No... no he will not. Just as a fyi, he replied to you back on page 2 if you missed it.

    Killing Time [IC]

Fun? Well perhaps, but all Johnny had ever wanted was to stay home, surf and be with his friends. The schools his dad had chosen had been more about discipline and work than they had about learning. Which did not bode well for this school either. Still it was good luck on his part that he had bumped into Subito. It was nice to have an early start meeting people. "So you're new there too? Well just our luck, we can start the semester knowing someone. What are you going to study there? I don't even have a schedule on what I am going to take. Like I said, my kind of mom set me up there. Seems to think I'm going to like it." He couldn't help but notice Subito edging back to the psycho guard and thought that this might be a good friend to have. Well he could ride shotgun for him, not that he wanted to get into trouble before he even started school.
  3. Yeah, I see it happening very soon after the Ren Fair thread. What day is that?
  4. "Awesome," Johnny said echoing his thoughts exactly. "I mean, um... it would be my honor your grace" Thankfully, the surfing culture was pretty free wheeling. Male, felmale, old, young, it didn't really matter. What was important was the moment and experiences you shared. He'd spent a fair amount of time surfing with men and women of all ages, which helped reduce the awkwardness that he might otherwise have felt. So he didn't think it odd at all that they were going to wander the fair together. As they started to walk into the fair proper, he looked over at her with a little worry. How she didn't burn with skin that pale was beyond him. However, she'd obviously lived with it all her life and hopefully knew what she was talking about. With a shrug, he put it back in his pants pocket. She knew he had it if she changed her mind later. "You'll totally have to forgive me... I mean, I must beg your forgiveness on my attire. My squire left my armor in lands far west" he said trying to play along with her.
  5. Edited my post. It was supposed to be "You did that bow thing" not "You did that boy thing". Very different meaning :)
  6. Before heading off, he paused for a moment, looking at the pale skinned woman, now decreed princess. Not a bad way to start the fair. What surprised him was that she didn't have anyone obviously with her. While she seemed a bit older, she had an athletic look about her and she must have kept up her exercises because she moved like someone far younger. Regardless, a little compliment wouldn't hurt anyone and then he could get on with the day... who knows, maybe even meet a friend. With an award winning smile he walked up to Lucy, "princess? Congratulations, you did that bow thing like you've done a few before. Anyway, I hope you have fun with it!" He was about to turn away when he thought of something and began to rummage through his battered but comfortable cargo shorts. A few brief moments later he pulled out a small tube of sun tan lotion which he kept on him. Although, in retrospect, why was a good question. Spending so much time on the beach, gave him a very healthy tan and some pretty good resistance to the sun's golden rays. "Oh, if you didn't already do the deed, I've got a small thing of sun tan. With that complexion and the sun today, you might really burn pretty bad today."

"Tell me about it, back on the West Coast everyone is more laid back," he said. "You know, flower power and all that jazz." As he spoke he watched the crazy mall cop start shouting at yet another person. Johnny was not doctor, but it looked like that guy was about to have a heart attack. Seriously, it must be something in the water, or maybe it was all the deep fried food that seemed to weight down every menu East of the Mississippi. Hadn't anyone realized the green movement had come? "I'm heading to some place called Claremont academy. It's some fancy prep school my dad sent me to. Well really my kind of mom picked it, he just sort of enforced it. Ten schools... ten years."

GM The clerk smiled, flashing perfect teeth to match his overall looks, "I'm David, nice to meet you. So not from around here? Well that's no matter, I'd be more than happy to get your sizes. You're looking for a top, right?" he said walking with an easy gait and confidant demeanor. He led her over to a changing room and pulled out a tape measure with only a glance back at the disturbance outside.

GM "Not official!" Alex screamed forcing his voice, which he normally kept in a manly baritone to squeak in a very unacceptable manner. "I'll have you know that I am Watch Captain of Community Watch #21, and we are deputized to act as the eyes of the law!" He was practically sputtering and color was tinting his cheeks as his ire and anger boiled over, "and if your sister stole I'll put my hands all over her as I drag her back to jail!" Wait, that wasn't what he really meant was it? Well there was no use correcting himself now, it looked wishy washy and he wouldn't have that, or they might as well turn the keys over to the riff raff and vagabonds. Somehow this day was not going as planned. "Now step aside or I'll be forced to issue you a citation!"

Well diplomacy means he was willing to do what you we're asking as long as it's within reason and not contrary to his nature. Stopping is one thing, having him stay in that state is another if he feels that you're preventing him from his duty.
  11. I need a thread where my current hero gets exposed on his first day to what Claremont really is. I would like two or three current students or teachers to literally strut their stuff. It could be a game on campus, something in class or anything that showcases your characters extraordinary and noticeable abilities. It will be a fairly short thread, but something to move my character along and integrate him with the student body.

"Not a bad way of looking at things," Johnny mussed almost to himself. "I try to roll with things and honestly, I totally thought he made a mistake. I mean, I hadn't even been in a store, and like, I have more money than I know what to do with. What would I want to steal anyway?" He took a good look at his benefactor, whose white tee and jeans didn't quite fit in with the seeming affluent crowd in the mall. It wasn't that he was badly dressed, just that he didn't trend with the latest styles and fashions; which kind of seemed to be all en Vogue. Johnny couldn't help but smile as he contemplated his own garb of cargo shorts and a body shirt swimming with color and patterns. They made a very odd pair sitting in a sea of designer labels and perfectly styled couture. Johnny paused, watching the retreating Alex get stopped by another youth. He shook his head, wondering at the sanity and determination of some people. "I'm Johnny, by the way. If I didn't thank you, I totally mean to do it now," he said offering a hand to the shorter boy. "I was just on my way to check in at school and needed something to wear."
  13. Johnny could see the doe eyes that Gwen was making at Brian and guessed that they would far rather walk around together than have him tailing along. In fact, it looked like there were more than a few couples on the bus which left him as quite the unenviable third wheel. Well, regardless, the sun was out, the food smelled fantastic, and apparently there were going to be some kind of games given the most recent announcement. He smiled as Brian and Morgan were singled out, it would mean the show had a little personal interest for him. Always better when you could cheer for someone you actually knew. Knowing the stigma of the new kid he let them all go their own way and waited to see who might stay back or was looking for someone to wander the fair with. Worst case, he'd manage it on his own, but these things were always better with someone to share the experience.

    Killing Time [IC]

GM The girl just giggled at Zach and called out, "but it's not my size!" as he literally flew away from them. Anything further she might have said, like a phone number or perhaps email address was lost as he gained ground on the determined and apparently deranged Neighborhood watch captain. How no one realized that he literally flew through the packed mall corridor was a minor miracle. Yet he appeared almost like magic in front of Alex as he marched to apprehend the villainous, thieving, degenerate girl who was being led back into the store by a clerk. No doubt she was one of the many who crossed over from her lowly South Side hovel into the neighborhood that HIS taxes helped pay for. On any normal day, Alex would not have been deterred by a teen asking him to stop. In fact, that might be more of an excuse to bring in the young whippersnapper for questioning. Perhaps he was rattled from his encounter with Subito, perhaps Zach's amazing appearance startled him, or perhaps he just for once in his life listened. Either way, he stood staring at Zach with his angry eyebrows furrowed as he tried to make sense of what was happening. "Son, you are detaining a man of the law from his god given duties..." he said with perhaps less conviction than he might have otherwise and he was most certainly not walking forward.

He doesn't roll that way... Diplomacy for the guard: (14:01:48) Ozob: Guard Diplomacy Roll (14:01:53) System: Ozob rolls 1d20 and gets 4. So let's add all that up together... 4 - 1 = 3. Not a stellar result.

    Killing time [OOC]

But he's really a real kind of person... Nah, I'll do it. No problem. Give me either an intimidate or diplomacy roll, with a +1 lingering mod from Subitos prior success and Alex's general confusion at the moment. I'll edit in Alexs and the clerks notice check mostly for lols. (09:06:55) Ozob: Alex Notice Roll (09:06:59) System: Ozob rolls 1d6 and gets 5. (09:07:05) System: Ozob rolls 1d20 and gets 3. So I should have really kept the D6 for him... but 3 + 5 = 8. Nope. (09:08:39) Ozob: Clerk Notice Roll (09:08:44) System: Ozob rolls 1d6 and gets 1. (09:08:50) System: Ozob rolls 1d20 and gets 5. Notice Roll 5 + 3 = 8. Nope. The clerk is equally clueless. So as soon as I get the appropriate social roll from you I can move that portion along.
  17. Filing off the bus with everyone else, Johnny took in the sights of the fair and the seeming hordes of people dressed both in period and other costumes. He was pretty sure that barbarian's were not really Renaissance based, but there were certainly enough of them along with the Norse raiders, wizards, and all the other fantasy memes. Still even if he smirked at some of the out of place characters, there was something about the sheer number of people in costume that made it both fun and interesting. He was trying to figure out where to go, when the group he had introduced himself too walked over to a long haired girl waving them forward. Not having any clue where to go or really who anyone was, he followed figuring that someone would either tell him to wait in the monstrous line, or that she had already purchased tickets for them. When he got too them, he said, "do I need to get in line over there, or is this some kind of school thing?"

    Killing Time [IC]

GM As Alex strode across the mall trying to keep the girl in his sight he was doing his best to gather his failing courage. As it was, he was not the first to arrive on the scene. Instead, a peppy looking guy in jeans and a hip tee shirt tapped Jeena on the shoulder. His blue eyes were alert and his smile seemed genuine as he spoke to her. "I think you forgot something. Happens all the time, I totally hate those things with a burning passion, but they do keep people honest, ya know?"

    Killing Time [IC]

GM "Well he... I mean... they... you know what kind of people..." Alex stammered, clearly loosing control of the situation. He paused, looking around at the gathered crowd, which had grown to unacceptable levels. He was the law here? Right? For a moment, his failing courage nearly made him stand his ground. However, the compact man's suggestions and demeanor were less than reassuring. Better to find some other beatniks and hoodlums elsewhere. Bwee-bwee-bwee-bwee! That was it. A way to save face and salvage the situation. Besides, the girl standing dumbstruck in the door didn't look like she was going to offer quite the resistance he was going to get here. Looking back to Johnny, he spat out, "well it's lucky that I wasn't there when you didn't steal something! Now clear off... all of you... while I take care of a thing in a place... over there, and not here." Johnny scrunched his eyes in confusion as he tried to make sense of what the guy was trying to say to him. Shaking his head he watched the Community Watch guy walked off rather quickly and with several glances back to see if anyone was following him. "Hey man, thanks. This sort of thing happen a lot around here?" he said to Subito.

    Killing time [OOC]

Rolling done in Chat. Aricamus: (22:25:48) System: Arichamus rolls 1d20 and gets 16. Total 16 + 6 = 22 Alex the Watch Guy: (22:29:15) System: Ozob rolls 1d20 and gets 13. Total 13 - 1 = 12 That's enough to make him very open to your suggestion, especially given what's happening at the store. IC Post following.

    Killing time [OOC]

Arichamus, give me an intimidate roll. So +4 for your CHA, and a +2 for a very nice speech and situational modifier of being a lot stronger.
  22. "Johnny," he replied taking Morgan's hand and pumping it in a friendly manner. Looking over Morgan's costume, he nodded, "Sweet threads. So... is this kind of thing the norm around here? I mean we're not all going to be studying Renascence history or something are we?" As he spoke he nodded to the other people nearby. They were colorfully dressed and he was beginning to think that he might have to buy something at the fair to fit in.
  23. Johnny sat on the bus, still not entirely sure where he was and what he was doing here. As his last year of high school he should have been king of the school and surrounded by friends getting ready for college. Instead he was on the East Coast in a school he knew nothing about in a city that he'd barely ever heard of. Looking out the window as they wound their way through town he at least had the consolation that he had been in this situation before. Perhaps this was the third or fourth prep school that he'd been transferred too, so it wasn't like he hadn't been sitting on a bus like this before. Emily was right though, might as well make the best of it. There was something about this place that she hadn't been telling him, which was odd. However, she seemed to think he was going to like it here and her instincts were rarely wrong. Well that just left getting to know people, even if he seemed to be woefully under dressed for the event. His recent trip to the mall hadn't really prepared him for some kind of Ren Faire, so his cargo shorts and body shirt had to do. Actually, he hadn't really even made it to the campus yet. They had been in the process of checking in and the receptionist had indicated that there was a bus leaving for the Ren Faire if he wanted to meet some people and have some fun before classes started. With a deep breath, he put on a genuine smile and moved forward a couple of rows, flashing the people there a shaka sign in greetings, "hey, how's it hanging?"
  24. Wellspring is. He's new, so I'm going to do an intro thing on the bus.

Yes I am holding until I get a Subito response as that will dictate much of how things progress.
