I just want to direct your attention to this thread over in the Off-Panel forum, which has given this forum a paralell chat room. This could be quite useful for the sorts of things we currently use this subforum for- getting groups together, discussing issues with the campaign, and the like. Check it out.

  6. This is my hero Shinken's headquarters. Villians wishing to attack it, as Shinken's headquarters, will need to do some legwork first: it's fairly well-hidden, with most coming and going occurring underground and by a very stealthy airplane. Probably the best way to figure it out would be digging around in Ares Macrotechnology's books. [if they just happen to start rampaging in the general area and attack it indiscriminately, that might happen too.] Heroes, on the other hand, don't neccesarily need to have so specific a reason to investigate this somewhat inherantly suspicious place. Misunderstandings welcome. :D

  9. A sprawling abandoned auto factory stands on the outskirts of Freedom City, the company that operated it long since a victim to Japanese competitors. The site was bought up by some big conglomerate or another a long while back, but after a seemingly half-hearted attempt at renovating the place nothing ever seemed to happen with it. The property is now permanently fenced-in, and lies dark. The chain-link fence that completely surrounds it is surprisingly tall, and mixed in with an impressive amount of barbed wire; that, along with the unfocused but uniformly unsettling rumors about the strange noises that sometimes emanate from the property, generally serves to keep vagrants and curiosity-seekers away.

  12. Benjiro is rich enough, and heroic enough, to be able to just rent the Wreck Room should he get the urge to train a bit. Is anyone willing to take him on in a sparring match? He's a PL 10 Weapon Master/Battlesuit type.

  15. Perhaps we could go the other way round- incentives. Offer a Power Point bonus, or even a Power Level boost, to those who are willing to play villians. Or even institute another tier of character Power Level, for villians intended to take on groups of heroes.

  18. Now that my character has been approved and I've started looking for something to get into, I've noticed something of an issue here that has the potential to make things here grind to a screeching halt. Put simply: there are almost exactly twice as many heroes as there are villians. This leads inevitably to a resource problem; either every villian will be getting double-teamed every time they show up to do something neferious, or half of all the heroes will sitting out at an given time. Possible solutions include advertising specifically for players who are into playing villians, someone putting up a number of NPC villians and organizations and hoping the refs are up to running them, closing non-villian recruitment periodically, partially or wholly lifting the duplicate-character restriction for players so long as they're creating villians... Thoughts?

  21. The flaws on Shapeshifting went from Action x3 to Action x2 and Unreliable.

  24. Aaaargh. Why do I suck at life? 1. I think that's just a typo. I've got the correct Dexterity bonus down on my Reflex save and init calculation. 2. It applies to Benjiro. He's by far the weakest element in the man-machine interface. 3. Yes, you have exactly caught my mistake. It has been fixed. And I am fully aware of the limits of Shapeshift- many powers are useful at low levels. 4. The Penetrating extra on a Mighty Strike must be bought for all of your Strength bonus, as well. The cost of the original power is 6 for the Strike, 6 for the Penetrating extra on the Strike, 4 for the Penetrating extra on the Strengh bonus, and 4 for the Power Feats, for a total cost of 20, or 17 for the purpose of Alternate Powers.
