Description: Pinnacle is a tall figure with an almost translucent skin color. He facial features are nondescript, almost if drawn by talented but young child trying to draw an adult. He is of average build, neither slender nor stout. If not for the lack of height, hair, grey eyes and translucent skin ones eyes would not be able to pick him out of a crowd.

Personality & Motivation: Quite and reserved, almost always with his head tilted, observing, while he interacts or watches others interact with each other. Pinnacle was born when The Event happened:

The Event

During Dr. Nguyen test runs of the Fractal Magnetometer Resonator he ran into a problem with one of the magnetic couplers. What he did not know is during the test the fluctuations caused a pin prick sized ‘window’ into another dimension. This dimension is inhabited by beings composed of pure energy and possessing vast intellect and power. Once such being came into contact with the mind of Alessandro and was able perceive, through Alessandro’s eyes, Alessandro’s perceptions of the Earth. During this time Dr. Nguyen was working on the magnetic coupler, which was causing instability in the ‘window’. The other dimensional being, able to perceive that his window was closing and knowing that Alessandro would not survive the imminent explosion this would caused, manipulated Alessandro’s genetic structure so he could allow him to survive the explosion. As the unknown energies coursed through his body Alessandro was able to feel the window becoming unstable. He was also aware of the others – Dr. Nguyen, the janitor, the security director and his father in the building. In the moment the window exploded outward, he reached out with his power to save those people but, without the proper control, he inadvertently combined all five people into one being that, later, he dubbed Pinnacle. Afterwards, Dr. Nguyen guessed that their powers had come from the explosion, rather than the other dimensional being. And, Alessandro, showing uncommon insight for his age, suppressed the knowledge of what happened, realizing that he was not ready to wield such power. What no one really knows is that Alessandro absorbed the four others into himself, in effect becoming Pinnacle. Everything that was the other four became part of him. The five distinct personalities are, for all intensive purposes, fragments of Pinnacles psyche. Although he can’t actively use the others abilities, nor opinions, he has strong sense of right and wrong that Alessandro possesses. Unfortunately he doesn’t always have the experiences or talents to always accomplish his tasks with a positive outcome. On matters of religion or politics he has not developed a viewpoint. On most subjects he has not developed an opinion. The day will come when Alessandro will realize what happened and fully become the being known as Pinnacle. The when and how are the only uncertainties.

Description: Antonio is a tall man in his middle years with an average build.

Personality & Motivation: With a dominating personality and forceful personality Antonio, or Tony to his friends, is usually the life of the party and the center of attention. Able to negotiate any deal or heal any rift between friends, his honesty and sincerity speak volumes in relationship to his success in business. Antonio was born in Lisbon, Portugal but immigrated with his parents to the United States when he was 2. His parents opened a deli and were able to put Antonio through college with the help of the scholarships he received. Although he did well in the physical sciences he excelled at business, eventually receiving advance degrees in both. After receiving money for a few patents that he sold, he started Eagle Industries and has prospered ever since. Crushed by the death of his wife in an airline accident, he is driven to make his company succeed so his son will never have to worry about money. Although he tends to ignore his son in favor of work, he always makes sure that he his son does his homework and always goes to his son’s school functions. He was working procuring artificial diamonds for the Fractal Magnetometer Resonator when ‘The Event’ happened.

Personality & Motivation: Chuck was born in Vietnam and fled to the United States with his mother and sister in 1966 when he was only 5 years old. Although he was bullied by other kids due to his Vietnamese heritage throughout his school years, even into college, he didn’t hold a grudge against any one kid. Chuck excelled at science and math, eventually joining the NASA Galileo program in 1987. He eventually became head of Photopolarimeter-Radiometer Array, which he considers to be the highpoint of his career. After the termination in late 2003 of the program, he left NASA to head up Fractal Magnetometer Resonator for Eagle Industries. He was working on power fluctuations in the magnetic coupler when ‘The Event’ happened. He tends to melt into the background during social events, when he does attend, observing others around him. He prefers sitting in his lab, unraveling the mysteries of the universe.

Afterwards, she joined Eagle Industries as a bodyguard for Antonio D’Aquila and his son through her former military services, rising to Head of Security after 4 years. Eddy was in her office going over personnel files when ‘The Event’ happened. Eddy prefers straight talk to BS, which is why her and her boss get along so well.

Description: James is of above average height with a slender, lanky build.

Personality & Motivation: James – James was the only child of August ‘Auggie’ and Debbie Sinclair. Auggie was a Captain in the FCPD. Wanting to follow in his fathers footsteps but not wanting to rely on his name to get a job, he first joined the Marine Corp where he met his future contact Eddy Jones. After doing his duty in the Corp he applied and was accepted as part of the Seattle Police Department. His father died a few months later, which made James rethink his decision. He applied, and was accepted, by the FCPD. He chose to do this so he could be closer to his mother. During his probation with FCPD, he stumbled upon his partner was on the take to drug dealers. He turned him into Internal Affairs but didn’t know the IA officer was also on the take. They eventually set him up in the killing of the drug dealer, thereby eliminating that witness. This eventually led to trial, which he lost. He ended up doing 2 of his 5 years, getting off for good behavior. He made a vow to bring the cops who framed him to justice, but has not been able to so far. He was able to get a job at Eagle Industries as a janitor through his former Sergeant, Eddy Jones, who knew James and didn’t believe the charges against him. He was emptying trash bins when ‘The Event’ happened. Dedicated, driven and focused his intensity can sometimes put people off, especially when they first meet him. When he can be distracted from his goals his cheerful personality sometimes shines through, especially when he plays around the building with Sandro.

Complications: (False) criminal record that drives him to bring to justice those who put him in jail.

Personality & Motivation: Alessandro is the 10 year old son of Antonio D’Aquila, owner of Eagle Industries. Alessandro’s mother died when he was 3, on a flight to Portugal that went down in a thunderstorm. Alessandro’s father, being a workaholic, takes his son with him to work after Alessandro gets out of school. Most of his free time is spent at Eagle Industries. After doing his homework because his father does make sure that it gets done, he spends either sneaking around the facility or on the computer playing video games or surfing the web. All of the employees know Alessandro and let him do his thing as long as he not going where he’s not supposed to or around dangerous equipment. He was stalking James the janitor when ‘The Event’ happened. Alessandro has a strong sense of wrong and right, and always does the right thing.

Complications: Young, adults don't always take him seriously.

Let's start with the Gestalt form and continue from there.

1) There is no need for him to have all of the attack/defense/damage tradeoff feats. He has no Attack to trade off, so Defensive Attack and Power Attack don't work.

2) Why does he have Luck? His story doesn't suggest a great deal of luck, beyond not dying when the accident happened (and if he had died, you wouldn't have had a character :) )

3) Going back to point 1 - he has no Attack, but he has Accurate 5 on his Blast? I would like to see a more balanced split between Attack, Attack Focus, and Attack Specialization/Accurate. Once you do this, the tradeoff feats make more sense.

4) You need to choose what ability score/skill/power your Boost affects.

5) Absorption essentially includes Impervious, but it only protects against energy or physical damage. If you want it to protect against both, the cost is right. If you only want one or the other, you need to specify which and reduce the cost by 10.

6) Why is Pinnacle illiterate if none of his components are?

Once these questions are answered, I'll go through the other parts.

1) This is a legacy from where I originally built him and trimmed him down. I will remove those. :oops:

2) The gestalt didn't exist before the accident happened. He himself is quite a bit luckier than it might seem. But, 2 ranks is another legacy, it should be 1 which, along with is base hero point, allows him to use both of his UE feats.

3) I see your point. I was trying to show that he does not have any really great skills, whether combat or turning on a computer, but I was trying to show that his blast was a blast of cosmic energy that emanated from his eyes... not quite like ranged perception but close. I can rearrange this to better show what your saying but it wasn't what I was really going for.

5) This is Protection with the +3/rank Absorption Extra and +1/rank Impervious Extra, not Absorption on page 124 of UP or an Absorption AP off of Protection.

4) This should have shown Boost: Cosmic Energy Control.

6) Because he doesn't have access to the components memories or skills. Eventually this will be bought off but he only has 3 years worth of life experiences and he hasn't had the time (pp) to learn it.

That being said, please hold off spending any time reviewing the character for now. After reading somewhere that the board is light on villains I'm throwing around a couple of ideas of my own villains I made but haven't been able to fit into my adventures but wanted to run. I could change Pinnacle to be a villain but the Alessandro character and I don't want to drop him in favor of a more villainous replacement.

Protection with the Absorption (+3) and Impervious (+1) extras (5 pp/rank total) is the Absorption power, with the Both Types extra (5pp/rank total).

Absorption (4pp/rank) is Protection (Extras: Absorption [+3], Impervious; Flaw: Limited to either physical or energy) (4pp/rank total).

I agree that they are the same except in one important area for me --> It was the difference between writing up one or two powers and lazyiness won out. :D

Not to be flighty here on Endless Flight, but I would like to submit another character for PL 10. Villain instead of Hero to help the other team a bit. How should I go about doing this?

That's what I was looking for.

I have some tweaking that I have to do with a PL 10 version of the idea I had in Character building.

Eventually (gold?) I'd like to revisit the Pinnacle idea but I think I'm going to tweak the Eddy and Alessandro characters to come up with a PL 6 hero instead.
