps inventing stuff, or does he have trouble controlling his powers or something? Because this is seriously weird, am I right?"

She turns to look down at the street, and notes the source of the alarm.

"Haas Jewelers; I can't really make out- ohmigod, I want those boots!"

Grim suddenly points at a young woman walking down the street, with long straight dark hair that goes down almost to her waist; she is wearing a short dark wool skirt, purple tights and pair of white vinyl lace-up boots that reach to her knees.

"Wouldn't I look so awesome in those, with the black heels? That's it, I'm making myself a pair."

She looks eagerly down at her legs, and a gray mist swirls around her lower extremities, leaving her sporting a near identical pair with the matching skirt and tights; from the waist up, her costume is still the same, and the contrast is rather jarring.

"God, I love these! Okay, okay, gotta focus, back to the business at hand."

She returns to her surveillance of the possible crime scene.

"No cops yet...maybe I should head on down, whadya think?"

Grim looks back at Nano, and gives him an appraising up and down look.

"Do you always look like that, or do you have other options? Like a car or helicopter and stuff?"

  7. My girl, tentatively named Gossamer, is good at both straight-up robbery and computer crime; she's also good muscle but doesn't look like it (super-strong prehensile hair). She's not opposed to killing, but she tries to avoid it if she can, mostly because it draws 'bad heat'.

  10. Grim is very street level, but she hasn't done anything to seriously anger anyone beyond a few pimps at this point; she would be more than happy to start working her way up the criminal food chain and do some damage. She is a PL6, however, so she kind of has to tread carefully. She would be up for the occasional team-up with either of you :D

  13. Apparently this was not her night; these punks had seriously injured several innocent people who's only crimes was liking pretentious live entertainment and overpriced coffee, and she had barely managed to lay a finger on them. Grim looked skywards and offered this silent prayer.

God, if I am meant to deal with these punks which you in your eternal yet inscrutable wisdom created and placed on this Earth, let my next blow strike true, so that I can make it back to my squat for an early dinner of lukewarm Chunky soup and illegally purchased wine coolers.

    ....

It took her a lot longer than it should have, but soon she was panting as she sat on the steps of the gazebo, the bruised and bloodied forms of the punks resting about on the grass where they fell, clothes in tatters but thankfully still breathing.

"Thank you, God, for listening...I knew you...hadn't given up on me. Just another one of your...damned tests. Whew! I hope you don't mind the disappearing act; I know it seems like cheating, but on a night like this, it's all I've got."

Grim stood up slowly, dusting off the fine coating of snow she'd accumulated during her tussle as she looked around; now where did old Blue and Yellow go?

  16. Yeah, I liked both episodes; we'll have to see if they can raise it above the level of 'Terminator of the week', but I really like the two female leads. I've liked Summer Glau since her Firefly days, and I think she was an inspired choice, since she can handle the physical challenges as well as play this weird sense of robotic innocence; plus, she's purty :D
