  1. Bluesman glanced back at the gangster, pivoting on his heel and aiming another hard haymaker at the man's jaw. "Don't take the hint, do you? Stay down!" He noticed Bobby slip out of the door. That was a relief; making sure that Bobby didn't get hurt would just add another variable to the situation. Hopefully his backup managed to get into the window soon.
  2. Doktor'd 10/30/2011 Bluesman Small, fluff-based descriptor change. Could the tag on his device be changed to (Weighted Gloves and Steel-Toed Shoes)? This will help him crush his foes underfoot...I mean, kick things in the name of justice. Doktor'd 10/30/2011
  3. Well crap, I should have attacked one more, then! Oh well, I'll knock him out next turn and let Asad turn towards Mr. Mist.
  4. Barely passed with a 20. Bluesman is going to use a Bluff check to fake failing the Will save (32) to get close to the male gangster, before throwing a punch at him. 17 to hit. DC 23 Toughness save on a hit. Finally, Initiative. Bluesman's got an 18.
  5. Bluesman felt...something affecting his mind. He focused on the mental training his grandfather had drilled into him, focusing on reality. However, a dopey grin came over his face as the woman put her hand on his chest. "Yeah, that's a good idea...Let's just sit down here..." Bluesman began walking around the desk towards the chairs, and incidentally towards the male gangster. When Bluesman got within arm's reach of the man, however, his expression hardened and he lashed out hard, aiming a strong punch at the man's jaw. He turned towards the woman, smiling brashly. "Sorry lady, but I'm better than that." He raised his hands in a boxing guard, ready to fight. He didn't normally like hitting women, but he got the feeling that gentlemanly behavior wasn't exactly going to be rewarded here, with the whole "messing with your mind" thing.
  6. How many am I adjacent to? I only have Takedown 1, so I can only hit the guys next to me. I guess go ahead and let Asad do his thing, since I'm guessing he's going to have as easy a time hitting as me.
  7. Bluesman took in the scene, noticing that neither of the two had drawn their guns yet. Which gave him a bit of time to work with. He looked down towards the woman, nodding to her, before pulling himself up at the window. He pulled himself through the opening with trained agility, vaulting through the window quickly and rolling. One hand held his hat on his head as he looked up towards the two thugs, a grin playing on his features. "Sorry. Am I interrupting something?"
  8. Bluesman shrugged. "Can't tell you who I am, of course. Secret identity and all that. Might not be related at all, you know. Anyway, yeah, let's do this thing." He figured that the zombie lady or whatever knew what she was talking about, so he nodded when she offered him a leg up, tucking his grapple gun into his belt. He stepped up his foot into her hands, bracing himself for the lift up and ready to grab onto the ledge.
  9. Keep on brawling! 23 to hit. DC 23 Toughness Save once more.
  10. Haha, I roll an amazing 2 for a 14. But since these guys suck, I still hit! Go Bluesman! DC 23 Toughness save again.
  11. Bluesman coughed at the gas entering his lungs, reminding himself that he needed to get a rebreather somehow. Once the effect of the gas wore off, he looked between the coalescing Mr. Mist and the henchmen beginning to go through the crowd. Deciding that there wasn't much punching was going to do against a man who was apparently made of gas, but he could do something about the people being robbed. He aimed his grapple gun towards a high tree branch, firing it and swinging into the crowd, landing next to the closest concentration of the hoods. Using the momentum of his swing, Bluesman aimed a strong right hook at his first target as he landed, looking to knock the man out before he could bring his weapon to bear. He turned, keeping aware of all of the thugs; he needed to make sure that they weren't going to fire into the crowd in a panic.
  12. Alright, time to go mook sweeping. Bluesman can swing 100 feet in a move action with his grapple gun. He's going to land adjacent to as many of the Lads as he can and try to punch one. 30 to hit, DC 23 Toughness save on a hit. He has Takedown Attack 1, so if he manages to lay his target out he's going to attack any more of the lads next to him. If they're minions, he's going to attack until he's out of targets next to him.
  13. Bluesman Spending my unspent PP on a rank of Equipment. My equipment section should change to the following. Throwing Star (Blast 0, Power Feats: Mighty 3) [3EP] Armored Jacket (Protection 1)[1EP] Grapple Gun (Super-Movement 2 [swinging, Slow Fall] + Speed 1 [10mph / 100ft per Move Action])[5EP] Laptop[1EP] Improvisational Jazz'd by Gizmo
  14. Bluesman wasn't exactly sure what he had been expecting, but a hug certainly wasn't it. After she stepped back from his, he straightened his tie and hat, scratching the back of his head. He tried to remember the situation that the woman described; he didn't remember doing anything like that, and he didn't have enough experience to have all of it start blending together, he thought. "I didn't realize that I even had fans. Haven't been at this thing that long." Then, he remembered what Bobby had been talking about, and the picture that he had seen, and it clicked in his head. Seemed there was something to this lady, after all. Or she was just crazy, but this city had seen much weirder, and he wasn't exactly in the position to be too skeptical. "I think you're looking for the last Bluesman; I'm the new one. Not that I don't appreciate the hug, mind. Most people just try to hit me." He turned back towards the window, pointing towards it. "Sorry to cut this short, but a guy I know is getting shook down in there, and I should probably get to doing something about it. Talk in a bit?"
  15. Forgot to ask; can I make a roll to see what Bluesman knows about Mr. Mist?
  16. Bluesman nodded when the man indicated that he didn't want any violence. Especially now that another cape had showed up to back the two up. "Good thinking. Take the coats off slowly and lay down any pieces you might be carrying, and we can do this nice and easy. I wouldn't suggest going for iron, though. Bad things happen to hoods with guns in this town, let me tell you. We'll deal with your boss." He tensed up slightly, watching the men carefully. He wasn't exactly bulletproof after all, though the armoring woven into the fabric of his jacket would help with that. Still, not getting shot at all would be the best idea.
  17. Initiative 26, Bluesman is on the freaking ball.
  18. Bluesman made his own way out into the alley, but was surprised to see someone else out there as well. After a moment, he recognized it as the woman from inside the club that Bobby had pointed out. Perhaps there was something to what the old man was saying after all? But was she here to help Bobby, or the mobsters? He figured that there was at least one easy way to find out. Assuming it didn't get him killed, of course. But hey, you only lived once, right? Bluesman stepped out into the alley himself, his dress shoes clicking on the asphalt of the ground. He tipped his hat down on his head slightly, straightening out his tie. "This alley taken?"
  19. 25 for Bluesman's Intimidate.
  20. Bluesman had been lurking around the stage area, trying to keep out of sight and keep an eye on the men in the coats, when a man in a cape flew over the lake and up to the grouping men. So much for stealth... Stepping out from behind the tree he had been lurking behind, Bluesman tipped his hat down in his eyes slightly as he approached. "I'd listen to the man, boys. I'd hate to have to mess up my gloves on your faces, after all." He cracked his knuckles to make his point more clear, watching for any of the men to go for weapons. It would be best for this to not have to come to blows, especially with all of the people around, so hopefully the men would be shaken at the sight of some capes.
  21. Did Bluesman get close enough to notice Quint come down and confront Mike?
  22. Josh had been settling in for his little hero history lesson when the two hoods came over to their table. Apparently they weren't exactly trained, because Josh noticed right away the heat that they were trying to conceal under their clothes. He quirked an eyebrow at Bobby's response; what did he know? Still, Bobby was pretty much family, and Josh wasn't going to let him get shaken down by two amateur mobsters in any case. Josh stood up, making his way to the back of the stage. He looked around, making sure that he was alone, before breaking into his guitar case. He changed his clothes from the more casual wear he had worn to the club, to the grey suit and gloves of the Bluesman. He knew the club's layout like the back of his hand by this point even without Bobby's little hint; he figured that the alley was probably going to be the best bet for getting into Bobby's office. So, making sure that no one was watching once more, the Bluesman made his way towards the backstage exit to the alley.
  23. Also, Bluesman has Stealth Skill Mastery, so that's a 22 to avoid being seen.
  24. Bluesman has a +11 Notice mod, so he literally can't fail that one.
  25. Josh had some experience picking people out of a crowd, and he noticed something strange as people milled around; several almost identical men in long coats who seemed to be hiding something in them. He thanked his grandpa for drilling those exercises into his head. He was a bit late in noticing Maxie referencing him to the seeming hero type who had wandered over to his booth and Josh's bench. Josh tried to smoothly look at his watch, before glancing up at Maxie. "Actually, I've gotta split I think. I'll look you up on the card, man." He turned towards Amir, nodding to him and then to the crowd as a whole. "Hope you enjoyed the show, people. Remember to support local music, and look at some of my friend's stuff here, huh?" Josh quickly packed up his guitar, throwing the gig bag strap over his shoulder and offering a wave to his impromptu partner for the afternoon before setting off the path. Once he had reached a relatively out-of-sight area, though, he stepped off the path, looking for a place to hide for a moment to change. Once he found something suitable, he unzipped his bag and took out his coat, gloves, and tie, slipping them on in a hurry. Once he had done so, he broke open the hidden compartment, taking out his grapple gun and mask. After the latter was secured over his eyes, the Bluesman hid his guitar somewhere it wouldn't likely be stumbled over, before making his way towards the stage where he had seen the long coats heading. He tried to stay out of sight for now, not wanting to spook any crowds, or the hoods themselves. Maybe I'm just being paranoid... Bluesman thought to himself. Still, he kept moving for now. Better paranoid than unprepared, after all.
